A novel quantum theory of psychology

The behavior coordinate system and the ideal individual model are presented. The behavior state of an ideal individual is assumed to be represented by a behavior state function. Based on the ideal individual model, the behavior coordinate system and the quantum probability, a novel quantum theory of psychology is offered here in a different way. It can give some enlightening viewpoints through which some phenomena can be discussed from a different perspective.

Concavity of the meson Regge trajectories

It is illustrated by the fitted Regge trajectories for a large majority of mesons that both the radial and orbital Regge trajectories for mesons prefer being concave. The concavity of the meson Regge trajectories is model-independent. If the convex Regge trajectories or the Regge trajectories having the inflection points do not exist, the concavity can act as a criterion to choose a newly observed meson or to assign a particle to the unwell-established state. The curvature of the meson Regge trajectories can be taken as a guide in constructing models. The appropriate models should yield the spectra which can produce the concave Regge trajectories according to the concavity of the meson Regge trajectories. If the large majority of the meson Regge trajectories are concave while a few meson Regge trajectories are convex which neither have been confirmed nor have been completely excluded at present, many existing models should be corrected or even be reconstructed, which will lead to the further understanding of the meson dynamics.

Pseudosingularity in the eigenvalue integral equations

The reliability is of the most importance when employing a numerical method to solve the eigenvalue integral equations. In this paper, we present one type of particular singularities (pseudosingularities) existing in eigenvalue integral equations which will impair even destroy the reliability of the numerical solutions in an implicit way. Two odd phenomena emerging in the numerical eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions are reviewed. And the relations between the pseudosingularities, the odd phenomena and the reliability of the obtained numerical results are discussed.

Fragmentation Function and Hadronic Production of the Heavy Supersymmetric Hadrons

The light top-squark $\sto$ may be the lightest squark and its lifetime may be `long enough' in a kind of SUSY models which have not been ruled out yet experimentally, so colorless `supersymmetric hadrons (superhadrons)' $(\sto \bar{q})$ ($q$ is a quark except $t$-quark) may be formed as long as the light top-squark $\sto$ can be produced. Fragmentation function of $\sto$ to heavy `supersymmetric hadrons (superhadrons)' $(\sto \bar{Q})$ ($\bar{Q}=\bar{c}$ or $\bar{b}$) and the hadronic production of the superhadrons are investigated quantitatively. The fragmentation function is calculated precisely. Due to the difference in spin of the SUSY component, the asymptotic behavior of the fragmentation function is different from those of the existent ones. The fragmentation function is also applied to compute the production of heavy superhadrons at hadronic colliders Tevatron and LHC under the so-called fragmentation approach. The resultant cross-section for the heavy superhadrons is too small to observe at Tevatron, but great enough at LHC, even when all the relevant parameters in the SUSY models are taken within the favored region for the heavy superhadrons. The production of `light superhadrons' $(\sto \bar{q})$ ($q=u, d, s$) is also roughly estimated. It is pointed out that the production cross-sections of the light superhadrons $(\sto \bar{q})$ may be much greater than those of the heavy superhadrons, so that even at Tevatron the light superhadrons may be produced in great quantities.

The Instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter Equation and Its Analog: the Breit-like Equation

We take ($μ^\pm e^\mp$) systems and consider the states with quantum number $J^P=0^-$ as examples, to explore the different contents of the instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equation and its analog, Breit equation, by solving them exactly. The results show that the two equations are not equivalent, although they are analogous. Furthermore, we point out that the Breit equation contains extra un-physical solutions, so it should be abandoned if one wishes to have an accurate description of the bound states for the instantaneous interacting binding systems.

Instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter Equation and Its Exact Solution

We present an approach to solve a Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equation exactly without any approximation if the kernel of the BS equation exactly is instantaneous, and take positronium as an example to illustrate the general features of the solutions. As a middle stage, a set of coupled and self-consistent integration equations for a few scalar functions can be equivalently derived from the BS equation always, which are solvable accurately. For positronium, precise corrections to those of the Schrödinger equation in order $v$ (relative velocity) in eigenfunctions, in order $v^2$ in eigenvalues, and the possible mixing, such as that between $S$ ($P$) and $D$ ($F$) components in $J^{PC}=1^{--}$ ($J^{PC}=2^{++}$) states as well, are determined quantitatively. Moreover, we also point out that there is a problematic step in the classical derivation which was proposed first by E.E. Salpeter. Finally, we emphasize that for the effective theories (such as NRQED and NRQCD etc) we should pay great attention on the corrections indicated by the exact solutions.

The Instantaneous Formulations for Bethe Salpeter Equation and Radiative Transitions between Two Bound-States

The instantaneous formulations for the relativistic Bethe-Salpeter (BS) and the radiative transitions between the bound-states are achieved if the BS kernel is instantaneous. It is shown that the original Salpeter instantaneous equation set up on the BS equation with an instantaneous kernel should be extended to involve the `small (negative energy) component' of the BS wave functions. As a precise example of the extension for the bound states with one kind of quantum number, the way to reduce the novel extended instantaneous equation is presented. How to guarantee the gauge invariance for the radiative transitions which is formulated in terms of BS wave functions, especially, which is formulated in the instantaneous formulation, is shown. It is also shown that to `guarantee' the gauge invariance for the radiative transitions in instantaneous formulation, the novel instantaneous equation for the bound states plays a very important role. Prospects on the applications and consequences of the obtained instantaneous formulations are outlined.
