COIG-P: A High-Quality and Large-Scale Chinese Preference Dataset for Alignment with Human Values

Aligning large language models (LLMs) with human preferences has achieved remarkable success. However, existing Chinese preference datasets are limited by small scale, narrow domain coverage, and lack of rigorous data validation. Additionally, the reliance on human annotators for instruction and response labeling significantly constrains the scalability of human preference datasets. To address these challenges, we design an LLM-based Chinese preference dataset annotation pipeline with no human intervention. Specifically, we crawled and carefully filtered 92k high-quality Chinese queries and employed 15 mainstream LLMs to generate and score chosen-rejected response pairs. Based on it, we introduce COIG-P (Chinese Open Instruction Generalist - Preference), a high-quality, large-scale Chinese preference dataset, comprises 1,009k Chinese preference pairs spanning 6 diverse domains: Chat, Code, Math, Logic, Novel, and Role. Building upon COIG-P, to reduce the overhead of using LLMs for scoring, we trained a 8B-sized Chinese Reward Model (CRM) and meticulously constructed a Chinese Reward Benchmark (CRBench). Evaluation results based on AlignBench \citep{liu2024alignbenchbenchmarkingchinesealignment} show that that COIG-P significantly outperforms other Chinese preference datasets, and it brings significant performance improvements ranging from 2% to 12% for the Qwen2/2.5 and Infinity-Instruct-3M-0625 model series, respectively. The results on CRBench demonstrate that our CRM has a strong and robust scoring ability. We apply it to filter chosen-rejected response pairs in a test split of COIG-P, and our experiments show that it is comparable to GPT-4o in identifying low-quality samples while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Our codes and data are released in https://github.com/multimodal-art-projection/COIG-P.

Biomedical Question Answering via Multi-Level Summarization on a Local Knowledge Graph

In Question Answering (QA), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) has revolutionized performance in various domains. However, how to effectively capture multi-document relationships, particularly critical for biomedical tasks, remains an open question. In this work, we propose a novel method that utilizes propositional claims to construct a local knowledge graph from retrieved documents. Summaries are then derived via layerwise summarization from the knowledge graph to contextualize a small language model to perform QA. We achieved comparable or superior performance with our method over RAG baselines on several biomedical QA benchmarks. We also evaluated each individual step of our methodology over a targeted set of metrics, demonstrating its effectiveness.

Federated Learning for Cross-Domain Data Privacy: A Distributed Approach to Secure Collaboration

This paper proposes a data privacy protection framework based on federated learning, which aims to realize effective cross-domain data collaboration under the premise of ensuring data privacy through distributed learning. Federated learning greatly reduces the risk of privacy breaches by training the model locally on each client and sharing only model parameters rather than raw data. The experiment verifies the high efficiency and privacy protection ability of federated learning under different data sources through the simulation of medical, financial, and user data. The results show that federated learning can not only maintain high model performance in a multi-domain data environment but also ensure effective protection of data privacy. The research in this paper provides a new technical path for cross-domain data collaboration and promotes the application of large-scale data analysis and machine learning while protecting privacy.

Pricing Strategies for Different Accuracy Models from the Same Dataset Based on Generalized Hotelling's Law

We consider a scenario where a seller possesses a dataset $D$ and trains it into models of varying accuracies for sale in the market. Due to the reproducibility of data, the dataset can be reused to train models with different accuracies, and the training cost is independent of the sales volume. These two characteristics lead to fundamental differences between the data trading market and traditional trading markets. The introduction of different models into the market inevitably gives rise to competition. However, due to the varying accuracies of these models, traditional multi-oligopoly games are not applicable. We consider a generalized Hotelling's law, where the accuracy of the models is abstracted as distance. Buyers choose to purchase models based on a trade-off between accuracy and price, while sellers determine their pricing strategies based on the market's demand. We present two pricing strategies: static pricing strategy and dynamic pricing strategy, and we focus on the static pricing strategy. We propose static pricing mechanisms based on various market conditions and provide an example. Finally, we demonstrate that our pricing strategy remains robust in the context of incomplete information games.

