Dynamical Horizon Entropy Bound Conjecture in Loop Quantum Cosmology

The covariant entropy bound conjecture is an important hint for the quantum gravity, with several versions available in the literature. For cosmology, Ashtekar and Wilson-Ewing ever show the consistence between the loop gravity theory and one version of this conjecture. Recently, S. He and H. Zhang proposed a version for the dynamical horizon of the universe, which validates the entropy bound conjecture for the cosmology filled with perfect fluid in the classical scenario when the universe is far away from the big bang singularity. However, their conjecture breaks down near big bang region. We examine this conjecture in the context of the loop quantum cosmology. With the example of photon gas, this conjecture is protected by the quantum geometry effects as expected.

Dynamical behavior of interacting dark energy in loop quantum cosmology

The dynamical behaviors of interacting dark energy in loop quantum cosmology are discussed in this paper. Based on defining three dimensionless variables, we simplify the equations of the fixed points. The fixed points for interacting dark energy can be determined by the Friedmann equation coupled with the dynamical equations {in Einstein cosmology}. But in loop quantum cosmology, besides the Friedmann equation, the conversation equation also give a constrain on the fixed points. The difference of stability properties for the fixed points in loop quantum cosmology and the ones in Einstein cosmology also have been discussed.

Thermodynamics properties of the dark energy in loop quantum cosmology

Considering an arbitrary, varying equation of the state parameter, the thermodynamic properties of the dark energy fluid in a semiclassical loop quantum cosmology scenario, which we consider the inverse volume modification, is studied. The equation of the state parameters are corrected as a semiclassical one during considering the effective behavior. Assuming that the apparent horizon has Hawking temperature, the modified entropy-area relation is obtained, we find that this relation is different from the one which is obtained by considering the holonomy correction. Considering the dark energy is a thermal equilibrium fluid, we get the expressions for modified temperature, chemical potential and entropy. The temperature, chemical potential and entropy are well-defined in the semiclassical regions.

Ternary Social Networks: Dynamic Balance and Self-Organized Criticality

Antal et al. [Phys. Rev. E \textbf{72}, 036121 (2005)] have studied the balance dynamics on the social networks. In this paper, based on the model proposed by Antal et al., we improve it and generalize the binary social networks to the ternary social networks. When the social networks get dynamically balanced, we obtain the distributions of each relation and the time needed for dynamic balance. Besides, we study the self-organized criticality on the ternary social networks based on our model. For the ternary social networks evolving to the sensitive state, any small disturbance may result in an avalanche. The occurrence of the avalanche satisfies the power-law form both spatially and temporally. Numerical results verify our theoretical expectations.

Tachyon field in loop quantum cosmology: An example of traversable singularity

Loop quantum cosmology (LQC) predicts a nonsingular evolution of the universe through a bounce in the high energy region. But LQC has an ambiguity about the quantization scheme. Recently, the authors in [Phys. Rev. D 77, 124008 (2008)] proposed a new quantization scheme. Similar to others, this new quantization scheme also replaces the big bang singularity with the quantum bounce. More interestingly, it introduces a quantum singularity, which is traversable. We investigate this novel dynamics quantitatively with a tachyon scalar field, which gives us a concrete example. Our result shows that our universe can evolve through the quantum singularity regularly, which is different from the classical big bang singularity. So this singularity is only a week singularity.

Averaged null energy condition in Loop Quantum Cosmology

Wormhole and time machine are very interesting objects in general relativity. However, they need exotic matters which are impossible in classical level to support them. But if we introduce the quantum effects of gravity into the stress-energy tensor, these peculiar objects can be constructed self-consistently. Fortunately, loop quantum cosmology (LQC) has the potential to serve as a bridge connecting the classical theory and quantum gravity. Therefore it provides a simple way for the study of quantum effect in the semiclassical case. As is well known, loop quantum cosmology is very successful to deal with the behavior of early universe. In the early stage, if taken the quantum effect into consideration, inflation is natural because of the violation of every kind of local energy conditions. Similar to the inflationary universe, the violation of the averaged null energy condition is the necessary condition for the traversable wormholes. In this paper, we investigate the averaged null energy condition in LQC in the framework of effective Hamiltonian, and find out that LQC do violate the averaged null energy condition in the massless scalar field coupled model.

