Majorana Neutrinos and Gravitational Oscillation

We analyze the possibility of encountering resonant transitions of high energy Majorana neutrinos produced in Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN). We consider gravitational, electromagnetic and matter effects and show that the latter are ignorable. Resonant oscillations due to the gravitational interactions are shown to occur at energies in the PeV range for magnetic moments in the $10^{-17} μ_B$ range. Coherent precession will dominate for larger magnetic moments. The alllowed regions for gravitational resonant transitions are obtained.

3-Cocycles and the Operator Product Expansion

Anomalous contributions to the Jacobi identity of chromo-electric fields and non-Abelian vector currents are calculated using a non-perturbative approach that combines operator product expansion and a generalization of Bjorken-Johnson-Low limit. The failure of the Jacobi identity and the associated 3-cocycles are discussed.

APPLICATIONS OF EFFECTIVE LAGRANGIANS

The applications of effective lagrangians to the determination of the effects of physics beyond the Standard Model are briefly described. Emphasis is given to those effective operators which generate the largest deviations form the Standard Model; some applications are described. of the paper (or other short description) [Talk given at "Beyond the Standard Model IV", Lake Tahoe, CA, Dec. 13-18, 1994]

Higgs boson production at $e^+ e^-$ colliders: a model independent approach.

We consider non-Standard Model physics effects using an effective lagrangian parameterization. We determine the operators whose effects are most significant and extract the sensitivity to the scale of new physics generated by the existing data. We then consider processes containing the Higgs particle in $e^+e^-$ colliders as a probe for new physics effects, and demonstrate their usefulness in this area.

Electroweak effective lagrangians

In this paper I review several aspects of the use of effective lagrangians in (mainly) electroweak physics. The conditions under which this approach is reliable and useful, as well as the limitations of the formalism are detailed. Various applications are also presented.

CP violation in photon-photon collisions

The effective lagrangian parametrization is used to determine the CP violating effects in $ γγ$ collisions. for the processes studied the effects are found to be very small, the one exception being scalar production.

Anomalous Neutrino Reactions at HERA

We study the sensitivity of HERA to new physics using the helicity suppressed reaction $e_R p \rightarrow νX $, where the final neutrino can be a standard model one or a heavy neutrino. The approach is model independent and is based on an effective lagrangian parametrization. It is shown that HERA will put significant bounds on the scale of new physics, though, in general, these are more modest than previously thought. If deviations from the standard model are observed in the above processes, future colliders such as the SSC and LHC will be able to directly probe the physics responsible for these discrepancies}

Effective Lagrangians and Triple Boson Couplings

I review the use of effective lagrangians in describing the physics beyond the standard model, several theoretical and practical aspects are discussed. It is argued that the only situations where new physics can be observed corresponds to cases where the standard model cntributions are extremely suppressed and where high quality data is avaliable.
