Antiferromagnetic Dimers in the Parent Phase of a Correlated Kagome Superconductor

Kagome metals are prone to charge-density wave (CDW), magnetic, and superconducting phases, with their flat electronic band conducive for correlated physics. In contrast to the weakly correlated $A$V$_3$Sb$_5$ ($A$ = K, Rb, Cs) kagome metals with a $2\times2$ CDW, CsCr$_3$Sb$_5$ is a correlated metal with a flat band close to the Fermi level, and exhibits a $4\times1$ CDW intertwined with magnetic order. Under pressure, the intertwined orders are suppressed and give way to a dome of superconductivity that emerges from a non-Fermi liquid normal state. Here, we solve the crystal structure of the $4\times 1$ CDW state in CsCr$_3$Sb$_5$, and show it consists of Cr dimers separated by Cr chains. First-principles calculations show the dominant exchange interaction is antiferromagnetic within the dimers, while the intra-chain and dimer-chain couplings are much weaker. The CDW transition of CsCr$_3$Sb$_5$ is found to be more strongly first-order than those in $A$V$_3$Sb$_5$, without significant soft phonons or diffuse scattering above the CDW transition temperature. These findings suggest that fluctuating antiferromagnetic dimers may play a major role in the electron pairing of superconducting CsCr$_3$Sb$_5$.

FIRE: A Comprehensive Benchmark for Financial Intelligence and Reasoning Evaluation

We introduce FIRE, a comprehensive benchmark designed to evaluate both the theoretical financial knowledge of LLMs and their ability to handle practical business scenarios. For theoretical assessment, we curate a diverse set of examination questions drawn from widely recognized financial qualification exams, enabling evaluation of LLMs deep understanding and application of financial knowledge. In addition, to assess the practical value of LLMs in real-world financial tasks, we propose a systematic evaluation matrix that categorizes complex financial domains and ensures coverage of essential subdomains and business activities. Based on this evaluation matrix, we collect 3,000 financial scenario questions, consisting of closed-form decision questions with reference answers and open-ended questions evaluated by predefined rubrics. We conduct comprehensive evaluations of state-of-the-art LLMs on the FIRE benchmark, including XuanYuan 4.0, our latest financial-domain model, as a strong in-domain baseline. These results enable a systematic analysis of the capability boundaries of current LLMs in financial applications. We publicly release the benchmark questions and evaluation code to facilitate future research.

Weak phonon coupling to nematic quantum critical mode in $BaFe2(As1-xPx)2$

In this work, we investigate the softening of the in-plane transverse acoustic phonon driven by electronic nematicity in BaFe$_2$(As$_{1-x}$P$_x$)$_2$ using inelastic X-ray scattering, with a focus on the optimally doped sample ($x = 0.31$) sample, a system exhibiting signatures of a putative nematic quantum critical point and minimal disorder among iron pnictides. We observe only a modest softening of the phonon frequency and no evidence of critical damping, suggesting that the nematic quantum critical fluctuations couple only weakly to the lattice from our quantum critical model. Given the close proximity of the structural and magnetic transition temperatures in the underdoped sample, which implies that spin-nematic fluctuations couple strongly to the lattice. We conjecture that the quantum critical nematic fluctuations are predominantly orbital in origin.

Tracing the bottom electroweak dipole operators at future lepton colliders

While often omitted in the SMEFT analyses of electroweak measurements, the electroweak dipole operators of the bottom quark have been found to be important in some cases and are also related to processes involving the top quark. In this paper, we further investigate their effects, focusing on the measurements of the $e^+e^-\to b\bar{b}$ process at a future lepton collider. Their linear contributions are suppressed by the bottom mass due to the helicity flip in the interference term with the SM amplitude, leading to a nontrivial interplay between the linear and the quadratic contributions. With two runs at the Z-pole and 240 GeV, the effects of CP-even dipole coefficients can be well separated from the modifications of the SM $Zb\bar{b}$ couplings, while an additional run (e.g. at 360 GeV) is useful for lifting a nontrivial second best-fit point due to the quadratic contributions.

