Cooperative ISAC for LAE: Joint Trajectory Planning, Power allocation, and Dynamic Time Division

To enhance the performance of aerial-ground networks, this paper proposes an integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) framework for multi-UAV systems. In our model, ground base stations (BSs) cooperatively serve multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), employing a dynamic time-division strategy where beam scanning for sensing precedes data communication in each time slot. To maximize the sum communication rate while satisfying a mission-level cumulative radar mutual information (MI) requirement, we jointly optimize the UAV trajectories, communication and sensing power allocation, and the time-division ratio. The resulting highly coupled non-convex optimization problem is efficiently solved using an alternating optimization (AO) and successive convex approximation (SCA) framework, which yields a non-decreasing objective sequence and convergence to a finite objective value under the adopted surrogate-based iterative procedure. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that our proposed joint design significantly outperforms benchmark schemes with static trajectories, partially optimized resources, or non-cooperative single-BS transmission. Furthermore, a comprehensive sensitivity analysis reveals the distinct mechanisms by which sensing thresholds and the number of UAVs influence resource allocation and spatial organization, highlighting the critical importance of dynamic, multi-dimensional resource management for effectively navigating the sensing-communication trade-off in low-altitude economies.

CRS-LLM: Cooperative Beam Prediction with a GPT-Style Backbone and Switch-Gated Fusion

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication depends on highly directional beamforming, while fast mobility, blockage, and rapid geometry changes in vehicle-to-everything (V2X) scenarios make beam tracking challenging. In cooperative multi-base-station (BS) systems, conventional hierarchical methods usually separate BS selection and beam selection, which may cause error propagation when beam states change abruptly. To address this issue, this paper proposes Cooperative Radio Sensing with Large Language Models (CRS-LLM), a cooperative beam prediction framework for next-step joint BS-beam prediction. CRS-LLM formulates beam tracking as a single classification problem over the joint BS-beam space, avoiding cascaded decision errors. To adapt channel state information (CSI) to large language models, a dual-view CSI tokenizer extracts frequency-domain and delay-domain channel features through a lightweight CNN front-end and temporal tokenization module. A truncated GPT-style backbone is then used for temporal modeling with parameter-efficient adaptation. In addition, a transition-aware switch-gated predictor combines a stable branch, a residual flip branch, and a low-rank transition prior to capture both smooth evolution and abrupt changes. Simulation results show that CRS-LLM outperforms CSI-Transformer, Hierarchical BS-Beam, and representative CNN- and recurrent-neural-network baselines in Top-1 accuracy and normalized beam gain under different SNR conditions, while also showing strong few-shot performance and promising zero-shot transferability.

A Framework for Uplink ISAC Receiver Designs: Performance Analysis and Algorithm Development

Uplink integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems have recently emerged as a promising research direction, enabling simultaneous uplink signal detection and target sensing. {In this paper, we propose the flexible projection (FP)-type receiver that unifies the projection-type receiver and the successive interference cancellation (SIC)-type receiver by using a flexible tradeoff factor to adapt to dynamically changing uplink ISAC scenarios.} The FP-type receiver addresses the joint signal detection and target response estimation problem through two coordinated phases: 1) Communication signal detection using a reconstructed signal whose composition is controlled by the tradeoff factor, followed by 2) Target response estimation performed through subtraction of the detected communication signal from the received signal. With adjustable tradeoff factors, the FP-type receiver can balance the enhancement of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) with the reduction of correlation in the reconstructed signal for communication signal detection. The pairwise error probability (PEP) expressions are analyzed for both the maximum likelihood (ML) and the zero-forcing (ZF) detectors, revealing that the optimal tradeoff factor should be determined based on the adopted detection algorithm and the relative power of the sensing and communication (S\&C) signals. A homotopy optimization framework is first applied for the FP-type receiver with a fixed tradeoff factor. This framework is then extended to develop the dynamic flexible projection (DFP)-type receiver, which iteratively adjusts the tradeoff factor for improved algorithm performance and environmental adaptability. Finally, we show that the length of the jointly processed signal should scale with the antenna size to fully unleash the potential of the uplink ISAC receiver.

