Generalized Rank Weight and Extended Generalized Poset Weight Defined For Codes Over Rings: A Galois Connection Approach

In this paper, we study generalized rank weights (GRWs) and extended generalized poset weight (EGPWs) of codes over rings via a Galois connection approach. First, we show that various coding-theoretic properties related to generalized weights, including security drops of a code employed in wire-tap channel of type II, connections between generalized weights of a Gabidulin code and its associated Delsarte code, (generalized) Singleton bound, MDS discrepancy of a code, characterizations of MDS, near MDS, $i$-MDS, MRD, near MRD, $i$-MRD, (dually) quasi-MRD codes as well as evasive property of subspaces, can be reformulated in terms of Galois connections. Next, we study GRWs and rank profiles defined for modules over principal ideal rings, especially those over chain rings. Generalizing GRWs defined for vector spaces over fields, we establish a singleton bound and a Wei-type duality theorem, characterize MRD, near MRD and dually quasi-MRD codes and determine their GRWs; moreover, we characterize $i$-MRD codes and establish a scattered bound for $(h,h)$-evasive codes over chain rings, generalizing counterpart result established for vector space over finite fields. Finally, we propose and study EGPWs and extended poset profiles defined for modules with a composition series, which in fact form a Galois connection. Generalizing EGPWs defined for modules over finite Galois rings, we establish a Wei-type duality theorem for modules over arbitrary quasi-Frobenius rings, which unifies the two Wei-type duality theorems derived in both \cite{32} and \cite{33}.

$r$-Minimal Poset Codes

In this paper, we propose and study $r$-minimal codes with respect to $\mathbf{P}$-support, where $\mathbf{P}=(Ω,\preccurlyeq_{\mathbf{P}})$ is a poset defined on the coordinate set of the ambient space $\mathbf{H}$. $r$-Minimal $\mathbf{P}$-codes are natural extensions of Hamming metric minimal codes that have been extensively studied in the literature. We characterize $r$-minimal $\mathbf{P}$-codes in terms of the notion so called cutting $r$-blocking maps, which generalizes the well-known equivalence between minimal Hamming metric codes and cutting blocking sets. We also give a necessary and sufficient condition for $r$-minimality in terms of $(\mathbf{P},ω)$-weight defined on $\mathbf{H}$, where $ω:Ω\longrightarrow\mathbb{R}^{+}$ is an arbitrary weight function. This leads to a generalization of the well-known Ashikhmin-Barg criterion for Hamming metric minimal codes. We then prove two existence results for $r$-minimal $\mathbf{P}$-codes, both for general $\mathbf{P}$ and for the special case that $\mathbf{P}$ is a disjoint union of chains. When $\mathbf{P}$ is hierarchical, we characterize $r$-minimal $\mathbf{P}$-codes in terms of $r$-minimal Hamming metric codes. Finally, we characterize cutting $r$-blocking sets induced by hierarchical posets with two levels, which further enables us to answer a question raised in Hyun, Kim, Wu and Yue \cite{28}.

Laboratorial radiative shocks with multiple parameters and first quantifying verifications to core-collapse supernovae

We present experiments to reproduce the characteristics of core-collapse supernovae with different stellar masses and initial explosion energies in the laboratory. In the experiments, shocks are driven in 1.2 atm and 1.9 atm xenon gas by laser with energy from 1600J to 2800J on the SGIII prototype laser facility. The average shock velocities and shocked densities are obtained from experiments. Experimental results reveal that higher laser energy and lower Xe gas density led to higher shock velocity, and lower Xe gas initial density has a higher compression. Modeling of the experiments using the 2D radiation hydrodynamic codes Icefire shows excellent agreement with the experimental results and gives the temperature. These results will contribute to time-domain astrophysical systems, such as gravitational supernovae, where a strong radiative shock propagates outward from the center of the star after the core collapses.