Emergent ferromagnetic ladder excitations in heavy fermion superconductor CeSb$_{2}$

Low-dimensional spin fluctuations play a crucial role in unconventional superconductors, with quasi-one-dimensional spin excitations potentially linked with spin-triplet superconductivity. The heavy fermion superconductor CeSb$_2$ exhibits an unusual large inverted S-shaped upper critical field that suggests a possible triplet pairing state within its pressure-induced superconducting dome. Using inelastic neutron scattering, we discover quasi-one-dimensional magnetic excitations in CeSb$_2$ emerging from nearly square Ce layers with minor orthorhombic deformation. We show that the data are well described by a ferromagnetic spin ladder model, where the "rungs" of the ladder straddle Ce bilayers. Moreover, we find that diffuse excitations akin to those in the ordered phase persist well above $T_{\rm N}$, suggesting that quasi-one-dimensional ferromagnetic paramagnons may significantly contribute to the unusual superconductivity that appears under pressure once magnetic order is suppressed.

FA-BARF: Frequency Adapted Bundle-Adjusting Neural Radiance Fields

Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) have exhibited highly effective performance for photorealistic novel view synthesis recently. However, the key limitation it meets is the reliance on a hand-crafted frequency annealing strategy to recover 3D scenes with imperfect camera poses. The strategy exploits a temporal low-pass filter to guarantee convergence while decelerating the joint optimization of implicit scene reconstruction and camera registration. In this work, we introduce the Frequency Adapted Bundle Adjusting Radiance Field (FA-BARF), substituting the temporal low-pass filter for a frequency-adapted spatial low-pass filter to address the decelerating problem. We establish a theoretical framework to interpret the relationship between position encoding of NeRF and camera registration and show that our frequency-adapted filter can mitigate frequency fluctuation caused by the temporal filter. Furthermore, we show that applying a spatial low-pass filter in NeRF can optimize camera poses productively through radial uncertainty overlaps among various views. Extensive experiments show that FA-BARF can accelerate the joint optimization process under little perturbations in object-centric scenes and recover real-world scenes with unknown camera poses. This implies wider possibilities for NeRF applied in dense 3D mapping and reconstruction under real-time requirements. The code will be released upon paper acceptance.

FLAME: Financial Large-Language Model Assessment and Metrics Evaluation

LLMs have revolutionized NLP and demonstrated potential across diverse domains. More and more financial LLMs have been introduced for finance-specific tasks, yet comprehensively assessing their value is still challenging. In this paper, we introduce FLAME, a comprehensive financial LLMs evaluation system in Chinese, which includes two core evaluation benchmarks: FLAME-Cer and FLAME-Sce. FLAME-Cer covers 14 types of authoritative financial certifications, including CPA, CFA, and FRM, with a total of approximately 16,000 carefully selected questions. All questions have been manually reviewed to ensure accuracy and representativeness. FLAME-Sce consists of 10 primary core financial business scenarios, 21 secondary financial business scenarios, and a comprehensive evaluation set of nearly 100 tertiary financial application tasks. We evaluate 6 representative LLMs, including GPT-4o, GLM-4, ERNIE-4.0, Qwen2.5, XuanYuan3, and the latest Baichuan4-Finance, revealing Baichuan4-Finance excels other LLMs in most tasks. By establishing a comprehensive and professional evaluation system, FLAME facilitates the advancement of financial LLMs in Chinese contexts. Instructions for participating in the evaluation are available on GitHub: https://github.com/FLAME-ruc/FLAME.

