Spin conductivity of the XXZ chain in the antiferromagnetic massive regime

We present a series representation for the dynamical two-point function of the local spin current for the XXZ chain in the antiferromagnetic massive regime at zero temperature. From this series we can compute the correlation function with very high accuracy up to very long times and large distances. Each term in the series corresponds to the contribution of all scattering states of an even number of excitations. These excitations can be interpreted in terms of an equal number of particles and holes. The lowest term in the series comprises all scattering states of one hole and one particle. This term determines the long-time large-distance asymptotic behaviour which can be obtained explicitly from a saddle-point analysis. The space-time Fourier transform of the two-point function of currents at zero momentum gives the optical spin conductivity of the model. We obtain highly accurate numerical estimates for this quantity by numerically Fourier transforming our data. For the one-particle, one-hole contribution, equivalently interpreted as a two-spinon contribution, we obtain an exact and explicit expression in terms of known special functions. For large enough anisotropy, the two-spinon contribution carries most of the spectral weight, as can be seen by calculating the f-sum rule.

Exact real-time longitudinal correlation functions of the massive XXZ chain

We apply the recently developed thermal form factor expansion method to evaluate the real-time longitudinal spin-spin correlation functions of the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ XXZ chain in the antiferromagnetically ordered regime at temperature $T=0$. An analytical result containing all types of excitations in the model is obtained, without any approximations. This allows for the accurate calculation of the real-time correlation functions in this strongly interacting quantum system for arbitrary distances and times.

A thermal form factor series for the longitudinal two-point function of the Heisenberg-Ising chain in the antiferromagnetic massive regime

We consider the longitudinal dynamical two-point function of the XXZ quantum spin chain in the antiferromagnetic massive regime. It has a series representation based on the form factors of the quantum transfer matrix of the model. The $n$th summand of the series is a multiple integral accounting for all $n$-particle $n$-hole excitations of the quantum transfer matrix. In previous works the expressions for the form factor amplitudes appearing under the integrals were either again represented as multiple integrals or in terms of Fredholm determinants. Here we obtain a representation which reduces, in the zero-temperature limit, essentially to a product of two determinants of finite matrices whose entries are known special functions. This will facilitate the further analysis of the correlation function.

Thermal form-factor approach to dynamical correlation functions of integrable lattice models

We propose a method for calculating dynamical correlation functions at finite temperature in integrable lattice models of Yang-Baxter type. The method is based on an expansion of the correlation functions as a series over matrix elements of a time-dependent quantum transfer matrix rather than the Hamiltonian. In the infinite Trotter-number limit the matrix elements become time independent and turn into the thermal form factors studied previously in the context of static correlation functions. We make this explicit with the example of the XXZ model. We show how the form factors can be summed utilizing certain auxiliary functions solving finite sets of nonlinear integral equations. The case of the XX model is worked out in more detail leading to a novel form-factor series representation of the dynamical transverse two-point function.

High-temperature analysis of the transverse dynamical two-point correlation function of the XX quantum-spin chain

We analyse the transverse dynamical two-point correlation function of the XX chain by means of a thermal form factor series. The series is rewritten in terms of the resolvent and the Fredholm determinant of an integrable integral operator. This connects it with a matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem. We express the correlation function in terms of the solution of the matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem. The matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem is then solved asymptotically in the high-temperature limit. This allows us to obtain the leading high-temperature contribution to the two-point correlation function at any fixed space-time separation.

Equilibrium dynamics of the XX chain

The equilibrium dynamics of the spin-1/2 XX chain is re-examined within a recently developed formalism based on the quantum transfer matrix and a thermal form factor expansion. The transversal correlation function is evaluated in real time and space. The high-accuracy calculation reproduces several exact results in limiting cases as well as the well-known asymptotic formulas obtained by the matrix Riemann-Hilbert approach. Furthermore, comparisons to numerical data based on a direct evaluation of the Pfaffian as well as to asymptotic formulas obtained within non-linear Luttinger liquid theory are presented.