Theoretical Uncertainties in First-Order Electroweak Phase Transitions

We systematically investigate theoretical uncertainties in perturbative analyses of first-order electroweak phase transitions (EWPT). Utilizing the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) framework, we quantify the gauge dependence, renormalization scheme, and scale dependences in predicting phase-transition parameters across both zero and finite chemical potential regimes. Our key findings reveal that: 1) the gauge-parameter dependence and the chemical potential are subdominants, and 2) Baryon number preservation criteria and phase transition observables exhibit pronounced sensitivity to the renormalization scale in the ${\overline{\rm MS}}$ scheme. Comparative analyses with the on-shell scheme demonstrate that within strongly first-order EWPT parameter spaces, the ${\overline{\rm MS}}$ scheme predicts enhanced phase transition strengths and prolonged transition durations.

On the best accuracy using the $h$-adaptive finite element refinement

In \cite{liu2022practical}, a general algorithm is developed to efficiently obtain the best accuracy using the regular refinement. The adaptive refinement allows for obtaining an accuracy with a smaller number of DoFs compared with the regular refinement. In this paper, we investigate the best accuracy when using the adaptive refinement. To this end, we study the evolution of the truncation error and the round-off error using the adaptive refinement. For the former, a new threshold for the selection of the number of elements to be refined is proposed. For the latter, the round-off error is quantified using the method proposed in \cite{liu2022practical}. Moreover, for achieving a tolerance, we propose to use the line of the round-off error as a stopping criterion.

AgentDropout: Dynamic Agent Elimination for Token-Efficient and High-Performance LLM-Based Multi-Agent Collaboration

Multi-agent systems (MAS) based on large language models (LLMs) have demonstrated significant potential in collaborative problem-solving. However, they still face substantial challenges of low communication efficiency and suboptimal task performance, making the careful design of the agents' communication topologies particularly important. Inspired by the management theory that roles in an efficient team are often dynamically adjusted, we propose AgentDropout, which identifies redundant agents and communication across different communication rounds by optimizing the adjacency matrices of the communication graphs and eliminates them to enhance both token efficiency and task performance. Compared to state-of-the-art methods, AgentDropout achieves an average reduction of 21.6% in prompt token consumption and 18.4% in completion token consumption, along with a performance improvement of 1.14 on the tasks. Furthermore, the extended experiments demonstrate that AgentDropout achieves notable domain transferability and structure robustness, revealing its reliability and effectiveness. We release our code at https://github.com/wangzx1219/AgentDropout.

Super-exponential behaviors of out-of-time ordered correlators and Loschmidt echo in a non-Hermitian interacting system

We investigate the out-of-time ordered correlators and Loschmidt echo in a non-Hermitian interacting system governed by a Gross-Pitaevskii map model, which incorporates a periodically modulated complex strength of the nonlinear interaction as delta kicks. We uncover that the time evolutions of the out-of-time ordered correlators follow that of the Loschmidt echo in certain situations. In particular, we find that both of them can exhibit a super-exponential growth with time, indicating the emergence of super-exponential scrambling and instability. Interestingly, after a proper scaling scheme, we find that all the super-exponential behaviors approximately collapse on a scaling-law curve that is independent on the non-Hermitian parameter as well as the effective Planck constant. The underlying mechanism is rooted in the super-exponentially fast diffusion of energy as well as the norm of quantum states. Our findings suggest a kind of fastest divergence of two nearby quantum states, which has implication in information scrambling.