Iterates of Meromorphic Functions on Escaping Fatou Components

In this paper, we prove that the ratio of the modulus of the iterates of two points in an escaping Fatou component may be bounded even if the orbit of the component contains an infinite modulus annulus sequence and this case cannot happen when the maximal modulus of the meromorphic function is large enough. Therefore, we extend the related results for entire functions to ones for meromorphic functions with infinitely many poles. And we investigate the fast escaping Fatou components of meromorphic functions defined in [44] in terms of the Nevanlinna characteristic instead of the maximal modulus in [12] and show that the multiply-connected wandering domain is a part of the fast escaping set under a growth condition of the maximal modulus. Finally we give examples of wandering domains escaping at arbitrary fast rate and slow rate.

A New Rational Approach to the Square Root of 5

In this paper, authors construct a new type of sequence which is named an extra-super increasing sequence, and give the definitions of the minimal super increasing sequence {a[0], a[1], ..., a[n]} and minimal extra-super increasing sequence {z[0], z[1], ..., z[n]}. Find that there always exists a fit n which makes (z[n] / z[n-1] - a[n] / a[n-1])= PHI, where PHI is the golden ratio conjugate with a finite precision in the range of computer expression. Further, derive the formula radic(5) = 2(z[n] / z[n-1] - a[n] / a[n-1]) + 1, where n corresponds to the demanded precision. Experiments demonstrate that the approach to radic(5) through a term ratio difference is more smooth and expeditious than through a Taylor power series, and convince the authors that lim(n to infinity) (z[n] / z[n-1] - a[n] / a[n-1]) = PHI holds.

Studies of Differences from the point of view of Nevanlinna Theory

This paper consists of three parts. First, we give so far the best condition under which the shift invariance of the counting function, and of the characteristic of a subharmonic function, holds. Second, a difference analogue of logarithmic derivative of a $δ$-subharmonic function is established allowing the case of hyper-order equal to one and minimal hyper-type, which improves the condition of the hyper-order less than one. Finally, we make a careful discussion of a well-known difference equation and give out the possible forms of the equation under a growth condition for the solutions.

Neural Architecture Search For Fault Diagnosis

Data-driven methods have made great progress in fault diagnosis, especially deep learning method. Deep learning is suitable for processing big data, and has a strong feature extraction ability to realize end-to-end fault diagnosis systems. However, designing neural network architecture requires rich professional knowledge and debugging experience, and a lot of experiments are needed to screen models and hyperparameters, increasing the difficulty of developing deep learning models. Frortunately, neural architecture search (NAS) is developing rapidly, and is becoming one of the next directions for deep learning. In this paper, we proposed a NAS method for fault diagnosis using reinforcement learning. A recurrent neural network is used as an agent to generate network architecture. The accuracy of the generated network on the validation dataset is fed back to the agent as a reward, and the parameters of the agent are updated through the strategy gradient algorithm. We use PHM 2009 Data Challenge gearbox dataset to prove the effectiveness of proposed method, and obtain state-of-the-art results compared with other artificial designed network structures. To author's best knowledge, it's the first time that NAS has been applied in fault diagnosis.

On the iterations and the argument distribution of meromorphic functions

This paper consists of tow parts. One is to study the existence of a point $a$ in the intersection of Julia set and escaping set such that $\arg z=θ$ is a singular direction if $θ$ is a limit point of $\{\arg f^n(a)\}$ under some growth condition of a meromorphic function. The other is to study the connection between the Fatou set and singular direction. We prove that the absent of singular direction deduces the non-existence of annuli in the Fatou set.

A Hybrid Ensemble method for Pulsar Candidate Classification

In this paper, three ensemble methods: Random Forest, XGBoost, and a Hybrid Ensemble method were implemented to classify imbalanced pulsar candidates. To assist these methods, tree models were used to select features among 30 features of pulsar candidates from references. The skewness of the integrated pulse profile, chi-squared value for sine-squared fit to amended profile and best S/N value play important roles in Random Forest, while the skewness of the integrated pulse profile is one of the most significant features in XGBoost. More than 20 features were selected by their relative scores and then applied in three ensemble methods. In the Hybrid Ensemble method, we combined Random Forest and XGBoost with EasyEnsemble. By changing thresholds, we tried to make a trade-off between Recall and Precision to make them approximately equal and as high as possible. Experiments on HTRU 1 and HTRU 2 datasets show that the Hybrid Ensemble method achieves higher Recall than the other two algorithms. In HTRU 1 dataset, Recall, Precision, and F-Score of the Hybrid Ensemble method are $0.967$, $0.971$, and $0.969$, respectively. In HTRU 2 dataset, the three values of that are $0.920$, $0.917$, and $0.918$, respectively.

