Ultra-High-Definition Restoration Transformers with Correlation Matching Transformation

We propose UHDformer++, a general Transformer-based framework to solve numerous Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) image restoration tasks. UHDformer++ operates across $4$ coordinated learning spaces: 1) a high-resolution space (HR) for multi-level feature extraction, 2) a low-resolution space (LR) for learning compact, representative features, 3) a super-resolution space (SR) for upsampling low-resolution features from SR, and 4) a low-high fusion and reconstruction space (LHFR) for final image restoration. Specifically, HR extracts multi-scale high-resolution features and fuses them with low-resolution cues to produce residual images, while LR distills complementary representations from HR to improve restoration quality. To supply LHFR with richer features, SR super-resolves LR outputs before fusion. We further introduce two modules to bridge the high- and low-resolution spaces. The Feature-Refined Correlation Matching Transformation (FR-CMT) module selects the top $C/r~(C~\text{denotes the number of channels;~}r\geq1~\text{controls the squeezing level})$, from the fusion between max- and mean-pooled high-resolution features to replace less informative channels in the low-resolution Transformer. The Adaptive Channel Modulator (ACM) adaptively recalibrates multi-scale high-resolution features, ensuring that only task-relevant information propagates to LR. Extensive experiments demonstrate that UHDformer++ reduces model parameters by at least 86\% compared with recent state-of-the-art methods while achieving substantial performance gains across $5$ UHD restoration tasks, including low-light image enhancement, dehazing, deblurring, deraining, and desnowing. Code will be released at https://github.com/supersupercong/uhdformerplus.

Degradation-Aware Prompt Learning with Cross-Modal Compensation for Adverse Weather Removal

Adverse weather causes diverse and complex image degradations, severely compromising the reliability of computer vision systems. Existing all-in-one restoration models attempt to address multiple degradation types within a unified framework, but often lack explicit spatial and semantic modeling of degradation characteristics, limiting their adaptability to diverse weather conditions. To address this limitation, we propose a Degradation-Aware Cross-Modal Prompt Compensation Network (DCMPC-Net) that leverages cross-modal degradation cues from a pretrained vision-language model to condition restoration features within a unified backbone. Specifically, our DCMPC-Net mainly consists of the Cross-Modal Prompt Generator (CMPG), Prompt-Guided Attention Alignment Module (PGAAM), and Dual Feature Compensation Module (DFCM). The CMPG integrates textual embeddings with visual features to produce degradation-aware prompts that encode degradation-related semantic and contextual cues. These prompts are injected into the decoder via a PGAAM, which adaptively aligns semantic information with degraded regions to facilitate context-aware restoration. To further enhance structural fidelity, DFCM is introduced that disentangles degradation artifacts from scene structures, thereby improving the reconstruction of fine textures and detailed content. By integrating cross-modal semantic guidance with spatial alignment and structural enhancement, DCMPC-Net achieves robust and perceptually consistent restoration across diverse weather conditions. Extensive experiments show that DCMPC-Net outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both task-specific and unified settings, achieving superior accuracy and visual fidelity.

Multi-Modal Object Re-Identification with Dual Semantic Guidance and Global-Local Mutual Modulation

Multi-modal object Re-Identification (ReID) aims to retrieve target instances by leveraging complementary information across modalities. However, existing methods suffer from two challenges. First, they often fail to exploit well-aligned and reliable semantic priors, making them vulnerable to background clutter and cross-modal misalignment. On the other hand, they typically rely on holistic feature modeling, overlooking the synergy between global and local representations. To overcome these limitations, we propose a robust multi-modal ReID framework with dual semantic guidance and global-local mutual modulation, which mainly consists of three key components, namely the Text-Semantic Injector (TSI), the Masked Global-Local Modulator (MGLM), and the Hierarchical MoE Fusion (HMF). The TSI enhances semantic awareness by integrating clean and coherent textual features into visual tokens. The MGLM enables part-aware cross-modal interaction through joint guidance from soft masks and global context, improving fine-grained feature alignment. Finally, the HMF adaptively aggregates multi-spectral features under local semantic supervision, yielding discriminative and robust representations. Extensive experiments on three multi-modal ReID benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The code will be made publicly available at https://github.com/zw-absin/DSGM upon acceptance.

