Hierarchical Optimization Based Multi-objective Dynamic Regulation Scheme for VANET Topology

As a core technology of intelligent transportation systems, vehicular ad-hoc networks support latency-sensitive services such as safety warning and cooperative perception via vehicle-to-everything communications. However, their highly dynamic topology increases average path length, raises latency, and reduces throughput, severely limiting communication performance. Existing topology optimization methods lack capabilities in multi-objective coordination, dynamic adaptation, and global-local synergy. To address this, this paper proposes a two-layer dynamic topology regulation scheme combining local feature aggregation and global adjustment. The scheme constructs a dynamic multi-objective optimization model integrating average path length, end-to-end latency, and network throughput, and achieves multi-index coordination via link adaptability metrics and a dynamic normalization mechanism. it quickly responds to local link changes via feature fusion of local node feature extraction and dynamic neighborhood sensing, and balances optimization accuracy and real-time performance using a dual-mode adaptive solving strategy for global topology adjustment. It reduces network oscillation risks by introducing a performance improvement threshold and a topology validity verification mechanism. Simulation results on real urban road networks via the SUMO platform show that the proposed scheme outperforms traditional methods in average path length (stabilizing at ~4 hops), end-to-end latency (remaining ~0.01 s), and network throughput.

NLP-Based Review for Toxic Comment Detection Tailored to the Chinese Cyberspace

With the in-depth integration of mobile Internet and widespread adoption of social platforms, user-generated content in the Chinese cyberspace has witnessed explosive growth. Among this content, the proliferation of toxic comments poses severe challenges to individual mental health, community atmosphere and social trust. Owing to the strong context dependence, cultural specificity and rapid evolution of Chinese cyber language, toxic expressions are often conveyed through complex forms such as homophones and metaphors, imposing notable limitations on traditional detection methods. To address this issue, this review focuses on the core topic of natural language processing based toxic comment detection in the Chinese cyberspace, systematically collating and critically analyzing the research progress and key challenges in this field. This review first defines the connotation and characteristics of Chinese toxic comments, and analyzes the platform ecology and transmission mechanisms they rely on. It then comprehensively reviews the construction methods and limitations of existing public datasets, and proposes a novel fine-grained and scalable framework for toxic comment definition and classification, along with corresponding data annotation and quality assessment strategies. We systematically summarize the evolutionary path of detection models from traditional methods to deep learning, with special emphasis on the importance of interpretability in model design. Finally, we thoroughly discuss the open challenges faced by current research and provide forward-looking suggestions for future research directions.

Base Station Sleeping Strategy Based on Load Sharing in Ultra-Dense Networks

To address the issues of high operational costs and low energy efficiency (EE) caused by the dense deployment of small base stations (s-BSs) in 5G ultra-dense networks (UDNs), this paper first constructs a multi-objective mathematical optimization model targeting maximizing EE and minimizing the number of active BSs. The model incorporates key constraints including BS operational state, user equipment (UE)-BS connection relationship, and load threshold, laying a theoretical foundation for the coordinated optimization of energy conservation and quality of service. Based on this model, an integrated solution combining UE-BS initial connection optimization and load-sharing based BS sleeping is proposed. In the initial connection phase, with communication quality and BS load as dual constraints, efficient matching between UEs and optimal BSs is achieved through three sequential steps: communication feasibility screening, redundant connection removal, and overload load redistribution. This resolves the problems of load imbalance and difficult identification of redundant BSs in UDNs arising from unordered initial connections. In the BS sleeping phase, a BS sleeping index, comprehensively considering UE transferability and backup BS resources, is innovatively introduced to quantify BS dormancy priority. Through a closed-loop process involving low-load BS screening, adjacent BS load evaluation, and load sharing by two takeover BSs based on their capacity, accurate dormancy of redundant BSs and collaborative load migration are realized. Simulation results in a typical UDNs scenario demonstrate that, compared with the traditional baseline scheme, the proposed solution exhibits significant advantages in convergence speed, optimization of the number of active BSs, and EE improvement.

