Probing Variations in Earth's Ionosphere Using Pulsars

We present high cadence 10-minute rotation measure (RM) monitoring of PSR~J0814+7429 using the LOw-Frequency ARray, aiming to probe ionospheric variability along the pulsar line of sight (LoS). By separating the ionospheric contribution from the observed RM, we quantitatively reconstruct the diurnal variation of the ionospheric electron density along the pulsar LoS based on the World Magnetic Model. The derived variations exhibit clear solar-driven modulation, including the ionospheric noontime bite-out phenomenon, and show good agreement with the LoS total electron content reconstructed from independent global vertical total electron content maps. These results demonstrate the feasibility of using pulsars as probes of temporal variations in the electron density of the Earth's ionosphere.

Qwen-Audio-3.0-TTS: Freely Controllable and Highly Robust Speech Synthesis with Multi-Stage Training Paradigm

In this report, we present Qwen-Audio-3.0-TTS, a production-oriented speech synthesis system that jointly advances content consistency, speaker similarity, prosodic naturalness, audio quality, controllability, multilingual coverage, efficiency, and robustness. It combines a 12.5~Hz low-frame-rate speech tokenizer for reduced inference latency with a five-stage progressive training paradigm for coordinated language model (LM) and flow-matching model (FM) optimization. The model provides production-level control through free-style natural-language instructions and fine-grained inline tags, while supporting 16 languages, 20 Chinese dialect regions, one-pass long-form synthesis up to 3 minutes, and robust generation from noisy, reverberant, or unclear reference speech. Across SEED-TTS-Eval, CV3-Eval, instruction-following, long-form, and acoustic-robustness evaluations, Qwen-Audio-3.0-TTS achieves state-of-the-art performance on many reported dimensions or the strongest aggregate results. It also ranks first on the independent Artificial Analysis Text-to-Speech Leaderboard. These results establish Qwen-Audio-3.0-TTS as a strong foundation for production-level speech synthesis.

No Strong Evidence for Plasma Lensing in FRB 20240114A

FRB~20240114A is an extremely active repeating fast radio burst for which plasma lensing has been proposed to explain its burst-rate variations, spectral evolution, and apparently ``carbon-copy'' burst pairs. Using FAST data and publicly available Parkes observations, we test this interpretation with a one-dimensional Gaussian plasma-lens model. Although the burst-rate enhancements can be fitted separately, the corresponding magnification peaks and demagnification troughs are offset by far more than predicted and show no consistent periodicity. Moreover, with more than 10,000 bursts detected, a few apparently ``carbon-copy'' pairs can readily occur by chance. The burst bandwidth is not systematically narrower during the proposed lensing interval, nor are the burst energies significantly enhanced during the predicted magnification interval. These results provide no compelling evidence that a single Gaussian plasma lens explains the observed variability, which is more likely dominated by intrinsic source activity.

Pulsar scintillation studies with LOFAR III. Annual variations in PSR~J0814$+$7429

The interstellar scintillation observed in radio pulsars arises from interference between electromagnetic waves scattered by electron density fluctuations in the turbulent interstellar plasma, providing a critical tool for probing the small-scale structure of the ionized interstellar medium and the pulsar system itself. The primary aim of this work is to study long-term scintillation variations for a bright and nearby pulsar, PSR J0814$+$7429, carried out from 2013 September to 2023 September with the LOw-Frequency ARray (LOFAR) High Band Antennae in the frequency range of 120 - 170 MHz. We derive the basic scintillation parameters, scintillation bandwidth ($Δν_{\rm d}$) and scintillation timescale ($Δτ_{\rm d}$), from the two-dimensional (2D) auto-covariance function of the dynamic spectra that are a 2D matrix of pulse intensity as a function of time and frequency. We present the long-term monitoring of $Δν_{\rm d}$ and $Δτ_{\rm d}$ for PSR J0814$+7429$, which shows a strong annual variation in the time series of the $Δτ_{\rm d}$. From our modeling of the annual variations of scintillation velocities, the scattering screen is anisotropic and located at $0.23\pm0.02$ kpc from the Earth, likely corresponding to the boundary of the Local Bubble.

VividVoice: A Unified Framework for Scene-Aware Visually-Driven Speech Synthesis

We introduce and define a novel task-Scene-Aware Visually-Driven Speech Synthesis, aimed at addressing the limitations of existing speech generation models in creating immersive auditory experiences that align with the real physical world. To tackle the two core challenges of data scarcity and modality decoupling, we propose VividVoice, a unified generative framework. First, we constructed a large-scale, high-quality hybrid multimodal dataset, Vivid-210K, which, through an innovative programmatic pipeline, establishes a strong correlation between visual scenes, speaker identity, and audio for the first time. Second, we designed a core alignment module, D-MSVA, which leverages a decoupled memory bank architecture and a cross-modal hybrid supervision strategy to achieve fine-grained alignment from visual scenes to timbre and environmental acoustic features. Both subjective and objective experimental results provide strong evidence that VividVoice significantly outperforms existing baseline models in terms of audio fidelity, content clarity, and multimodal consistency. Our demo is available at https://chengyuann.github.io/VividVoice/.

