Beyond Coherence: Benchmarking Professional Editing-Technique Execution in Multi-Shot Audio-Video Generation

Recent multi-shot audio-video generators can produce increasingly coherent and cinematic outputs, but coherence does not imply the ability to execute editing techniques. Professional editing depends on shot structure, transition grammar, audio-video cut relations, and montage, yet existing benchmarks largely rely on proxies such as content quality, synchronization, or physical plausibility, systematically missing whether such editing instructions are actually executed. We introduce CutCraft, the first benchmark for editing-technique execution in multi-shot audio-video generation. CutCraft extends structured multi-shot prompts with explicit editing specifications and is paired with a hierarchical hybrid evaluation framework that combines shot-structure alignment, expert-model metrics, tool-grounded multimodal judgment, and rubric-based question answering. Beyond evaluation, we design an agentic editing baseline that decomposes generation into planning, shot-level synthesis, and post-hoc composition, explicitly realizing editing semantics such as J-cuts, L-cuts, and transition timing. Across 13 state-of-the-art closed- and open-source models, CutCraft reveals a consistent gap between coherence and editing-technique execution: current systems often produce plausible multi-shot videos yet fail to execute editorial instructions reliably. We find unstable shot structures, weak control of transition execution, and sharp degradation on higher-order montage, while aesthetic quality is only weakly correlated with editing-technique compliance. The benchmark and metrics, and the editing agent baseline are available at https://github.com/AlibabaResearch/cut-craft-bench.

Tora3: Trajectory-Guided Audio-Video Generation with Physical Coherence

Audio-video (AV) generation has recently made strong progress in perceptual quality and multimodal coherence, yet generating content with plausible motion-sound relations remains challenging. Existing methods often produce object motions that are visually unstable and sounds that are only loosely aligned with salient motion or contact events, largely because they lack an explicit motion-aware structure shared by video and audio generation. We present Tora3, a trajectory-guided AV generation framework that improves physical coherence by using object trajectories as a shared kinematic prior. Rather than treating trajectories as a video-only control signal, Tora3 uses them to jointly guide visual motion and acoustic events. Specifically, we design a trajectory-aligned motion representation for video, a kinematic-audio alignment module driven by trajectory-derived second-order kinematic states, and a hybrid flow matching scheme that preserves trajectory fidelity in trajectory-conditioned regions while maintaining local coherence elsewhere. We further curate PAV, a large-scale AV dataset emphasizing motion-relevant patterns with automatically extracted motion annotations. Extensive experiments show that Tora3 improves motion realism, motion-sound synchronization, and overall AV generation quality over strong open-source baselines. Identity-GRPO: Optimizing Multi-Human Identity-preserving Video Generation via Reinforcement Learning

While advanced methods like VACE and Phantom have advanced video generation for specific subjects in diverse scenarios, they struggle with multi-human identity preservation in dynamic interactions, where consistent identities across multiple characters are critical. To address this, we propose Identity-GRPO, a human feedback-driven optimization pipeline for refining multi-human identity-preserving video generation. First, we construct a video reward model trained on a large-scale preference dataset containing human-annotated and synthetic distortion data, with pairwise annotations focused on maintaining human consistency throughout the video. We then employ a GRPO variant tailored for multi-human consistency, which greatly enhances both VACE and Phantom. Through extensive ablation studies, we evaluate the impact of annotation quality and design choices on policy optimization. Experiments show that Identity-GRPO achieves up to 18.9% improvement in human consistency metrics over baseline methods, offering actionable insights for aligning reinforcement learning with personalized video generation.

LaTo: Landmark-tokenized Diffusion Transformer for Fine-grained Human Face Editing

Recent multimodal models for instruction-based face editing enable semantic manipulation but still struggle with precise attribute control and identity preservation. Structural facial representations such as landmarks are effective for intermediate supervision, yet most existing methods treat them as rigid geometric constraints, which can degrade identity when conditional landmarks deviate significantly from the source (e.g., large expression or pose changes, inaccurate landmark estimates). To address these limitations, we propose LaTo, a landmark-tokenized diffusion transformer for fine-grained, identity-preserving face editing. Our key innovations include: (1) a landmark tokenizer that directly quantizes raw landmark coordinates into discrete facial tokens, obviating the need for dense pixel-wise correspondence; (2) a location-mapped positional encoding and a landmark-aware classifier-free guidance that jointly facilitate flexible yet decoupled interactions among instruction, geometry, and appearance, enabling strong identity preservation; and (3) a landmark predictor that leverages vision-language models to infer target landmarks from instructions and source images, whose structured chain-of-thought improves estimation accuracy and interactive control. To mitigate data scarcity, we curate HFL-150K, to our knowledge the largest benchmark for this task, containing over 150K real face pairs with fine-grained instructions. Extensive experiments show that LaTo outperforms state-of-the-art methods by 7.8% in identity preservation and 4.6% in semantic consistency. Code and dataset will be made publicly available upon acceptance.