Air-to-Ground Communications for Internet of Things: UAV-based Coverage Hole Detection and Recovery

Uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless connectivity for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, particularly in scenarios where conventional terrestrial networks are constrained or temporarily unavailable. However, traditional coverage-hole detection approaches, such as minimizing drive tests, are costly, time-consuming, and reliant on outdated radio-environment data, making them unsuitable for real-time applications. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a UAV-assisted framework for real-time detection and recovery of coverage holes in IoT networks. In the proposed scheme, a patrol UAV is first dispatched to identify coverage holes in regions where the operational status of terrestrial base stations (BSs) is uncertain. Once a coverage hole is detected, one or more UAVs acting as aerial BSs are deployed by a satellite or nearby operational BSs to restore connectivity. The UAV swarm is organized based on Delaunay triangulation, enabling scalable deployment and tractable analytical characterization using stochastic geometry. Moreover, a collision-avoidance mechanism grounded in multi-agent system theory ensures safe and coordinated motion among multiple UAVs. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves high efficiency in both coverage-hole detection and on-demand connectivity restoration while significantly reducing operational cost and time.

AI-empowered Channel Estimation for Block-based Active IRS-enhanced Hybrid-field IoT Network

In this paper, channel estimation (CE) for uplink hybrid-field communications involving multiple Internet of Things (IoT) devices assisted by an active intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is investigated. Firstly, to reduce the complexity of near-field (NF) channel modeling and estimation between IoT devices and active IRS, a sub-blocking strategy for active IRS is proposed. Specifically, the entire active IRS is divided into multiple smaller sub-blocks, so that IoT devices are located in the far-field (FF) region of each sub block, while also being located in the NF region of the entire active IRS. This strategy significantly simplifies the channel model and reduces the parameter estimation dimension by decoupling the high-dimensional NF channel parameter space into low dimensional FF sub channels. Subsequently, the relationship between channel approximation error and CE error with respect to the number of sub blocks is derived, and the optimal number of sub blocks is solved based on the criterion of minimizing the total error. In addition, considering that the amplification capability of active IRS requires power consumption, a closed-form expression for the optimal power allocation factor is derived. To further reduce the pilot overhead, a lightweight CE algorithm based on convolutional autoencoder (CAE) and multi-head attention mechanism, called CAEformer, is designed. The Cramer-Rao lower bound is derived to evaluate the proposed algorithm's performance. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the proposed CAEformer network significantly outperforms the conventional least square and minimum mean square error scheme in terms of estimation accuracy.

Secrecy Sum-Rate Maximization for Active IRS-Assisted MIMO-OFDM SWIPT System

The propagation loss of RF signals is a significant issue in simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) systems. Additionally, ensuring information security is crucial due to the broadcasting nature of wireless channels. To address these challenges, we exploit the potential of active intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) in a multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) SWIPT system. The active IRS provides better beamforming gain than the passive IRS, reducing the "double-fading" effect. Moreover, the noise introduced at the active IRS can be used as artificial noise (AN) to jam eavesdroppers. This paper formulates a secrecy sum-rate maximization problem related to precoding matrices, power splitting (PS) ratios, and the IRS matrix. Since the problem is highly non-convex, we propose a block coordinate descent (BCD)-based algorithm to find a sub-optimal solution. Moreover, we develop a heuristic algorithm based on the zero-forcing precoding scheme to reduce computational complexity. Simulation results show that the active IRS achieves a higher secrecy sum rate than the passive and non-IRS systems, especially when the transmit power is low or the direct link is blocked. Moreover, increasing the power budget at the active IRS can significantly improve the secrecy sum rate.