Improving pulsar search efficiency in next-generation pulsar surveys with artificial intelligence

Pulsar searching with next-generation radio telescopes requires efficiently sifting through millions of candidates generated by search pipelines to identify the most promising ones. This challenge has motivated the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tools. In this work, we explore an optimized pulsar search pipeline that utilizes deep learning to sift ``snapshot'' candidates generated by folding de-dispersed time series data. This approach significantly accelerates the search process by reducing the time spent on the folding step. We also developed a script to generate simulated pulsars for benchmarking and model fine-tuning. The benchmark analysis used the NGC 5904 globular cluster data and simulated pulsar data, showing that our pipeline reduces candidate folding time by a factor of $\sim$10 and achieves 100% recall by recovering all known detectable pulsars in the restricted parameter space. We also tested the speed-up using data of known pulsars from a single observation in the Southern-sky MWA Rapid Two-metre (SMART) survey, achieving a conservatively estimated speed-up factor of 60 in the folding step over a large parameter space. We tested the model's ability to classify pulsar candidates using real data collected from the FAST, GBT, MWA, Arecibo, and Parkes, demonstrating that our method can be generalized to different telescopes. The results show that the optimized pipeline identifies pulsars with an accuracy of 0.983 and a recall of 0.9844 on the real dataset. This approach can be used to improve the processing efficiency for the SMART and is also relevant for future SKA pulsar surveys.

SmartMLOps Studio: Design of an LLM-Integrated IDE with Automated MLOps Pipelines for Model Development and Monitoring

The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) applications has intensified the demand for integrated environments that unify model development, deployment, and monitoring. Traditional Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) focus primarily on code authoring, lacking intelligent support for the full ML lifecycle, while existing MLOps platforms remain detached from the coding workflow. To address this gap, this study proposes the design of an LLM-Integrated IDE with automated MLOps pipelines that enables continuous model development and monitoring within a single environment. The proposed system embeds a Large Language Model (LLM) assistant capable of code generation, debugging recommendation, and automatic pipeline configuration. The backend incorporates automated data validation, feature storage, drift detection, retraining triggers, and CI/CD deployment orchestration. This framework was implemented in a prototype named SmartMLOps Studio and evaluated using classification and forecasting tasks on the UCI Adult and M5 datasets. Experimental results demonstrate that SmartMLOps Studio reduces pipeline configuration time by 61%, improves experiment reproducibility by 45%, and increases drift detection accuracy by 14% compared to traditional workflows. By bridging intelligent code assistance and automated operational pipelines, this research establishes a novel paradigm for AI engineering - transforming the IDE from a static coding tool into a dynamic, lifecycle-aware intelligent platform for scalable and efficient model development.

In This Environment, As That Speaker: A Text-Driven Framework for Multi-Attribute Speech Conversion

We propose TES-VC (Text-driven Environment and Speaker controllable Voice Conversion), a text-driven voice conversion framework with independent control of speaker timbre and environmental acoustics. TES-VC processes simultaneous text inputs for target voice and environment, accurately generating speech matching described timbre/environment while preserving source content. Trained on synthetic data with decoupled vocal/environment features via latent diffusion modeling, our method eliminates interference between attributes. The Retrieval-Based Timbre Control (RBTC) module enables precise manipulation using abstract descriptions without paired data. Experiments confirm TES-VC effectively generates contextually appropriate speech in both timbre and environment with high content retention and superior controllability which demonstrates its potential for widespread applications.

FLAP: Fully-controllable Audio-driven Portrait Video Generation through 3D head conditioned diffusion model

Diffusion-based video generation techniques have significantly improved zero-shot talking-head avatar generation, enhancing the naturalness of both head motion and facial expressions. However, existing methods suffer from poor controllability, making them less applicable to real-world scenarios such as filmmaking and live streaming for e-commerce. To address this limitation, we propose FLAP, a novel approach that integrates explicit 3D intermediate parameters (head poses and facial expressions) into the diffusion model for end-to-end generation of realistic portrait videos. The proposed architecture allows the model to generate vivid portrait videos from audio while simultaneously incorporating additional control signals, such as head rotation angles and eye-blinking frequency. Furthermore, the decoupling of head pose and facial expression allows for independent control of each, offering precise manipulation of both the avatar's pose and facial expressions. We also demonstrate its flexibility in integrating with existing 3D head generation methods, bridging the gap between 3D model-based approaches and end-to-end diffusion techniques. Extensive experiments show that our method outperforms recent audio-driven portrait video models in both naturalness and controllability.
