A Natural Lane Changing Decision Model For Mixed Traffic Flow Based On Extreme Value Theory

With the high frequency of highway accidents,studying how to use connected automated vehicle (CAV) to improve traffic efficiency and safety will become an important issue. In order to investigate how CAV can use the connected information for decision making, this study proposed a natural lane changing decision model for CAV to adapt the mixed traffic flow based on extreme value theory. Firstly, on the bias of the mixed vehicle behavior analysis, the acceleration, deceleration, and randomization rules of the cellular automata model of mixed traffic flow in two lanes are developed. Secondly,the maximum value of CAV's lane change probability at each distance by extreme value distribution are modeled. Finally, a numerical simulation is conducted to analyze the trajectory-velocity diagram of mixed traffic flow, average travel time and average speed under different penetration rates of CAV. The result shows that our model can avoid the traffic risk well and significantly improve traffic efficiency and safety.

A novel reversible data hiding in encrypted images based on polynomial arithmetic

Reversible data hiding in encrypted images is an effective technology for data hiding and protecting image privacy. Although there are many high-capacity methods have been presented in recent year, most of them need a pre-processing phase to reserve room in the original image before encryption. It may be unpractical, because the image provider has to analyze the content of the image and accomplish additional operations. In this paper, we propose a new robust vacate room after encryption schema based on polynomial arithmetic, which achieves a high embedding capacity with the perfect recovery of the original image. An efficient symmetric encryption method is applied to protect the privacy of the original image. One polynomial is generated by the encryption key and a group of the encrypted pixel, and the secret data is mapped into another polynomial. Through the arithmetic of these two polynomials, we can extract secret data and recover origin image, separately. Experimental results demonstrate that our solution has a stable and good performance on various images (include rough texture image). Compared with some typical methods, the proposed method can get better decrypted image quality with a large embedding capacity.

Limits to Electrical Mobility in Lead-Halide Perovskite Semiconductors

Semiconducting polycrystalline thin films are cheap to produce and can be deposited on flexible substrates, yet high-performance electronic devices usually utilize single-crystal semiconductors, owing to their superior electrical mobilities and longer diffusion lengths. Here we show that the electrical performance of polycrystalline films of metal-halide perovskites (MHPs) approaches that of single crystals at room temperature. Combining temperature-dependent terahertz conductivity measurements and ab initio calculations we uncover a complete picture of the origins of charge scattering in single crystals and polycrystalline films of CH$_3$NH$_3$PbI$_3$. We show that Fröhlich scattering of charge carriers with multiple phonon modes is the dominant mechanism limiting mobility, with grain-boundary scattering further reducing mobility in polycrystalline films. We reconcile the large discrepancy in charge diffusion lengths between single crystals and films by considering photon reabsorption. Thus, polycrystalline films of MHPs offer great promise for devices beyond solar cells, including transistors and modulators.