Enhancing Zero-Shot Image Recognition in Vision-Language Models through Human-like Concept Guidance

In zero-shot image recognition tasks, humans demonstrate remarkable flexibility in classifying unseen categories by composing known simpler concepts. However, existing vision-language models (VLMs), despite achieving significant progress through large-scale natural language supervision, often underperform in real-world applications because of sub-optimal prompt engineering and the inability to adapt effectively to target classes. To address these issues, we propose a Concept-guided Human-like Bayesian Reasoning (CHBR) framework. Grounded in Bayes' theorem, CHBR models the concept used in human image recognition as latent variables and formulates this task by summing across potential concepts, weighted by a prior distribution and a likelihood function. To tackle the intractable computation over an infinite concept space, we introduce an importance sampling algorithm that iteratively prompts large language models (LLMs) to generate discriminative concepts, emphasizing inter-class differences. We further propose three heuristic approaches involving Average Likelihood, Confidence Likelihood, and Test Time Augmentation (TTA) Likelihood, which dynamically refine the combination of concepts based on the test image. Extensive evaluations across fifteen datasets demonstrate that CHBR consistently outperforms existing state-of-the-art zero-shot generalization methods.

Vision-Language Gradient Descent-driven All-in-One Deep Unfolding Networks

Dynamic image degradations, including noise, blur and lighting inconsistencies, pose significant challenges in image restoration, often due to sensor limitations or adverse environmental conditions. Existing Deep Unfolding Networks (DUNs) offer stable restoration performance but require manual selection of degradation matrices for each degradation type, limiting their adaptability across diverse scenarios. To address this issue, we propose the Vision-Language-guided Unfolding Network (VLU-Net), a unified DUN framework for handling multiple degradation types simultaneously. VLU-Net leverages a Vision-Language Model (VLM) refined on degraded image-text pairs to align image features with degradation descriptions, selecting the appropriate transform for target degradation. By integrating an automatic VLM-based gradient estimation strategy into the Proximal Gradient Descent (PGD) algorithm, VLU-Net effectively tackles complex multi-degradation restoration tasks while maintaining interpretability. Furthermore, we design a hierarchical feature unfolding structure to enhance VLU-Net framework, efficiently synthesizing degradation patterns across various levels. VLU-Net is the first all-in-one DUN framework and outperforms current leading one-by-one and all-in-one end-to-end methods by 3.74 dB on the SOTS dehazing dataset and 1.70 dB on the Rain100L deraining dataset.

Communication Efficient Federated Learning with Linear Convergence on Heterogeneous Data

By letting local clients perform multiple local updates before communicating with a parameter server, modern federated learning algorithms such as FedAvg tackle the communication bottleneck problem in distributed learning and have found many successful applications. However, this asynchrony between local updates and communication also leads to a ''client-drift'' problem when the data is heterogeneous (not independent and identically distributed), resulting in errors in the final learning result. In this paper, we propose a federated learning algorithm, which is called FedCET, to ensure accurate convergence even under heterogeneous distributions of data across clients. Inspired by the distributed optimization algorithm NIDS, we use learning rates to weight information received from local clients to eliminate the ''client-drift''. We prove that under appropriate learning rates, FedCET can ensure linear convergence to the exact solution. Different from existing algorithms which have to share both gradients and a drift-correction term to ensure accurate convergence under heterogeneous data distributions, FedCET only shares one variable, which significantly reduces communication overhead. Numerical comparison with existing counterpart algorithms confirms the effectiveness of FedCET.

Binarized Mamba-Transformer for Lightweight Quad Bayer HybridEVS Demosaicing

Quad Bayer demosaicing is the central challenge for enabling the widespread application of Hybrid Event-based Vision Sensors (HybridEVS). Although existing learning-based methods that leverage long-range dependency modeling have achieved promising results, their complexity severely limits deployment on mobile devices for real-world applications. To address these limitations, we propose a lightweight Mamba-based binary neural network designed for efficient and high-performing demosaicing of HybridEVS RAW images. First, to effectively capture both global and local dependencies, we introduce a hybrid Binarized Mamba-Transformer architecture that combines the strengths of the Mamba and Swin Transformer architectures. Next, to significantly reduce computational complexity, we propose a binarized Mamba (Bi-Mamba), which binarizes all projections while retaining the core Selective Scan in full precision. Bi-Mamba also incorporates additional global visual information to enhance global context and mitigate precision loss. We conduct quantitative and qualitative experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of BMTNet in both performance and computational efficiency, providing a lightweight demosaicing solution suited for real-world edge devices. Our codes and models are available at https://github.com/Clausy9/BMTNet.

