EmoInstruct-TTS: Dual-Path Instruction-Guided Emotional Speech Synthesis

Instruction-based controllable speech synthesis enables users to specify emotions through natural language. However, existing approaches often rely on coarse emotion labels and lack explicit modeling of fine-grained intensity. We propose EmoInstruct-TTS, a dual-path instruction-guided framework for emotional speech synthesis. We introduce Emotion2embed, a supervised semantic-acoustic emotion embedding covering 48 emotional states, including fine-grained categories and intensity levels. To infer embeddings from free-form instructions, we design an Instruction-Conditioned Emotion Flow Model (ICE-Flow) that generates acoustically grounded emotion representations. The inferred embeddings are integrated into an LLM-based synthesis pipeline to provide explicit emotional control while preserving semantic planning. Experiments show improved emotional controllability and speech naturalness over strong baselines.

GuangMing-Explorer: A Four-Legged Robot Platform for Autonomous Exploration in General Environments

Autonomous exploration is a fundamental capability that tightly integrates perception, planning, control, and motion execution. It plays a critical role in a wide range of applications, including indoor target search, mapping of extreme environments, resource exploration, etc. Despite significant progress in individual components, a holistic and practical description of a completely autonomous exploration system, encompassing both hardware and software, remains scarce. In this paper, we present GuangMing-Explorer, a fully integrated autonomous exploration platform designed for robust operation across diverse environments. We provide a comprehensive overview of the system architecture, including hardware design, software stack, algorithm deployment, and experimental configuration. Extensive real-world experiments demonstrate the platform's effectiveness and efficiency in executing autonomous exploration tasks, highlighting its potential for practical deployment in complex and unstructured environments.

Magnetic signatures of pressure-induced multicomponent superconductivity in UTe$_2$

The phase diagram of the heavy fermion compound UTe$_2$ contains multiple superconducting phases, several of which show characteristics of odd-parity pairing. We have investigated the pressure dependence of the superconducting transition in high-quality crystals of UTe$_2$ by tracking its signature in the magnetic susceptibility $χ(T)$. A single, sharp superconducting transition is observed at low pressures 0.3 GPa. At higher pressure, a second feature emerges in $χ(T)$, which is located at the lower-temperature thermodynamic phase boundary previously identified in specific heat measurements. This second transition anomaly in $χ(T)$ can be attributed to a step change in the London penetration depth, providing direct evidence for a change in the superconducting order parameter of UTe$_2$. Thermodynamic constraints suggest that the low temperature, high pressure superconducting state is distinct from zero pressure superconductivity as well as from the high pressure, high temperature superconducting state, raising the possibility of multicomponent superconductivity in high pressure UTe$_2$.

Metallic local-moment magnetocalorics as a route to cryogenic refrigeration

Commercial adiabatic demagnetisation refrigerators still employ the same hydrated salts that were first introduced over 85 years ago. The inherent limitations of these insulating magnetocalorics - poor thermal conductivity at sub-Kelvin temperatures, low entropy density, corrosiveness - can be overcome by a new generation of rare-earth based metallic magnetocalorics. Here, we present the metallic magnetocaloric YbNi1.6 Sn as an attractive alternative to conventional refrigerants. YbNi1.6Sn retains high entropy into the 100 mK regime and avoids the noble metal constituents of alternative refrigerants. Demagnetisation tests demonstrate that YbNi1.6Sn enables economical and durable alternatives to traditional cooling devices for temperatures reaching below 120 mK. We find that the magnetocaloric properties of this material are facilitated by unusually small Kondo and RKKY interactions, which position YbNi1.6Sn in the extreme local moment limit on the generalised Kondo lattice phase diagram.

Physical Information Neural Networks for Solving High-index Differential-algebraic Equation Systems Based on Radau Methods

As is well known, differential algebraic equations (DAEs), which are able to describe dynamic changes and underlying constraints, have been widely applied in engineering fields such as fluid dynamics, multi-body dynamics, mechanical systems and control theory. In practical physical modeling within these domains, the systems often generate high-index DAEs. Classical implicit numerical methods typically result in varying order reduction of numerical accuracy when solving high-index systems.~Recently, the physics-informed neural network (PINN) has gained attention for solving DAE systems. However, it faces challenges like the inability to directly solve high-index systems, lower predictive accuracy, and weaker generalization capabilities. In this paper, we propose a PINN computational framework, combined Radau IIA numerical method with a neural network structure via the attention mechanisms, to directly solve high-index DAEs. Furthermore, we employ a domain decomposition strategy to enhance solution accuracy. We conduct numerical experiments with two classical high-index systems as illustrative examples, investigating how different orders of the Radau IIA method affect the accuracy of neural network solutions. The experimental results demonstrate that the PINN based on a 5th-order Radau IIA method achieves the highest level of system accuracy. Specifically, the absolute errors for all differential variables remains as low as $10^{-6}$, and the absolute errors for algebraic variables is maintained at $10^{-5}$, surpassing the results found in existing literature. Therefore, our method exhibits excellent computational accuracy and strong generalization capabilities, providing a feasible approach for the high-precision solution of larger-scale DAEs with higher indices or challenging high-dimensional partial differential algebraic equation systems.

