Generalized Poincaré inequality for quantum Markov semigroups

We prove a noncommutative $p$-Poincaré inequality for GNS-detailed-balance quantum Markov semigroups (QMSs) on non-tracial $σ$-finite von Neumann algebras, assuming only the existence of a spectral gap. Extending the semi-commutative results of Huang and Tropp, we first establish the inequality for tracial von Neumann algebras. We use Markov dilations to obtain chain-rule estimates for Dirichlet forms and amalgamated free products to define an appropriate noncommutative derivation. We then extend the result to QMSs satisfying GNS detailed balance on non-tracial $σ$-finite von Neumann algebras, using Haagerup's reduction and Kosaki's interpolation theorem. As applications, we recover sub-exponential concentration inequalities and estimate the Lipschitz and completely bounded Lipschitz diameters of the QMSs.

A Hexagonal Counterexample to Log-Convexity of Fisher Information Along the Heat Flow

We construct a smooth, strictly positive, Gaussian-decaying density on $\mathbb{R}^2$ for which Fisher information along the heat flow is not log-convex. This disproves the Cheng--Geng log-convexity conjecture in dimension two and, by tensorization, in every dimension $d\ge2$. Consequently, the multidimensional forms of the Gaussian completely monotone conjecture, McKean's conjecture, and Toscani's entropy power conjecture also fail, complementing the one-dimensional counterexample of Gu and Sellke. Our construction is a small hexagonal perturbation on the triangular torus, transferred to $\mathbb{R}^2$ by a Gaussian envelope and supported by explicit two-dimensional numerics. We also initiate the study of the sharp constants $θ_d^*$ by proving $θ_1^*=1$, establishing monotonicity in the dimension, and identifying a dichotomy for the asymptotic constant $θ_\infty^*$ governed by the sign of $\mathcal{D}$. The explicit two-dimensional counterexample was found by GPT-5.5 Pro.

An Explicit Family of Log-Concave Counterexamples to the Gaussian Completely Monotone Conjecture

We construct smooth, strictly log-concave counterexamples to the Gaussian completely monotone conjecture in every dimension. In one dimension, they form an explicit family $f_m$ whose signed $m$th entropy derivative at time zero is negative for every sufficiently large $m$; the inequality persists for all sufficiently small positive times. Tensorization with a broad Gaussian factor gives the higher-dimensional examples. The argument is analytic and self-contained. It reduces the sign to a two-frequency entropy calculation on the circle and transfers the resulting asymptotic to the real line through an exact heat-flow formula for Gaussian-windowed Fourier modes. The proof was developed by GPT-5.6 Sol Pro under the authors' guidance.

The Randomized Query Complexity of Finding Minimal Elements in Bounded-Width Posets

We study the zero-error randomized query complexity of finding all minimal elements in an unknown $n$-element poset of width at most $w$. Previous work of Daskalakis, Karp, Mossel, Riesenfeld, and Verbin established a randomized upper bound with leading term $\frac{w+1}{2}n$, while the corresponding lower bound left a multiplicative gap in the leading constant that approaches a factor of 2 as $w$ grows. We prove the finite lower bound \( R^{\mathrm{LV}}_{n,w}\ge \frac{w+1}{2}n-\frac{w(w+3)}4 +w\left(1-\frac1w\right)^n +\frac{w(w-1)}4\left(1-\frac2w\right)^n. \) Consequently, for every fixed $w$, \( R^{\mathrm{LV}}_{n,w} = \left(\frac{w+1}{2}+o(1)\right)n. \) Thus the known randomized upper bound has the correct asymptotic leading constant for every fixed width. The argument is based on a pairwise accounting of incomparable queries under a random-chain hard distribution, using a component-flip involution and a unique ownership property for incomparable comparisons. Controllable Generative Recommendation via Guided Token Refinement

Generative recommendation over discrete Semantic IDs has become a powerful paradigm for item retrieval. Real-world systems, however, frequently require real-time controllability to balance accuracy against objectives such as diversity. Existing autoregressive methods generate tokens strictly from left to right. This fixed direction locks in early decisions, preventing holistic planning and making control difficult. Consequently, direct interventions often break the semantic structure, producing non-existent items. To address this, we propose ReGen, a framework that shifts from sequential decoding to parallel iterative refinement. ReGen reformulates generation as a mask-filling task, predicting all tokens simultaneously rather than one by one. This global view allows us to apply control signals directly to tokens with high-level semantics without retraining the model. To ensure that decoded candidates map to real items, we introduce a topology-constrained tree that iteratively corrects low-confidence predictions while strictly enforcing valid codebook paths during beam-based inference. Experiments show that ReGen provides a favorable accuracy-diversity trade-off under moderate guidance while maintaining high validity of generated Semantic IDs. VTONQA: A Multi-Dimensional Quality Assessment Dataset for Virtual Try-on

