VoT: Vision-of-Thought for Unified Multimodal Representation Alignment

Current text-to-image systems typically employ a "text encoder plus diffusion decoder" paradigm, in which text semantics directly modulate continuous latent noise. Despite their success, these methods lack an explicit, interpretable intermediate representation that effectively bridges high-level linguistic semantics and low-level visual signals. In this paper, we propose Vision-of-Thought (VoT), a framework that introduces a discrete visual-thinking layer between vision-language models (VLMs) and diffusion transformers (DiTs). Instead of treating VLMs merely as text encoders, we use them as multimodal planners that generate discrete VoT tokens representing high-level visual plans, such as objects and layouts, before rendering pixels. We train a specialized VoT tokenizer in the VLM semantic space with a closed-loop objective that combines VLM alignment, feature reconstruction, and vector-quantization losses. These objectives make the tokens semantically readable by the VLM while preserving the visual information needed for generation. Experimental results demonstrate that VoT improves semantic alignment and provides a structured interface for interpretable and controllable generation.

ARM: An AutoRegressive Large Multimodal Model with Unified Discrete Representations

This paper introduces ARM, a discrete representation-based AutoRegressive Model that unifies image understanding, generation, and editing within a next-token prediction framework. ARM is built on three efforts: first, we train a discrete semantic visual tokenizer that maps images into compact token sequences. Our tokenizer is supervised with multiple objectives that jointly promote semantic discriminability, language alignment and faithful reconstruction, thereby supporting diverse tasks in a shared latent space. With this, we train a 7B autoregressive model over large-scale text and image token sequences, seamlessly developing vision-language perception and generation capabilities. Finally, to further improve preference-aligned behavior for text-to-image generation and instruction-guided editing, ARM applies reinforcement learning (RL) to optimize task-level objectives such as visual quality, instruction adherence, and edit consistency. Surprisingly, the results show that RL not only substantially improves performance on the target tasks (e.g., raising WISE overall from 0.50 to 0.56, GEdit-Bench-EN G_O from 5.75 to 6.68), but also induces cross-task synergy between text-to-image generation and editing. Collectively, these findings highlight autoregressive modeling, when paired with strong representations and preference optimization, as a scalable foundation for multimodal intelligence. Akita: A High Usability Simulation Framework for Computer Architecture

Computer architecture simulation is essential for evaluating new designs without the need for costly tapeout. The community has developed dozens of valuable simulators that have enabled significant architectural advances. However, using and developing simulators remains a major barrier due to ad-hoc component interfaces, strict deployment requirements, the burden of managing performance optimizations like parallelization at the component level, and limited monitoring and visualization capabilities. The root cause of these limitations is the systematic neglect of user and developer experience in favor of technical functionality. We believe that only by separating technical concerns from user and developer experience concerns -- through a dedicated simulation engine decoupled from hardware models -- can the community overcome these fundamental obstacles and enable more productive architectural research. Akita embodies this philosophy as a dedicated simulation engine that cleanly separates infrastructure from architectural models. Smart Ticking and Availability Backpropagation let developers write simple cycle-based code while achieving event-driven performance. Parallel simulation happens transparently -- developers write single-threaded code while Akita handles multi-core execution. Akita's simple, uniform, yet powerful simulation tracing support enables real-time monitoring and post-simulation visualization. We demonstrate the flexibility of Akita through case studies, including the development of a trace-based DNN simulation and a RISC-V CPU simulation, showing how prioritizing developer experience accelerates architectural research.

MMCORE: MultiModal COnnection with Representation Aligned Latent Embeddings

We present MMCORE, a unified framework designed for multimodal image generation and editing. MMCORE leverages a pre-trained Vision-Language Model (VLM) to predict semantic visual embeddings via learnable query tokens, which subsequently serve as conditioning signals for a diffusion model. This streamlined design effectively transfers the rich understanding and reasoning capabilities of VLMs into the visual generation process. By obviating the need for deep fusion between autoregressive and diffusion models or training from scratch, MMCORE significantly reduces computational overhead while maintaining high-fidelity synthesis. MMCORE seamlessly integrates text-to-image synthesis with interleaved image generation, demonstrating robust multimodal comprehension in complex scenarios such as spatial reasoning and visual grounding. Comprehensive evaluations indicate that MMCORE consistently outperforms state-of-the-art baselines across a broad spectrum of text-to-image and single/multi-image editing benchmarks.