Robust Cross-Domain WiFi Fall Detection via Physics-Driven Attention-Enhanced Transformers

Device-free fall detection utilizing WiFi Channel State Information (CSI) has emerged as a promising, privacy-preserving solution for elderly health monitoring in the Internet of Things (IoT) era. However, existing deep learning approaches suffer from severe performance degradation when deployed in unseen environments due to static background overfitting and Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) signal attenuation. To address these critical bottlenecks, we propose a robust, domain-generalizable framework featuring a novel Attention-Enhanced CNN-Transformer hybrid architecture. First, we design a physics-driven \textbf{Dynamic Variance Gate (DVG)} to dynamically calculate local temporal variance, acting as a soft-attention mask that eliminates static environmental DC components while amplifying dynamic human motion. Second, we introduce a Physics-Aware Data Augmentation strategy to force the network to learn invariant morphological signatures rather than environment-specific noise. Furthermore, a Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) is integrated to refine spatiotemporal features prior to Transformer-based sequence modeling. Extensive cross-domain evaluations across four distinct indoor environments demonstrate that our method achieves 97.6\% accuracy in NLoS scenarios and 98.8\% in completely unseen environments without target-domain fine-tuning. Finally, we deploy the proposed framework on an edge computing system equipped with commercial WiFi NICs. Real-world live inference field tests confirm the system's robustness against unseen environmental layouts and its capability for continuous, low-latency whole-home safety monitoring.

Low-Altitude Wireless Networks: A Comprehensive Survey

The rapid development of the low-altitude economy has imposed unprecedented demands on wireless infrastructure to accommodate large-scale drone deployments and facilitate intelligent services in dynamic airspace environments. However, unlocking its full potential in practical applications presents significant challenges. Traditional aerial systems predominantly focus on air-ground communication services, often neglecting the integration of sensing, computation, control, and energy-delivering functions, which hinders the ability to meet diverse mission-critical demands. Besides, the absence of systematic low-altitude airspace planning and management exacerbates issues regarding dynamic interference in three-dimensional space, coverage instability, and scalability. To overcome these challenges, a comprehensive framework, termed low-altitude wireless network (LAWN), has emerged to seamlessly integrate communication, sensing, computation, control, and air traffic management into a unified design. This article provides a comprehensive overview of LAWN systems, introducing LAWN system fundamentals and the evolution of functional designs. Subsequently, we delve into performance evaluation metrics and review critical concerns surrounding privacy and security in the open-air network environment. Finally, we present the cutting-edge developments in airspace structuring and air traffic management, providing insights to facilitate the practical deployment of LAWNs.

Ground Reflection-Aided TomoSAR Imaging with 5G NR Signals

Tomographic synthetic aperture radar (TomoSAR) enables three-dimensional imaging by resolving targets along the elevation dimension, which is essential for environment reconstruction and infrastructure monitoring. A critical challenge in TomoSAR is the severe multipath propagation that causes ghost targets, range offsets, and elevation ambiguities. To address this, this paper proposes an enhanced Newtonized orthogonal matching pursuit (NOMP) algorithm to extract the delay, Doppler, and complex amplitude parameters of each propagation path, effectively separating line-of-sight (LoS) and multipath components prior to TomoSAR processing. Additionally, a height fusion strategy combining TomoSAR estimates with LoS-ground reflection delay-based inversion improves elevation accuracy. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves improved positioning and elevation accuracy while effectively suppressing multipath-induced artifacts.

A BEV-Fusion Based Framework for Sequential Multi-Modal Beam Prediction in mmWave Systems

Beam prediction is critical for reducing beam-training overhead in millimeter-wave (mmWave) systems, especially in high-mobility vehicular scenarios. This paper presents a BEV-Fusion based framework that unifies camera, LiDAR, radar, and GPS modalities in a shared bird's-eye-view (BEV) representation for spatially consistent multi-modal fusion. Unlike priorapproaches that fuse globally pooled one-dimensional features, the proposed method performs fusion in BEV space to preservecross-modal geometric structure and visual semantic density. A learned camera-to-BEV module based on cross-attention is adopted to generate BEV-aligned visual features without relying on precise camera calibration, and a temporal transformer is used to aggregate five-step sequential observations for motion-aware beam prediction. Experiments on the DeepSense 6G benchmark show that BEV-Fusion achieves approximately 87% distance- based accuracy (DBA) on scenarios 32, 33 and 34, outperforming the TransFuser baseline. These results indicate that BEV-space fusion provides an effective spatial abstraction for sensing-assisted beam prediction.

Rotatable Antenna-array-enhanced Direction-sensing for Low-altitude Communication Network: Method and Performance

In a practical multi-antenna receiver, each element of the receive antenna array has a directive antenna pattern, which is still not fully explored and investigated in academia and industry until now. When the emitter is deviated greatly from the normal direction of antenna element or is close to the null-point direction, the sensing energy by array will be seriously attenuated such that the direction-sensing performance is degraded significantly. To address such an issue, a rotatable array system is established with the directive antenna pattern of each element taken into account, where each element has the same antenna pattern. Then, the corresponding the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) is derived. Finally, a recursive rotation Root-MUSIC (RR-Root-MUSIC) direction-sensing method is proposed and its root-mean-squared-error (RMSE) performance is evaluated by the derived CRLB. Simulation results show that the proposed rotation method converges rapidly with about ten iterations, and make a significant enhancement on the direction-sensing accuracy in terms of RMSE when the target direction departs seriously far away from the normal vector of array. Compared with conventional Root-MUSIC, the sensing performance of the proposed RR-Root-MUSIC method is much closer to the CRLB.