Pulsar Candidates Classification with Deep Convolutional Neural Networks

As performance of dedicated facilities continually improved, massive pulsar candidates are being received, which makes selecting valuable pulsar signals from candidates challenging. In this paper, we designed a deep convolutional neural network (CNN) with 11 layers for classifying pulsar candidates. Compared to artificial designed features, CNN chose sub-integrations plot and sub-bands plot in each candidate as inputs without carrying biases. To address the imbalanced problem, data augmentation method based on synthetic minority samples is proposed according to characteristics of pulsars. The maximum pulses of pulsar candidates were first translated to the same position, then new samples were generated by adding up multiple subplots of pulsars. The data augmentation method is simple and effective for obtaining varied and representative samples which keep pulsar characteristics. In the experiments on HTRU 1 dataset, it shows that this model can achieve recall as 0.962 while precision as 0.963.

The Multiphoton Boson Sampling Machine Doesn't Beat Early Classical Computers for Five-boson Sampling

A new algorithm which is called Store-zechin, and utilizes stored data repetitively for calculating the permanent of an n * n matrix is proposed. The analysis manifests that the numbers of multiplications and additions taken by the new algorithm are respectively far smaller than those taken by the famous Ryser algorithm. Especially, for a 5-boson sampling task, the running time of the Store-zechin algorithm computing the correspondent permanent on ENIAC as well as TRADIC is lower than that of the sampling operation on a multiphoton boson sampling machine (shortly MPBSM), and thus MPBSM does not beat the early classical computers (despite of this, it is possible that when n gets large enough, a quantum boson sampling machine will beat a classical computer). On a computer, people can design an algorithm that exchanges space for time while on MPBSM, people can not do so, which is the greatest difference between a universal computer and MPBSM. This difference is right the reason why MPBSM may not be called a (photonic) quantum computer.

First Investigation on the Radiation Field of the Gas-Filled Three-Axis Cylindrical Hohlraum

A novel ignition hohlraum named three-axis cylindrical hohlraum (TACH) is designed for indirect-drive inertial confinement fusion. TACH is a kind of 6 laser entrance holes (LEHs) hohlraum, which is orthogonally jointed of three cylindrical hohlraums. The first experiment on the radiation field of TACH was performed on Shenguang III laser facility. 24 laser beams were elected and injected into 6 LEHs quasi-symmetrically. Total laser energy was about 59 kJ, and the peak radiation temperature reached about 192 eV. Radiation temperature and pinhole images in gas-filled hohlraum are largely identical but with minor differences with those in vacuum hohlraum. All laser energy can be totally delivered into hohlraum in 3 ns duration even without filled gas in the hohlraum of 1.4 mm diameter. Plasma filling cannot be obviously suppressed even with 0.5 atm pressure gas in the small hohlraum. Backscattering fractions of vacuum hohlraum and gas-filled hohlraum are both lower than 2%. Experimental study of this new kind of hohlraum can provide guidance for future target design and implosion experiment.

First Integrated Implosion Experiment of Three-Axis Cylindrical Hohlraum at the SGIII Laser Facility

The first integrated implosion experiment of three-axis cylindrical hohlraum (TACH) was accomplished at the SGIII laser facility. 24 laser beams of the SGIII laser facility were carefully chosen and quasi-symmetrically injected into the TACH, in which a highly symmetric radiation filed was generated with a peak radiation temperature of ~190eV. Driven by the radiation field, the neutron yield of a deuterium gas filled capsule reached ~1e9, and the corresponding yield over clean (YOC) was ~40% for a convergence ratio (Cr) of ~17. The X-ray self-emission image of imploded capsule cores was nearly round, and the backscatter fraction of laser beams was less than 1.25%. This experiment preliminarily demonstrated the major performance of TACH, such as the robustness of symmetry, and a laser plasma instability (LPI) behavior similar to that of the outer ring of traditional cylindrical hohlraum.