With the rapid development of e-commerce and digital fashion, image-based virtual try-on (VTON) has attracted increasing attention. However, existing VTON models often suffer from artifacts such as garment distortion and body inconsistency, highlighting the need for reliable quality evaluation of VTON-generated images. To this end, we construct \textbf{VTONQA}, the first multi-dimensional quality assessment dataset specifically designed for VTON, which contains 8,132 images generated by 11 representative VTON models, along with 24,396 mean opinion scores (MOSs) across three evaluation dimensions (\textit{i.e.}, clothing fit, body compatibility, and overall quality). Based on VTONQA, we benchmark both VTON models and a diverse set of image quality assessment (IQA) metrics, revealing the limitations of existing methods and highlighting the value of the proposed dataset. We believe that the VTONQA dataset and corresponding benchmarks will provide a solid foundation for perceptually aligned evaluation, benefiting both the development of quality assessment methods and the advancement of VTON models. The dataset we proposed in this paper is publicly available at: https://huggingface.co/datasets/weixiny0408/vtonqa.

Mitigating Gradient Pathology in PINNs through Aligned Constraint

While Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) are powerful for solving Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), their training is often paralyzed by gradient pathology. The gradients from the PDE residuals and boundary constraints oppose each other, trapping the model in local minima. Current solutions, such as adaptive weighting or hard constraints, either fail to fundamentally resolve this ill-conditioning or are limited to simple geometries. In this study, we systematically analyze the possible causes of this gradient pathology from the perspectives of loss landscapes and optimization dynamics. Based on the obtained conclusion, we propose Constraint-Aligned loss with Manifold Lifting (CAML). By reformulating all zeroth-order terms into aligned constraints, our method effectively mitigates gradient conflicts. In addition, we introduce a delay factor to help the optimizer skip the high-curvature area. Experiments demonstrate that our CAML significantly enhances numerical stability and efficiency in highly complex PINN problems. Our code is open-sourced on https://github.com/YichenLuo-0/CAML.

H2AL: Hyperbolic Hierarchy-aware Aggregative Learning for Registration-based Few-shot Medical Image Segmentation

Registration-based Few-shot medical image segmentation (RFMIS) aims to generate pseudo-labels for unlabeled images by warping a labeled image through registration. However, existing methods primarily perform pixel-level optimization and inference in Euclidean space, treating anatomical structures as flat and disjoint. This neglect of inherent hierarchies degrades pseudo-label quality and weakens the discrimination of ambiguous regions, limiting the segmentation performance. To overcome this challenge, we propose a Hyperbolic Hierarchy-aware Aggregative Learning framework for RFMIS, termed H2AL, that enhances both deformation plausibility and anatomical discrimination for dual-task learning. Specifically, we introduce a Hyperbolic Hierarchy-aware Infusion (H2I) module, which leverages the hierarchical modeling capability of hyperbolic space to learn precise hierarchy-aware representations via transformation-guided supervised hyperbolic contrastive learning, and injects such hierarchical priors into Euclidean space through a gated infusion block while preserving semantic richness. Furthermore, we propose an end-to-end joint optimization algorithm by gradient aggregation, where the gradients from the registration and segmentation decoders, embedding semantic and hierarchical cues, are aggregated to update the shared encoder to promote collaborative learning across tasks. Extensive experiments on two anatomical regions, with five experimental settings, demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our method in both registration and segmentation. The code is publicly available at https://github.com/JiamingCai469/H2AL.

Hierarchical Latent Reasoning for LLM-based Recommendation

Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown strong potential for recommendation by leveraging their semantic understanding and contextual modeling capabilities. Recent studies further introduce reasoning mechanisms to improve user preference modeling. However, explicit natural-language reasoning incurs substantial inference overhead, whereas existing latent reasoning methods mainly focus on generating or verifying intermediate states, leaving their layer-wise preference roles and contributions insufficiently characterized. We propose HiLaR, a Hierarchical Latent Reasoning framework with layer-aware reinforcement optimization for LLM-based recommendation. HiLaR constructs temporal-guided hierarchical user preference representations, aligns them with multiple LLM latent reasoning states, and organizes the reasoning process from broad preferences to fine-grained current intents. To further optimize the reasoning trajectory, HiLaR combines final recommendation feedback with layer-aware process rewards derived from the marginal target-likelihood gain of each state. Experiments on four Amazon benchmark datasets show that HiLaR generally outperforms strong sequential, generative, and LLM-based recommendation baselines. Ablation and sensitivity analyses further verify the contribution of hierarchical representation learning, latent alignment, and process-level optimization. Our code is available in https://github.com/hupeiyu21/HiLaR.

