Revisiting Local Context for Long-Horizon Streaming 3D Reconstruction

Streaming 3D reconstruction from extremely long videos requires estimating camera motion and scene geometry online under bounded memory and computation. Early streaming models achieve causal, bounded-cost inference using finite context buffers or compact recurrent states, yet their estimates often deteriorate as sequences grow. Recent methods improve long-horizon stability by coupling short-range context with persistent or multi-level long-range memory. We pursue a different route: we keep the learned temporal state strictly local and formulate predictions whose targets remain independent of sequence length. We present ABot-Recon, a simple streaming model that caches KV features from only the preceding 11 frames. It predicts a point map in the current camera coordinate system together with an adjacent-frame relative pose. These predictions remain equivariant under changes of reference frame, and global poses and geometry are recovered through sequential composition. To reduce accumulated drift, a lightweight temporal refiner improves relative rotations using recent visual and motion context, while a composition-aware pose loss supervises multi-step pose composition. Extensive evaluations on challenging long-sequence benchmarks demonstrate the superior long-horizon performance of our local-context approach. On Oxford Spires, ABot-Recon achieves an ATE of 4.35 m and an RPE-R of $0.12^\circ$, reducing both errors by approximately 40\% relative to the best prior results.

GS-Voxel: Fitting-Free Structured Latents for Large-Scale 3DGS Generation

Many scalable latent 3D generators operate on structured tensors, whereas pre-optimized 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) reconstructions are unordered, spatially irregular, and vary widely in primitive count. We present GS-Voxel, a fitting-free structured latent framework, and evaluate it for large-scale aerial 3D Gaussian scene generation. GS-Voxel deterministically converts a compatible pre-optimized 3DGS reconstruction into sparse active voxels without additional per-scene optimization, retaining the sub-voxel positions and rendering attributes of the selected primitives. A GS-specific factorized VAE then separately encodes voxel geometry and local Gaussian attributes into sparse 3D latents whose size grows with the number of occupied voxels rather than being limited by a fixed scene-wide primitive count. We train image-conditioned flow models in the GS-Voxel latent space to generate aerial 3DGS scenes. A key application enabled by GS-Voxel is large-area scene generation: overlap-aware tiled inference extends synthesis beyond a single training crop conditioned on satellite-view images. Our results show that GS-Voxel provides structured latents for pre-optimized aerial 3DGS reconstructions, with latent capacity that grows with the number of occupied voxels.

ABot-Earth 0.5: Generative 3D Earth Model

We present ABot-Earth 0.5, a generative 3D framework designed to synthesize vast, seamless 3D environments from ubiquitous, geospatially referenced satellite imagery. To achieve this, we propose a novel generative model formulated directly with the 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) representation. The model is trained on a diverse corpus of existing real-world urban reconstructions, learning to generate realistic geometry and textures. At inference, it synthesizes novel 3D scenes conditioned solely on satellite imagery at a scalable rate of under 10 minutes per square kilometer, while demonstrating exceptional realism. The framework is designed for accessibility, with integrated hierarchical level-of-detail (LOD) structures that permit real-time, interactive visualization on web-based map engines. This high-fidelity simulation sandbox effectively mitigates the sim-to-real domain gap, enabling critical downstream Embodied AI applications like closed-loop UAV navigation. By providing an ultra-low-cost and high-efficiency solution, ABot-Earth 0.5 significantly lowers the technical and financial barriers to large-scale 3D reconstruction and empowers the future of global digital earth visualization.

Neural Shell Texture Splatting: More Details and Fewer Primitives

Gaussian splatting techniques have shown promising results in novel view synthesis, achieving high fidelity and efficiency. However, their high reconstruction quality comes at the cost of requiring a large number of primitives. We identify this issue as stemming from the entanglement of geometry and appearance in Gaussian Splatting. To address this, we introduce a neural shell texture, a global representation that encodes texture information around the surface. We use Gaussian primitives as both a geometric representation and texture field samplers, efficiently splatting texture features into image space. Our evaluation demonstrates that this disentanglement enables high parameter efficiency, fine texture detail reconstruction, and easy textured mesh extraction, all while using significantly fewer primitives.

Sat2Density: Faithful Density Learning from Satellite-Ground Image Pairs

This paper aims to develop an accurate 3D geometry representation of satellite images using satellite-ground image pairs. Our focus is on the challenging problem of 3D-aware ground-views synthesis from a satellite image. We draw inspiration from the density field representation used in volumetric neural rendering and propose a new approach, called Sat2Density. Our method utilizes the properties of ground-view panoramas for the sky and non-sky regions to learn faithful density fields of 3D scenes in a geometric perspective. Unlike other methods that require extra depth information during training, our Sat2Density can automatically learn accurate and faithful 3D geometry via density representation without depth supervision. This advancement significantly improves the ground-view panorama synthesis task. Additionally, our study provides a new geometric perspective to understand the relationship between satellite and ground-view images in 3D space.

Depth and DOF Cues Make A Better Defocus Blur Detector

Defocus blur detection (DBD) separates in-focus and out-of-focus regions in an image. Previous approaches mistakenly mistook homogeneous areas in focus for defocus blur regions, likely due to not considering the internal factors that cause defocus blur. Inspired by the law of depth, depth of field (DOF), and defocus, we propose an approach called D-DFFNet, which incorporates depth and DOF cues in an implicit manner. This allows the model to understand the defocus phenomenon in a more natural way. Our method proposes a depth feature distillation strategy to obtain depth knowledge from a pre-trained monocular depth estimation model and uses a DOF-edge loss to understand the relationship between DOF and depth. Our approach outperforms state-of-the-art methods on public benchmarks and a newly collected large benchmark dataset, EBD.