Context-Aware Rule Mining Using a Dynamic Transformer-Based Framework

This study proposes a dynamic rule data mining algorithm based on an improved Transformer architecture, aiming to improve the accuracy and efficiency of rule mining in a dynamic data environment. With the increase in data volume and complexity, traditional data mining methods are difficult to cope with dynamic data with strong temporal and variable characteristics, so new algorithms are needed to capture the temporal regularity in the data. By improving the Transformer architecture, and introducing a dynamic weight adjustment mechanism and a temporal dependency module, we enable the model to adapt to data changes and mine more accurate rules. Experimental results show that compared with traditional rule mining algorithms, the improved Transformer model has achieved significant improvements in rule mining accuracy, coverage, and stability. The contribution of each module in the algorithm performance is further verified by ablation experiments, proving the importance of temporal dependency and dynamic weight adjustment mechanisms in improving the model effect. In addition, although the improved model has certain challenges in computational efficiency, its advantages in accuracy and coverage enable it to perform well in processing complex dynamic data. Future research will focus on optimizing computational efficiency and combining more deep learning technologies to expand the application scope of the algorithm, especially in practical applications in the fields of finance, medical care, and intelligent recommendation.

RASA: Replace Anyone, Say Anything -- A Training-Free Framework for Audio-Driven and Universal Portrait Video Editing

Portrait video editing focuses on modifying specific attributes of portrait videos, guided by audio or video streams. Previous methods typically either concentrate on lip-region reenactment or require training specialized models to extract keypoints for motion transfer to a new identity. In this paper, we introduce a training-free universal portrait video editing framework that provides a versatile and adaptable editing strategy. This framework supports portrait appearance editing conditioned on the changed first reference frame, as well as lip editing conditioned on varied speech, or a combination of both. It is based on a Unified Animation Control (UAC) mechanism with source inversion latents to edit the entire portrait, including visual-driven shape control, audio-driven speaking control, and inter-frame temporal control. Furthermore, our method can be adapted to different scenarios by adjusting the initial reference frame, enabling detailed editing of portrait videos with specific head rotations and facial expressions. This comprehensive approach ensures a holistic and flexible solution for portrait video editing. The experimental results show that our model can achieve more accurate and synchronized lip movements for the lip editing task, as well as more flexible motion transfer for the appearance editing task. Observing the exponential growth of the eigenmodes in the absence of coalescence for a non-Hermitian circuit with an unavoidable inductor dissipation

We investigate, both experimentally and theoretically, the eigenmodes of an electronic circuit in which gain and loss $RLC$ resonators are coupled through a capacitor. Due to the unavoidable magnetic loss in the inductors, we find that the eigenmode coalescence no longer emerges in contrast to the conventional non-Hermitian systems with the spontaneous $\cal{PT}$-symmetry breaking. In particular, we find a transition from the exponential decay to exponential growth in the amplitude of the periodic voltage oscillations of the resonators. The transition occurs near the exceptional points of the non-Hermitian circuit without considering the dissipations in inductors. We introduce a small resistor of three orders of magnitude smaller than that of the $RLC$ resonators to mimic the energy dissipation in inductors and numerically solve the equivalent non-Hermitian Schr{\" o}dinger equation. The numerical results can well reproduce experimental observations. Our above findings unambiguously indicate that the exponential growth behavior beyond the exceptional points is robust against some unavoidable dissipative perturbations.