Entanglement Entropy of Free Fermions on Random Fractal Lattices

Random fractal lattices provide a geometrically disordered setting in which quantum correlations can be shaped by noninteger dimensionality rather than onsite randomness. We investigate the entanglement properties of noninteracting fermions on random fractal lattices generated by a stochastic growth algorithm. By varying the growth parameter and adding missing links with probability $p$, we tune the Hausdorff and spectral dimensions while keeping the system free of onsite disorder. For ground states at different fillings, we compute the bipartite entanglement entropy of subregions defined by graph distance and analyze its scaling with subsystem size. Over a broad parameter range, we find robust power-law behavior governed primarily by the Hausdorff dimension, consistent with a generalized area law and without the logarithmic enhancement familiar from Euclidean free fermions. We also study entanglement growth following a global quench from an uncorrelated checkerboard state and uncover an asymptotic scaling collapse in which the subsystem-size dependence is governed by the Hausdorff dimension, while the temporal evolution is governed by the spectral dimension. The resulting dynamics are logarithmically slow over an extended intermediate-time window. These results show that geometric randomness alone can generate both nontrivial ground-state entanglement structure and slow quantum-information spreading in free-fermion systems.

Finite-momentum bound pairs of two electrons in an altermagnetic metal

We solve the two-electron problem on a square lattice with d-wave altermagnetism, considering both on-site and nearest-neighbor attractive interactions. The altermagnetic spin-splitting in the single-particle dispersion naturally gives rise to a ground state of two-electron bound pairs with nonzero center-of-mass momentum. The emergence of finite-momentum bound states suggests that altermagnetic spin splitting may favor pairing at nonzero center-of-mass momentum, which could be relevant for proposed Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) superconductivity in altermagnetic systems. Additionally, when the nearest-neighbor attraction is strong, the resulting finite-momentum bound pairs exhibit a mixture of both spin-singlet and spin-triplet characteristics, suggesting the possibility of unconventional superconductors, where spin-singlet and spin-triplet pairings coexist.

Uncovering Salience-Driven Dynamics in Consumer Confidence with Generative Social Simulation

Consumer confidence is typically modeled as a persistent macroeconomic index, yet its movements arise from households that interpret economic information through heterogeneous constraints, exposures, prior beliefs, and attention. We introduce ConsumerSim, a generative Human--Environment response framework that reconstructs Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) dynamics from a microdata-calibrated synthetic population, time-stamped macroeconomic, financial, policy, and news signals, survey-like response generation, post-stratified belief expansion, and behavioral inertia alignment. Across U.S., EU27, and Japanese official CCI target series, ConsumerSim ranks first among persistence, time-series, regression, and information-augmented baselines on the reported reconstruction metrics, with clear gains around high-salience shocks. Its reconstructed signal also improves short-horizon prediction of real activity, most consistently for housing outcomes. Mechanism analyses show that CCI movements concentrate around salient events; subgroup trajectories often align in direction while differing in magnitude; and signal sensitivity varies across income, homeownership, education, and political-alignment groups. Population-expansion and ablation results indicate that representative aggregation, situational signals, persona heterogeneity, and inertia are necessary for both accuracy and diagnosis. The findings support a behavioral view of consumer confidence as an interpretable Human--Environment response process rather than a purely aggregate time series.

Kinetically Controlled Condensation Boundary Governing Indium Incorporation in InGaN Metal Organic Vapor Phase Epitaxy

We combine in situ synchrotron X-ray crystal truncation rod measurements with a binary Burton-Cabrera-Frank model to quantify indium incorporation during InGaN growth by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) on GaN(0001). By distinguishing In adatoms from condensed droplets and incorporating coupled Ga-In incorporation kinetics, the model captures the intrinsically nonlinear dependence of indium composition on precursor flux and growth temperature. The critical In coverage corresponding to the maximum attainable In composition at a given temperature is determined by a kinetic balance between In adatom supply and incorporation capacity, defining a kinetically controlled condensation boundary that shifts with temperature and Ga flux. The model quantitatively predicts this boundary, in agreement with independent measurements, and provides a predictive framework for optimizing high-In-content InGaN growth while avoiding droplet formation.

AgenticOS: An Intent-Oriented Secure Operating System Architecture for Autonomous AI Agents

Traditional OS security models based on "resource exposure plus permission checks" face structural challenges as LLM-driven autonomous agents acquire capabilities for planning, tool use, network access, and code execution. Once an agent runtime is compromised through prompt injection or malicious tool outputs, an attacker can compose POSIX-style resource primitives into behaviors far beyond the user's task authorization. To address this, we propose AgenticOS, an intent-oriented secure OS architecture that consolidates delegable, auditable software capabilities into OS-native ones rather than replacing all applications. The core insight is to reframe the OS from a "resource manager" into an "intent filter": instead of requesting low-level resources directly, agents submit structured intent declarations, from which the system synthesizes a least-privilege environment with mandatory mediation, auditing, and information-flow constraints. At the implementation level, we introduce a four-layer architecture -- Ghost Kernel, Logic Shutter, Agent Capsule, and Semantic Boundary Gateway -- together with the Intent ABI, Manifest-Only Runtime, Weaver-based capability generation, and an admission model for AgenticOS-native Skills.

