An Action Is Worth One Patch: Unified World-Action Modeling with PatchWAM

Generative visual models offer a foundation for learning representations of physical dynamics, yet their extension to continuous control raises a fundamental question: do visual prediction and action generation require separate computational pathways? Existing approaches usually introduce trainable action heads or separate action experts to bridge low-dimensional states and high-dimensional visual representations. In this work, we explore whether the visual backbone's existing capacity can also support control when actions are expressed in a compatible representation. Thus, we introduce PatchWAM (Patch World-Action Model), which treats continuous actions as another type of patch through a fixed mapping called Action-as-Patch. This allows a single model to predict both how the robot should move and what the scene may look like afterward. Visual prediction and action generation become parts of the same generative process, without a dedicated action head or separate action expert. Experiments with subsampled training windows show gains over a matched dual-expert control, while benchmark evaluations reach 91.8% success rate on LIBERO-Plus and 96.12% on RoboTwin 2.0 in a full-data setting with additional augmented demonstrations. More broadly, the result suggests that capability need not be added where it can be inherited: the constraint on extending a generative backbone is the interface a new signal is written in, not the capacity to model it.

StrucPhysVideo: Learning Physical Dynamics from Structured Captions and Robot Actions

Modeling physical dynamics, including how objects move, interact, and change state, is central to video world models for embodied AI. We present StrucPhysVideo, a family of video world models that bridges physics-focused data curation with language- and action-conditioned prediction of scene evolution. Our data pipeline combines motion-aware video segmentation, quality and content filtering, and physical relevance verification with structured annotations of objects, materials, and temporally localized interactions. By disentangling camera motion from object behavior and explicitly describing contact, deformation, and state transitions, the pipeline provides supervision grounded in observable physical events. Building on these data, we introduce StrucPhysVideo-TI2V, a sparse Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) text-image-to-video model trained with a curriculum that progressively emphasizes physical dynamics while retaining general-domain video data. StrucPhysVideo-TI2V achieves state-of-the-art performance on Physics-IQ Verified, scoring 45.5% and outperforming Cosmos3-Super-Image2Video by 2.8 percentage points. Caption ablations across backbones further demonstrate the effectiveness of physics-focused supervision. We further extend StrucPhysVideo-TI2V to StrucPhysVideo-IA2V, an interactive image-action-to-video world model that predicts visual outcomes from robot end-effector commands. Action conditioning, causal autoregressive generation, and few-step distillation enable incremental robot rollouts with only four denoising steps. Together, StrucPhysVideo advances physical dynamics modeling from image- and language-conditioned video prediction toward action-driven interaction.

DualToken: Towards Unifying Visual Understanding and Generation with Dual Visual Vocabularies

The differing representation spaces required for visual understanding and generation pose a challenge in unifying them within the autoregressive paradigm of large language models. A vision tokenizer trained for reconstruction excels at capturing low-level visual appearance, making it well-suited for visual generation but lacking high-level semantic representations for understanding tasks. Conversely, a vision encoder trained via contrastive learning aligns well with language but struggles to decode back into the pixel space for generation tasks. To bridge this gap, we propose DualToken, a method that unifies representations for both understanding and generation within a single tokenizer. However, directly integrating reconstruction and semantic objectives creates conflicts, leading to degraded performance in both reconstruction fidelity and semantic accuracy. Instead of forcing a single codebook to capture both visual appearance and semantics, DualToken disentangles them by introducing separate codebooks for high-level semantics and low-level visual details. As a result, DualToken achieves 0.25 rFID and 82.0% zero-shot accuracy on ImageNet, and demonstrates strong effectiveness in downstream MLLM tasks for both understanding and generation. Specifically, our method surpasses VILA-U by 5.8 points on average across ten visual understanding benchmarks and delivers a 13% improvement on GenAI-Bench. Notably, incorporating dual visual tokens outperforms using a single token type on both understanding and generation tasks. We hope our research offers a new perspective on leveraging dual visual vocabularies for building unified vision-language models. Beyond Mamba: Enhancing State-space Models with Deformable Dilated Convolutions for Multi-scale Traffic Object Detection