SP-MoMamba: Superpixel-driven Mixture of State Space Experts for Efficient Image Super-Resolution

State space models (SSMs) have emerged as a powerful paradigm for efficient single-image super-resolution (SR) due to their linear complexity and long-range modeling capabilities. However, existing Mamba-based methods typically rely on data-agnostic rigid scanning, which reshapes 2D images into 1D sequences over a fixed grid, inevitably disrupting spatial-semantic topology and introducing artifacts. Inspired by the \textbf{Gestalt perceptual grouping theory}, we propose \textbf{SP-MoMamba}, a superpixel-driven mixture of state space experts designed for content-aware SR. Our core idea is to transform the traditional rigid scanning into a \textbf{semantic-level interaction} by treating superpixels as fundamental units. Specifically, we introduce the \textbf{Superpixel-driven State Space Model (SP-SSM)}, which compresses semantically homogeneous regions into high-order tokens to preserve global topological consistency. To address the conflict between fixed scanning scales and diverse semantic granularities, we develop the \textbf{Multi-Scale Superpixel Mixture of State Space Experts (MSS-MoE)}. This module utilizes a dynamic routing mechanism to adaptively assign scale-specific experts, effectively capturing multi-scale textures while reducing computational redundancy. Furthermore, to prevent the loss of high-frequency details during global abstraction, we introduce a \textbf{Local Spatial Modulation Expert (LSME)} to complement the global modeling, ensuring a precise reconstruction of sharp edges and fine structures. Extensive experiments on standard benchmarks demonstrate that SP-MoMamba achieves superior reconstruction fidelity and a more favorable efficiency-performance trade-off compared to state-of-the-art efficient SR methods.

Adapting Large VLMs with Iterative and Manual Instructions for Generative Low-light Enhancement

Most existing low-light image enhancement (LLIE) methods rely on pre-trained model priors, low-light inputs, or both, while neglecting the semantic guidance available from normal-light images. This limitation hinders their effectiveness in complex lighting conditions. In this paper, we propose VLM-IMI, a framework that adapts large vision-language models with iterative and manual instructions for generative LLIE. VLM-IMI mainly contains two branches: Normal-Light Instruction Prior Generation (NL-IPG) and Instruction-aware Light Enhancement Diffusion (IA-LED). The NL-IPG incorporates textual descriptions of the desired normal-light content as enhancement cues, enabling semantically informed restoration. IA-LED incorporates instruction priors from the NL-IPG to guide the diffusion process, enabling precise illumination enhancement. To effectively integrate cross-modal priors, we introduce a learnable instruction prior fusion module, which dynamically aligns and fuses image and text features, promoting the generation of detailed and semantically coherent outputs. During inference, as the ground-truth normal-light images are not available, we propose an inference with an iterative instructions strategy to refine textual instructions, progressively improving visual quality. Our VLM-IMI also inherently supports manual instruction control by allowing users to directly input custom instructions into the LLM to generate user-expected outputs. Experiments across diverse scenarios demonstrate that VLM-IMI outperforms SOTA methods in terms of perception and realism. The source code is available at: https://github.com/sunxiaoran01/VLM-IMI.

Scene Prior Filtering for Depth Super-Resolution

Multi-modal fusion serves as a cornerstone for successful depth map super-resolution. However, commonly used fusion strategies, such as addition and concatenation, fall short of effectively bridging the modal gap. As a result, guided image filtering methods have been introduced to mitigate this issue. Nevertheless, it is observed that their filter kernels usually encounter significant texture interference and edge inaccuracy. To tackle these two challenges, we introduce a Scene Prior Filtering network, SPFNet, which utilizes the priors' surface normal and semantic map from large-scale models. Specifically, we propose an All-in-one Prior Propagation that computes similarity between multi-modal scene priors, i.e., RGB, normal, semantic, and depth, to reduce the texture interference. Besides, we design a One-to-one Prior Embedding that continuously embeds every single modal prior into depth using Mutual Guided Filtering, further alleviating texture interference while enhancing edge representations. Our SPFNet has been extensively evaluated on both real-world and synthetic datasets, achieving state-of-the-art performance.

Cross-Scenario Deraining Adaptation with Unpaired Data: Superpixel Structural Priors and Multi-Stage Pseudo-Rain Synthesis

Image deraining plays a pivotal role in low-level computer vision, serving as a prerequisite for robust outdoor surveillance and autonomous driving systems. While deep learning paradigms have achieved remarkable success in firmly aligned settings, they often suffer from severe performance degradation when generalized to unseen Out-of-Distribution (OOD) scenarios. This failure stems primarily from the significant domain discrepancy between synthetic training datasets and the complex physical dynamics of real-world rain. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a pioneering cross-scenario deraining adaptation framework. Diverging from conventional approaches, our method obviates the requirements for paired rainy observations in the target domain, leveraging exclusively rain-free background images. We design a Superpixel Generation (Sup-Gen) module to extract stable structural priors from the source domain using Simple Linear Iterative Clustering. Subsequently, a Resolution-adaptive Fusion strategy is introduced to align these source structures with target backgrounds through texture similarity, ensuring the synthesis of diverse and realistic pseudo-data. Finally, we implement a pseudo-label re-Synthesize mechanism that employs multi-stage noise generation to simulate realistic rain streaks. This framework functions as a versatile plug-and-play module capable of seamless integration into arbitrary deraining architectures. Extensive experiments on state-of-the-art models demonstrate that our approach yields remarkable PSNR gains of up to 32% to 59% in OOD domains while significantly accelerating training convergence.

