Effective Field Theories and Cosmological Scattering Equations

We propose worldsheet formulae for wavefunction coefficients of the massive non-linear sigma model (NLSM), scalar Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI), and special Galileon (sGal) theories in de Sitter momentum space in terms of the recently proposed cosmological scattering equations constructed from conformal generators in the future boundary. The four-point integrands are assembled from simple building blocks and we identify a double copy prescription mapping the NLSM wavefunction coefficient to the DBI and sGal wavefunction coefficients, including mass deformations and curvature corrections. Finally, we compute the soft limits of these wavefunction coefficients and find that they can be written in terms of boundary conformal generators acting on contact diagrams.

Weakly Supervised Video Anomaly Detection via Center-guided Discriminative Learning

Anomaly detection in surveillance videos is a challenging task due to the diversity of anomalous video content and duration. In this paper, we consider video anomaly detection as a regression problem with respect to anomaly scores of video clips under weak supervision. Hence, we propose an anomaly detection framework, called Anomaly Regression Net (AR-Net), which only requires video-level labels in training stage. Further, to learn discriminative features for anomaly detection, we design a dynamic multiple-instance learning loss and a center loss for the proposed AR-Net. The former is used to enlarge the inter-class distance between anomalous and normal instances, while the latter is proposed to reduce the intra-class distance of normal instances. Comprehensive experiments are performed on a challenging benchmark: ShanghaiTech. Our method yields a new state-of-the-art result for video anomaly detection on ShanghaiTech dataset

Color/Kinematics Duality in AdS$_4$

In flat space, the color/kinematics duality states that perturbative Yang-Mills amplitudes can be written in such a way that kinematic numerators obey the same Jacobi relations as their color factors. This remarkable duality implies BCJ relations for Yang-Mills amplitudes and underlies the double copy to gravitational amplitudes. In this paper, we find analogous relations for Yang-Mills amplitudes in AdS$_4$. In particular we show that the kinematic numerators of 4-point Yang-Mills amplitudes computed via Witten diagrams in momentum space enjoy a generalised gauge symmetry which can be used to enforce the kinematic Jacobi relation away from the flat space limit, and we derive deformed BCJ relations which reduce to the standard ones in the flat space limit. We illustrate these results using compact new expressions for 4-point Yang-Mills amplitudes in AdS$_4$ and their kinematic numerators in terms of spinors. We also spell out the relation to 3d conformal correlators in momentum space, and speculate on the double copy to graviton amplitudes in AdS$_4$.

Conductivities of magnetic quark-gluon plasma at strong coupling

In the presence of a strong magnetic field, the quark gluon plasma is magnetized, leading to anisotropic transport coefficients. In this work, we focus on the effect of magnetization on electric conductivity, ignoring the possible contribution from the axial anomaly. We generalize longitudinal and transverse conductivities to finite frequencies. For transverse conductivity, a separation of contribution from fluid velocity is needed. We study the dependence of the conductivities on the magnetic field and frequency using a holographic magnetic brane model. The longitudinal conductivity scales roughly linearly in the magnetic field, while the transverse conductivity is rather insensitive to the magnetic field. Furthermore, we find the conductivities can be significantly enhanced at large frequency. This can possibly extend the lifetime of the magnetic field, which is a key component of the chiral magnetic effect.

Thermal Diffusion and Quantum Chaos in Neutral Magnetized Plasma

We calculate the thermal diffusion constant $D_T$ and butterfly velocity $v_B$ in neutral magnetized plasma using holographic magnetic brane background. We find the thermal diffusion constant satisfies Blake's bound. The constant in the bound $D_T2πT/v_B^2$ is a decreasing function of magnetic field. It approaches one half in the large magnetic field limit. We also find the existence of a special point defined by Lyapunov exponent and butterfly velocity on which pole-skipping phenomenon occurs.