In a real-world traffic scenario, varying-scale objects are usually distributed in a cluttered background, which poses great challenges to accurate detection. Although current Mamba-based methods can efficiently model long-range dependencies, they still struggle to capture small objects with abundant local details, which hinders joint modeling of local structures and global semantics. Moreover, state-space models exhibit limited hierarchical feature representation and weak cross-scale interaction due to flat sequential modeling and insufficient spatial inductive biases, leading to sub-optimal performance in complex scenes. To address these issues, we propose a Mamba with Deformable Dilated Convolutions Network (MDDCNet) for accurate traffic object detection in this study. In MDDCNet, a well-designed hybrid backbone with successive Multi-Scale Deformable Dilated Convolution (MSDDC) blocks and Mamba blocks enables hierarchical feature representation from local details to global semantics. Meanwhile, a Channel-Enhanced Feed-Forward Network (CE-FFN) is further devised to overcome the limited channel interaction capability of conventional feed-forward networks, whilst a Mamba-based Attention-Aggregating Feature Pyramid Network (A^2FPN) is constructed to achieve enhanced multi-scale feature fusion and interaction. Extensive experimental results on public benchmark and real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method over various advanced detectors. The code is available at https://github.com/Bettermea/MDDCNet.

InceptionMamba: An Efficient Hybrid Network with Large Band Convolution and Bottleneck Mamba

Within the family of convolutional neural networks, InceptionNeXt has shown excellent competitiveness in image classification and a number of downstream tasks. Built on parallel one-dimensional strip convolutions, however, it suffers from limited ability of capturing spatial dependencies along different dimensions and fails to fully explore spatial modeling in local neighborhood. Besides, inherent locality constraints of convolution operations are detrimental to effective global context modeling. To overcome these limitations, we propose a novel backbone architecture termed InceptionMamba in this study. More specifically, the traditional one-dimensional strip convolutions are replaced by orthogonal band convolutions in our InceptionMamba to achieve cohesive spatial modeling. Furthermore, global contextual modeling can be achieved via a bottleneck Mamba module, facilitating enhanced cross-channel information fusion and enlarged receptive field. Extensive evaluations on classification and various downstream tasks demonstrate that the proposed InceptionMamba achieves state-of-the-art performance with superior parameter and computational efficiency. The source code will be available at https://github.com/Wake1021/InceptionMamba.

Is Your LLM-Based Multi-Agent a Reliable Real-World Planner? Exploring Fraud Detection in Travel Planning

The rise of Large Language Model-based Multi-Agent Planning has leveraged advanced frameworks to enable autonomous and collaborative task execution. Some systems rely on platforms like review sites and social media, which are prone to fraudulent information, such as fake reviews or misleading descriptions. This reliance poses risks, potentially causing financial losses and harming user experiences. To evaluate the risk of planning systems in real-world applications, we introduce \textbf{WandaPlan}, an evaluation environment mirroring real-world data and injected with deceptive content. We assess system performance across three fraud cases: Misinformation Fraud, Team-Coordinated Multi-Person Fraud, and Level-Escalating Multi-Round Fraud. We reveal significant weaknesses in existing frameworks that prioritize task efficiency over data authenticity. At the same time, we validate WandaPlan's generalizability, capable of assessing the risks of real-world open-source planning frameworks. To mitigate the risk of fraud, we propose integrating an anti-fraud agent, providing a solution for reliable planning.

Understanding the Repeat Curse in Large Language Models from a Feature Perspective

Large language models (LLMs) have made remarkable progress in various domains, yet they often suffer from repetitive text generation, a phenomenon we refer to as the "Repeat Curse". While previous studies have proposed decoding strategies to mitigate repetition, the underlying mechanism behind this issue remains insufficiently explored. In this work, we investigate the root causes of repetition in LLMs through the lens of mechanistic interpretability. Inspired by recent advances in Sparse Autoencoders (SAEs), which enable monosemantic feature extraction, we propose a novel approach, "Duplicatus Charm", to induce and analyze the Repeat Curse. Our method systematically identifies "Repetition Features" -the key model activations responsible for generating repetitive outputs. First, we locate the layers most involved in repetition through logit analysis. Next, we extract and stimulate relevant features using SAE-based activation manipulation. To validate our approach, we construct a repetition dataset covering token and paragraph level repetitions and introduce an evaluation pipeline to quantify the influence of identified repetition features. Furthermore, by deactivating these features, we have effectively mitigated the Repeat Curse. The source code of our work is publicly available at: https://github.com/kaustpradalab/repeat-curse-llm