Unbiased Object Detection Beyond Frequency with Visually Prompted Image Synthesis

This paper presents a generation-based debiasing framework for object detection. Prior debiasing methods are often limited by the representation diversity of samples, while naive generative augmentation often preserves the biases it aims to solve. Moreover, our analysis reveals that simply generating more data for rare classes is suboptimal due to two core issues: i) instance frequency is an incomplete proxy for the true data needs of a model, and ii) current layout-to-image synthesis lacks the fidelity and control to generate high-quality, complex scenes. To overcome this, we introduce the representation score (RS) to diagnose representational gaps beyond mere frequency, guiding the creation of new, unbiased layouts. To ensure high-quality synthesis, we replace ambiguous text prompts with a precise visual blueprint and employ a generative alignment strategy, which fosters communication between the detector and generator. Our method significantly narrows the performance gap for underrepresented object groups, \eg, improving large/rare instances by 4.4/3.6 mAP over the baseline, and surpassing prior L2I synthesis models by 15.9 mAP for layout accuracy in generated images.

MiM-DiT: MoE in MoE with Diffusion Transformers for All-in-One Image Restoration

All-in-one image restoration is challenging because different degradation types, such as haze, blur, noise, and low-light, impose diverse requirements on restoration strategies, making it difficult for a single model to handle them effectively. In this paper, we propose a unified image restoration framework that integrates a dual-level Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture with a pretrained diffusion model. The framework operates at two levels: the Inter-MoE layer adaptively combines expert groups to handle major degradation types, while the Intra-MoE layer further selects specialized sub-experts to address fine-grained variations within each type. This design enables the model to achieve coarse-grained adaptation across diverse degradation categories while performing fine-grained modulation for specific intra-class variations, ensuring both high specialization in handling complex, real-world corruptions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed method performs favorably against the state-of-the-art approaches on multiple image restoration task.

Neural Discrimination-Prompted Transformers for Efficient UHD Image Restoration and Enhancement

We propose a simple yet effective UHDPromer, a neural discrimination-prompted Transformer, for Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) image restoration and enhancement. Our UHDPromer is inspired by an interesting observation that there implicitly exist neural differences between high-resolution and low-resolution features, and exploring such differences can facilitate low-resolution feature representation. To this end, we first introduce Neural Discrimination Priors (NDP) to measure the differences and then integrate NDP into the proposed Neural Discrimination-Prompted Attention (NDPA) and Neural Discrimination-Prompted Network (NDPN). The proposed NDPA re-formulates the attention by incorporating NDP to globally perceive useful discrimination information, while the NDPN explores a continuous gating mechanism guided by NDP to selectively permit the passage of beneficial content. To enhance the quality of restored images, we propose a super-resolution-guided reconstruction approach, which is guided by super-resolving low-resolution features to facilitate final UHD image restoration. Experiments show that UHDPromer achieves the best computational efficiency while still maintaining state-of-the-art performance on $3$ UHD image restoration and enhancement tasks, including low-light image enhancement, image dehazing, and image deblurring. The source codes and pre-trained models will be made available at https://github.com/supersupercong/uhdpromer.

Bridging Fidelity-Reality with Controllable One-Step Diffusion for Image Super-Resolution

Recent diffusion-based one-step methods have shown remarkable progress in the field of image super-resolution, yet they remain constrained by three critical limitations: (1) inferior fidelity performance caused by the information loss from compression encoding of low-quality (LQ) inputs; (2) insufficient region-discriminative activation of generative priors; (3) misalignment between text prompts and their corresponding semantic regions. To address these limitations, we propose CODSR, a controllable one-step diffusion network for image super-resolution. First, we propose an LQ-guided feature modulation module that leverages original uncompressed information from LQ inputs to provide high-fidelity conditioning for the diffusion process. We then develop a region-adaptive generative prior activation method to effectively enhance perceptual richness without sacrificing local structural fidelity. Finally, we employ a text-matching guidance strategy to fully harness the conditioning potential of text prompts. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CODSR achieves superior perceptual quality and competitive fidelity compared with state-of-the-art methods with efficient one-step inference.

FlareX: A Physics-Informed Dataset for Lens Flare Removal via 2D Synthesis and 3D Rendering

Lens flare occurs when shooting towards strong light sources, significantly degrading the visual quality of images. Due to the difficulty in capturing flare-corrupted and flare-free image pairs in the real world, existing datasets are typically synthesized in 2D by overlaying artificial flare templates onto background images. However, the lack of flare diversity in templates and the neglect of physical principles in the synthesis process hinder models trained on these datasets from generalizing well to real-world scenarios. To address these challenges, we propose a new physics-informed method for flare data generation, which consists of three stages: parameterized template creation, the laws of illumination-aware 2D synthesis, and physical engine-based 3D rendering, which finally gives us a mixed flare dataset that incorporates both 2D and 3D perspectives, namely FlareX. This dataset offers 9,500 2D templates derived from 95 flare patterns and 3,000 flare image pairs rendered from 60 3D scenes. Furthermore, we design a masking approach to obtain real-world flare-free images from their corrupted counterparts to measure the performance of the model on real-world images. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method and dataset.
