Tianmu-TC: Physics-constraints Generative Artificial Intelligence for Global Tropical Cyclone Forecasting

Tropical cyclones (TCs) pose severe risks from strong winds and heavy rainfall. However, forecasting their track and intensity remains challenging due to chaotic atmosphere and the rapid amplification of initial condition errors, leading to growing forecast uncertainty. While numerical weather prediction (NWP) and deep learning models have made progress, they remain computationally demanding and often fail under complex meteorological scenarios. Here, we present Tianmu-TC, a physics-constraints generative framework for global TC forecasting. Trained on Western North Pacific data, Tianmu-TC leverages physics-constraints to generate controllable outputs with reduced uncertainty thus improving forecast reliability. Experiments show Tianmu-TC outperforms deterministic and ensemble meteorological artificial intelligence models and authoritative NWP systems such as ECMWF in global ocean basins, with significantly lower computational cost. We further show Tianmu-TC performs well in challenging scenarios such as data sparsity, anomaly tracks, rapid intensification and weakening. These findings suggest physics-constraints generative AI offers a promising approach for reliable, efficient global TC forecasting.

Computing Smooth Geodesics under Two-Sided Curvature Bounds with Applications to Robotics and Image Analysis

Curvature of planar curves serves as a key regularization term for computing second-order minimal paths, due to its tight relevance to desirable geometric properties such as smoothness, rigidity, and elasticity. In this paper, we tackle a more challenging problem in computational physics and geometry problem: tracking minimal paths whose curvature is constrained by arbitrary upper and lower bounds. For that purpose, we propose a new curvature-bounded geodesic model, developed under the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) partial differential equation (PDE) framework. It provides strong geometric control over minimal paths by enforcing curvature range constraints, whose paths are smooth and of bounded curvature limitation. We also present a discretization scheme for the Hamiltonian and the HJB PDE incorporating curvature bounds, allowing efficient solver for estimating numerical solutions to the model. Finally, we illustrate the capability of the proposed curvature-bounded geodesic model in applications of robot path planning and curvilinear structures tracking from images. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the proposed curvature-bounded geodesic model serves as a powerful and robust tool for finding satisfactory paths.

Unification of Closed-Open Industrial Detection Scenarios: New Large-Scale Benchmarks,Challenges and Baselines

Large-scale Visual-Language Models (LVLMs) have achieved remarkable success in natural visual tasks, yet their application to industrial defect detection remains challenging due to two fundamental limitations: (i) the scarcity of large-scale industrial datasets that cover diverse defect categories across multiple domains, and (ii) the reliance on manual prompts (points, boxes, masks) that introduce subjective noise and lack text-visual interaction for fine-grained understanding. To address these challenges, we introduce a Large-Scale Multi-Modal Industrial Open-Closed benchmark (MMIOC-1M) containing over one million samples across $14$ super-categories, $29$ industrial scenes, and $351$ defect subcategories. To our knowledge, MMIOC-1M is the first unified largest benchmark supporting both open-vocabulary and closed-set industrial detection, providing valuable pre-training data for LVLMs in industrial scenarios. Furthermore, we propose a Refined Text-Visual Prompt Network (RTVPNet) that incorporates three key innovations: (1) an expert-assisted domain projection mechanism that enables rapid adaptation of general vision models to industrial domains, (2) an energy-based sparse sampling strategy that automatically generates refined visual prompts without manual intervention, and (3) a bidirectional text-visual interaction module that enhances cross-modal semantic alignment and understanding. Extensive experiments demonstrate that RTVPNet achieves state-of-the-art performance on MMIOC-1M, LVIS, and COCO benchmarks while maintaining computational efficiency. The dataset and code are available at https://github.com/hellozzk/MMIO.

Zero-Shot Learning in Industrial Scenarios: New Large-Scale Benchmark, Challenges and Baseline

Large Visual Language Models (LVLMs) have achieved remarkable success in vision tasks. However, the significant differences between industrial and natural scenes make applying LVLMs challenging. Existing LVLMs rely on user-provided prompts to segment objects. This often leads to suboptimal performance due to the inclusion of irrelevant pixels. In addition, the scarcity of data also makes the application of LVLMs in industrial scenarios remain unexplored. To fill this gap, this paper proposes an open industrial dataset and a Refined Text-Visual Prompt (RTVP) for zero-shot industrial defect detection. First, this paper constructs the Multi-Modal Industrial Open Dataset (MMIO) containing 80K+ samples. MMIO contains diverse industrial categories, including 6 super categories and 18 subcategories. MMIO is the first large-scale multi-scenes pre-training dataset for industrial zero-shot learning, and provides valuable training data for open models in future industrial scenarios. Based on MMIO, this paper provides a RTVP specifically for industrial zero-shot tasks. RTVP has two significant advantages: First, this paper designs an expert-guided large model domain adaptation mechanism and designs an industrial zero-shot method based on Mobile-SAM, which enhances the generalization ability of large models in industrial scenarios. Second, RTVP automatically generates visual prompts directly from images and considers text-visual prompt interactions ignored by previous LVLM, improving visual and textual content understanding. RTVP achieves SOTA with 42.2% and 24.7% AP in zero-shot and closed scenes of MMIO.