Charge Density Fluctuations with Enhanced Superconductivity at the Proposed Nematic Quantum Critical Point

A quantum critical point (QCP) represents a continuous phase transition at absolute zero. At the QCP of an unconventional superconductor, enhanced superconducting transition temperature and magnetic fluctuations strength are often observed together, indicating magnetism-mediated superconductivity. This raises the question of whether quantum fluctuations in other degrees of freedom, such as charge, could similarly boost superconductivity. However, because charge is frequently intertwined with magnetism, isolating and understanding its specific role in Cooper pair formation poses a significant challenge. Here, we report persistent charge density fluctuations (CDF) down to 15 K in the non-magnetic superconductor Sr$_{0.77}$Ba$_{0.23}$Ni$_{2}$As$_{2}$, which lies near a proposed nematic QCP associated with a six-fold enhancement of superconductivity. Our results show that the quasi-elastic CDF does not condense into resolution-limited Bragg peaks and displays non-saturated strength. The CDF completely softens at 25 K, with its critical behavior described by the same mathematical framework as the antiferromagnetic Fermi liquid model, yielding a fitted Curie-Weiss temperature of $θ\approx 0$ K. Additionally, we find that the nematic fluctuations are not lattice-driven, as evidenced by the absence of softening in nematic-coupled in-plane transverse acoustic phonons. Our discovery positions Sr$_{x}$Ba$_{1-x}$Ni$_{2}$As$_{2}$ as a promising candidate for charge-fluctuation-driven nematicity and superconductivity.

Rethinking Closed-loop Planning Framework for Imitation-based Model Integrating Prediction and Planning

In recent years, the integration of prediction and planning through neural networks has received substantial attention. Despite extensive studies on it, there is a noticeable gap in understanding the operation of such models within a closed-loop planning setting. To bridge this gap, we propose a novel closed-loop planning framework compatible with neural networks engaged in joint prediction and planning. The framework contains two running modes, namely planning and safety monitoring, wherein the neural network performs Motion Prediction and Planning (MPP) and Conditional Motion Prediction (CMP) correspondingly without altering architecture. We evaluate the efficacy of our framework using the nuPlan dataset and its simulator, conducting closed-loop experiments across diverse scenarios. The results demonstrate that the proposed framework ensures the feasibility and local stability of the planning process while maintaining safety with CMP safety monitoring. Compared to other learning-based methods, our approach achieves substantial improvement.

Phonon softening and slowing down of charge-density-wave fluctuations in BaNi$_2$As$_2$

BaNi$_2$As$_2$ is a nonmagnetic analogue of the iron pnictide superconductors, and in its tetragonal state exhibits an incommensurate charge-density-wave (IC-CDW) and a sizable elastoresistance. In this work, phonons in BaNi$_2$As$_2$ associated with the IC-CDW and uniform in-plane lattice distortions are investigated using high-resolution inelastic X-ray scattering. The in-plane transverse acoustic phonons reveal no softening at temperatures where the elastoresistance increases strongly, indicating the latter to be electronically driven. Systematic phonon measurements reveal the IC-CDW occurs in two stages upon cooling: underdamped phonons first soften to zero energy well above the IC-CDW ordering temperature, then the resulting quasielastic IC-CDW fluctuations gradually slow down and coalesce into the static IC-CDW order. A possible origin for our observations is the IC-CDW in tetragonal BaNi$_2$As$_2$ being uniaxial, which provides an additional Ising degree of freedom favorable for disordered IC-CDW modulations, and accounts for the elastoresistance through a weak coupling to the lattice.

Non-uniform continuity of the generalized Camassa-Holm equation in Besov spaces

In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for the generalized Camassa-Holm equation proposed by Hakkaev and Kirchev (2005) \cite{Hakkaev 2005}. We prove that the solution map of the generalized Camassa-Holm equation is not uniformly continuous on the initial data in Besov spaces. Our result include the present work (2020) \cite{Li 2020,Li 2020-1} on Camassa-Holm equation with $Q=1$ and extends the previous non-uniform continuity in Sobolev spaces (2015) \cite{Mi 2015} to Besov spaces. In addition, the non-uniform continuity in critical space $B_{2, 1}^{\frac{3}{2}}(\mathbb{R})$ is the first to be considered in our paper.
