Quantum properties of fermionic fields in multi-event horizon spacetime

We investigate the properties of quantum entanglement and mutual information in the multi-event horizon Schwarzschild-de Sitter (SdS) spacetime for massless Dirac fields. We obtain the expression for the evolutions of the quantum state near the black hole event horizon (BEH) and cosmological event horizon (CEH) in the SdS spacetime. Under the Nariai limit, the physically accessible entanglement and mutual information are maximized, and the physically inaccessible correlations are zero. With the increase in temperature of either horizon, the physically accessible correlations experience degradation. Notably, the initial state remains entangled and can be utilized in entanglement-based quantum information processing tasks, which differs form the scalar field case. Furthermore, the degradation of physically accessible correlations is more pronounced for small-mass black holes. In contrast, the physically inaccessible correlations separated by the CEH monotonically increase with the radiation temperature, and such correlations are not decisively influenced by the effect of particle creation at the BEH. Moreover, a similar phenomenon is observed for the inaccessible correlations separated by the BEH. This result differs from the single event spacetime, in which the physically inaccessible entanglement is a monotonic function of the Hawking temperature.

Gravito-electromagnetic perturbations of MOG black holes with a cosmological constant: Quasinormal modes and Ringdown waveforms

In this paper, we present a black hole solution with a cosmological constant in the Scalar-Tensor-Vector Modified Gravity (MOG) theory, where the strength of the gravitational constant is determined by $G = G_\text{N}(1+α)$. We derive the master equations for gravito-electromagnetic perturbations and numerically solve for the Quasinormal Mode (QNM) spectrum and the ringdown waveforms. Our research results show that increasing the MOG parameter $α$ leads to a decrease in both the real and imaginary parts of the QNM frequencies for electromagnetic and gravitational modes. Similarly, increasing the cosmological constant $Λ$ also results in a decrease in both the real and imaginary parts of the QNM frequencies for these modes. These trends are observed when compared to standard Schwarzschild-de Sitter (S-dS) or MOG black holes, respectively. Meanwhile, the result indicates that in the MOG-de Sitter spacetime, the frequencies for electromagnetic and gravitational modes display isospectrality, and exhibit the same ringdown waveforms. Our findings have implications for the ringdown phase of mergers involving massive compact objects, which is of particular relevance given the recent detections of gravitational waves by LIGO.

Measurements of the Hubble constant from combinations of supernovae and radio quasars

In this letter, we propose an improved cosmological model independent method of determining the value of the Hubble constant $H_0$. The method uses unanchored luminosity distances $H_0d_L(z)$ from SN Ia Pantheon data combined with angular diameter distances $d_A(z)$ from a sample of intermediate luminosity radio quasars calibrated as standard rulers. The distance duality relation between $d_L(z)$ and $d_A(z)$, which is robust and independent of any cosmological model, allows to disentangle $H_0$ from such combination. However, the number of redshift matched quasars and SN Ia pairs is small (37 data-points). Hence, we take an advantage from the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) method to recover the $d_A(z)$ relation from a network trained on full 120 radio quasar sample. In this case, the result is unambiguously consistent with values of $H_0$ obtained from local probes by SH0ES and H0LiCOW collaborations. Three statistical summary measures: weighted mean $\widetilde{H}_0=73.51(\pm0.67) {~km~s^{-1}~Mpc^{-1}}$, median $Med(H_0)=74.71(\pm4.08) {~km~s^{-1}~Mpc^{-1}}$ and MCMC simulated posterior distribution $H_0=73.52^{+0.66}_{-0.68} {~km~s^{-1}~Mpc^{-1}}$ are fully consistent with each other and the precision reached $1\%$ level. This is encouraging for the future applications of our method. Because individual measurements of $H_0$ are related to different redshifts spanning the range $z=0.5 - 2.0$, we take advantage of this fact to check if there is any noticeable trend in $H_0$ measurements with redshift of objects used for this purpose. However, our result is that the data we used strongly support the lack of such systematic effects.