Superconductivity beyond the Pauli limit in high-pressure CeSb2

We report the discovery of superconductivity at a pressure-induced magnetic quantum critical point in the Kondo-lattice system CeSb2, sustained up to magnetic fields that exceed the conventional Pauli limit eight-fold. Like CeRh2As2, CeSb2 is locally non-centrosymmetric around the Ce-site, but the evolution of critical fields and normal state properties as CeSb2 is tuned through the quantum critical point motivates a fundamentally different explanation for its resilience to applied field.

Fermi surface and mass renormalization in the iron-based superconductor YFe$_2$Ge$_2$

Quantum oscillation measurements in the new unconventional superconductor YFe$_2$Ge$_2$ resolve all four Fermi surface pockets expected from band structure calculations, which predict an electron pocket in the Brillouin zone corner and three hole pockets enveloping the centers of the top and bottom of the Brillouin zone. The carrier masses are uniformly renormalized by about a factor of five and broadly account for the enhanced heat capacity Sommerfeld coefficient $\simeq 100$ mJ/molK$^2$. Our data highlight the key role of the electron pocket, which despite its small volume accounts for about half the total density of states, and point towards a predominantly local mechanism underlying the mass renormalization in YFe$_2$Ge$_2$.

Unconventional bulk superconductivity in YFe$_2$Ge$_2$ single crystals

Using a new horizontal flux growth technique to produce high quality crystals of the unconventional superconductor YFe$_2$Ge$_2$ has led to a seven-fold reduction in disorder scattering, resulting in mm-sized crystals with residual resistivities $\simeq \SI{0.45}{\micro\ohm\centi\meter}$, resistivity ratios $\simeq 430$ and sharp superconducting heat capacity anomalies. This enables searching multi-probe experiments investigating the normal and superconducting states of YFe$_2$Ge$_2$. Low temperature heat capacity measurements suggest a significant residual Sommerfeld coefficient, consistent with in-gap states induced by residual disorder as predicted for a sign-changing order parameter.

Composition dependence of bulk superconductivity in YFe2Ge2

In the layered iron-based superconductor YFe2Ge2, a high Sommerfeld ratio of ~100 mJ/molK^2 and a T^(3/2) temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity at low temperature T indicate strong electronic correlations and point towards an unconventional pairing state. We have investigated the role of composition and annealing conditions in optimizing the growth of high-quality YFe2Ge2. Our findings confirm that bulk superconductivity is observed in samples with disorder scattering rates less than 2 k_B T_c/hbar. Fe deficiency on the Fe site is identified as the dominant source of disorder, which can be minimised by precipitating from a slightly iron-rich melt, following by annealing.

Quantum Critical Points in Ferroelectric Relaxors: Stuffed Tungsten Bronze K3Li2Ta5O15 and Lead Pyrochlore (Pb2Nb2O7)

We have synthesised ceramic specimens of the tetragonal tungsten bronze K3Li2Ta5O15 (KLT) and characterized its phase transition via X-ray, dielectric permittivity, ultrasonic spectroscopy and heat capacity measurements. The space group of KLT is reported as both P4/mbm or Cmmm with the orthorhombic distortion occurring when there are higher partial pressures of volatile K and Li used within the closed crucibles for the solid state synthesis. The data show strong relaxor behaviour, with the temperature at which the two dielectric relative permittivity peaks decreasing with 104 K $\geqslant$ Tm1 $\geqslant$ 69 K and 69 K $\geqslant$ Tm2 $\geqslant$ 46 K as probe frequency f is reduced from 1 MHz to 316 Hz. The data satisfy a Vogel-Fulcher model with an extrapolated freezing temperature for ε' and ε" of Tf1 = + 15.8 and - 11.8 K and Tf2 = - 5.0 and - 15.0 K for f $\rightarrow$ 0 (tending to dc). Therefore by tuning frequency, the transition could be shifted to absolute zero suggesting KLT has a relaxor-type quantum critical point. In addition, we have reanalysed the conflicting literature for Pb2Nb2O7 pyrochlore which suggests that this is also a relaxor-type quantum critical point as the freezing temperature from Vogel-Fulcher fitting is below absolute zero. Since the transition temperature evidenced in the dielectric data at ca. 100 kHz shifts below zero Kelvin for very low frequencies, heat capacity data collected in the zero-frequency (dc) limit, should not indicate a transition. Both of these materials show promise as possible new relaxor-type quantum critical points within non-perovskite based structures as multiple compounds are reported with low-temperature transitions.

Unconventional superconductivity in the layered iron germanide YFe$_2$Ge$_2$

Since the discovery of superconductivity in LaFePO in 2006, numerous iron-based superconductors have been identified within diverse structure families, all of which combine iron with a group-V (pnictogen) or group-VI (chalco- gen) element. Unconventional superconductivity is extremely rare among transition metal compounds outside these layered iron systems and the cuprates, and it is almost universally associated with highly anisotropic electronic properties and nearly 2D Fermi surface geometries. The iron-based intermetallic YFe$_2$Ge$_2$ features a 3D Fermi surface and a strongly enhanced low temperature heat capacity, which signals strong electronic correlations. We present data from a new generation of high quality samples of YFe$_2$Ge$_2$, which show superconducting transition anomalies below 1.8 K in thermodynamic as well as transport measurements, establishing that superconductivity is intrinsic in this layered iron compound outside the known superconducting iron pnictide or chalcogenide families. The Fermi surface geometry of YFe$_2$Ge$_2$ resembles that of KFe$_2$As$_2$ in the high pressure collapsed tetragonal phase, in which superconductivity at temperatures as high as 10 K has recently been reported, suggesting an underlying connection between the two systems.