Late-time large-distance asymptotics of the transverse correlation functions of the XX chain in the space-like regime

We derive an explicit expression for the leading term in the late-time, large-distance asymptotic expansion of a transverse dynamical two-point function of the XX chain in the spacelike regime. This expression is valid for all non-zero finite temperatures and for all magnetic fields below the saturation threshold. It is obtained here by means of a straightforward term-by-term analysis of a thermal form factor series, derived in previous work, and demonstrates the usefulness of the latter.

Thermodynamics of the spin-$1/2$ Heisenberg-Ising chain at high temperatures: a rigorous approach

This work develops a rigorous setting allowing one to prove several features related to the behaviour of the Heisenberg-Ising (or XXZ) spin-$1/2$ chain at finite temperature $T$. Within the quantum inverse scattering method the physically pertinent observables at finite $T$, such as the \textit{per}-site free energy or the correlation length, have been argued to admit integral representations whose integrands are expressed in terms of solutions to auxiliary non-linear integral equations. The derivation of such representations was based on numerous conjectures: the possibility to exchange the infinite volume and the infinite Trotter number limits, the existence of a real, non-degenerate, maximal in modulus Eigenvalue of the quantum transfer matrix, the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the auxiliary non-linear integral equations, as well as the possibility to take the infinite Trotter number limit on their level. We rigorously prove all these conjectures for temperatures large enough. As a by product of our analysis, we obtain the large-$T$ asymptotic expansion for a subset of sub-dominant Eigenvalues of the quantum transfer matrix and thus of the associated correlation lengths. This result was never obtained previously, not even on heuristic grounds.

MHV amplitudes at strong coupling and linearized TBA equations

The maximally helicity violating (MHV) amplitudes of ${\cal N} =4$ super Yang-Mills theory at strong coupling are obtained by solving auxiliary thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) integral equations. We consider a limit where the TBA equations are linearized for large chemical potentials and masses therein. By solving the linearized equations, we derive analytic expansions of the 6-point MHV amplitudes in terms of the ratio of the chemical potential $A$ and the mass $M$. The expansions are valid up to corrections exponentially small in $A$ or inversely proportional to powers of $A$. The analytic expansions describe the amplitudes for small conformal cross-ratios of the particle momenta in a standard basis, and interpolate the amplitudes with equal cross-ratios and those in soft/collinear limits. The leading power corrections are also obtained analytically. We compare the 6-point rescaled remainder functions at strong coupling and at 2 loops for the above kinematics. They are rather different, in contrast to other kinematic regions discussed in the literature where they are found to be similar to each other.

Analytic Bethe Ansatz for Fundamental Representations of Yangians

We study the analytic Bethe ansatz in solvable vertex models associated with the Yangian $Y(X_r)$ or its quantum affine analogue $U_q(X^{(1)}_r)$ for $X_r = B_r, C_r$ and $D_r$. Eigenvalue formulas are proposed for the transfer matrices related to all the fundamental representations of $Y(X_r)$. Under the Bethe ansatz equation, we explicitly prove that they are pole-free, a crucial property in the ansatz. Conjectures are also given on higher representation cases by applying the $T$-system, the transfer matrix functional relations proposed recently. The eigenvalues are neatly described in terms of Yangian analogues of the semi-standard Young tableaux.

Thermal form factor approach to the ground-state correlation functions of the XXZ chain in the antiferromagnetic massive regime

We use the form factors of the quantum transfer matrix in the zero-temperature limit in order to study the two-point ground-state correlation functions of the XXZ chain in the antiferromagnetic massive regime. We obtain novel form factor series representations of the correlation functions which differ from those derived either from the q-vertex-operator approach or from the algebraic Bethe Ansatz approach to the usual transfer matrix. We advocate that our novel representations are numerically more efficient and allow for a straightforward calculation of the large-distance asymptotic behaviour of the two-point functions. Keeping control over the temperature corrections to the two-point functions we see that these are of order $T^\infty$ in the whole antiferromagnetic massive regime. The isotropic limit of our result yields a novel form factor series representation for the two-point correlation functions of the XXX chain at zero magnetic field.