FMRFusion: Frequency-Aware Multi-View Representation Learning for Heterogeneous Image Fusion

Infrared and visible image fusion aims to generate a composite image that retains significant target information and preserves detailed textures, integrating two heterogeneous modalities. Previous image fusion methods typically adopt a single-module stacking approach to extract features from the two modalities. However, these approaches may result in incomplete learning of their distinct characteristics, thereby limiting the fusion effectiveness and constrain ing robustness in real-world heterogeneous data scenarios. To address these challenges, we propose FMRFusion, a frequency-aware multi-view representation learning network for Heterogeneous Image Fusion. A Multi-Scale Struc tural Perception Module is introduced to effectively capture discriminative structures, extracting fine-grained local structures and essential contextual information. A bilinear frequency decomposition mechanism is employed to sepa rate features into high-frequency and low-frequency components, enabling joint modeling of local details and global representations across different frequency domains. Moreover, a Cross-View Complementary Interaction is incorpo rated to explicitly model and fuse the complementary characteristics between reflected light information and radiative intensity responses, facilitating effective cross-view interaction. We further improve the Performance of the fused results by flow matching, which progressively refines the fused features by learning the transformation from coarse data to high-quality representations. Extensive experiments conducted on multiple benchmark datasets demonstrate that FMRFusion achieves superior and consistent performance across a range of fusion tasks, especially in nighttime scenarios

KFTD: Koopman-Fourier Time-Differentiable Network for Continuous Ocean Spatiotemporal Forecasting

Accurate oceanic forecasting is critical for climate monitoring and disaster early warning. However, ocean spatiotemporal forecasting encounters the double challenges of modeling complex dynamical systems and ensuring computational efficiency. We present Koopman Fourier Time-Differentiable (KFTD) Network, a time continuous twostage paradigm that decouples interpolation from prediction to achieve efficient and scalable spatiotemporal modeling. We map complex nonlinear dynamics into the Koopman linear space and exploit Fourier analysis to enable continuous time interpolation at arbitrary sub-steps. A lightweight residual network consumes the high fidelity intermediate states to yield the final forecast. Unlike diffusion models, KFTD eliminates multi step noise sampling and directly evolves the system in continuous time, yielding a 4 computational speedup. We further introduce a DPP Loss that supports arbitrary PDE constraints in an endtoend manner, breaking the physical consistency bottleneck of pure data-driven approaches. Empirical results on four ocean datasets confirm that our continuous time framework reduces MSE by an average of 5.6% (up to 12.7% for SST) and improves efficiency over MCVD by 76.25%.

Geodesics with Unified Tangent-constrained Priors and Curvature Regularization

Curvature-penalized geodesic models have proven their effectiveness in image segmentation by computing globally optimal curves. Unfortunately, these models remain susceptible to shortcuts when delineating objects with complex shapes and image intensity distributions, as they lack mechanisms to enforce shape-aware tangent constraints. To address this limitation, we propose a unified geodesic framework that integrates tangent-constrained priors with curvature penalization. The key idea is to formulate tangent admissibility directly within the orientation-lifted space, where path tangents are restricted to spatially varying angular sectors derived from intrinsic shape representatives (ISR) such as skeletons or interior landmarks. This formulation gives rise to a family of tangent-constrained Finslerian metrics, extending the classical curvature-penalized geodesic models while enforcing mandatory tangent constraints. The resulting Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) partial differential equations (PDEs) admit efficient numerical solutions via variants of the fast marching method, preserving the single-pass computational complexity. Experiments on synthetic, natural, and medical images demonstrate that the proposed geodesic framework indeed improves robustness against weak boundaries and topological shortcuts, yielding segmentation results with enhanced shape fidelity compared to existing geodesic models.