AMBER: An Adaptive Multimodal Mask Transformer for Beam Prediction with Missing Modalities

With the widespread adoption of millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) in vehicular networks, accurate beam prediction and alignment have become critical for high-speed data transmission and reliable access. While traditional beam prediction approaches primarily rely on in-band beam training, recent advances have started to explore multimodal sensing to extract environmental semantics for enhanced prediction. However, the performance of existing multimodal fusion methods degrades significantly in real-world settings because they are vulnerable to missing data caused by sensor blockage, poor lighting, or GPS dropouts. To address this challenge, we propose AMBER ({A}daptive multimodal {M}ask transformer for {BE}am p{R}ediction), a novel end-to-end framework that processes temporal sequences of image, LiDAR, radar, and GPS data, while adaptively handling arbitrary missing-modality cases. AMBER introduces learnable modality tokens and a missing-modality-aware mask to prevent cross-modal noise propagation, along with a learnable fusion token and multihead attention to achieve robust modality-specific information distillation and feature-level fusion. Furthermore, a class-former-aided modality alignment (CMA) module and temporal-aware positional embedding are incorporated to preserve temporal coherence and ensure semantic alignment across modalities, facilitating the learning of modality-invariant and temporally consistent representations for beam prediction. Extensive experiments on the real-world DeepSense6G dataset demonstrate that AMBER significantly outperforms existing multimodal learning baselines. In particular, it maintains high beam prediction accuracy and robustness even under severe missing-modality scenarios, validating its effectiveness and practical applicability.

Reinforcement Learning-Based Secure Near-field Directional Modulation Enhanced by Rotatable RIS

This paper investigates secure Directional Modulation (DM) design enhanced by a rotatable active Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS). In conventional RIS-assisted DM networks, the security performance gain is limited due to the multiplicative path loss introduced by the RIS reflection path. To address this challenge, a Secrecy Rate (SR) maximization problem is formulated, subject to constraints including the eavesdropper's Direction Of Arrival (DOA) estimation performance, transmit power, rotatable range, and maximum reflection amplitude of the RIS elements. To solve this non-convex optimization problem, three algorithms are proposed: a multi-stream null-space projection and leakage-based method, an enhanced leakage-based method, and an optimization scheme based on the Distributed Soft Actor-Critic with Three refinements (DSAC-T). Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms. A performance trade-off is observed between eavesdropper's DOA estimation accuracy and the achievable SR. The security enhancement provided by the RIS is more significant in systems equipped with a small number of antennas. By optimizing the orientation of the RIS, a 52.6\% improvement in SR performance can be achieved.

Enhancing AAV-Enabled Secure Communications via Synthetic Aperture Beamforming

In this paper, we consider a synthetic aperture secure beamforming approach for a virtual multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) broadcast channel in the presence of hybrid wiretapping environments. Our goal is to design the flight node deployment constructed by a single-antenna mobile autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV), corresponding transmission symbol strategy, transmit precoding, and received beamforming to maximize the system channel capacity. Leveraging the synthetic aperture beamforming, we aim to provide spatial gain along a predefined angle in free space while reducing it in others and thus enhance physical layer (PHY) security. To this end, we analyze the expression of the asymptotic channel eigenvalues to optimize the AAV flight node deployment. For the optimal precoding design, an energy-efficient method that minimizes the transmit power consumption is studied based on the given virtual MIMO channel, while meeting the quality of service (QoS) for the base station (BS), leakage tolerance of eavesdroppers (Eves), and per-node power constraints. The power minimization problem is a non convex program, which is then reformulated as a tractable form after some mathematical manipulations. Moreover, we design the received beamforming by applying the linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) method such that the jamming can be effectively suppressed. Numerical results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method in promoting capacity.

TokenCom: Vision-Language Model for Multimodal and Multitask Token Communications

Visual-Language Models (VLMs), with their strong capabilities in image and text understanding, offer a solid foundation for intelligent communications. However, their effectiveness is constrained by limited token granularity, overlong visual token sequences, and inadequate cross-modal alignment. To overcome these challenges, we propose TaiChi, a novel VLM framework designed for token communications. TaiChi adopts a dual-visual tokenizer architecture that processes both high- and low-resolution images to collaboratively capture pixel-level details and global conceptual features. A Bilateral Attention Network (BAN) is introduced to intelligently fuse multi-scale visual tokens, thereby enhancing visual understanding and producing compact visual tokens. In addition, a Kolmogorov Arnold Network (KAN)-based modality projector with learnable activation functions is employed to achieve precise nonlinear alignment from visual features to the text semantic space, thus minimizing information loss. Finally, TaiChi is integrated into a multimodal and multitask token communication system equipped with a joint VLM-channel coding scheme. Experimental results validate the superior performance of TaiChi, as well as the feasibility and effectiveness of the TaiChi-driven token communication system.

