Physics-Aligned Deep Learning Enables SERS Resolving and Sequencing of Dynamic Single-Molecule DNA Oligomers in Plasmonic Nanocavity

Single-molecule surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SM-SERS) captures dynamic molecular behavior with ultrahigh sensitivity, but its biopolymer analysis is hindered by strong spectral heterogeneity, transient hotspot sampling, and background interference. Here, we develop a physics-aligned deep learning framework integrating contrastive attention-based multiple-instance learning (CAMIL), a tri-channel multi-kernel CNN classifier, and trajectory-level transition-guided sequence reconstruction to decode single-molecule DNA oligomer dynamics in a plasmonic nanocavity. In this work, CAMIL mines informative spectra enriched with chain-embedded nucleotide and dinucleotide signatures from contrastive positive and negative DNA trajectory bags, generating a single-molecule DNA-segment spectral-states library. This library trains a 12-class CNN to assign query time-resolved DNA SM-SERS frames to high-confidence DNA-segment states, enabling trajectory-level analysis of state composition, dwell length, entropy, switching frequency, and transition matrix. The transition matrix is further converted into state-transition-edge evidence for candidate sequence scoring, enabling asymmetric DNA sequences inference from confined stochastic sampling dynamics. This framework transforms SM-SERS heterogeneity into quantitative analytical information, advancing dynamic single-molecule decoding.

Adaptive Dead-Zone Dual Sliding Mode Observer for Reliable Electrochemical Model-Based SOC Estimation

Accurate state of charge (SOC) estimation is critical for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles and energy storage systems. Electrochemical models provide high fidelity for SOC estimation but introduce challenges due to parameter variations, nonlinearities, and computational complexity. To address these issues, this paper proposes an adaptive dead-zone dual sliding mode observer(SMO) based on an improved electrochemical single-particle model. The algorithm integrates a state observer for SOC estimation and a parameter observer for online parameter adaptation. A Lyapunov-derived adaptive dead-zone is introduced to ensure stability, activating parameter updates only when the terminal voltage error lies within a rigorously defined bound. The proposed method was validated under constant-current and UDDS dynamic conditions. Results demonstrate that the adaptive dead-zone dual SMO achieves superior accuracy compared with conventional dual SMO and equivalent circuit model-based EKF methods, maintaining SOC estimation errors within 0.2% under correct initialization and below 1% under a 30% initial SOC error, with rapid convergence. Computational efficiency analysis further shows that the adaptive dead-zone dual sliding mode observer reduces execution time compared with the conventional dual SMO by limiting unnecessary parameter updates, highlighting its suitability for real-time battery management applications. Moreover, robustness under battery aging was confirmed using a cycle-aging model, where the adaptive dead-zone dual SMO maintained stable SOC estimation despite parameter drift. These findings indicate that the proposed method offers a reliable, accurate, and computationally efficient solution for SOC estimation.

Closed vacuum static spaces with closed conformal vector fields

This article aims to classify closed vacuum static spaces with a non-Killing closed conformal vector field. We firstly provide several characterizations of the conditions under which the first derivative of the warping function fulfills the vacuum static equation. Then we establish an identity involving the characteristic function of a conformal vector field on a Riemannian manifold. As applications, we derive a rigidity theorem on closed Riemannian manifolds with a non-Killing closed conformal vector field under suitable conditions and classify closed vacuum static spaces admitting such a vector field.

LaDA: Latent Dialogue Action For Zero-shot Cross-lingual Neural Network Language Modeling

Cross-lingual adaptation has proven effective in spoken language understanding (SLU) systems with limited resources. Existing methods are frequently unsatisfactory for intent detection and slot filling, particularly for distant languages that differ significantly from the source language in scripts, morphology, and syntax. Latent Dialogue Action (LaDA) layer is proposed to optimize decoding strategy in order to address the aforementioned issues. The model consists of an additional layer of latent dialogue action. It enables our model to improve a system's capability of handling conversations with complex multilingual intent and slot values of distant languages. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first exhaustive investigation of the use of latent variables for optimizing cross-lingual SLU policy during the decode stage. LaDA obtains state-of-the-art results on public datasets for both zero-shot and few-shot adaptation.

