Extended-Target Classification and Localization for Near-Field ISAC

Near-field integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) enables object-level sensing from distance-dependent array responses, yet most existing near-field methods still rely on point-target models and realistic extended targets remain largely unexplored. In this paper, joint target classification and range-azimuth localization are studied from channel responses of realistic extended targets. A dual-branch inference framework is proposed. Semantic and geometric branches are used for classification and localization, respectively. Cross-task attention is introduced after task-specific encoding so that complementary cues can be exchanged without forcing full feature sharing from the input stage. To improve localization on the same backbone, uncertainty-aware regression and a physics-guided structured objective are adopted, including planar consistency, peak-response regularization, and geometry-coupling constraints. Training and evaluation data are generated from full-wave electromagnetic scattering simulations of voxelized vehicle targets with randomized heading angles, material contrasts, and placements. The compared variants show that cross-task attention mainly benefits classification, while uncertainty-aware and structured supervision are needed to recover strong localization performance on the same backbone. Under the adopted shared-OFDM benchmark, the proposed framework reaches the best joint operating point with fewer sensing tones for the same target performance region.

A Spatio-Temporal-Frequency Transformer Framework for Near-Field Target Recognition

A target recognition framework relying on near-field integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems is proposed. By exploiting the distance-dependent spatial signatures provided by the near-field spherical wavefront, high-accuracy sensing is realized in a bandwidth-efficient manner. A spatio--temporal--frequency (STF) transformer framework is introduced for target recognition using electromagnetic features found in the wireless channel response. In particular, a lightweight spatial encoder is employed to extract features from the antenna array for each frame and subcarrier. These features are then fused by a time-frequency transformer head with positional embeddings to model temporal dynamics and cross-subcarrier correlations. Simulation results demonstrate that strong target recognition performance can be achieved even with limited bandwidth resources.

Score-Based Conditional Flow Models for MIMO Receiver Design with Superimposed Pilots

Accurate channel state information (CSI) is vital for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. However, superimposed pilots (SIP), which reduce overhead, introduce severe pilot contamination and data interference, complicating joint channel estimation and data detection. This paper proposes a conditional flow matching receiver (CFM-Rx), an unsupervised generative framework that learns directly from received signals, eliminating the need for labeled data and improving adaptability across diverse system settings. By leveraging flow-based generative modeling, CFM-Rx enables deterministic, low-latency inference and exploits model invertibility to capture the bidirectional nature of signal propagation. This framework unifies flow matching with score-based diffusion modeling via a moment-consistent ordinary differential equation (ODE), replacing stochastic differential equation (SDE) sampling with a deterministic and efficient process. Furthermore, it integrates receiver-side priors to ensure stable, data-consistent inference. Extensive simulation results across various MIMO configurations demonstrate that CFM-Rx consistently outperforms conventional estimators and state-of-the-art data-driven receivers, achieving notable gains in channel estimation accuracy and symbol detection robustness, particularly under severe pilot contamination.

LLMs are Biased Evaluators But Not Biased for Retrieval Augmented Generation

Recent studies have demonstrated that large language models (LLMs) exhibit significant biases in evaluation tasks, particularly in preferentially rating and favoring self-generated content. However, the extent to which this bias manifests in fact-oriented tasks, especially within retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) frameworks, where keyword extraction and factual accuracy take precedence over stylistic elements, remains unclear. Our study addresses this knowledge gap by simulating two critical phases of the RAG framework. In the first phase, LLMs evaluated human-authored and model-generated passages, emulating the \textit{pointwise reranking phase}. The second phase involves conducting pairwise reading comprehension tests to simulate the \textit{generation phase}. Contrary to previous findings indicating a self-preference in rating tasks, our results reveal no significant self-preference effect in RAG frameworks. Instead, we observe that factual accuracy significantly influences LLMs' output, even in the absence of prior knowledge. These findings are consistent among three common QA datasets (NQ, MARCO, TriviaQA Datasets) and 5 widely adopted language models (GPT-3.5, GPT-4o-mini, Gemini, LLaMA3, and Mistral). Our research contributes to the ongoing discourse on LLM biases and their implications for RAG-based system, offering insights that may inform the development of more robust and unbiased LLM systems.