GeoDiff4D: Geometry-Aware Diffusion for 4D Head Avatar Reconstruction

Reconstructing photorealistic and animatable 4D head avatars from a single portrait image remains a fundamental challenge in computer vision. While diffusion models have enabled remarkable progress in image and video generation for avatar reconstruction, existing methods primarily rely on 2D priors and struggle to achieve consistent 3D geometry. We propose a novel framework that leverages geometry-aware diffusion to learn strong geometry priors for high-fidelity head avatar reconstruction. Our approach jointly synthesizes portrait images and corresponding surface normals, while a pose-free expression encoder captures implicit expression representations. Both synthesized images and expression latents are incorporated into 3D Gaussian-based avatars, enabling photorealistic rendering with accurate geometry. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method substantially outperforms state-of-the-art approaches in visual quality, expression fidelity, and cross-identity generalization, while supporting real-time rendering.

VTok: A Unified Video Tokenizer with Decoupled Spatial-Temporal Latents

This work presents VTok, a unified video tokenization framework that can be used for both generation and understanding tasks. Unlike the leading vision-language systems that tokenize videos through a naive frame-sampling strategy, we propose to decouple the spatial and temporal representations of videos by retaining the spatial features of a single key frame while encoding each subsequent frame into a single residual token, achieving compact yet expressive video tokenization. Our experiments suggest that VTok effectively reduces the complexity of video representation from the product of frame count and per-frame token count to their sum, while the residual tokens sufficiently capture viewpoint and motion changes relative to the key frame. Extensive evaluations demonstrate the efficacy and efficiency of VTok: it achieves notably higher performance on a range of video understanding and text-to-video generation benchmarks compared with baselines using naive tokenization, all with shorter token sequences per video (e.g., 3.4% higher accuracy on our TV-Align benchmark and 1.9% higher VBench score). Remarkably, VTok produces more coherent motion and stronger guidance following in text-to-video generation, owing to its more consistent temporal encoding. We hope VTok can serve as a standardized video tokenization paradigm for future research in video understanding and generation.

FlexAvatar: Flexible Large Reconstruction Model for Animatable Gaussian Head Avatars with Detailed Deformation

We present FlexAvatar, a flexible large reconstruction model for high-fidelity 3D head avatars with detailed dynamic deformation from single or sparse images, without requiring camera poses or expression labels. It leverages a transformer-based reconstruction model with structured head query tokens as canonical anchor to aggregate flexible input-number-agnostic, camera-pose-free and expression-free inputs into a robust canonical 3D representation. For detailed dynamic deformation, we introduce a lightweight UNet decoder conditioned on UV-space position maps, which can produce detailed expression-dependent deformations in real time. To better capture rare but critical expressions like wrinkles and bared teeth, we also adopt a data distribution adjustment strategy during training to balance the distribution of these expressions in the training set. Moreover, a lightweight 10-second refinement can further enhances identity-specific details in extreme identities without affecting deformation quality. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our FlexAvatar achieves superior 3D consistency, detailed dynamic realism compared with previous methods, providing a practical solution for animatable 3D avatar creation.

GeoSAM2: Unleashing the Power of SAM2 for 3D Part Segmentation

We introduce GeoSAM2, a prompt-controllable framework for 3D part segmentation that casts the task as multi-view 2D mask prediction. Given a textureless object, we render normal and point maps from predefined viewpoints and accept simple 2D prompts - clicks or boxes - to guide part selection. These prompts are processed by a shared SAM2 backbone augmented with LoRA and residual geometry fusion, enabling view-specific reasoning while preserving pretrained priors. The predicted masks are back-projected to the object and aggregated across views. Our method enables fine-grained, part-specific control without requiring text prompts, per-shape optimization, or full 3D labels. In contrast to global clustering or scale-based methods, prompts are explicit, spatially grounded, and interpretable. We achieve state-of-the-art class-agnostic performance on PartObjaverse-Tiny and PartNetE, outperforming both slow optimization-based pipelines and fast but coarse feedforward approaches. Our results highlight a new paradigm: aligning the paradigm of 3D segmentation with SAM2, leveraging interactive 2D inputs to unlock controllability and precision in object-level part understanding.