When Model Editing Meets Service Evolution: A Knowledge-Update Perspective for Service Recommendation

The rapid evolution of software services poses substantial challenges to the design and implementation of effective recommendation systems. Traditional service recommendation approaches often rely on static representations and historical usage data, which are insufficient for adapting to the dynamic and evolving nature of service ecosystems. Recently, large language models (LLMs) have shown strong potential to overcome these limitations by leveraging rich contextual understanding. However, their practical use faces two major challenges: outdated service facts and invalid or redundant services. To address these issues, we propose EVOREC, an evolution-aware framework for service recommendation that leverages model editing in a locate-then-edit paradigm to incorporate updated service facts without costly retraining efficiently. This allows the model to remain aligned with evolving service ecosystems. To address invalid service issues, we introduce a Finite Automata (FA)-based constrained decoding mechanism with deduplication, which enforces structural and semantic validity while eliminating repeated services. Experiments on real-world service datasets demonstrate that our framework consistently outperforms existing baselines, e.g., achieving an average relative improvement of 25.9% in Recall@5. Moreover, under evolving service scenarios, our approach outperforms model fine-tuning approaches by 22.3%, demonstrating strong adaptability to service evolution and providing a practical solution for service recommendation in dynamic ecosystems

CWRNN-INVR: A Coupled WarpRNN based Implicit Neural Video Representation

Implicit Neural Video Representation (INVR) has emerged as a novel approach for video representation and compression, using learnable grids and neural networks. Existing methods focus on developing new grid structures efficient for latent representation and neural network architectures with large representation capability, lacking the study on their roles in video representation. In this paper, the difference between INVR based on neural network and INVR based on grid is first investigated from the perspective of video information composition to specify their own advantages, i.e., neural network for general structure while grid for specific detail. Accordingly, an INVR based on mixed neural network and residual grid framework is proposed, where the neural network is used to represent the regular and structured information and the residual grid is used to represent the remaining irregular information in a video. A Coupled WarpRNN-based multi-scale motion representation and compensation module is specifically designed to explicitly represent the regular and structured information, thus terming our method as CWRNN-INVR. For the irregular information, a mixed residual grid is learned where the irregular appearance and motion information are represented together. The mixed residual grid can be combined with the coupled WarpRNN in a way that allows for network reuse. Experiments show that our method achieves the best reconstruction results compared with the existing methods, with an average PSNR of 33.73 dB on the UVG dataset under the 3M model and outperforms existing INVR methods in other downstream tasks. Distilled Large Language Model-Driven Dynamic Sparse Expert Activation Mechanism

High inter-class similarity, extreme scale variation, and limited computational budgets hinder reliable visual recognition across diverse real-world data. Existing vision-centric and cross-modal approaches often rely on rigid fusion mechanisms and heavy annotation pipelines, leading to sub-optimal generalization. We propose the Distilled Large Language Model (LLM)-Driven Sparse Mixture-of-Experts (DS-MoE) framework, which integrates text-guided dynamic routing and lightweight multi-scale comprehension. The DS-MoE framework dynamically aligns textual semantics with defect-specific visual patterns through a sparse MoE architecture, where task-relevant experts are adaptively activated based on semantic relevance, resolving inter-class ambiguity. A lightweight MobileSAM encoder enables real-time inference while preserving multi-scale defect details. Extensive experiments on PCB, aluminum foil, and mold defect datasets demonstrate that our framework achieves superior performance compared to existing pure vision models. \textbf{DS-MoE} surpasses YOLOv8/YOLOX with gains of +13.9, +1.4, and +2.0 pp mAP@ 0.5:0.95 on BBMP, aluminum, and PCB, respectively, while also improving precision and recall.

KAN-FIF: Spline-Parameterized Lightweight Physics-based Tropical Cyclone Estimation on Meteorological Satellite

Tropical cyclones (TC) are among the most destructive natural disasters, causing catastrophic damage to coastal regions through extreme winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surges. Timely monitoring of tropical cyclones is crucial for reducing loss of life and property, yet it is hindered by the computational inefficiency and high parameter counts of existing methods on resource-constrained edge devices. Current physics-guided models suffer from linear feature interactions that fail to capture high-order polynomial relationships between TC attributes, leading to inflated model sizes and hardware incompatibility. To overcome these challenges, this study introduces the Kolmogorov-Arnold Network-based Feature Interaction Framework (KAN-FIF), a lightweight multimodal architecture that integrates MLP and CNN layers with spline-parameterized KAN layers. For Maximum Sustained Wind (MSW) prediction, experiments demonstrate that the KAN-FIF framework achieves a $94.8\%$ reduction in parameters (0.99MB vs 19MB) and $68.7\%$ faster inference per sample (2.3ms vs 7.35ms) compared to baseline model Phy-CoCo, while maintaining superior accuracy with $32.5\%$ lower MAE. The offline deployment experiment of the FY-4 series meteorological satellite processor on the Qingyun-1000 development board achieved a 14.41ms per-sample inference latency with the KAN-FIF framework, demonstrating promising feasibility for operational TC monitoring and extending deployability to edge-device AI applications. The code is released at https://github.com/Jinglin-Zhang/KAN-FIF.