Progressive Class-level Distillation

In knowledge distillation (KD), logit distillation (LD) aims to transfer class-level knowledge from a more powerful teacher network to a small student model via accurate teacher-student alignment at the logits level. Since high-confidence object classes usually dominate the distillation process, low-probability classes which also contain discriminating information are downplayed in conventional methods, leading to insufficient knowledge transfer. To address this issue, we propose a simple yet effective LD method termed Progressive Class-level Distillation (PCD). In contrast to existing methods which perform all-class ensemble distillation, our PCD approach performs stage-wise distillation for step-by-step knowledge transfer. More specifically, we perform ranking on teacher-student logits difference for identifying distillation priority from scratch, and subsequently divide the entire LD process into multiple stages. Next, bidirectional stage-wise distillation incorporating fine-to-coarse progressive learning and reverse coarse-to-fine refinement is conducted, allowing comprehensive knowledge transfer via sufficient logits alignment within separate class groups in different distillation stages. Extension experiments on public benchmarking datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method compared to state-of-the-arts for both classification and detection tasks.

SAMKD: Spatial-aware Adaptive Masking Knowledge Distillation for Object Detection

Most of recent attention-guided feature masking distillation methods perform knowledge transfer via global teacher attention maps without delving into fine-grained clues. Instead, performing distillation at finer granularity is conducive to uncovering local details supplementary to global knowledge transfer and reconstructing comprehensive student features. In this study, we propose a Spatial-aware Adaptive Masking Knowledge Distillation (SAMKD) framework for accurate object detection. Different from previous feature distillation methods which mainly perform single-scale feature masking, we develop spatially hierarchical feature masking distillation scheme, such that the object-aware locality is encoded during coarse-to-fine distillation process for improved feature reconstruction. In addition, our spatial-aware feature distillation strategy is combined with a masking logit distillation scheme in which region-specific feature difference between teacher and student networks is utilized to adaptively guide the distillation process. Thus, it can help the student model to better learn from the teacher counterpart with improved knowledge transfer and reduced gap. Extensive experiments for detection task demonstrate the superiority of our method. For example, when FCOS is used as teacher detector with ResNet101 backbone, our method improves the student network from 35.3\% to 38.8\% mAP, outperforming state-of-the-art distillation methods including MGD, FreeKD and DMKD.

Baichuan-Audio: A Unified Framework for End-to-End Speech Interaction

We introduce Baichuan-Audio, an end-to-end audio large language model that seamlessly integrates audio understanding and generation. It features a text-guided aligned speech generation mechanism, enabling real-time speech interaction with both comprehension and generation capabilities. Baichuan-Audio leverages a pre-trained ASR model, followed by multi-codebook discretization of speech at a frame rate of 12.5 Hz. This multi-codebook setup ensures that speech tokens retain both semantic and acoustic information. To further enhance modeling, an independent audio head is employed to process audio tokens, effectively capturing their unique characteristics. To mitigate the loss of intelligence during pre-training and preserve the original capabilities of the LLM, we propose a two-stage pre-training strategy that maintains language understanding while enhancing audio modeling. Following alignment, the model excels in real-time speech-based conversation and exhibits outstanding question-answering capabilities, demonstrating its versatility and efficiency. The proposed model demonstrates superior performance in real-time spoken dialogue and exhibits strong question-answering abilities. BaichuanSEED: Sharing the Potential of ExtensivE Data Collection and Deduplication by Introducing a Competitive Large Language Model Baseline

The general capabilities of Large Language Models (LLM) highly rely on the composition and selection on extensive pretraining datasets, treated as commercial secrets by several institutions. To mitigate this issue, we open-source the details of a universally applicable data processing pipeline and validate its effectiveness and potential by introducing a competitive LLM baseline. Specifically, the data processing pipeline consists of broad collection to scale up and reweighting to improve quality. We then pretrain a 7B model BaichuanSEED with 3T tokens processed by our pipeline without any deliberate downstream task-related optimization, followed by an easy but effective supervised fine-tuning stage. BaichuanSEED demonstrates consistency and predictability throughout training and achieves comparable performance on comprehensive benchmarks with several commercial advanced large language models, such as Qwen1.5 and Llama3. We also conduct several heuristic experiments to discuss the potential for further optimization of downstream tasks, such as mathematics and coding.

