Anisotropic Spin Polarization and magnetic spin hall effect in Ferromagnets

Spin-dependent transport in ferromagnets underpins the development of high-density spintronic memories. Spin-dependent transport in strong spin-orbit-coupled ferromagnets exhibits a significant anisotropy. Both the overall spin polarization during charge transport and the magnetic spin Hall conductivity are found to exhibit pronounced anisotropy when the magnetization is tilted away from the crystallographic easy axis or when the electric field is rotated relative to the crystal axes. These anisotropic responses originate primarily from spin-orbit coupling, which is identified as the key driver of the large anisotropy observed in ferromagnet. Furthermore, strain tunability of the magnetic spin Hall anisotropy is demonstrated, with tensile strain progressively enhancing the oscillatory amplitude of the spin Hall conductivity. These findings establish strong spin-orbit-coupled ferromagnets as a platform for anisotropic spin-current generation and field-free spintronic devices that exploit intrinsic material anisotropy for improved performance and energy efficiency.

Piezomagnetic Switching of Nonvolatile Antiferromagnetic States

Prospective spintronic memory and logic devices will benefit from the negligible stray field and ultrafast magnetic dynamics inherent to antiferromagnets [1]. However, realizing isothermal, nonvolatile, and deterministic switching of antiferromagnetic states remains a key challenge [2, 3]. Here, we propose a piezomagnetic writing scheme in triangular Mn3Ir-based memory cells, with readout achieved via the exchange bias effect. Our approach enables deterministic and nonvolatile switching of the antiferromagnetic states, which exhibit exceptional robustness against external perturbations. The switching mechanism is ascribed to piezomagnetic effect of Mn3Ir combined with the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction at the antiferromagnet-ferromagnet interface. This scheme overcomes the speed limitations imposed by conventional isothermal methods based on isothermal crystallization mechanism [4]. Our findings highlight the potential of piezomagnetic effects in designing advanced spintronic devices, providing an efficient pathway for manipulating antiferromagnetic states and developing energy-efficient memory technology.

Shortest Embeddings of Linear Codes with Arbitrary Hull Dimension

In this paper, we study the shortest $t$-dimensional hull embeddings of linear codes in both Euclidean and Hermitian cases, extending the existing research on the shortest LCD and self-orthogonal embeddings to arbitrary hull dimensions and arbitrary finite fields. We obtain the exact length of such embeddings by adopting tools from quadratic form theory over finite fields and classical group theory. Based on the congruence equivalence class of Gram matrices of linear codes, we classify linear codes into distinct ``types'' and present corresponding constructive algorithms. In particular, we improve the results of An et al. and fully determine the length of the shortest self-orthogonal embeddings for linear codes. Finally, applying these algorithms, we provide examples for various settings and obtain several optimal codes inequivalent to those in the BKLC database.

Efimovian Phonon Production for an Analog Coasting Universe in Bose-Einstein Condensates

Efimov effects arise from scale invariance, a fundamental symmetry with universal implications. While spatial Efimov physics has been extensively studied, realizing its temporal counterpart remains challenging, as it requires a dynamical system that breaks time-translation symmetry yet preserves the essential time-scaling symmetry. Analog cosmology offers a powerful platform to address this challenge, bridging the domains of Efimov physics and cosmology. Here, we predict a temporal Efimov effect in an analog linearly expanding universe realized with a quasi-two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate. The invariance of phonon mode equations under time rescaling leads to particle production with two distinct dynamics: power-law growth and log-periodic oscillations, with the latter being the hallmark signature of the Efimov effect. Furthermore, these dynamics map directly onto sub- and super-horizon cosmological modes. Our predictions can be directly verified through time-averaged measurements of the density-fluctuation spectrum $S_{k}(t)$ in current experiments.