IDOL: Meeting Diverse Distribution Shifts with Prior Physics for Tropical Cyclone Multi-Task Estimation

Tropical Cyclone (TC) estimation aims to accurately estimate various TC attributes in real time. However, distribution shifts arising from the complex and dynamic nature of TC environmental fields, such as varying geographical conditions and seasonal changes, present significant challenges to reliable estimation. Most existing methods rely on multi-modal fusion for feature extraction but overlook the intrinsic distribution of feature representations, leading to poor generalization under out-of-distribution (OOD) scenarios. To address this, we propose an effective Identity Distribution-Oriented Physical Invariant Learning framework (IDOL), which imposes identity-oriented constraints to regulate the feature space under the guidance of prior physical knowledge, thereby dealing distribution variability with physical invariance. Specifically, the proposed IDOL employs the wind field model and dark correlation knowledge of TC to model task-shared and task-specific identity tokens. These tokens capture task dependencies and intrinsic physical invariances of TC, enabling robust estimation of TC wind speed, pressure, inner-core, and outer-core size under distribution shifts. Extensive experiments conducted on multiple datasets and tasks demonstrate the outperformance of the proposed IDOL, verifying that imposing identity-oriented constraints based on prior physical knowledge can effectively mitigates diverse distribution shifts in TC estimation.Code is available at https://github.com/Zjut-MultimediaPlus/IDOL.

ADSeeker: A Knowledge-Grounded Reasoning Framework for Industry Anomaly Detection and Reasoning

Automatic vision inspection holds significant importance in industry inspection. While multimodal large language models (MLLMs) exhibit strong language understanding capabilities and hold promise for this task, their performance remains significantly inferior to that of human experts. In this context, we identify two key challenges: (i) insufficient integration of anomaly detection (AD) knowledge during pre-training, and (ii) the lack of technically precise and context-aware language generation for anomaly reasoning. To address these issues, we propose ADSeeker, an anomaly task assistant designed to enhance inspection performance through knowledge-grounded reasoning. ADSeeker first leverages a curated visual document knowledge base, SEEK-M&V, which we construct to address the limitations of existing resources that rely solely on unstructured text. SEEK-M\&V includes semantic-rich descriptions and image-document pairs, enabling more comprehensive anomaly understanding. To effectively retrieve and utilize this knowledge, we introduce the Query Image-Knowledge Retrieval-Augmented Generation Q2K RAG framework. To further enhance the performance in zero-shot anomaly detection (ZSAD), ADSeeker leverages the Hierarchical Sparse Prompt mechanism and type-level features to efficiently extract anomaly patterns. Furthermore, to tackle the challenge of limited industry anomaly detection (IAD) data, we introduce the largest-scale AD dataset, Multi-type Anomaly MulA, encompassing 72 multi-scale defect types across 26 categories. Extensive experiments show that our plug-and-play framework, ADSeeker, achieves state-of-the-art zero-shot performance on several benchmark datasets.

Dynamic Exploration on Segment-Proposal Graphs for Tubular Centerline Tracking

Optimal curve methods provide a fundamental framework for tubular centerline tracking. Point-wise approaches, such as minimal paths, are theoretically elegant but often suffer from shortcut and short-branch combination problems in complex scenarios. Nonlocal segment-wise methods address these issues by mapping pre-extracted centerline fragments onto a segment-proposal graph, performing optimization in this abstract space, and recovering the target tubular centerline from the resulting optimal path. In this paradigm, graph construction is critical, as it directly determines the quality of the final result. However, existing segment-wise methods construct graphs in a static manner, requiring all edges and their weights to be pre-computed, i.e. the graph must be sufficiently complete prior to search. Otherwise, the true path may be absent from the candidate space, leading to search failure. To address this limitation, we propose a dynamic exploration scheme for constructing segment-proposal graphs, where the graph is built on demand during the search for optimal paths. By formulating the problem as a Markov decision process, we apply Q-learning to compute edge weights only for visited transitions and adaptively expand the action space when connectivity is insufficient. Experimental results on retinal vessels, roads, and rivers demonstrate consistent improvements over state-of-the-art methods in both accuracy and efficiency.

