Beauville--Bogomolov--Yau decomposition for Kähler generalized pairs

In this paper, we establish the Beauville--Bogomolov--Yau decomposition for generalized pairs in the Kähler setting, thereby extending this structure theorem to the natural framework of the Kähler generalized Minimal Model Program. More precisely, we prove that, after passing to a finite quasi-étale cover, a Kähler generalized klt pair $(X,Δ,\boldsymbolβ)$ of Calabi--Yau type admits a locally constant fibration $(X,Δ)\to Y$ over a Calabi--Yau variety $Y$ whose fiber $(F,Δ|_{F})$ is rationally connected. Equivalently, after base change to the universal cover of $Y$, the fibration becomes a product, and its global structure is determined by a monodromy action preserving the pair $(F,Δ|_{F})$. As a principal application, when the nef b-part $\boldsymbolβ$ vanishes, we show that the monodromy can be eliminated after a further finite quasi-étale cover, yielding a product decomposition into a rationally connected pair, strict Calabi--Yau varieties, irreducible holomorphic symplectic varieties, and complex tori. The proof introduces new analytic methods involving relative projectivity, localized positivity and flatness of direct image sheaves, generalized pairs in the analytic Minimal Model Program, and foliations on singular Kähler varieties.

On a conjecture of Demailly-Peternell-Schneider: the Kahler case

Let $f:(X,Δ)\rightarrow Y$ be a surjective holomorphic map between two normal Kahler varieties, where (X,Δ) is a log canonical pair, -(KX+Δ) is nef and Y is Q-Gorenstein. In Fu-Guo-Song-Wang [18], it is proved that -KY is pseudo-effective if f is a projective morphism. In this paper, prove that -KY is pseudo-effective without assuming that f is projective

Fundamental groups of compact Kahler varieties with nef anti canonical bundle

It is proved by M. Paun (1997, 2017) that the fundamental group of a compact Kahler manifold X is almost Abelian if the anti-canonical bundle -KX is nef. In this paper, we apply the recent geometric analytic theory of Kahler spaces developed by Guo-Phong-Song-Sturm to study fundamental groups of mildly singular compact Kahler varieties. We first extend Paun's result to log canonical pairs (X,Delta) with smooth X and nef -(KX+Delta) as well as to compact Kahler manifolds X with pseudo-effective -KX under a suitable assumption on the singularities of c1(-KX). We further prove that, for a 3-dimensional log canonical pair (X,Δ) with X being klt, pi 1(X) is almost Abelian if -(KX+Δ) is nef. Moreover, as one of the main ingredients for the proof of these results, we establish the surjectivity of the Albanese maps of compact normal complex varieties X in Fujiki class C that admits an effective R-divisor Δsuch that the pair (X,Δ) is log canonical with nef anti-log canonical divisor -(KX+Δ).This generalizes the corresponding theorems for projective varieties (Zhang, 2005), for klt pairs (Matsumura-Wang-Wu-Zhang, 2025) and for log smooth case (Fu-Han-Zou, 2025)

An abundance-type result for the tangent bundles of smooth Fano varieties

In this paper we prove the following abundance-type result: for any smooth Fano variety $X$, the tangent bundle $T_X$ is nef if and only if it is big and semiample in the sense that the tautological line bundle $\mathscr{O}_{\mathbb{P}T_X}(1)$ is so, by which we establish a weak form of the Campana-Peternell conjecture (Camapan-Peternell, 1991).

A fluctuating lattice Boltzmann method for viscoelastic fluid flows

This study introduces a novel fluctuating lattice Boltzmann (LB) method for simulating viscoelastic fluid flows governed by the Oldroyd-B model. In contrast to conventional LB approaches that explicitly compute the divergence of the polymer stress tensor using finite-difference schemes, the proposed method incorporates the polymer stress implicitly by introducing a polymer stress fluctuation term directly into the evolution equation. This treatment avoids the need for stress-gradient computations, and preserves the physical characteristics of viscoelastic fluid flows. The proposed method is validated against four classical benchmark problems: the simplified four-roll mill, planar Poiseuille flow, unsteady Womersley flow, and the three-dimensional Taylor-Green vortex. The numerical results show excellent agreement with analytical solutions and previous numerical results, confirming the method's reliability in viscoelastic fluid dynamics. Moreover, performance evaluations demonstrate that the present model reduces the memory occupancy and enhances computational efficiency, highlighting its potential for large-scale simulations of complex viscoelastic flows systems.