I3CL:Intra- and Inter-Instance Collaborative Learning for Arbitrary-shaped Scene Text Detection

Existing methods for arbitrary-shaped text detection in natural scenes face two critical issues, i.e., 1) fracture detections at the gaps in a text instance; and 2) inaccurate detections of arbitrary-shaped text instances with diverse background context. To address these issues, we propose a novel method named Intra- and Inter-Instance Collaborative Learning (I3CL). Specifically, to address the first issue, we design an effective convolutional module with multiple receptive fields, which is able to collaboratively learn better character and gap feature representations at local and long ranges inside a text instance. To address the second issue, we devise an instance-based transformer module to exploit the dependencies between different text instances and a global context module to exploit the semantic context from the shared background, which are able to collaboratively learn more discriminative text feature representation. In this way, I3CL can effectively exploit the intra- and inter-instance dependencies together in a unified end-to-end trainable framework. Besides, to make full use of the unlabeled data, we design an effective semi-supervised learning method to leverage the pseudo labels via an ensemble strategy. Without bells and whistles, experimental results show that the proposed I3CL sets new state-of-the-art results on three challenging public benchmarks, i.e., an F-measure of 77.5% on ICDAR2019-ArT, 86.9% on Total-Text, and 86.4% on CTW-1500. Notably, our I3CL with the ResNeSt-101 backbone ranked 1st place on the ICDAR2019-ArT leaderboard. Toda lattices with indefinite metric II: Topology of the iso-spectral manifolds

We consider the iso-spectral real manifolds of tridiagonal Hessenberg matrices with real eigenvalues. The manifolds are described by the iso-spectral flows of indefinite Toda lattice equations introduced by the authors [Physica, 91D (1996), 321-339]. These Toda lattices consist of $2^{N-1}$ different systems with hamiltonians $H = (1/2) \sum_{k=1}^{N} y_k^2 + \sum_{k=1}^{N-1} s_ks_{k+1} \exp(x_k-x_{k+1})$, where $s_i=\pm 1$. We compactify the manifolds by adding infinities according to the Toda flows which blow up in finite time except the case with all $s_is_{i+1}=1$. The resulting manifolds are shown to be nonorientable for $N>2$, and the symmetric group is the semi-direct product of $(\ZZ_2)^{N-1}$ and the permutation group $S_N$. These properties identify themselves with ``small covers'' introduced by Davis and Januszkiewicz [Duke Mathematical Journal, 62 (1991), 417-451]. As a corollary of our construction, we give a formula on the total numbers of zeroes for a system of exponential polynomials generated as Hankel determinant.

Iso-spectral deformations of general matrix and their reductions on Lie algebras

We study an iso-spectral deformation of general matrix which is a natural generalization of the Toda lattice equation. We prove the integrability of the deformation, and give an explicit formula for the solution to the initial value problem. The formula is obtained by generalizing the orthogonalization procedure of Szegö. Based on the root spaces for simple Lie algebras, we consider several reductions of the hierarchy. These include not only the integrable systems studied by Bogoyavlensky and Kostant, but also their generalizations which were not known to be integrable before. The behaviors of the solutions are also studied. Generically, there are two types of solutions, having either sorting property or blowing up to infinity in finite time.

Toda Hierarchy with Indefinite Metric

We consider a generalization of the full symmetric Toda hierarchy where the matrix $\tilde {L}$ of the Lax pair is given by $\tilde {L}=LS$, with a full symmetric matrix $L$ and a nondegenerate diagonal matrix $S$. The key feature of the hierarchy is that the inverse scattering data includes a class of noncompact groups of matrices, such as $O(p,q)$. We give an explicit formula for the solution to the initial value problem of this hierarchy. The formula is obtained by generalizing the orthogonalization procedure of Szegö, or the QR factorization method of Symes. The behaviors of the solutions are also studied. Generically, there are two types of solutions, having either sorting property or blowing up to infinity in finite time. The $τ$-function structure for the tridiagonal hierarchy is also studied.