MetricGrids: Arbitrary Nonlinear Approximation with Elementary Metric Grids based Implicit Neural Representation

This paper presents MetricGrids, a novel grid-based neural representation that combines elementary metric grids in various metric spaces to approximate complex nonlinear signals. While grid-based representations are widely adopted for their efficiency and scalability, the existing feature grids with linear indexing for continuous-space points can only provide degenerate linear latent space representations, and such representations cannot be adequately compensated to represent complex nonlinear signals by the following compact decoder. To address this problem while keeping the simplicity of a regular grid structure, our approach builds upon the standard grid-based paradigm by constructing multiple elementary metric grids as high-order terms to approximate complex nonlinearities, following the Taylor expansion principle. Furthermore, we enhance model compactness with hash encoding based on different sparsities of the grids to prevent detrimental hash collisions, and a high-order extrapolation decoder to reduce explicit grid storage requirements. experimental results on both 2D and 3D reconstructions demonstrate the superior fitting and rendering accuracy of the proposed method across diverse signal types, validating its robustness and generalizability. Codebook-Based Beam Tracking for Conformal ArrayEnabled UAV MmWave Networks

Millimeter wave (mmWave) communications can potentially meet the high data-rate requirements of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks. However, as the prerequisite of mmWave communications, the narrow directional beam tracking is very challenging because of the three-dimensional (3D) mobility and attitude variation of UAVs. Aiming to address the beam tracking difficulties, we propose to integrate the conformal array (CA) with the surface of each UAV, which enables the full spatial coverage and the agile beam tracking in highly dynamic UAV mmWave networks. More specifically, the key contributions of our work are three-fold. 1) A new mmWave beam tracking framework is established for the CA-enabled UAV mmWave network. 2) A specialized hierarchical codebook is constructed to drive the directional radiating element (DRE)-covered cylindrical conformal array (CCA), which contains both the angular beam pattern and the subarray pattern to fully utilize the potential of the CA. 3) A codebook-based multiuser beam tracking scheme is proposed, where the Gaussian process machine learning enabled UAV position/attitude predication is developed to improve the beam tracking efficiency in conjunction with the tracking-error aware adaptive beamwidth control. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed codebook-based beam tracking scheme in the CA-enabled UAV mmWave network, and demonstrate the advantages of CA over the conventional planner array in terms of spectrum efficiency and outage probability in the highly dynamic scenarios.

ViTGaze: Gaze Following with Interaction Features in Vision Transformers

Gaze following aims to interpret human-scene interactions by predicting the person's focal point of gaze. Prevailing approaches often adopt a two-stage framework, whereby multi-modality information is extracted in the initial stage for gaze target prediction. Consequently, the efficacy of these methods highly depends on the precision of the preceding modality extraction. Others use a single-modality approach with complex decoders, increasing network computational load. Inspired by the remarkable success of pre-trained plain vision transformers (ViTs), we introduce a novel single-modality gaze following framework called ViTGaze. In contrast to previous methods, it creates a novel gaze following framework based mainly on powerful encoders (relative decoder parameters less than 1%). Our principal insight is that the inter-token interactions within self-attention can be transferred to interactions between humans and scenes. Leveraging this presumption, we formulate a framework consisting of a 4D interaction encoder and a 2D spatial guidance module to extract human-scene interaction information from self-attention maps. Furthermore, our investigation reveals that ViT with self-supervised pre-training has an enhanced ability to extract correlation information. Many experiments have been conducted to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method. Our method achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance among all single-modality methods (3.4% improvement in the area under curve (AUC) score, 5.1% improvement in the average precision (AP)) and very comparable performance against multi-modality methods with 59% number of parameters less.

ResDiff: Combining CNN and Diffusion Model for Image Super-Resolution

Adapting the Diffusion Probabilistic Model (DPM) for direct image super-resolution is wasteful, given that a simple Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) can recover the main low-frequency content. Therefore, we present ResDiff, a novel Diffusion Probabilistic Model based on Residual structure for Single Image Super-Resolution (SISR). ResDiff utilizes a combination of a CNN, which restores primary low-frequency components, and a DPM, which predicts the residual between the ground-truth image and the CNN predicted image. In contrast to the common diffusion-based methods that directly use LR images to guide the noise towards HR space, ResDiff utilizes the CNN's initial prediction to direct the noise towards the residual space between HR space and CNN-predicted space, which not only accelerates the generation process but also acquires superior sample quality. Additionally, a frequency-domain-based loss function for CNN is introduced to facilitate its restoration, and a frequency-domain guided diffusion is designed for DPM on behalf of predicting high-frequency details. The extensive experiments on multiple benchmark datasets demonstrate that ResDiff outperforms previous diffusion based methods in terms of shorter model convergence time, superior generation quality, and more diverse samples.
