Algebraic surfaces in the complex projective space with a large number of A-type singularities have been presented in a recent paper. We extend the construction in order to obtain new lower bounds for the maximal number of A singularities in degree d complex surfaces.
We construct algebraic surfaces with a large number of type A singularities. Bivariate polynomials presented in previous works for the construction of nodal surfaces and certain families of Belyi polynomials are used. In some cases explicit expressions in terms of classical Jacobi polynomials are obtained.
A family of polynomials linked to the set of the deltoid tangents and its associated algebraic hypersurfaces has been presented in recent years. In this paper we study some related maximising and free plane curves. We also analyse the bifurcations on polynomial Hamiltonian dynamical systems defined from such a family.
We study the construction of substitution tilings of the plane based on certain simplicial configurations of tangents of the deltoid with evenly distributed orientations. The random tiling ensembles are obtained as a result of tile rearrangements in the substitution rules associated to edge flips.
A construction of algebraic surfaces based on two types of simple arrangements of lines, containing the prototiles of substitution tilings, has been proposed recently. The surfaces are derived with the help of polynomials obtained from products of the lines generating the simple arrangements. One of the arrangements gives the generalizations of the Chebyshev polynomials known as folding polynomials. The other produces a family of polynomials having more critical points with the same critical values, which can also be used to derive hypersurfaces with many Aj-singularities.
