The Lagrangian flux-monodromy morphism

We define a new morphism on the fundamental group of the space of Lagrangian submanifolds, which takes into account the Lagrangian flux and monodromy. We study the discreteness of its image and relate this discreteness to the ($C^\infty$) topology of the Hamiltonian orbit of the Lagrangian in question. We completely describe this new morphism for Lagrangian tori in $\mathbb{R}^4$ and $\mathbb{C}P^2$ and give explicit constructions. Similar constructions allow us to study the shape invariant of the Clifford torus in $\mathbb{C}P^n$. Finally, we upgrade our results on Lagrangian tori in $\mathbb{R}^4$ from the $C^\infty$ topology to the Hausdorff one.

A note on the cardinality of Lagrangian packings

Given a symplectic manifold, can one pack uncountably many Lagrangian submanifolds in a given Hamiltonian isotopy class of this symplectic manifold? We address $C^\infty$ and $C^0$ versions of this question.

Reverse isoperimetric inequalities for Lagrangian intersection Floer theory

We extend Groman and Solomon's reverse isoperimetric inequality to pseudoholomorphic curves with punctures at the boundary and whose boundary components lie in a collection of Lagrangian submanifolds with intersections locally modelled on $\mathbb{R}^n\cap (\mathbb{R}^{k}\times \sqrt{-1}\mathbb{R}^{n-k})$ inside $\mathbb{C}^n$. Our construction closely follows the methods used by Duval (2016) and Abouzaid (2021) and corrects an error appearing in the latter approach.

Weinstein exactness of nearby Lagrangians and related questions

We address the following problem: if a Hamiltonian diffeomorphism maps a Lagrangian submanifold $L$ to a small Weinstein neighborhood of $L$, is the image necessarily Hamiltonian isotopic to $L$ inside that neighborhood? On the one hand, we show that the question can have a negative answer in any symplectic manifold of dimension at least six. On the other hand, we answer an a priori weaker form of the question in the positive in various cases when $L$ satisfies a rationality condition: we prove that the image of $L$ is often exact inside the Weinstein neighborhood. We provide applications to the Lagrangian counterpart of the $C^0$ flux conjecture, to $C^0$-rigidity phenomena of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms, and to topological properties of spaces of Lagrangians with the same rationality constraint. Moreover, we state and prove cases of an analogue of Viterbo's spectral norm conjecture for non-exact Lagrangians; in the process, we make progress on an old question of Viterbo regarding integer difference vectors between points of Lagrangians.

Lagrangian metric geometry with Riemannian bounds

We study collections of exact Lagrangian submanifolds respecting some uniform Riemannian bounds, which we equip with a metric naturally arising in symplectic topology (e.g. the Lagrangian Hofer metric or the spectral metric). We exhibit many metric and symplectic properties of these spaces, such that they have compact completions and that they contain only finitely many Hamiltonian isotopy classes. We then use this to exclude many unusual phenomena from happening in these bounded spaces. Taking limits in the bounds, we also conclude that there are at most countably many Hamiltonian isotopy classes of exact Lagrangian submanifolds in a Liouville manifold. Under some mild topological assumptions, we get analogous results for monotone Lagrangian submanifolds with a fixed monotonicity constant. Finally, in the process of showing these results, we get new results on the Riemannian geometry of cotangent bundles and surfaces which might be of independent interest.

A Hölder-type inequality for the Hausdorff distance between Lagrangians

We prove a Hölder-type inequality for the Hausdorff distance between Lagrangians with respect to the Lagrangian spectral distance or the Hofer-Chekanov distance in the spirit of Joksimović-Seyfaddini [arXiv:2207.11813]. This inequality is established via methods developped by the first author [arXiv:2204.02468, arXiv:2108.00555] in order to understand the symplectic geometry of certain collections of Lagrangians under metric constraints.

Hausdorff limits of submanifolds of symplectic and contact manifolds

We study sequences of immersions respecting bounds coming from Riemannian geometry and apply the ensuing results to the study of sequences of submanifolds of symplectic and contact manifolds. This allows us to study the subtle interaction between the Hausdorff metric and the Lagrangian Hofer and spectral metrics. In the process, we get proofs of metric versions of the nearby Lagrangian conjecture and of the Viterbo conjecture on the spectral norm. We also get $C^0$-rigidity results for a vast class of important submanifolds of symplectic and contact manifolds in the presence of Riemannian bounds. Likewise, we get a Lagrangian generalization of results of Hofer and Viterbo on simultaneous $C^0$ and Hofer/spectral limits~ -- ~even without any such bounds.

Convergence and Riemannian bounds on Lagrangian submanifolds

We consider collections of Lagrangian submanifolds of a given symplectic manifold which respect uniform bounds of curvature type coming from an auxiliary Riemannian metric. We prove that, for a large class of metrics on these collections, convergence to an embedded Lagrangian submanifold implies convergence to it in the Hausdorff metric. This class of metrics includes well-known metrics such as the Lagrangian Hofer metric, the spectral norm and the shadow metrics introduced by Biran, Cornea and Shelukhin arXiv:1806.06630. The proof relies on a version of the monotonicity lemma, applied on a carefully-chosen metric ball.