Semantic-Preserving Prompt Hijacking: A Black-Box Adversarial Attack on Auto-Prompt Optimization

LLMs increasingly integrate auto-suggestion optimization modules, enabling them to rewrite and display user input before generating the final response. While this design aims to enhance transparency and trust, its process of autonomously selecting a single best result from multiple candidate solutions allows attackers to hijack this optimization process by inducing subtle, imperceptible semantic shifts. To address this, we propose a semantic preservation hijacking attack method based on black-box conditions: Adaptive Greedy Local Search. This method hierarchically decomposes the input text, masks key language units, and dynamically adjusts candidate replacement words at predefined semantic checkpoints. This maximizes the deviation between the model output and the original intent while strictly maintaining semantic similarity to the original text. Experimental results on commercial and open-source LLMs demonstrate that, under the same semantic similarity constraints, this method achieves a higher attack success rate than existing attack methods in over 2400 test cases. Quest for quantum advantage: Monte Carlo wave-function simulations of the Coherent Ising Machine

The Coherent Ising Machine (CIM) is a quantum network of optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) intended to find ground states of the Ising model. This is an NP-hard problem, related to several important minimization problems, including the max-cut graph problem. In order to enhance its potential performance, we analyze the coherent coupling strategy for the CIM in a highly quantum regime. To explore this limit, without assuming gaussianity, we employ accurate numerical simulations. Due to the inherent complexity of the system, the maximum network size is limited. While master equation methods can be used, their scalability diminishes rapidly for larger systems. Instead, we use Monte Carlo wave-function methods, which scale as the wave-function dimension, and use large numbers of samples. These simulations involve Hilbert spaces exceeding $10^{7}$ dimensions. To evaluate success probabilities, we use quadrature probabilities. We demonstrate the potential for quantum computational advantage by reducing the time required to reach maximum success probability in a low-dissipation regime enabled by initial quantum superpositions and entanglement. Furthermore, we demonstrate that tailored time-dependent couplings can amplify these quantum effects. Comparisons with classical CIM models give evidence that quantum tunneling effects in this strong coupling limit can overcome trapping in false minima. This can greatly increase success rates, indicating a potential for quantum advantage. Finally, we perform a coherence analysis based on the state purity to examine the role of quantum coherence in CIM performance and to determine how state purity correlates with improved optimization outcomes.

A Lasry-Lions envelope approach for mathematical programs with complementarity constraints

We propose a homotopy method for solving mathematical programs with complementarity constraints (CCs). The indicator function of the CCs is relaxed by the Lasry--Lions double envelope, an extension of the Moreau envelope that enjoys an additional smoothness property, making it amenable to fast optimization algorithms. The proposed algorithm mimics the behavior of homotopy methods for systems of nonlinear equations or penalty methods for constrained optimization: it solves a sequence of smooth subproblems that progressively approximate the original problem, using the solution of each subproblem as the starting point for the next one. In the limiting setting, we establish the convergence to Mordukhovich and Clarke stationary points. We also provide a worst-case complexity analysis for computing an approximate stationary point. Preliminary numerical results on a suite of benchmark problems demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Efficient and Stealthy Jailbreak Attacks via Adversarial Prompt Distillation from LLMs to SLMs

Current jailbreak attacks on large language models (LLMs) predominantly rely on LLMs themselves to generate adversarial prompts, creating a critical efficiency bottleneck: each attack requires substantial computational resources and API queries, limiting scalability and practical deployment. To overcome this limitation, we propose Adversarial Prompt Distillation (APD), a novel framework that transfers jailbreaking capabilities from LLMs to small language models (SLMs) for efficient, low-resource attacks. APD integrates three key components: (1) masked adversarial knowledge pre-training via LoRA fine-tuning, (2) dynamic temperature-controlled knowledge distillation to bridge architectural gaps, and (3) reinforcement learning-based template optimization for adaptive refinement. Extensive experiments across 12 models show that APD achieves state-of-the-art attack success rates (e.g., 96.4% ASR_k on GPT-4) while dramatically improving efficiency - generating prompts 3.7x faster with 11.3x fewer parameters than teacher models. Our work establishes the first practical framework for lightweight jailbreak attacks, exposes new vulnerabilities in LLM defenses, and provides a scalable testbed for advancing AI safety research.