Dynamic Residual Encoding with Slide-Level Contrastive Learning for End-to-End Whole Slide Image Representation

Whole Slide Image (WSI) representation is critical for cancer subtyping, cancer recognition and mutation prediction.Training an end-to-end WSI representation model poses significant challenges, as a standard gigapixel slide can contain tens of thousands of image tiles, making it difficult to compute gradients of all tiles in a single mini-batch due to current GPU limitations. To address this challenge, we propose a method of dynamic residual encoding with slide-level contrastive learning (DRE-SLCL) for end-to-end WSI representation. Our approach utilizes a memory bank to store the features of tiles across all WSIs in the dataset. During training, a mini-batch usually contains multiple WSIs. For each WSI in the batch, a subset of tiles is randomly sampled and their features are computed using a tile encoder. Then, additional tile features from the same WSI are selected from the memory bank. The representation of each individual WSI is generated using a residual encoding technique that incorporates both the sampled features and those retrieved from the memory bank. Finally, the slide-level contrastive loss is computed based on the representations and histopathology reports ofthe WSIs within the mini-batch. Experiments conducted over cancer subtyping, cancer recognition, and mutation prediction tasks proved the effectiveness of the proposed DRE-SLCL method.

C-RAN Advanced: From a Network Cooperation Perspective

Future mobile networks in the sixth generation (6G) are poised for a paradigm shift from conventional communication services toward comprehensive information services, driving the evolution of radio access network (RAN) architectures toward enhanced cooperation, intelligence, and service orientation. Building upon the concept of centralized, collaborative, cloud, and clean RAN (C-RAN), this article proposes a novel cooperative, intelligent, and service-based RAN (CIS-RAN) architecture. Focusing on cooperation, CIS-RAN extends the traditional cooperative communication paradigm by further integrating cooperative sensing and cooperative artificial intelligence (AI). To improve both performance and effectiveness across diverse application scenarios, CIS-RAN enhances network cooperation throughout the entire process of acquisition, transmission, and processing, thereby enabling efficient information acquisition, diverse cooperative interactions, and intelligent fusion decision-making. Key technologies are discussed, with network cooperative multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) examined as a case study, demonstrating superior performance over traditional architectures, as demonstrated by numerical results. Future research directions are outlined, emphasizing the continued exploration and advancement of the CIS-RAN architecture, particularly in enhancing network cooperation.

Super-robust telecommunications enabled by topological half-supermodes

Topological photonics offers transformative potential for robust integrated waveguide devices due to their backscattering-immune properties. However, their integration faces two fundamental challenges: mode symmetry mismatch with conventional waveguides and prohibitive dimensions. We successfully overcome these two critical challenges by introducing a novel valley-ridge gap waveguide based on topological half-supermode engineering. By strategically hybridizing ridge waveguide modes and valley kink states, we create an exotic odd-symmetric supermode enabling robust propagation and ultra-compact operation. The further implementation of a perfect electric conductor boundary halves lateral dimensions while eliminating radiation loss. Crucially, our proposed valley-ridge interface achieves direct transverse electric mode matching with standard waveguides without transition structures, enabling seamless integration. Experimental results demonstrate reflection losses lower than -15 dB in realistic telecommunication scenarios with super-robust signal propagation through sharp bends. This work innovatively conceptualizes topological half-supermodes and pioneers their practical applications for integrated waveguide devices, establishing a completely new waveguide class that uniquely combines robust backscattering immunity with deep subwavelength compactness.

Denoising and Augmentation: A Dual Use of Diffusion Model for Enhanced CSI Recovery

This letter introduces a dual application of denoising diffusion probabilistic model (DDPM)-based channel estimation algorithm integrating data denoising and augmentation. Denoising addresses the severe noise in raw signals at pilot locations, which can impair channel estimation accuracy. An unsupervised structure is proposed to clean field data without prior knowledge of pure channel information. Data augmentation is crucial due to the data-intensive nature of training deep learning (DL) networks for channel state information (CSI) estimation. The network generates new channel data by adjusting reverse steps, enriching the training dataset. To manage varying signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) in communication data, a piecewise forward strategy is proposed to enhance the DDPM convergence precision. The link-level simulations indicate that the proposed scheme achieves a superior tradeoff between precision and computational cost compared to existing benchmarks.

Label-Free Long-Horizon 3D UAV Trajectory Prediction via Motion-Aligned RGB and Event Cues

The widespread use of consumer drones has introduced serious challenges for airspace security and public safety. Their high agility and unpredictable motion make drones difficult to track and intercept. While existing methods focus on detecting current positions, many counter-drone strategies rely on forecasting future trajectories and thus require more than reactive detection to be effective. To address this critical gap, we propose an unsupervised vision-based method for predicting the three-dimensional trajectories of drones. Our approach first uses an unsupervised technique to extract drone trajectories from raw LiDAR point clouds, then aligns these trajectories with camera images through motion consistency to generate reliable pseudo-labels. We then combine kinematic estimation with a visual Mamba neural network in a self-supervised manner to predict future drone trajectories. We evaluate our method on the challenging MMAUD dataset, including the V2 sequences that feature wide-field-of-view multimodal sensors and dynamic UAV motion in urban scenes. Extensive experiments show that our framework outperforms supervised image-only and audio-visual baselines in long-horizon trajectory prediction, reducing 5-second 3D error by around 40 percent without using any manual 3D labels. The proposed system offers a cost-effective, scalable alternative for real-time counter-drone deployment. All code will be released upon acceptance to support reproducible research in the robotics community.