DFMSD: Dual Feature Masking Stage-wise Knowledge Distillation for Object Detection

In recent years, current mainstream feature masking distillation methods mainly function by reconstructing selectively masked regions of a student network from the feature maps of a teacher network. In these methods, attention mechanisms can help to identify spatially important regions and crucial object-aware channel clues, such that the reconstructed features are encoded with sufficient discriminative and representational power similar to teacher features. However, previous feature-masking distillation methods mainly address homogeneous knowledge distillation without fully taking into account the heterogeneous knowledge distillation scenario. In particular, the huge discrepancy between the teacher and the student frameworks within the heterogeneous distillation paradigm is detrimental to feature masking, leading to deteriorating reconstructed student features. In this study, a novel dual feature-masking heterogeneous distillation framework termed DFMSD is proposed for object detection. More specifically, a stage-wise adaptation learning module is incorporated into the dual feature-masking framework, and thus the student model can be progressively adapted to the teacher models for bridging the gap between heterogeneous networks. Furthermore, a masking enhancement strategy is combined with stage-wise learning such that object-aware masking regions are adaptively strengthened to improve feature-masking reconstruction. In addition, semantic alignment is performed at each Feature Pyramid Network (FPN) layer between the teacher and the student networks for generating consistent feature distributions. Our experiments for the object detection task demonstrate the promise of our approach, suggesting that DFMSD outperforms both the state-of-the-art heterogeneous and homogeneous distillation methods.

M3GIA: A Cognition Inspired Multilingual and Multimodal General Intelligence Ability Benchmark

As recent multi-modality large language models (MLLMs) have shown formidable proficiency on various complex tasks, there has been increasing attention on debating whether these models could eventually mirror human intelligence. However, existing benchmarks mainly focus on evaluating solely on task performance, such as the accuracy of identifying the attribute of an object. Combining well-developed cognitive science to understand the intelligence of MLLMs beyond superficial achievements remains largely unexplored. To this end, we introduce the first cognitive-driven multi-lingual and multi-modal benchmark to evaluate the general intelligence ability of MLLMs, dubbed M3GIA. Specifically, we identify five key cognitive factors based on the well-recognized Cattell-Horn-Carrol (CHC) model of intelligence and propose a novel evaluation metric. In addition, since most MLLMs are trained to perform in different languages, a natural question arises: is language a key factor influencing the cognitive ability of MLLMs? As such, we go beyond English to encompass other languages based on their popularity, including Chinese, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Korean, to construct our M3GIA. We make sure all the data relevant to the cultural backgrounds are collected from their native context to avoid English-centric bias. We collected a significant corpus of data from human participants, revealing that the most advanced MLLM reaches the lower boundary of human intelligence in English. Yet, there remains a pronounced disparity in the other five languages assessed. We also reveals an interesting winner takes all phenomenon that are aligned with the discovery in cognitive studies. Our benchmark will be open-sourced, with the aspiration of facilitating the enhancement of cognitive capabilities in MLLMs.

OpenSight: A Simple Open-Vocabulary Framework for LiDAR-Based Object Detection

Traditional LiDAR-based object detection research primarily focuses on closed-set scenarios, which falls short in complex real-world applications. Directly transferring existing 2D open-vocabulary models with some known LiDAR classes for open-vocabulary ability, however, tends to suffer from over-fitting problems: The obtained model will detect the known objects, even presented with a novel category. In this paper, we propose OpenSight, a more advanced 2D-3D modeling framework for LiDAR-based open-vocabulary detection. OpenSight utilizes 2D-3D geometric priors for the initial discernment and localization of generic objects, followed by a more specific semantic interpretation of the detected objects. The process begins by generating 2D boxes for generic objects from the accompanying camera images of LiDAR. These 2D boxes, together with LiDAR points, are then lifted back into the LiDAR space to estimate corresponding 3D boxes. For better generic object perception, our framework integrates both temporal and spatial-aware constraints. Temporal awareness correlates the predicted 3D boxes across consecutive timestamps, recalibrating the missed or inaccurate boxes. The spatial awareness randomly places some ``precisely'' estimated 3D boxes at varying distances, increasing the visibility of generic objects. To interpret the specific semantics of detected objects, we develop a cross-modal alignment and fusion module to first align 3D features with 2D image embeddings and then fuse the aligned 3D-2D features for semantic decoding. Our experiments indicate that our method establishes state-of-the-art open-vocabulary performance on widely used 3D detection benchmarks and effectively identifies objects for new categories of interest.