MoReMouse: Monocular Reconstruction of Laboratory Mouse

Laboratory mice, particularly the C57BL/6 strain, are essential animal models in biomedical research. However, accurate 3D surface motion reconstruction of mice remains a significant challenge due to their complex non-rigid deformations, textureless fur-covered surfaces, and the lack of realistic 3D mesh models. Moreover, existing visual datasets for mice reconstruction only contain sparse viewpoints without 3D geometries. To fill the gap, we introduce MoReMouse, the first monocular dense 3D reconstruction network specifically designed for C57BL/6 mice. To achieve high-fidelity 3D reconstructions, we present three key innovations. First, we create the first high-fidelity, dense-view synthetic dataset for C57BL/6 mice by rendering a realistic, anatomically accurate Gaussian mouse avatar. Second, MoReMouse leverages a transformer-based feedforward architecture combined with triplane representation, enabling high-quality 3D surface generation from a single image, optimized for the intricacies of small animal morphology. Third, we propose geodesic-based continuous correspondence embeddings on the mouse surface, which serve as strong semantic priors, improving surface consistency and reconstruction stability, especially in highly dynamic regions like limbs and tail. Through extensive quantitative and qualitative evaluations, we demonstrate that MoReMouse significantly outperforms existing open-source methods in both accuracy and robustness.

SemanticSplat: Feed-Forward 3D Scene Understanding with Language-Aware Gaussian Fields

Holistic 3D scene understanding, which jointly models geometry, appearance, and semantics, is crucial for applications like augmented reality and robotic interaction. Existing feed-forward 3D scene understanding methods (e.g., LSM) are limited to extracting language-based semantics from scenes, failing to achieve holistic scene comprehension. Additionally, they suffer from low-quality geometry reconstruction and noisy artifacts. In contrast, per-scene optimization methods rely on dense input views, which reduces practicality and increases complexity during deployment. In this paper, we propose SemanticSplat, a feed-forward semantic-aware 3D reconstruction method, which unifies 3D Gaussians with latent semantic attributes for joint geometry-appearance-semantics modeling. To predict the semantic anisotropic Gaussians, SemanticSplat fuses diverse feature fields (e.g., LSeg, SAM) with a cost volume representation that stores cross-view feature similarities, enhancing coherent and accurate scene comprehension. Leveraging a two-stage distillation framework, SemanticSplat reconstructs a holistic multi-modal semantic feature field from sparse-view images. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method for 3D scene understanding tasks like promptable and open-vocabulary segmentation. Parametric Gaussian Human Model: Generalizable Prior for Efficient and Realistic Human Avatar Modeling

Photorealistic and animatable human avatars are a key enabler for virtual/augmented reality, telepresence, and digital entertainment. While recent advances in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) have greatly improved rendering quality and efficiency, existing methods still face fundamental challenges, including time-consuming per-subject optimization and poor generalization under sparse monocular inputs. In this work, we present the Parametric Gaussian Human Model (PGHM), a generalizable and efficient framework that integrates human priors into 3DGS for fast and high-fidelity avatar reconstruction from monocular videos. PGHM introduces two core components: (1) a UV-aligned latent identity map that compactly encodes subject-specific geometry and appearance into a learnable feature tensor; and (2) a disentangled Multi-Head U-Net that predicts Gaussian attributes by decomposing static, pose-dependent, and view-dependent components via conditioned decoders. This design enables robust rendering quality under challenging poses and viewpoints, while allowing efficient subject adaptation without requiring multi-view capture or long optimization time. Experiments show that PGHM is significantly more efficient than optimization-from-scratch methods, requiring only approximately 20 minutes per subject to produce avatars with comparable visual quality, thereby demonstrating its practical applicability for real-world monocular avatar creation.