AGCD: Agent-Guided Cross-Modal Decoding for Weather Forecasting

Accurate weather forecasting is more than grid-wise regression: it must preserve coherent synoptic structures and physical consistency of meteorological fields, especially under autoregressive rollouts where small one-step errors can amplify into structural bias. Existing physics-priors approaches typically impose global, once-for-all constraints via architectures, regularization, or NWP coupling, offering limited state-adaptive and sample-specific controllability at deployment. To bridge this gap, we propose Agent-Guided Cross-modal Decoding (AGCD), a plug-and-play decoding-time prior-injection paradigm that derives state-conditioned physics-priors from the current multivariate atmosphere and injects them into forecasters in a controllable and reusable way. Specifically, We design a multi-agent meteorological narration pipeline to generate state-conditioned physics-priors, utilizing MLLMs to extract various meteorological elements effectively. To effectively apply the priors, AGCD further introduce cross-modal region interaction decoding that performs region-aware multi-scale tokenization and efficient physics-priors injection to refine visual features without changing the backbone interface. Experiments on WeatherBench demonstrate consistent gains for 6-hour forecasting across two resolutions (5.625 degree and 1.40625 degree) and diverse backbones (generic and weather-specialized), including strictly causal 48-hour autoregressive rollouts that reduce early-stage error accumulation and improve long-horizon stability.

Linear Codes with Certain Dimension of Hermitian Hulls

In this paper, we study the enumerative and asymptotic properties related to Hermitian $\ell$-complementary codes on the unitary space over $\F_{q^2}$. We provide some closed form expressions for the counting formulas of Hermitian $\ell$-complementary codes. There is a similarity in the asymptotic weight distribution between Hermitian self-orthogonal codes and unrestricted codes. Furthermore, we study the asymptotic behavior of Hermitian self-orthogonal codes whose minimum distance is at least $d$. In particular, we conclude that MDS codes within the class of Hermitian self-orthogonal codes are asymptotically dense when the alphabet size approaches to infinity.

High-Efficiency Nonrelativistic Charge-Spin Conversion in X-Type Antiferromagnets

Antiferromagnetic materials with spin splitting have attracted considerable attention for their symmetry-enabled anisotropic spin textures that sustain a zero net magnetization, thereby facilitating efficient spin-current generation. In this work, the highly efficient generation of nonrelativistic spin currents is demonstrated to be facilitated by the distinctive Fermi surface geometry of X-type collinear antiferromagnets. As a prototype conducting X-type antiferromagnet, the Fermi surface of $\beta-\mathrm{Fe_2PO_5}$ exhibits a distinct $d$-wave altermagnetic characteristic, which compresses into a nearly X-shaped configuration. This results in highly efficient spin currents, achieving a charge-spin conversion efficiency of up to 90\%. Moreover, the spin current polarization is controlled by the orientation of the N\'eel vector. When the N\'eel vector tilts to the out-of-plane direction, an in-plane injected charge current can generate a special spin current component with both spin polarization and propagation along the out-of-plane direction, whose charge-spin conversion efficiency substantially exceeds that of known ferromagnets, altermagnets, noncollinear antiferromagnets, and low-symmetry materials. The highly efficient charge-spin conversion in X-type antiferromagnets provides a novel and highly effective spin source system for the development of low-power spintronic devices.

An AI-native experimental laboratory for autonomous biomolecular engineering

Autonomous scientific research, capable of independently conducting complex experiments and serving non-specialists, represents a long-held aspiration. Achieving it requires a fundamental paradigm shift driven by artificial intelligence (AI). While autonomous experimental systems are emerging, they remain confined to areas featuring singular objectives and well-defined, simple experimental workflows, such as chemical synthesis and catalysis. We present an AI-native autonomous laboratory, targeting highly complex scientific experiments for applications like autonomous biomolecular engineering. This system autonomously manages instrumentation, formulates experiment-specific procedures and optimization heuristics, and concurrently serves multiple user requests. Founded on a co-design philosophy of models, experiments, and instruments, the platform supports the co-evolution of AI models and the automation system. This establishes an end-to-end, multi-user autonomous laboratory that handles complex, multi-objective experiments across diverse instrumentation. Our autonomous laboratory supports fundamental nucleic acid functions-including synthesis, transcription, amplification, and sequencing. It also enables applications in fields such as disease diagnostics, drug development, and information storage. Without human intervention, it autonomously optimizes experimental performance to match state-of-the-art results achieved by human scientists. In multi-user scenarios, the platform significantly improves instrument utilization and experimental efficiency. This platform paves the way for advanced biomaterials research to overcome dependencies on experts and resource barriers, establishing a blueprint for science-as-a-service at scale.