Asymptotics of correlation functions of the Heisenberg-Ising chain in the easy-axis regime

We analyze the long-time large-distance asymptotics of the longitudinal correlation functions of the Heisenberg-Ising chain in the easy-axis regime. We show that in this regime the leading asymptotics of the dynamical two-point functions is entirely determined by the two-spinon contribution to their form factor expansion. Its explicit form is obtained from a saddle-point analysis of the corresponding double integral. It describes the propagation of a wave front with velocity $v_{c_1}$ which is found to be the maximal possible group velocity. Like in wave propagation in dispersive media the wave front is preceded by a precursor running ahead with velocity $v_{c_2}$. As a special case we obtain the explicit form of the asymptotics of the auto-correlation function.

Low-temperature spectrum of correlation lengths of the XXZ chain in the antiferromagnetic massive regime

We consider the spectrum of correlation lengths of the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ XXZ chain in the antiferromagnetic massive regime. These are given as ratios of eigenvalues of the quantum transfer matrix of the model. The eigenvalues are determined by integrals over certain auxiliary functions and by their zeros. The auxiliary functions satisfy nonlinear integral equations. We analyse these nonlinear integral equations in the low-temperature limit. In this limit we can determine the auxiliary functions and the expressions for the eigenvalues as functions of a finite number of parameters which satisfy finite sets of algebraic equations, the so-called higher-level Bethe Ansatz equations. The behaviour of these equations, if we send the temperature $T$ to zero, is different for zero and non-zero magnetic field $h$. If $h$ is zero the situation is much like in the case of the usual transfer matrix. Non-trivial higher-level Bethe Ansatz equations remain which determine certain complex excitation parameters as functions of hole parameters which are free on a line segment in the complex plane. If $h$ is non-zero, on the other hand, a remarkable restructuring occurs, and all parameters which enter the description of the quantum transfer matrix eigenvalues can be interpreted entirely in terms of particles and holes which are freely located on two curves when $T$ goes to zero.

Elementary functions in Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz

Some years ago, Fendley found an explicit solution to Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz (TBA) equation for a N=2 supersymmetric theory in 2D with a specific F-term. Motivated by this, we seek for explicit solutions for other super-potential cases utilizing the idea from the ODE/IM correspondence. We find that TBA equations, corresponding to a wider class of super-potentials, admit solutions in terms of elementary functions such as modified Bessel functions and confluent hyper-geometric series.

Quantum Wronskian approach to six-point gluon scattering amplitudes at strong coupling

We study the six-point gluon scattering amplitudes in N=4 super Yang-Mills theory at strong coupling based on the twisted Z_4-symmetric integrable model. The lattice regularization allows us to derive the associated thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) equations as well as the functional relations among the Q-/T-/Y-functions. The quantum Wronskian relation for the Q-/T-functions plays an important role in determining a series of the expansion coefficients of the T-/Y-functions around the UV limit, including the dependence on the twist parameter. Studying the CFT limit of the TBA equations, we derive the leading analytic expansion of the remainder function for the general kinematics around the limit where the dual Wilson loops become regular-polygonal. We also compare the rescaled remainder functions at strong coupling with those at two, three and four loops, and find that they are close to each other along the trajectories parameterized by the scale parameter of the integrable model.

Correlation functions of the integrable isotropic spin-1 chain: algebraic expressions for arbitrary temperature

We derive algebraic formulas for the density matrices of finite segments of the integrable su(2) isotropic spin-1 chain in the thermodynamic limit. We give explicit results for the 2 and 3 site cases for arbitrary temperature T and zero field. In the zero temperature limit the correlation functions are given in elementary form in terms of Riemann's zeta function at even integer arguments.