DetailGen3D: Generative 3D Geometry Enhancement via Data-Dependent Flow

Modern 3D generation methods can rapidly create shapes from sparse or single views, but their outputs often lack geometric detail due to computational constraints. We present DetailGen3D, a generative approach specifically designed to enhance these generated 3D shapes. Our key insight is to model the coarse-to-fine transformation directly through data-dependent flows in latent space, avoiding the computational overhead of large-scale 3D generative models. We introduce a token matching strategy that ensures accurate spatial correspondence during refinement, enabling local detail synthesis while preserving global structure. By carefully designing our training data to match the characteristics of synthesized coarse shapes, our method can effectively enhance shapes produced by various 3D generation and reconstruction approaches, from single-view to sparse multi-view inputs. Extensive experiments demonstrate that DetailGen3D achieves high-fidelity geometric detail synthesis while maintaining efficiency in training.

DreamCraft3D++: Efficient Hierarchical 3D Generation with Multi-Plane Reconstruction Model

We introduce DreamCraft3D++, an extension of DreamCraft3D that enables efficient high-quality generation of complex 3D assets. DreamCraft3D++ inherits the multi-stage generation process of DreamCraft3D, but replaces the time-consuming geometry sculpting optimization with a feed-forward multi-plane based reconstruction model, speeding up the process by 1000x. For texture refinement, we propose a training-free IP-Adapter module that is conditioned on the enhanced multi-view images to enhance texture and geometry consistency, providing a 4x faster alternative to DreamCraft3D's DreamBooth fine-tuning. Experiments on diverse datasets demonstrate DreamCraft3D++'s ability to generate creative 3D assets with intricate geometry and realistic 360{\deg} textures, outperforming state-of-the-art image-to-3D methods in quality and speed. The full implementation will be open-sourced to enable new possibilities in 3D content creation.

InvertAvatar: Incremental GAN Inversion for Generalized Head Avatars

While high fidelity and efficiency are central to the creation of digital head avatars, recent methods relying on 2D or 3D generative models often experience limitations such as shape distortion, expression inaccuracy, and identity flickering. Additionally, existing one-shot inversion techniques fail to fully leverage multiple input images for detailed feature extraction. We propose a novel framework, \textbf{Incremental 3D GAN Inversion}, that enhances avatar reconstruction performance using an algorithm designed to increase the fidelity from multiple frames, resulting in improved reconstruction quality proportional to frame count. Our method introduces a unique animatable 3D GAN prior with two crucial modifications for enhanced expression controllability alongside an innovative neural texture encoder that categorizes texture feature spaces based on UV parameterization. Differentiating from traditional techniques, our architecture emphasizes pixel-aligned image-to-image translation, mitigating the need to learn correspondences between observation and canonical spaces. Furthermore, we incorporate ConvGRU-based recurrent networks for temporal data aggregation from multiple frames, boosting geometry and texture detail reconstruction. The proposed paradigm demonstrates state-of-the-art performance on one-shot and few-shot avatar animation tasks. Code will be available at https://github.com/XChenZ/invertAvatar.

Human4DiT: 360-degree Human Video Generation with 4D Diffusion Transformer

We present a novel approach for generating 360-degree high-quality, spatio-temporally coherent human videos from a single image. Our framework combines the strengths of diffusion transformers for capturing global correlations across viewpoints and time, and CNNs for accurate condition injection. The core is a hierarchical 4D transformer architecture that factorizes self-attention across views, time steps, and spatial dimensions, enabling efficient modeling of the 4D space. Precise conditioning is achieved by injecting human identity, camera parameters, and temporal signals into the respective transformers. To train this model, we collect a multi-dimensional dataset spanning images, videos, multi-view data, and limited 4D footage, along with a tailored multi-dimensional training strategy. Our approach overcomes the limitations of previous methods based on generative adversarial networks or vanilla diffusion models, which struggle with complex motions, viewpoint changes, and generalization. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate our method's ability to synthesize 360-degree realistic, coherent human motion videos, paving the way for advanced multimedia applications in areas such as virtual reality and animation.