Thermodynamics in Loop Quantum Cosmology

Loop quantum cosmology (LQC) is very powerful to deal with the behavior of early universe. And the effective loop quantum cosmology gives a successful description of the universe in the semiclassical region. We consider the apparent horizon of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe as a thermodynamical system and investigate the thermodynamics of LQC in the semiclassical region. The effective density and effective pressure in the modified Friedmann equation from LQC not only determine the evolution of the universe in LQC scenario but are actually also found to be the thermodynamic quantities. This result comes from the energy definition in cosmology (the Misner-Sharp gravitational energy) and is consistent with thermodynamic laws. We prove that within the framework of loop quantum cosmology, the elementary equation of equilibrium thermodynamics is still valid.

Effect of the Inverse Volume Modification in Loop Quantum Cosmology

It is known that in loop quantum cosmology (LQC) the universe avoids the singularity by a bounce when the matter density approaches the critical density $ρ_c$ (the order of Planck density). After incorporating the inverse volume modifications both in the gravitational and matter part in the improved framework of LQC, we find that the inverse volume modification can decrease the bouncing energy scale, and the presence of nonsingular bounce is generic. For the backward evolution in the expanding branch, in terms of different initial states the evolution trajectories classify into two classes. One class with larger initial energy density leads to the occurrence of bounce in the region $a>a_{ch}$ where $a_{ch}$ marks the different inverse volume modification region. The other class with smaller initial energy density evolves back into the region $a<a_{ch}$. In this region, both the energy density for the scalar field and the bouncing energy scale decrease with the backward evolution. However, in the deep modification region, because of the inverse volume modification the scalar field is frozen, such that the bounce is present when the bouncing energy scale decreases to be equal to the energy density of the scalar field. Using numerical method, we show the evolution picture for the second class bounce.

Tachyon field in Loop Quantum Cosmology: inflation and evolution picture

Loop quantum cosmology (LQC) predicts a nonsingular evolution of the universe through a bounce in the high energy region. We show that this is always true in tachyon matter LQC. Different from the classical Friedman-Robertson-Walker (FRW) cosmology, the super inflation can appear in the tachyon matter LQC; furthermore, the inflation can be extended to the region where classical inflation stops. Using numerical method, we give an evolution picture of the tachyon field with an exponential potential in the context of LQC. It indicates that the quantum dynamical solutions have the attractive behavior as the classical solutions do. The whole evolution of the tachyon field is that in the distant past, the tachyon field--being in the contracting cosmology--is accelerates to climb up the potential hill with a negative velocity; then at the boundary the tachyon field is bounced into an expanding universe with positive velocity rolling down to the bottom of the potential. In the slow roll limit, we compare the quantum inflation with the classical case in both an analytic and numerical way.

Hawking radiation as tunneling from Gravity's rainbow

Planck scale corrections arising from deformed special relativity on Hawking radiation in Parikh and Wilczk's tunneling framework are studied. We calculate the emission rate of massless particles tunneling though the corrected horizon of modified black holes from gravity's rainbow. In the tunneling process, when a particle get across the quantum horizon, the metric fluctuation not only due to the energy conservation but also quantum effects of the space-time are taken into account. Our results show that, the emission rate is related to the changes of the black hole's quantum corrected entropy and consistent with an underlying unitary theory. In the modified black hole, by using black hole thermodynamics, a series of quantum correction terms including a logarithmic term to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy are obtained. Correspondingly, the Planck scale corrected emission spectrum is obtained and it deviates from the thermal spectrum.

Asymptotic quasinormal modes of scalar field in a gravity's rainbow

In the context of a gravity's rainbow, the asymptotic quasinormal modes of the scalar perturbation in the quantum modified Schwarzschild black holes are investigated. By using the monodromy method, we calculated and obtained the asymptotic quasinormal frequencies, which are dominated not only by the mass parameter of the spacetime, but also by the energy functions from the modified dispersion relations. However, the real parts of the asymptotic quasinormal modes is still $T_H\ln 3$, which is consistent with Hod's conjecture. In addition, for the quantum corrected black hole, the area spacing is calculated and the result is independent of the energy functions, in spite of the area itself is energy dependence. And that, by relating the area spectrum to loop quantum gravity, the Barbero-Immirzi parameter is given and it remains the same as from the usual black hole.

Violation of Strong Energy Condition in Effective Loop Quantum Cosmology

In loop quantum cosmology nonperturbative modification to a scalar matter field at short scales implies inflation which also means a violation of the strong energy condition. In the framework of effective Hamiltonian we discuss the issue of violation of the strong energy condition in the presence of quantum geometry potential. It shows that the appearance of quantum geometry potential strengthens the violation of the strong energy condition in small volume regions. In the small volume regions superinflation can easily happen. Furthermore, when the evolution of the universe approaches the bounce scale, this trend of violating the strong energy condition can be greatly amplified.