Effective metric of spinless binaries with radiation-reaction effect up to fourth Post-Minkowskian order in effective-one-body theory

By means of the scattering angles, we obtain an effective metric of spinless binaries with radiation-reaction effects up to fourth post-Minkowskian order, which is the foundation of the effective-one-body theory. We note that there are freedoms for the parameters of the effective metric because one equation corresponds to two parameters for each post-Minkowskian order. Accordingly, in order to construct a self-consistent effective-one-body theory in which the Hamiltonian, radiation-reaction forces and waveforms for the ``plus" and ``cross" modes of the gravitational wave should be based on the same physical model, we can fix these freedoms by requiring the null tetrad component of the gravitationally perturbed Weyl tensor $Ψ_4^B$ to be decoupled in the effective spacetime.

QNMs of slowly rotating Einstein-Bumblebee Black Hole

We have studied the quasinormal modes (QNMs) of a slowly rotating black hole with Lorentz-violating parameter in Einstein-bumblebee gravity. We analyse the slow rotation approximation of the rotating black hole in the Einstein-bumblebee gravity, and obtain the master equations for scalar perturbation, vector perturbation and axial gravitational perturbation, respectively. Using the matrix method and the continuous fraction method, we numerically calculate the QNM frequencies. In particular, for scalar field, it shows that the QNMs up to the second order of rotation parameter have higher accuracy. The numerical results show that, for both scalar and vector fields, the Lorentz-violating parameter has a significant effect on the imaginary part of the QNM frequencies, while having a relatively smaller impact on the real part of the QNM frequencies. But for axial gravitational perturbation, the effect of increasing the Lorentz-violating parameter $\ell$ is similar to that of increasing the rotation parameter $\tilde{a}$.

Entanglement-enhanced quantum ranging in the near-Earth spacetime

We propose a quantum ranging protocol to determine the distance between an observer and a target at the line of sight in the near-Earth curved spacetime. Unlike the quantum illumination scheme, here we employ multiple quantum hypothesis testing to decide the presence and location of the target at the same time. In the present protocol, the gravity of the Earth influences the propagation of photons and the performance of quantum ranging. We find that the maximum potential advantages of the quantum ranging strategy in the curved spacetime outperform its flat spacetime counterpart. This is because the effect of gravitational red-shift and blue-shift on the entangled signal photons can be canceled out, while the thermal photons only suffers from the gravitational blue-shift effect. We also show that the number of transmitted modes can promote the maximum potential advantage of the quantum ranging tasks. The maximum potential advantage of quantum ranging in the curved spacetime can not be raised sharply by dividing the range into multiple slices.

Generation of quantum coherence for continuous variables between causally disconnected regions in dilaton spacetime

We study the dynamics of Gaussian quantum coherence under the background of a Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger dilaton black hole. It is shown that the dilaton field has evident effects on the degree of coherence for all the bipartite subsystems. The bipartite Gaussian coherence is not affected by the frequency of the scalar field for an uncharged or an extreme dilaton black hole. It is found that the initial coherence is not completely destroyed even for an extreme dilaton black hole, which is quite different from the behavior of quantum steering because the latter suffers from a "sudden death" under the same conditions. This is nontrivial because one can employ quantum coherence as a resource for quantum information processing tasks even if quantum correlations have been destroyed by the strong gravitational field. In addition, it is demonstrated that the generation of quantum coherence between the initial separable modes is easier for low-frequency scalar fields. At the same time, quantum coherence is smoothly generated betweenone pair of partners and exhibits a "sudden birth" behavior between another pairs in the curved spacetime.

New self-consistent effective one-body theory for spinless binaries based on the post-Minkowskian approximation

The effective one-body theories, introduced by Buonanno and Damour, are novel approaches to constructing a gravitational waveform template. By taking a gauge in which $ψ_{1}^{B}$ and $ψ_{3}^{B}$ vanish, we find a decoupled equation with separable variables for $ψ^{B}_{4}$ for gravitational perturbation in the effective metric obtained in the post-Minkowskian approximation. Furthermore, we set up a new self-consistent effective one-body theory for spinless binaries, which can be applicable to any post-Minkowskian orders. This theory not only releases the assumption that $v/c$ should be a small quantity but also resolves the contradiction that the Hamiltonian, radiation-reaction force, and waveform are constructed from different physical models in the effective one-body theory with the post-Newtonian approximation. Compared with our previous theory (Science China, 65, 260411, (2022)), the computational effort for the radiation-reaction force and waveform in this new theory will be tremendously reduced.