LMM-R1: Empowering 3B LMMs with Strong Reasoning Abilities Through Two-Stage Rule-Based RL

Enhancing reasoning in Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) faces unique challenges from the complex interplay between visual perception and logical reasoning, particularly in compact 3B-parameter architectures where architectural constraints limit reasoning capacity and modality alignment. While rule-based reinforcement learning (RL) excels in text-only domains, its multimodal extension confronts two critical barriers: (1) data limitations due to ambiguous answers and scarce complex reasoning examples, and (2) degraded foundational reasoning induced by multimodal pretraining. To address these challenges, we propose \textbf{LMM-R1}, a two-stage framework adapting rule-based RL for multimodal reasoning through \textbf{Foundational Reasoning Enhancement (FRE)} followed by \textbf{Multimodal Generalization Training (MGT)}. The FRE stage first strengthens reasoning abilities using text-only data with rule-based RL, then the MGT stage generalizes these reasoning capabilities to multimodal domains. Experiments on Qwen2.5-VL-Instruct-3B demonstrate that LMM-R1 achieves 4.83\% and 4.5\% average improvements over baselines in multimodal and text-only benchmarks, respectively, with a 3.63\% gain in complex Football Game tasks. These results validate that text-based reasoning enhancement enables effective multimodal generalization, offering a data-efficient paradigm that bypasses costly high-quality multimodal training data.

CATANet: Efficient Content-Aware Token Aggregation for Lightweight Image Super-Resolution

Transformer-based methods have demonstrated impressive performance in low-level visual tasks such as Image Super-Resolution (SR). However, its computational complexity grows quadratically with the spatial resolution. A series of works attempt to alleviate this problem by dividing Low-Resolution images into local windows, axial stripes, or dilated windows. SR typically leverages the redundancy of images for reconstruction, and this redundancy appears not only in local regions but also in long-range regions. However, these methods limit attention computation to content-agnostic local regions, limiting directly the ability of attention to capture long-range dependency. To address these issues, we propose a lightweight Content-Aware Token Aggregation Network (CATANet). Specifically, we propose an efficient Content-Aware Token Aggregation module for aggregating long-range content-similar tokens, which shares token centers across all image tokens and updates them only during the training phase. Then we utilize intra-group self-attention to enable long-range information interaction. Moreover, we design an inter-group cross-attention to further enhance global information interaction. The experimental results show that, compared with the state-of-the-art cluster-based method SPIN, our method achieves superior performance, with a maximum PSNR improvement of 0.33dB and nearly double the inference speed.

"Stones from Other Hills can Polish Jade": Zero-shot Anomaly Image Synthesis via Cross-domain Anomaly Injection

Industrial image anomaly detection (IAD) is a pivotal topic with huge value. Due to anomaly's nature, real anomalies in a specific modern industrial domain (i.e. domain-specific anomalies) are usually too rare to collect, which severely hinders IAD. Thus, zero-shot anomaly synthesis (ZSAS), which synthesizes pseudo anomaly images without any domain-specific anomaly, emerges as a vital technique for IAD. However, existing solutions are either unable to synthesize authentic pseudo anomalies, or require cumbersome training. Thus, we focus on ZSAS and propose a brand-new paradigm that can realize both authentic and training-free ZSAS. It is based on a chronically-ignored fact: Although domain-specific anomalies are rare, real anomalies from other domains (i.e. cross-domain anomalies) are actually abundant and directly applicable to ZSAS. Specifically, our new ZSAS paradigm makes three-fold contributions: First, we propose a novel method named Cross-domain Anomaly Injection (CAI), which directly exploits cross-domain anomalies to enable highly authentic ZSAS in a training-free manner. Second, to supply CAI with sufficient cross-domain anomalies, we build the first Domain-agnostic Anomaly Dataset within our best knowledge, which provides ZSAS with abundant real anomaly patterns. Third, we propose a CAI-guided Diffusion Mechanism, which further breaks the quantity limit of real anomalies and enable unlimited anomaly synthesis. Our head-to-head comparison with existing ZSAS solutions justifies our paradigm's superior performance for IAD and demonstrates it as an effective and pragmatic ZSAS solution.