Droplet impact behavior on a hydrophobic plate with a wettability-patterned orifice

Droplet impact behavior has attracted much attention recently due to its academic significance and diverse industrial applications. This study employs the lattice Boltzmann method to simulate the impact of a droplet on a hydrophobic plate featuring a square orifice. Unlike previous studies, the chemical property of the orifice considered in this work is not homogeneous but heterogeneous, and its cross-sectional wettability changes from hydrophobicity to hydrophilicity. The study first validates the numerical method against experimental data, and then investigates in detail the influences of the Weber number, wettability difference, and pore size. According to the numerical results, we observed that the evolutionary stages of the impinging droplet always include the spreading phase and the rebounding phase, while whether there exists the splitting phase, it depends on the combined effect of the wettability difference and the Weber number. The impact behavior of droplets is analyzed by evaluating the underlying mechanisms such as kinetic energy, surface energy, viscous dissipation energy, and pressure. It is interesting to note that the existence of wettability-patterned pore tends to promote adhesion of droplets on the plate, resulting in the droplet impact behaviors are largely different from that for the case of homogeneous pore. Additionally, a phase diagram is constructed for various Weber numbers and pore sizes, revealing that the dynamic behavior of droplets is determined by the competition among dynamic pressure, capillary pressure, and viscous pressure losses. These insights from numerical studies guide the development of innovative solid substrates capable of manipulating droplet motion.

Structure theorem for projective klt pairs with nef anti-canonical divisor

In this paper, we establish a structure theorem for projective klt pairs $(X,Δ)$ with nef anti-log canonical divisor; specifically, we prove that, up to replacing $X$ with a finite quasi-étale cover, $X$ admits a locally trivial rationally connected fibration onto a projective klt variety with numerically trivial canonical divisor. This structure theorem generalizes previous works for smooth projective varieties and reduces several structure problems to the singular Beauville-Bogomolov decomposition for Calabi-Yau varieties. As an application, projective varieties of klt Calabi-Yau type, which naturally appear as an outcome of the Log Minimal Model Program, are decomposed into building block varieties: rationally connected varieties and Calabi-Yau varieties.

Strictly nef divisors on singular threefolds

Let $X$ be a normal projective variety with only klt singularities, and $L_X$ a strictly nef $\mathbb{Q}$-divisor on $X$. In this paper, we study the singular version of Serrano's conjecture, i.e., the ampleness of $K_X+t L_X$ for sufficiently large $t\gg 1$. We show that, if $X$ is assumed to be a $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial Gorenstein terminal threefold, then $K_X+tL_X$ is ample for $t\gg 1$ unless $X$ is a weak Calabi-Yau variety (i.e., the canonical divisor $K_X\sim_\mathbb{Q}0$ and the augmented irregularity $q^\circ(X)=0$) with $L_X\cdot c_2(X)=0$.

Algebraic fibre spaces with strictly nef relative anti-log canonical divisor

Let $(X,Δ)$ be a projective klt pair, and $f:X\to Y$ a fibration to a smooth projective variety $Y$ with strictly nef relative anti-log canonical divisor $-(K_{X/Y}+Δ)$. We prove that $f$ is a locally constant fibration with rationally connected fibres, and the base $Y$ is a canonically polarized hyperbolic projective manifold. In particular, when $Y$ is a single point, we establish that $X$ is rationally connected. Moreover, when $\dim X=3$ and $-(K_X+Δ)$ is strictly nef, we prove that $-(K_X+Δ)$ is ample, which confirms the singular version of a conjecture of Campana-Peternell for threefolds.

Structure of projective varieties with nef anticanonical divisor: the case of log terminal singularities

In this article we study the structure of klt projective varieties with nef anticanonical divisor (and more generally, varieties of semi-Fano type), especially the canonical fibrations associated to them. We show that: 1. the Albanese map for such variety is a locally constant fibration (that is, an analytic fibre bundle with connected fibres that $X$ is equal to the product of the universal cover of the Albanese torus by the fibre of the Albanese map quotient by a diagonal action of the fundamenatl group of the Albanese torus); 2. if the smooth locus is simply connected, the MRC fibration of such variety is an everywhere defined morphism and induces a decomposition into a product of a rationally connected variety and of a projective variety with trivial canonical divisor. These generalize the corresponding results for smooth projective varieties with nef anticanonical bundle in Cao (2019) and Cao-Höring (2019) to the klt case, and can be also regarded as a partial extension of the singular Beauville-Bogomolov decomposition theorem proved by successive works of Greb-Kebekus-Peternell (2016), Druel (2018), Guenencia-Greb-Kebekus (2019) and Höring-Peternell (2019).

On the Iitaka Conjecture $C_{n,m}$ for Kähler Fibre Spaces

By applying the positivity theorem of direct images and a pluricanonical version of the structure theorem on the cohomology jumping loci à la Green-Lazarsfeld-Simpson, we show that the klt Kähler version of the Iitaka conjecture $C_{n,m}$ (Ueno, 1975) for $f:X\to Y$ (surjective morphism between compact Kähler manifolds with connected general fibre) holds true when the determinant of the direct image of some power of the relative canonical bundle is big on $Y$ or when $Y$ is a complex torus. These generalize the corresponding results of Viehweg (1983) and of Cao-P\u aun (2017) respectively. We further generalize the later case to the geometric orbifold setting, i.e. prove that $C_{n,m}^{\text{orb}}$ (Campana, 2004) holds when $Y$ is a complex torus.