Delay Performance Analysis of Delay-Deterministic Wireless Networks with Infinite and Finite Blocklength Transmission

In order to achieve stable and reliable industrial manufacturing, wireless networks must meet the stringent communication requirements of industrial automation, particularly the need for deterministic low latency communication. The limited wireless resources and time-varying fading channel contribute to the random fluctuations of transmission delay, making it challenging to realize delay-deterministic wireless networks. An open challenge in this context is to model delay determinism, also known as jitter, and analyze delay performance. In this paper, we model jitter as the variance of delay and conduct a comprehensive analysis of delay performance. Specifically, we consider two transmission regimes: infinite blocklength (IBL) and finite blocklength (FBL). In the IBL regime, the distribution of the transmission delay is analyzed, and the closed-form expressions for the average delay, jitter, and delay violation probability are derived. In the FBL regime, an upper bound on the transmission delay is first approximated at a high signalto-noise ratio. Based on this upper bound, the delay distribution, delay violation probability, average delay, and jitter are derived. Finally, simulation results are provided to validate the accuracy of the analysis and derivations. Additionally, the impact of system parameters on jitter is analyzed to gain further insights.

Blockchain-Enabled Variational Information Bottleneck for IoT Networks

In Internet of Things (IoT) networks, the amount of data sensed by user devices may be huge, resulting in the serious network congestion. To solve this problem, intelligent data compression is critical. The variational information bottleneck (VIB) approach, combined with machine learning, can be employed to train the encoder and decoder, so that the required transmission data size can be reduced significantly. However, VIB suffers from the computing burden and network insecurity. In this paper, we propose a blockchain-enabled VIB (BVIB) approach to relieve the computing burden while guaranteeing network security. Extensive simulations conducted by Python and C++ demonstrate that BVIB outperforms VIB by 36%, 22% and 57% in terms of time and CPU cycles cost, mutual information, and accuracy under attack, respectively.

A Model-Driven Deep Learning Method for Massive MIMO Detection

In this paper, an efficient massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) detector is proposed by employing a deep neural network (DNN). Specifically, we first unfold an existing iterative detection algorithm into the DNN structure, such that the detection task can be implemented by deep learning (DL) approach. We then introduce two auxiliary parameters at each layer to better cancel multiuser interference (MUI). The first parameter is to generate the residual error vector while the second one is to adjust the relationship among previous layers. We further design the training procedure to optimize the auxiliary parameters with pre-processed inputs. The so derived MIMO detector falls into the category of model-driven DL. The simulation results show that the proposed MIMO detector can achieve preferable detection performance compared to the existing detectors for massive MIMO systems.

Robust Beamforming for Physical Layer Security in BDMA Massive MIMO

In this paper, we design robust beamforming to guarantee the physical layer security for a multiuser beam division multiple access (BDMA) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, when the channel estimation errors are taken into consideration. With the aid of artificial noise (AN), the proposed design are formulated as minimizing the transmit power of the base station (BS), while providing legal users and the eavesdropper (Eve) with different signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR). It is strictly proved that, under BDMA massive MIMO scheme, the initial non-convex optimization can be equivalently converted to a convex semi-definite programming (SDP) problem and the optimal rank-one beamforming solutions can be guaranteed. In stead of directly resorting to the convex tool, we make one step further by deriving the optimal beamforming direction and the optimal beamforming power allocation in closed-form, which greatly reduces the computational complexity and makes the proposed design practical for real world applications. Simulation results are then provided to verify the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

High velocity bipolar outflow and disk-like envelope in the carbon star V Hya

Using the partially completed Submillimeter Array with five antennas, we have observed the CO J=2-1 and 3-2 emission from the envelope surrounding the carbon star V Hya. The high-angular resolution (2"-4") maps show that V Hya is powering a bipolar molecular jet having an extreme velocity of 70-185 km/s. The axis of this high velocity jet is perpendicular to the major axis of the flattened disk-like envelope, which is expanding with a velocity of ~16 km/s.There is a third kinematic component, a medium-velocity wind having a deprojected velocity of 40-120 km/s moving along the disk plane. Both the high velocity jet and the medium velocity wind have a dynamical time scale of a few hundred years. The flattened structure and the collimated jet observed in V Hya suggests that the formation of asymmetrical structure proceeds while the central star is still in the AGB phase