Dual Phonon Universe in a Spinor Bose Gas

We show the possibility of simulating a dual universe in a pseudospin-1/2 Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC), wherein two phononic modes experience distinct curved spacetime metrics. Through ramping the interspecies interaction of the BEC, we observe that one universe expands, and in the mean time, the other contracts. These findings can be directly verified in existing cold-atom experimental setups by detecting the correlators of the scaled density contrast (SDC): The sizes of the expanded/contracted universes can be deduced from the SDC's oscillating frequencies, while the expanding/contracting histories are reflected in the SDC's amplitude. Our study demonstrates the great potential of spinor BECs for exploring multiverse-related physics in laboratory settings.

Rapid FRD determination for multiplexed fibre systems -- I. The quasi-near field model and its uncertainties

Focal Ratio Degradation (FRD) in fibres is a crucial factor to control in astronomical instruments in order to minimize light loss. As astronomical instrumentation has advanced, the integration of large populations of fibres has become common. However, determining FRD in multiplexed fibre systems has become a challenging and time-consuming task. The Integral Field Unit for the Fiber Arrayed Solar Optical Telescope (FASOT-IFU) represents the most densely arranged fibre-based IFU in a single unit. Due to the close packing of fibres in the V-groove of the slit end, measuring FRD is particularly challenging as the output spots are prone to overlapping with adjacent fibres. In this paper, a novel method based on the quasi-near field model is proposed to enable rapid FRD measurement in highly multiplexed fibre systems like IFUs and multi-object observation systems. The principle and uncertainties associated with the method are investigated. The method's validity is demonstrated by applying it to determine the FRD in FASOT-IFU, with the achieved FRD performance meeting the acceptable requirements of FASOT-IFU, where the output focal ratio primarily falls within the range of 5.0-7.0. The results indicate that the proposed method offers several advantages, including the simultaneous and rapid measurement of FRD in multiple fibres with high accuracy (error smaller than 0.35 in F-ratio). Furthermore, besides FRD, the method exhibits potential for extensive measurements of throughput, scrambling, and spectral analysis.

AiDroid: When Heterogeneous Information Network Marries Deep Neural Network for Real-time Android Malware Detection

The explosive growth and increasing sophistication of Android malware call for new defensive techniques that are capable of protecting mobile users against novel threats. In this paper, we first extract the runtime Application Programming Interface (API) call sequences from Android apps, and then analyze higher-level semantic relations within the ecosystem to comprehensively characterize the apps. To model different types of entities (i.e., app, API, IMEI, signature, affiliation) and the rich semantic relations among them, we then construct a structural heterogeneous information network (HIN) and present meta-path based approach to depict the relatedness over apps. To efficiently classify nodes (e.g., apps) in the constructed HIN, we propose the HinLearning method to first obtain in-sample node embeddings and then learn representations of out-of-sample nodes without rerunning/adjusting HIN embeddings at the first attempt. Afterwards, we design a deep neural network (DNN) classifier taking the learned HIN representations as inputs for Android malware detection. A comprehensive experimental study on the large-scale real sample collections from Tencent Security Lab is performed to compare various baselines. Promising experimental results demonstrate that our developed system AiDroid which integrates our proposed method outperforms others in real-time Android malware detection. AiDroid has already been incorporated into Tencent Mobile Security product that serves millions of users worldwide.

Quaternion-Valued Single-Phase Model for Three-Phase Power Systems

In this work, a quaternion-valued model is proposed in lieu of the Clarke's α, βtransformation to convert three-phase quantities to a hypercomplex single-phase signal. The concatenated signal can be used for harmonic distortion detection in three-phase power systems. In particular, the proposed model maps all the harmonic frequencies into frequencies in the quaternion domain, while the Clarke's transformation-based methods will fail to detect the zero sequence voltages. Based on the quaternion-valued model, the Fourier transform, the minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) algorithm and the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm are presented as examples to detect harmonic distortion. Simulations are provided to demonstrate the potentials of this new modeling method.