Gravity enhanced quantum spatial target detection

Quantum illumination can utilize entangled light to detect the low-reflectivity target that is hidden in a bright thermal background. This technique is applied to the detection of an object in the curved spacetime of the Earth, in order to explore how the curvature of spacetime affects quantum illumination. It is found that the spatial quantum illumination with entangled state transmitter outperforms that with coherent-state transmitter in the near-Earth curved spacetime. Moreover, either the quantum illumination system or the coherent-state system is employed, and gravity can enhance the spacetime target detection by reducing the thermal signal at the receiver. Besides, our model in principle can be applied to microwave quantum illumination and thus provides, to some degree, a theoretical foundation for the upcoming spatial quantum radar technologies.

Black-box estimation of expanding parameter for de Sitter universe

We study the black-box parameter estimation of expanding parameters and the dynamics of Gaussian interferometric power for the de Sitter space. We find that the state between separated open charts can be employed as probe state for the black-box quantum metrology. This is nontrivial because the open charts are causally disconnected and classical information can not be exchanged between them according to the general relativity. It is shown that the mass of the scalar field remarkably affects the accuracy of the black-box parameter estimation in the de Sitter space, which is quite different from the flat space case where the mass parameter does not influence the precision of estimation. Quantum discord is found to be a key resource for the estimation of the expanding parameter when there is no entanglement between the initially uncorrelated open charts. It is demonstrated that the role of the probe state between different open charts is quite distinct because curvature effect of the de sitter space damages quantum resources for the initially correlated probe states, while it generates quantum resources for the initially uncorrelated probe states.

Gaussian quantum steering under the influence of a dilaton black hole

We study the dynamics of Gaussian quantum steering in the background of a Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger dilaton black hole. It is found that the gravity induced by dilaton field will destroy the quantum steerability between the inertial observer Alice and the observer Bob who hovers outside the event horizon, while it generates steering-type quantum correlations between the causally disconnected regions. Therefore, the observers can steer each other's state by local measurements even though they are separated by the event horizon. Unlike quantum entanglement in the dilaton spacetime, the quantum steering experiences catastrophic behaviors such as "sudden death" and "sudden birth" with increasing dilaton charge. In addition, the dilaton gravity destroys the symmetry of Gaussian steering and the latter is always asymmetric in the dilation spacetime. Interestingly, the attainment of maximal steering asymmetry indicates the critical point between one-way and two-way steering for the two-mode Gaussian state in the dilaton spacetime.

Distribution and generation of quantum coherence for Gaussian states in de Sitter space

We study the distribution and generation of quantum coherence for two-mode and multi-mode Gaussian states in de Sitter space. It is found that the quantum coherence is redistributed among the mode in different open charts under the curvature effect of de Sitter space. In particular, the Gaussian coherence for the initially correlated state is found to survive in the limit of infinite curvature, while quantum entanglement vanishing in this limit. Unlike entanglement and steering, the coherence of a massive scalar field is more robust than a massless field under the influence of curvature of de Sitter space. In addition, it is shown that the curvature generates two-mode Gaussian state and three-mode Gaussian state quantum coherence among the open charts, even though the observers are localized in causally disconnected regions. It is worth noting that the gravity-generated three-mode coherence is extremely sensitive to the curvature effect for the conformal and massless scalar fields, which may be in principle employed to design an effective detector for the space curvature.

Shadow of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by a Bach-Weyl ring

We have studied the shadows of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by a Bach-Weyl ring through the backward ray-tracing method. The presence of Bach-Weyl ring leads to that the photon dynamical system is non-integrable and then chaos would appear in the photon motion, which affects sharply the black hole shadow. The size and shape the black hole shadow depend on the black hole parameter, the Bach-Weyl ring mass and the Weyl radius between black hole and ring. Some self-similar fractal structures also appear in the black hole shadow, which originates from the chaotic lensing. We also study the change of the image of Bach-Weyl ring with the ring mass and the Weyl radius. Finally, we analyze the invariant manifolds of Lyapunov orbits near the fixed points and discuss further the formation of the shadow of a Schwarzschild black hole with Bach-Weyl ring.