Cross-Layer Attentive Feature Upsampling for Low-latency Semantic Segmentation

Semantic segmentation is a fundamental problem in computer vision and it requires high-resolution feature maps for dense prediction. Current coordinate-guided low-resolution feature interpolation methods, e.g., bilinear interpolation, produce coarse high-resolution features which suffer from feature misalignment and insufficient context information. Moreover, enriching semantics to high-resolution features requires a high computation burden, so that it is challenging to meet the requirement of lowlatency inference. We propose a novel Guided Attentive Interpolation (GAI) method to adaptively interpolate fine-grained high-resolution features with semantic features to tackle these issues. Guided Attentive Interpolation determines both spatial and semantic relations of pixels from features of different resolutions and then leverages these relations to interpolate high-resolution features with rich semantics. GAI can be integrated with any deep convolutional network for efficient semantic segmentation. In experiments, the GAI-based semantic segmentation networks, i.e., GAIN, can achieve78.8 mIoU with 22.3 FPS on Cityscapes and 80.6 mIoU with 64.5 on CamVid using an NVIDIA 1080Ti GPU, which are the new state-of-the-art results of low-latency semantic segmentation. Tora2: Motion and Appearance Customized Diffusion Transformer for Multi-Entity Video Generation

Recent advances in diffusion transformer models for motion-guided video generation, such as Tora, have shown significant progress. In this paper, we present Tora2, an enhanced version of Tora, which introduces several design improvements to expand its capabilities in both appearance and motion customization. Specifically, we introduce a decoupled personalization extractor that generates comprehensive personalization embeddings for multiple open-set entities, better preserving fine-grained visual details compared to previous methods. Building on this, we design a gated self-attention mechanism to integrate trajectory, textual description, and visual information for each entity. This innovation significantly reduces misalignment in multimodal conditioning during training. Moreover, we introduce a contrastive loss that jointly optimizes trajectory dynamics and entity consistency through explicit mapping between motion and personalization embeddings. Tora2 is, to our best knowledge, the first method to achieve simultaneous multi-entity customization of appearance and motion for video generation. Experimental results demonstrate that Tora2 achieves competitive performance with state-of-the-art customization methods while providing advanced motion control capabilities, which marks a critical advancement in multi-condition video generation. Tora: Trajectory-oriented Diffusion Transformer for Video Generation

Recent advancements in Diffusion Transformer (DiT) have demonstrated remarkable proficiency in producing high-quality video content. Nonetheless, the potential of transformer-based diffusion models for effectively generating videos with controllable motion remains an area of limited exploration. This paper introduces Tora, the first trajectory-oriented DiT framework that concurrently integrates textual, visual, and trajectory conditions, thereby enabling scalable video generation with effective motion guidance. Specifically, Tora consists of a Trajectory Extractor (TE), a Spatial-Temporal DiT, and a Motion-guidance Fuser (MGF). The TE encodes arbitrary trajectories into hierarchical spacetime motion patches with a 3D motion compression network. The MGF integrates the motion patches into the DiT blocks to generate consistent videos that accurately follow designated trajectories. Our design aligns seamlessly with DiT's scalability, allowing precise control of video content's dynamics with diverse durations, aspect ratios, and resolutions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Tora excels in achieving high motion fidelity compared to the foundational DiT model, while also accurately simulating the complex movements of the physical world. TransVDM: Motion-Constrained Video Diffusion Model for Transparent Video Synthesis

Recent developments in Video Diffusion Models (VDMs) have demonstrated remarkable capability to generate high-quality video content. Nonetheless, the potential of VDMs for creating transparent videos remains largely uncharted. In this paper, we introduce TransVDM, the first diffusion-based model specifically designed for transparent video generation. TransVDM integrates a Transparent Variational Autoencoder (TVAE) and a pretrained UNet-based VDM, along with a novel Alpha Motion Constraint Module (AMCM). The TVAE captures the alpha channel transparency of video frames and encodes it into the latent space of the VDMs, facilitating a seamless transition to transparent video diffusion models. To improve the detection of transparent areas, the AMCM integrates motion constraints from the foreground within the VDM, helping to reduce undesirable artifacts. Moreover, we curate a dataset containing 250K transparent frames for training. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach across various benchmarks.

Knowledge Mining with Scene Text for Fine-Grained Recognition

Recently, the semantics of scene text has been proven to be essential in fine-grained image classification. However, the existing methods mainly exploit the literal meaning of scene text for fine-grained recognition, which might be irrelevant when it is not significantly related to objects/scenes. We propose an end-to-end trainable network that mines implicit contextual knowledge behind scene text image and enhance the semantics and correlation to fine-tune the image representation. Unlike the existing methods, our model integrates three modalities: visual feature extraction, text semantics extraction, and correlating background knowledge to fine-grained image classification. Specifically, we employ KnowBert to retrieve relevant knowledge for semantic representation and combine it with image features for fine-grained classification. Experiments on two benchmark datasets, Con-Text, and Drink Bottle, show that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art by 3.72\% mAP and 5.39\% mAP, respectively. To further validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we create a new dataset on crowd activity recognition for the evaluation. The source code and new dataset of this work are available at https://github.com/lanfeng4659/KnowledgeMiningWithSceneText.