DeepSeek-VL: Towards Real-World Vision-Language Understanding

We present DeepSeek-VL, an open-source Vision-Language (VL) Model designed for real-world vision and language understanding applications. Our approach is structured around three key dimensions: We strive to ensure our data is diverse, scalable, and extensively covers real-world scenarios including web screenshots, PDFs, OCR, charts, and knowledge-based content, aiming for a comprehensive representation of practical contexts. Further, we create a use case taxonomy from real user scenarios and construct an instruction tuning dataset accordingly. The fine-tuning with this dataset substantially improves the model's user experience in practical applications. Considering efficiency and the demands of most real-world scenarios, DeepSeek-VL incorporates a hybrid vision encoder that efficiently processes high-resolution images (1024 x 1024), while maintaining a relatively low computational overhead. This design choice ensures the model's ability to capture critical semantic and detailed information across various visual tasks. We posit that a proficient Vision-Language Model should, foremost, possess strong language abilities. To ensure the preservation of LLM capabilities during pretraining, we investigate an effective VL pretraining strategy by integrating LLM training from the beginning and carefully managing the competitive dynamics observed between vision and language modalities. The DeepSeek-VL family (both 1.3B and 7B models) showcases superior user experiences as a vision-language chatbot in real-world applications, achieving state-of-the-art or competitive performance across a wide range of visual-language benchmarks at the same model size while maintaining robust performance on language-centric benchmarks. We have made both 1.3B and 7B models publicly accessible to foster innovations based on this foundation model.

DeepSeek LLM: Scaling Open-Source Language Models with Longtermism

The rapid development of open-source large language models (LLMs) has been truly remarkable. However, the scaling law described in previous literature presents varying conclusions, which casts a dark cloud over scaling LLMs. We delve into the study of scaling laws and present our distinctive findings that facilitate scaling of large scale models in two commonly used open-source configurations, 7B and 67B. Guided by the scaling laws, we introduce DeepSeek LLM, a project dedicated to advancing open-source language models with a long-term perspective. To support the pre-training phase, we have developed a dataset that currently consists of 2 trillion tokens and is continuously expanding. We further conduct supervised fine-tuning (SFT) and Direct Preference Optimization (DPO) on DeepSeek LLM Base models, resulting in the creation of DeepSeek Chat models. Our evaluation results demonstrate that DeepSeek LLM 67B surpasses LLaMA-2 70B on various benchmarks, particularly in the domains of code, mathematics, and reasoning. Furthermore, open-ended evaluations reveal that DeepSeek LLM 67B Chat exhibits superior performance compared to GPT-3.5.

VectorTalker: SVG Talking Face Generation with Progressive Vectorisation

High-fidelity and efficient audio-driven talking head generation has been a key research topic in computer graphics and computer vision. In this work, we study vector image based audio-driven talking head generation. Compared with directly animating the raster image that most widely used in existing works, vector image enjoys its excellent scalability being used for many applications. There are two main challenges for vector image based talking head generation: the high-quality vector image reconstruction w.r.t. the source portrait image and the vivid animation w.r.t. the audio signal. To address these, we propose a novel scalable vector graphic reconstruction and animation method, dubbed VectorTalker. Specifically, for the highfidelity reconstruction, VectorTalker hierarchically reconstructs the vector image in a coarse-to-fine manner. For the vivid audio-driven facial animation, we propose to use facial landmarks as intermediate motion representation and propose an efficient landmark-driven vector image deformation module. Our approach can handle various styles of portrait images within a unified framework, including Japanese manga, cartoon, and photorealistic images. We conduct extensive quantitative and qualitative evaluations and the experimental results demonstrate the superiority of VectorTalker in both vector graphic reconstruction and audio-driven animation.
