Observational constraints on phenomenological emergent dark energy and barotropic dark matter characterized by a constant equation of state parameter

While cold dark matter is widely supported by a range of cosmological observations, it encounters several difficulties at smaller scales. These issues have prompted the investigation of various alternative dark matter candidates, leaving the question "What is dark matter?" still open. In this work, we propose a new cosmological model that considers dark matter as a barotropic fluid with a constant equation of state parameter and interprets dark energy as the phenomenological emergent dark energy rather than a cosmological constant. We then place constraints on our new model using the Planck 2018 Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) anisotropy measurements, Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) measurements from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), the Pantheon Plus (PP) compilation of Type Ia supernovae (Ia SNe), and the Redshift Space Distortions (RSD) data from Gold2018. The results show statistically significant signal for positive dark matter equation of state and square of sound speed $w_{\rm dm}=c_{\rm s,dm}^2$ ($10^{7}w_{\rm dm}$ = $4.0^{+2.5}_{-2.3}$ at the 95\% confidence level) for the data combination CMB+DESI+PP+RSD. However, Bayesian evidence indicates that this data combination favors the $Λ$CDM model with very strong evidence.

The odd-even differences in stability peninsula for $106 \leqslant Z \leqslant 112$ region with the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum

The predictive power of the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum (DRHBc) with density functional PC-PK1 is demonstrated for superheavy region ($101 \leqslant Z \leqslant 120$) by comparing with available experimental and evaluated data in the AME2020. The DRHBc theory predicts 93 bound nuclei beyond the drip line $N = 258$ in the region of $106 \leqslant Z \leqslant 112$, which form a stability peninsula. The odd-even differences between odd-$N$ and even-$N$ nuclei are remarkable in the stability peninsula; the number of bound odd-$N$ nuclei is less than that of bound even-$N$ nuclei, and the one-neutron separation energy of an odd-$N$ nucleus is smaller than those of its neighboring even-$N$ nuclei due to the blocking effect. The deformation effect is indispensable for the reentrant stability beyond the drip line by significantly affecting the structure of single-particle levels around the Fermi energy. The interplay between deformation and pairing effects affects the position where the odd-$N$ nucleus becomes bound in the stability peninsula. By examining the deformation effect at different orders, it is found that quadrupole deformation makes leading contribution to the appearance of stability peninsula and the effects of hexadecapole and hexacontatetrapole deformations are nonnegligible.

Optical absorption of angulon in metal halide perovskites

We theoretically study the optical absorption of an angulon in the metal halide perovskites (MHP) based on the improved Devreese-Huybrechts-Lemmens model, where the formation of quasiparticle angulon states originates from the organic cation rotating in the inorganic octahedral cage of MHP. We find that the resonance optical absorption peaks are appeared when the energy of incident photon matches the quantum levels of angulon. Moreover, the intensity of absorption depends on the quantum states of phonon angular momentum. These theoretical results provide significant insight to study the redistribution of angular momenta for the rotational molecules immersed into the many-body environment.

Security Analysis of Measurement-device-independent Quantum Secure Direct Communication

Quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) is an important branch of quantum communication that transmits confidential message directly in a quantum channel without utilizing encryption and decryption. It not only prevents eavesdropping during transmission, but also eliminates the security loophole associated with key storage and management. Recently measurement-device-independent (MDI) QSDC protocols in which the measurement is performed by an untrusted party using imperfect measurement devices have been constructed, and MDI-QSDC eliminates the security loopholes originating from the imperfections in measurement devices so that enable application of QSDC with current technology. In this paper, we complete the quantitative security analysis of the MDI-QSDC. The security capacity is derived, and its lower bound is given. It is found that the MDI-QSDC secrecy capacity is only slightly lower than that of QSDC utilizing perfect measurement devices. Therefore QSDC is possible with current measurement devices by sacrificing a small amount in the capacity.
