Group-of-Latents: Perceptual Video Compression at Extreme Bitrates via Masked Latent Generative Modeling

Most existing video compression algorithms follow a paradigm of transformation and quantization, optimizing the trade-off between distortion and bitrate. However, extremely low-bitrate compression remains an underexplored frontier where perceptual quality optimization under severely constrained coding resources has not been adequately addressed. In this paper, we propose a unified generative framework that leverages pre-trained Diffusion Transformer (DiT) priors to achieve high perceptual quality at extremely low bitrates. We first introduce a flexible Group-of-Latents (GoL) strategy within the latent space of a causal tokenizer, explicitly partitioning the latent stream into intra $I$-latents and inter $P$-latents. The Deep Compression Module (I-DCM) then encodes key $I$-latents to preserve perceptual anchors with minimal overhead. Building upon these anchors, the DiT-based Unified Latent Denoising Module (U-LDM) refines intra-frame textures and synthesizes $P$-latents from noise, reconstructing temporal dynamics at zero additional bitrate cost. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method uniquely operates in the extreme-low-bitrate regime (e.g., (<0.005) bpp), achieving state-of-the-art perceptual fidelity with rich spatial details and robust temporal consistency. The code will be made publicly available.

Risk-Aware Decision-Making for Autonomous Overtaking: A World Model-Based Mixture-of-Experts Framework

Autonomous highway overtaking demands foresighted decision-making to handle complex interactions, stochastic traffic evolution, and temporal risk accumulation. However, standard safe reinforcement learning approaches typically rely on implicit value-based risk estimations rather than explicit dynamics modeling, thereby struggling to accurately capture complex risk propagation over multi-step horizons. This limitation frequently results in behaviors that are locally safe but induce substantial latent risks in the long term. To address this, a World Model-based Risk-aware Mixture-of-Experts (WM-RMoE) framework is proposed. First, a learned latent dynamics model facilitates parallel multi-step rollouts, elevating safety assessment from the action level to the trajectory level via cumulative risk evaluation. Second, to enhance robustness under varying interaction intensities, a hierarchical gating mechanism dynamically coordinates experts across long-horizon, short-horizon, and rule-based safety modules. Furthermore, a Gaussian Mixture Model is integrated to preserve multimodal maneuvering branches, thereby mitigating the issue of behavioral mode averaging. Experimental results demonstrate that WM-RMoE significantly outperforms representative baselines in terms of safety compliance, decision stability, and generalization capability. Furthermore, benefiting from the risk-aware formulation, the proposed framework uniquely exhibits the ability to generate foresighted and semantically distinct overtaking maneuvers across diverse traffic densities.

SafeDojo: Safe Reinforcement Learning for VLA via Interactive World Model

Safe control is a prerequisite for real-world embodied intelligence, for which safe reinforcement learning has emerged as a promising paradigm. However, existing safe reinforcement learning methods either require costly real-world exploration or depend on hand-crafted safety functions. Neither scales to vision-language-action models deployed in open-world physical environments. We propose SafeDojo, the first model-based safe reinforcement learning framework for vision-language-action policies designed to learn safe actions through world model-based imagination. Specifically, SafeDojo performs online reinforcement learning on top of an interactive video world model. The world model generates action-conditioned future predictions, from which a tailored ResNet success classifier estimates per-step task progress from imagined frames and a lightweight safety head predicts per-step safety costs from latent context together with the proposed action chunk, enabling simultaneous assessment of task execution and trajectory safety. The decoupled task-reward and safety-cost signals are balanced through a Lagrangian-based constrained GRPO objective, enabling coordinated improvement of task success and safety under explicit constraints. On SafeLIBERO, SafeDojo achieves the best aggregate task success, safe success, and execution efficiency among inference-time safety, model-free RL, and model-based RL baselines, with the best average safe-success rate on both levels and an 8.25 percentage-point improvement over the strongest baseline on Level I. Real-world Franka deployment further shows the best average task and safe-success rates across five tasks. Our results position world model-based safe reinforcement learning as a scalable and generalizable path toward safe embodied intelligence.

3rd Place Solution to "Google Landmark Retrieval 2020"

Image retrieval is a fundamental problem in computer vision. This paper presents our 3rd place detailed solution to the Google Landmark Retrieval 2020 challenge. We focus on the exploration of data cleaning and models with metric learning. We use a data cleaning strategy based on embedding clustering. Besides, we employ a data augmentation method called Corner-Cutmix, which improves the model's ability to recognize multi-scale and occluded landmark images. We show in detail the ablation experiments and results of our method.