Estimating the Unruh effect via entangled many-body probes

We study the estimation of parameters in a quantum metrology scheme based on entangled many-body Unruh-DeWitt detectors. It is found that the precision for the estimation of Unruh effect can be enhanced via initial state preparations and parameter selections. It is shown that the precision in the estimation of the Unruh temperature in terms of a many-body-probe metrology is always better than the precision in two probe strategies. The proper acceleration for Bob's detector and the interaction between the accelerated detector and the external field have significant influences on the precision for the Unruh effect's estimation. In addition, the probe state prepared with more excited atoms in the initial state is found to perform better than less excited initial states. However, different from the estimation of the Unruh temperature, the estimation of the effective coupling parameter for the accelerated detector requires more total atoms but less excited atoms in the estimations.

Quantum steering for continuous variable in de Sitter space

We study the distribution of quantum steerability for continuous variables between two causally disconnected open charts in de Sitter space. It is shown that quantum steerability suffers from "sudden death" in de Sitter space, which is quite different from the behaviors of entanglement and discord because the latter always survives and the former vanishes only in the limit of infinite curvature. In addition, we find that the attainment of maximal steerability asymmetry indicates a transition between unidirectional steerable and bidirectional steerable. Unlike in the flat space, the asymmetry of quantum steerability can be completely destroyed in the limit of infinite curvature for the conformal and massless scalar fields in de Sitter space.

Synchronize accelerated clock in a multipartite relativistic quantum system

We perform a protocol for multipartite quantum clock synchronization under the influence of Unruh thermal noise. The clocks consisting of Unruh-DeWitt detectors when one of detectors accelerated is obtained. To estimate the time difference between the clocks, we calculate the time probability and analyze how the probability is influenced by the Unruh thermal noise and other factors. It is shown that both relativistic motion and interaction between the atom and the external scalar field affect the choice of optimal number of excited atoms in the initial state, which leads to a higher clock adjustment accuracy. Time probabilities for different types of initial states approach to the same value in the limit of infinite acceleration, while tend to different minimums with increasing number of atoms. In addition, the accuracy of clock synchronization using a pair of entangled clocks in two-party system is always higher than in an multipartite system, while the optimal $Z$-type multipartite initial state always perform better than the $W$-type state.

Synchronization and estimation of gravity-induced time difference for quantum clocks

It has recently been reported [\textit{PNAS} \textbf{114}, 2303 (2017)] that, under an operational definition of time, quantum clocks would get entangled through gravitational effects. Here we study an alternative scenario: the clocks have different masses and energy gaps, which would produce time difference via gravitational interaction. The proposal of quantum clock synchronization for the gravity-induced time difference is discussed. We illustrate how the stability of measurement probability in the quantum clock synchronization proposal is influenced by the gravitational interaction induced by the clock themselves. It is found that the precision of clock synchronization depends on the energy gaps of the clocks and the improvement of precision in quantum metrology is in fact an indicator of entanglement generation. We also present the quantum enhanced estimation of time difference and find that the quantum Fisher information is very sensitive to the distance between the clocks.

Generation of genuine tripartite entanglement for continuous variables in de Sitter space

We study the distribution of quantum entanglement for continuous variables among causally disconnected open charts in de Sitter space. It is found that genuine tripartite entanglement is generated among the open chart modes under the influence of curvature of de Sitter space for any nonzero squeezing. Bipartite entanglement is also generated when the curvature is strong enough, even though the observers are separated by the event horizon. This provides a clearcut interpretation of the two-mode squeezing mechanism in the de Sitter space. In addition, the curvature generated genuine tripartite entanglement is found to be less sensitive to the mass parameter than the generated bipartite entanglement. The effects of the curvature of de Sitter space on the generated entanglement become more apparent in the limit of conformal and massless scalar fields.