Cooperative Sensing and Communication Beamforming Design for Low-Altitude Economy

To empower the low-altitude economy with high-accuracy sensing and high-rate communication, this paper proposes a cooperative integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) framework for aerial-ground networks. In the proposed system, the ground base stations (BSs) cooperatively serve the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which are equipped for either joint communication and sensing or sensing-only operations. The BSs employ coordinated beamforming to simultaneously transmit communication and sensing signals, while the UAVs execute their missions. To maximize the weighted sum rate under the sensing signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) constraints, we jointly optimize the transmit beamforming, receive filtering, and UAV trajectory. The resulting non-convex problem is solved using an alternating optimization framework incorporating semidefinite relaxation (SDR) and successive convex approximation (SCA). Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed joint design achieves higher communication throughput while ensuring required sensing robustness. Additionally, the sensing SINR threshold and the UAV altitude have a significant impact on the trajectory design, highlighting the necessity of adaptive deployment strategies in practical applications.

Performance Analysis of Cooperative Integrated Sensing and Communications for 6G Networks

In this work, we aim to effectively characterize the performance of cooperative integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) networks and to reveal how performance metrics relate to network parameters. To this end, we introduce a generalized stochastic geometry framework to model the cooperative ISAC networks, which approximates the spatial randomness of the network deployment. Based on this framework, we derive analytical expressions for key performance metrics in both communication and sensing domains, with a particular focus on communication coverage probability and radar information rate. The analytical expressions derived explicitly highlight how performance metrics depend on network parameters, thereby offering valuable insights into the deployment and design of cooperative ISAC networks. In the end, we validate the theoretical performance analysis through Monte Carlo simulation results. Our results demonstrate that increasing the number of cooperative base stations (BSs) significantly improves both metrics, while increasing the BS deployment density has a limited impact on communication coverage probability but substantially enhances the radar information rate. Additionally, increasing the number of transmit antennas is effective when the total number of transmit antennas is relatively small. The incremental performance gain reduces with the increase of the number of transmit antennas, suggesting that indiscriminately increasing antennas is not an efficient strategy to improve the performance of the system in cooperative ISAC networks.

Proofs of two conjectures on congruences of overcubic partition triples

Let $\overline{bt}(n)$ denote the number of overcubic partition triples of $n$. Nayaka, Dharmendra and Kumar proved some congruences modulo 8, 16 and 32 for $\overline{bt}(n)$. Recently, Saikia and Sarma established some congruences modulo 64 for $\overline{bt}(n)$ by using both elementary techniques and the theory of modular forms. In their paper, they also posed two conjectures on infinite families of congruences modulo 64 and 128 for $\overline{bt}(n)$. In this paper, we confirm the two conjectures.

InstructPipe: Generating Visual Blocks Pipelines with Human Instructions and LLMs

Visual programming has the potential of providing novice programmers with a low-code experience to build customized processing pipelines. Existing systems typically require users to build pipelines from scratch, implying that novice users are expected to set up and link appropriate nodes from a blank workspace. In this paper, we introduce InstructPipe, an AI assistant for prototyping machine learning (ML) pipelines with text instructions. We contribute two large language model (LLM) modules and a code interpreter as part of our framework. The LLM modules generate pseudocode for a target pipeline, and the interpreter renders the pipeline in the node-graph editor for further human-AI collaboration. Both technical and user evaluation (N=16) shows that InstructPipe empowers users to streamline their ML pipeline workflow, reduce their learning curve, and leverage open-ended commands to spark innovative ideas.

An Innovative Brain-Computer Interface Interaction System Based on the Large Language Model

Recent advancements in large language models (LLMs) provide a more effective pathway for upgrading brain-computer interface (BCI) technology in terms of user interaction. The widespread adoption of BCIs in daily application scenarios is still limited by factors such as their single functionality, restricted paradigm design, weak multilingual support, and low levels of intelligence. In this paper, we propose an innovative BCI system that deeply integrates a steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) speller with an LLM application programming interface (API). It allows natural language input through the SSVEP speller and dynamically calls large models to generate SSVEP paradigms. The command prompt, blinking frequency, and layout position are adjustable to meet the user's control requirements in various scenarios. More than ten languages are compatible with the multilingual support of LLM. A variety of task scenarios, such as home appliance control, robotic arm operation, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) management are provided. The task interfaces of the system can be personalized according to the user's habits, usage scenarios, and equipment characteristics. By combining the SSVEP speller with an LLM, the system solves numerous challenges faced by current BCI systems and makes breakthroughs in functionality, intelligence, and multilingual support. The introduction of LLM not only enhances user experience but also expands the potential applications of BCI technology in real-world environments.
