Higgs Boson Pair Production via Gluon Fusion: Higher-Order Corrections and Theoretical Uncertainties

In this contribution, the higher-order QCD and electroweak corrections to Standard Model Higgs boson pair production via the gluon-fusion mechanism, $gg\to hh$, are summarized and the different sources of theoretical uncertainty are assessed. The discussion includes finite top quark mass effects, matching to parton showers, approximate NNLO and N$^3$LO QCD corrections, NLO electroweak effects, and uncertainties associated with the top quark mass scheme and perturbative scale choices. In addition, we provide an updated state-of-the-art recommendation for the inclusive gluon-fusion Higgs boson pair production cross section and the corresponding Higgs boson pair invariant-mass distribution.

Three-loop helicity amplitudes of four-lepton scattering in QED

We present the analytic expressions of the three-loop virtual corrections to the helicity amplitudes of 2 -> 2 four-fermion scattering processes in massless QED. The contributing Feynman diagrams are grouped into integrand families characterised by independent Symanzik polynomials and decomposed in terms of master integrals using an optimised integration-by-parts strategy. Upon the renormalisation of the ultraviolet divergences and the extraction of the universal infrared pole structure, the finite results are expressed in terms of generalised polylogarithms up to transcendental weight six. Amplitudes for dimuon production in electron-positron annihilations, electron-muon scattering, and Bhabha scattering are explicitly derived.

Six-loop gravitational interactions at the sixth post-Newtonian order

We compute the gravitational interaction of two coalescing compact objects at sixth post-Newtonian order in the static limit, employing the diagrammatic approach within the effective field theory framework of General Relativity. The calculation requires the evaluation of six-loop Feynman diagrams that are mapped onto two-point integrals with a gauge-theory-like structure, which are computed here for the first time. The resulting seventh-order contribution in Newton's constant is finite in three space dimensions. This result provides the most technically demanding missing ingredient for the determination of the conservative dynamics of the gravitational two-body system at sixth post-Newtonian order.

Higgs-Pair Production via Gluon Fusion: Top-Yukawa- and light-quark-induced electroweak Corrections

Gluon fusion, $gg\to HH$, is the dominant Higgs-pair production process at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and provides the first direct access to the trilinear Higgs self-interaction. The process is loop-induced, with the main contribution emerging from top-quark loops within the Standard Model. In the past, the QCD corrections have been calculated and found to increase the cross section significantly. With the anticipated accuracies achievable at the high-luminosity LHC (HL--LHC), the theoretical uncertainties will be of increased relevance to compete with the experimental precision at the level of less than 30\%. In this work, we take the next steps towards the determination of the complete electroweak corrections at next-to-leading order by calculating the full top-Yukawa and light-quark induced corrections. These corrections modify the cross section moderately in the kinematical regimes of interest.

LINE: Loop Integrals Numerical Evaluation

We present methods for the numerical evaluation of the master integrals that appear in the calculation of scattering amplitudes at higher order in perturbative quantum field theory. We follow the general strategy of solving first-order ordinary differential equations through series expansion. We have collected these procedures in an open source computer program that we dub \Line{}. Boundary conditions can be provided by the user or computed internally using the method of expansion by regions. Illustrative examples are also given.

Two-loop scattering amplitude for heavy-quark pair production through light-quark annihilation in QCD

We present the first full analytic evaluation of the scattering amplitude for the process $q {\bar q} \to Q {\bar Q}$ up-to two loops in Quantum Chromodynamics, for a massless $(q)$ and a massive $(Q)$ quark flavour. The interference terms of the one- and two-loop amplitudes with the Born amplitude, decomposed in terms of gauge invariant form factors depending on the colour and flavour structure, are analytically calculated by keeping complete dependence on the squared center-of-mass energy, the squared momentum transfer, and the heavy-quark mass. The results are expressed as Laurent series around four space-time dimensions, with coefficients given in terms of generalised polylogarithms and transcendental constants up-to weight four. Our results validate the known, purely numerical calculations of the squared amplitude, and extend the analytic knowledge, previously limited to a subset of form factors, to their whole set, coming from both planar and non-planar diagrams, up-to the second order corrections in the strong coupling constant.

NNLO QED contribution to the $\mu e\to \mu e$ elastic scattering

We present the current status of the Next-to-Next-to-Leading Order QED contribution to the $\mu e$-scattering. Particular focus is given to the techniques involved to tackle the virtual amplitude and their automatic implementation. Renormalization of the amplitude will be also discuss in details.