Score-Based Conditional Flow Models for MIMO Receiver Design with Superimposed Pilots

Accurate channel state information (CSI) is vital for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. However, superimposed pilots (SIP), which reduce overhead, introduce severe pilot contamination and data interference, complicating joint channel estimation and data detection. This paper proposes a conditional flow matching receiver (CFM-Rx), an unsupervised generative framework that learns directly from received signals, eliminating the need for labeled data and improving adaptability across diverse system settings. By leveraging flow-based generative modeling, CFM-Rx enables deterministic, low-latency inference and exploits model invertibility to capture the bidirectional nature of signal propagation. This framework unifies flow matching with score-based diffusion modeling via a moment-consistent ordinary differential equation (ODE), replacing stochastic differential equation (SDE) sampling with a deterministic and efficient process. Furthermore, it integrates receiver-side priors to ensure stable, data-consistent inference. Extensive simulation results across various MIMO configurations demonstrate that CFM-Rx consistently outperforms conventional estimators and state-of-the-art data-driven receivers, achieving notable gains in channel estimation accuracy and symbol detection robustness, particularly under severe pilot contamination.

Experimental Performance of Bidirectional Phase Coherent Transmission and Sensing for mmWave Cell-free Massive MIMO Systems with Reciprocity Calibration

Phase synchronization among distributed transmission reception points (TRPs) is a prerequisite for enabling coherent joint transmission and high-precision sensing in millimeter wave (mmWave) cell-free massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems. This paper proposes a bidirectional calibration scheme and a calibration coefficient estimation method for phase synchronization, and presents a calibration coefficient phase tracking method using unilateral uplink/downlink channel state information (CSI). Furthermore, this paper introduces the use of reciprocity calibration to eliminate non-ideal factors in sensing and leverages sensing results to achieve calibration coefficient phase tracking in dynamic scenarios, thus enabling bidirectional empowerment of both communication and sensing. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively implement reciprocal calibration with lower overhead, enabling coherent collaborative transmission, and resolving non-ideal factors to acquire lower sensing error in sensing applications. Experimental results show that, in the mmWave band, over-the-air (OTA) bidirectional calibration enables coherent collaborative transmission for both collaborative TRPs and collaborative user equipments (UEs), achieving beamforming gain and long-time coherent sensing capabilities.

Data Heterogeneity-Aware Client Selection for Federated Learning in Wireless Networks

Federated Learning (FL) enables mobile edge devices, functioning as clients, to collaboratively train a decentralized model while ensuring local data privacy. However, the efficiency of FL in wireless networks is limited not only by constraints on communication and computational resources but also by significant data heterogeneity among clients, particularly in large-scale networks. This paper first presents a theoretical analysis of the impact of client data heterogeneity on global model generalization error, which can result in repeated training cycles, increased energy consumption, and prolonged latency. Based on the theoretical insights, an optimization problem is formulated to jointly minimize learning latency and energy consumption while constraining generalization error. A joint client selection and resource allocation (CSRA) approach is then proposed, employing a series of convex optimization and relaxation techniques. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that the proposed CSRA scheme yields higher test accuracy, reduced learning latency, and lower energy consumption compared to baseline methods that do not account for data heterogeneity.

WiFi-based Cross-Domain Gesture Recognition Using Attention Mechanism

While fulfilling communication tasks, wireless signals can also be used to sense the environment. Among various types of sensing media, WiFi signals offer advantages such as widespread availability, low hardware cost, and strong robustness to environmental conditions like light, temperature, and humidity. By analyzing Wi-Fi signals in the environment, it is possible to capture dynamic changes of the human body and accomplish sensing applications such as gesture recognition. Although many existing gesture sensing solutions perform well in-domain but lack cross-domain capabilities (i.e., recognition performance in untrained environments). To address this, we extract Doppler spectra from the channel state information (CSI) received by all receivers and concatenate each Doppler spectrum along the same time axis to generate fused images with multi-angle information as input features. Furthermore, inspired by the convolutional block attention module (CBAM), we propose a gesture recognition network that integrates a multi-semantic spatial attention mechanism with a self-attention-based channel mechanism. This network constructs attention maps to quantify the spatiotemporal features of gestures in images, enabling the extraction of key domain-independent features. Additionally, ResNet18 is employed as the backbone network to further capture deep-level features. To validate the network performance, we evaluate the proposed network on the public Widar3 dataset, and the results show that it not only maintains high in-domain accuracy of 99.72%, but also achieves high performance in cross-domain recognition of 97.61%, significantly outperforming existing best solutions.
