Spin Elasticity:A New Paradigm for Spintronics

Elasticity shapes our world. For centuries, it has been regarded as a property exclusive to ordinary matter. Here we uncover its hidden existence in the spin degree of freedom. We introduce spin elasticity-a framework linking spin torque to spin morpgology. This reveals a topological Hooke's law, uncovers spontaneous oscillations and resonance, and predicts a new class of collective excitations:spin stress waves. By establishing a unfied tau-D theory bridging classical elasticity and topological spin physics, this work completes the elastic picture and opens a new frontier for spintronics-spinelastronics.

Nearly Complete Charge--Spin Conversion via Strain-Eliminated Fermi Pockets in $d$-Wave Altermagnets

Ideal $d$-wave altermagnets with nearly orthogonal flat Fermi surfaces enable complete spin-channel separation and 100% theoretical charge--spin conversion efficiency (CSE). The metallic altermagnet $\mathrm{KV_2Se_2O}$ exemplifies this, but realistic samples host residual elliptical Fermi pockets that enhance charge conductivity while suppressing spin conductivity, drastically reducing CSE. Here we show that in-plane equibiaxial tensile strain systematically eliminates these parasitic pockets, restoring the flat-band geometry. Our first-principles calculations reveal that CSE increases monotonically with strain, reaching a record $\sim$96% at 4% strain. An effective tight-binding model confirms that pocket suppression, governed by reduced next-nearest-neighbor hoppings, is the dominant mechanism. We further identify an unconventional out-of-plane spin current component with CSE $\sim$55% at optimal orientations, enabling field-free perpendicular magnetization switching. Moreover, the same strain-driven removal of parasitic pockets yields giant TMR enhancement in $\mathrm{KV_2Se_2O}$-based magnetic tunnel junctions, from $10^{5}%$ to $10^{9}%$, and the giant TMR persists over a wide energy window near the Fermi level. These findings establish strain engineering as a clean, widely applicable strategy to maximize CSE and magnetoresistance in $d$-wave altermagnets, and provide predictive descriptors for screening high-efficiency spintronic materials.

Spin Elasticity

Elasticity has long been regarded as a property exclusive to material media. Here we uncover its hidden existence in the spin degree of freedom. We introduce spin elasticity-an intrinsic mechanism that governs recoverable deformation of spin morphology. This discovery reveals a previously unrecognized universality: elasticity operates in both matter and spin spaces, underpinning structural integrity across physical realms. By establishing the missing spin counterpart, this work completes the elastic picture and points toward a broader paradigm where elasticity transcends its conventional boundaries.

Interplay between spin wave and magnetic vortex

In this paper, the interplay between spin wave and magnetic vortex is studied. We find three types of magnon scatterings: skew scattering, symmetric side deflection and back reflection, which associate with respectively magnetic topology, energy density distribution and linear momentum transfer torque within vortex. The vortex core exhibits two translational modes: the intrinsic circular mode and a coercive elliptical mode, which can be excited based on permanent and periodic magnon spin-transfer torque effects of spin wave. Lastly, we propose a vortex-based spin wave valve in which via inhomogeneity modulation we access arbitrary control of the phase shift.
