String: An Agentic OS Where Every App Is a Markdown File

LLM agents have become a new class of software user, but every surface they work through was designed for someone else. Pages are built for human eyes, which can skim and ignore; tool schemas for programs, which pay nothing to carry definitions they never call. An agent has neither luxury: it re-reads, and pays again for, everything it is shown on every turn. We present String, an open-source runtime that gives this user an interface of its own and treats the job as an operating-systems problem. Tool knowledge moves out of the agent's context and into a common layer that renders it back one view at a time as Markdown. A single SFMD (String-Flavored Markdown) document declares an application's views, typed actions, navigation, and credentials, and the runtime handles discovery, validation, execution, state, and secrets behind two core verbs: /open to see and /act to do. Web and app turn out to be two renderings of one architecture: an SFMD site serves styled HTML to browsers and the raw document to agents, so one grammar reaches apps, files, shells, and the web, even legacy HTML, with no per-site integration. Views stay partial by design, and the staging is causal: disclosing one tier of detail a single turn too early costs up to 23 accuracy points, while proper staging drops wrong-action selection from 28% to 2%. Privilege follows provenance: a remote page may call HTTP but never the shell, and caller-supplied text never expands a stored secret. On an 87-task benchmark that pairs each task with curated skills, operationalizing those procedures as on-demand String apps yields comparable aggregate success across six models from frontier to small (+1.3pp) while using 33.5% fewer tokens among completed episodes, and the resident interface stays a constant 53 tokens at any catalog size. We report the design, the evaluation, and what three months of production use taught us.

Real-Time Intuitive AI Drawing System for Collaboration: Enhancing Human Creativity through Formal and Contextual Intent Integration

This paper presents a real-time generative drawing system that interprets and integrates both formal intent - the structural, compositional, and stylistic attributes of a sketch - and contextual intent - the semantic and thematic meaning inferred from its visual content - into a unified transformation process. Unlike conventional text-prompt-based generative systems, which primarily capture high-level contextual descriptions, our approach simultaneously analyzes ground-level intuitive geometric features such as line trajectories, proportions, and spatial arrangement, and high-level semantic cues extracted via vision-language models. These dual intent signals are jointly conditioned in a multi-stage generation pipeline that combines contour-preserving structural control with style- and content-aware image synthesis. Implemented with a touchscreen-based interface and distributed inference architecture, the system achieves low-latency, two-stage transformation while supporting multi-user collaboration on shared canvases. The resulting platform enables participants, regardless of artistic expertise, to engage in synchronous, co-authored visual creation, redefining human-AI interaction as a process of co-creation and mutual enhancement.

SketcherX: AI-Driven Interactive Robotic drawing with Diffusion model and Vectorization Techniques

We introduce SketcherX, a novel robotic system for personalized portrait drawing through interactive human-robot engagement. Unlike traditional robotic art systems that rely on analog printing techniques, SketcherX captures and processes facial images to produce vectorized drawings in a distinctive, human-like artistic style. The system comprises two 6-axis robotic arms : a face robot, which is equipped with a head-mounted camera and Large Language Model (LLM) for real-time interaction, and a drawing robot, utilizing a fine-tuned Stable Diffusion model, ControlNet, and Vision-Language models for dynamic, stylized drawing. Our contributions include the development of a custom Vector Low Rank Adaptation model (LoRA), enabling seamless adaptation to various artistic styles, and integrating a pair-wise fine-tuning approach to enhance stroke quality and stylistic accuracy. Experimental results demonstrate the system's ability to produce high-quality, personalized portraits within two minutes, highlighting its potential as a new paradigm in robotic creativity. This work advances the field of robotic art by positioning robots as active participants in the creative process, paving the way for future explorations in interactive, human-robot artistic collaboration.

Semantics-Guided Object Removal for Facial Images: with Broad Applicability and Robust Style Preservation

Object removal and image inpainting in facial images is a task in which objects that occlude a facial image are specifically targeted, removed, and replaced by a properly reconstructed facial image. Two different approaches utilizing U-net and modulated generator respectively have been widely endorsed for this task for their unique advantages but notwithstanding each method's innate disadvantages. U-net, a conventional approach for conditional GANs, retains fine details of unmasked regions but the style of the reconstructed image is inconsistent with the rest of the original image and only works robustly when the size of the occluding object is small enough. In contrast, the modulated generative approach can deal with a larger occluded area in an image and provides {a} more consistent style, yet it usually misses out on most of the detailed features. This trade-off between these two models necessitates an invention of a model that can be applied to any size of mask while maintaining a consistent style and preserving minute details of facial features. Here, we propose Semantics-Guided Inpainting Network (SGIN) which itself is a modification of the modulated generator, aiming to take advantage of its advanced generative capability and preserve the high-fidelity details of the original image. By using the guidance of a semantic map, our model is capable of manipulating facial features which grants direction to the one-to-many problem for further practicability.