Second main theorem with tropical hypersurfaces and defect relation

The tropical Nevanlinna theory is Nevanlinna theory for tropical functions or maps over the max-plux semiring by using the approach of complex analysis. The main purpose of this paper is to study the second main theorem with tropical hypersurfaces into tropical projective spaces and give a defect relation which can be regarded as a tropical version of the Shiffman's conjecture. On the one hand, our second main theorem improves and extends the tropical Cartan's second main theorem due to Korhonen and Tohge [Advances Math. 298(2016), 693-725]. The growth of tropical holomorphic curve is also improved to $\limsup_{r\rightarrow\infty}\frac{\log T_{f}(r)}{r}=0$ (rather than just hyperorder strictly less than one) by obtaining an improvement of tropical logarithmic derivative lemma. On the other hand, we obtain a new version of tropical Nevanlinna's second main theorem which is different from the tropical Nevanlinna's second main theorem obtained by Laine and Tohge [Proc. London Math. Soc. 102(2011), 883-922]. The new version of the tropical Nevanlinna's second main theorem implies an interesting defect relation that $δ_{f}(a)=0$ holds for a nonconstant tropical meromorphic function $f$ with $\limsup_{r\rightarrow\infty}\frac{\log T_{f}(r)}{r}=0$ and any $a\in\mathbb{R}$ such that $f\oplus a\not\equiv a.$

A lemma on the difference quotients

Using a new Borel type growth lemma, we extend the difference analogue of the lemma on the logarithmic derivative due to Halburd and Korhonen to the case of meromorphic functions $f(z)$ such that $\log T(r,f)\leq r/(\log r)^{2+ν}$, $ν>0$, for all sufficiently large $r$. The method by Halburd and Korhonen implies an estimate for the lemma on difference quotients, where the exceptional set is of finite logarithmic measure. We show the necessity of this set by proving that it must be of infinite linear measure for meromorphic functions whose deficiency is dependent on the choice of the origin. In addition, we show that there is an infinite sequence of $r$ in the set for which $m(r,f(z+c)/f(z))$ is not small compared to $T(r,f)$ for entire functions constructed by Miles. We also give a discrete version of Borel type growth lemma and use it to extend Halburd's result on first order discrete equations of Malmuist type.

A Fast Quantum-safe Asymmetric Cryptosystem Using Extra Superincreasing Sequences

This paper gives the definitions of an extra superincreasing sequence and an anomalous subset sum, and proposes a fast quantum-safe asymmetric cryptosystem called JUOAN2. The new cryptosystem is based on an additive multivariate permutation problem (AMPP) and an anomalous subset sum problem (ASSP) which parallel a multivariate polynomial problem and a shortest vector problem respectively, and composed of a key generator, an encryption algorithm, and a decryption algorithm. The authors analyze the security of the new cryptosystem against the Shamir minima accumulation point attack and the LLL lattice basis reduction attack, and prove it to be semantically secure (namely IND-CPA) on the assumption that AMPP and ASSP have no subexponential time solutions. Particularly, the analysis shows that the new cryptosystem has the potential to be resistant to quantum computing attack, and is especially suitable to the secret communication between two mobile terminals in maneuvering field operations under any weather. At last, an example explaining the correctness of the new cryptosystem is given.

Idology and Its Applications in Public Security and Network Security

Fraud (swindling money, property, or authority by fictionizing, counterfeiting, forging, or imitating things, or by feigning other persons privately) forms its threats against public security and network security. Anti-fraud is essentially the identification of a person or thing. In this paper, the authors first propose the concept of idology - a systematic and scientific study of identifications of persons and things, and give the definitions of a symmetric identity and an asymmetric identity. Discuss the converting symmetric identities (e.g., fingerprints) to asymmetric identities. Make a comparison between a symmetric identity and an asymmetric identity, and emphasize that symmetric identities cannot guard against inside jobs. Compare asymmetric RFIDs with BFIDs, and point out that a BFID is lightweight, economical, convenient, and environmentalistic, and more suitable for the anti-counterfeiting and source tracing of consumable merchandise such as foods, drugs, and cosmetics. The authors design the structure of a united verification platform for BFIDs and the composition of an identification system, and discuss the wide applications of BFIDs in public security and network security - antiterrorism and dynamic passwords for example.