Self-organized critical behavior: the evolution of frozen spin networks model in quantum gravity

In quantum gravity, we study the evolution of a two-dimensional planar open frozen spin network, in which the color (i.e. the twice spin of an edge) labeling edge changes but the underlying graph remains fixed. The mainly considered evolution rule, the random edge model, is depending on choosing an edge randomly and changing the color of it by an even integer. Since the change of color generally violate the gauge invariance conditions imposed on the system, detailed propagation rule is needed and it can be defined in many ways. Here, we provided one new propagation rule, in which the involved even integer is not a constant one as in previous works, but changeable with certain probability. In random edge model, we do find the evolution of the system under the propagation rule exhibits power-law behavior, which is suggestive of the self-organized criticality (SOC), and it is the first time to verify the SOC behavior in such evolution model for the frozen spin network. Furthermore, the increase of the average color of the spin network in time can show the nature of inflation for the universe.

Particle Radiation From Gibbons-Maeda Black Hole

This paper investigates the particle radiation from Gibbons-Maeda black hole. Taking into account the self-gravitation of the particle, we calculate the tunnelling rate of the massless particle across the horizon, then we promote the work to the radiation of the charged particle. The calculations prove that the rate of tunnelling equals precisely the exponent of the difference of the black hole entropy before and after emission and the radiation spectrum deviates from exact thermal. The conclusion supports the viewpoint of information conservation.

Two-dimensional small-world networks: navigation with local information

Navigation process is studied on a variant of the Watts-Strogatz small world network model embedded on a square lattice. With probability $p$, each vertex sends out a long range link, and the probability of the other end of this link falling on a vertex at lattice distance $r$ away decays as $ r^{-α}$. Vertices on the network have knowledge of only their nearest neighbors. In a navigation process, messages are forwarded to a designated target. For $α<3$ and $α\neq 2$, a scaling relation is found between the average actual path length and $pL$, where $L$ is the average length of the additional long range links. Given $pL>1$, dynamic small world effect is observed, and the behavior of the scaling function at large enough $pL$ is obtained. At $α=2$ and 3, this kind of scaling breaks down, and different functions of the average actual path length are obtained. For $α>3$, the average actual path length is nearly linear with network size.

Casimir effect for the massless Dirac field in two-dimensional Reissner-Nordström spacetime

In this paper, the two-dimensional Reissner-Nordström black hole is considered as a system of the Casimir type. In this background the Casimir effect for the massless Dirac field is discussed. The massless Dirac field is confined between two ``parallel plates'' separated by a distance $L$ and there is no particle current drilling through the boundaries. The vacuum expectation values of the stress tensor of the massless Dirac field at infinity are calculated separately in the Boulware state, the Hartle-Hawking state and the Unruh state.

A dynamical evolution model on the black hole horizon

This paper demonstrates a dynamical evolution model of the black hole (BH) horizon. The result indicates that a kinetic area-cells model of the BH's horizon can model the evolution of BH due to the Hawking radiation, and this area-cell system can be considered as an interacting geometrical particle system. Thus the evolution turns into a problem of statistical physics. In the present work, this problem is treated in the framework of non-equilibrium statistics. It is proposed that each area-cell possesses the energy like a microscopic black hole, and has the gravitational interaction with the other area-cells. We consider both a non-interaction ideal system, and a system with small nearest-neighbor interactions, and obtain an analytic expression of the expected value of the horizon area of a dynamical BH. We find that, after a long enough evolution, a dynamical BH with the Hawking radiation can be in equilibrium with a finite temperature radiation field. However, we also find that, the system has a critical point, and when the temperature of the radiation field surrounding the BH approaches the critical temperature of the BH, a critical slowing down phenomenon occurs.

One-dimensional Ising model built on small-world networks: competing dynamics

In this paper, we offer a competing dynamic analysis of the one-dimensional Ising model built on the small-world network (SWN). Adding-type SWNs are investigated in detail using a simplified Hamiltonian of mean-field nature, and the result of rewiring-type is given because of the similarities of these two typical networks. We study the dynamical processes with competing Glauber mechanism and Kawasaki mechanism. The Glauber-type single-spin transition mechanism with probability p simulates the contact of the system with a heat bath and the Kawasaki-type dynamics with probability 1-p simulates an external energy flux. By studying the phase diagram obtained in the present work, we can realize some dynamical properties influenced by the small-world effect.
