A Novel Graph Fraud Detector via Grouped Attribute Completion and Confidence-Aware Contrastive Learning

Graph fraud detection plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the security and integrity of modern digital ecosystems. Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) are commonly adopted for graph fraud detection. However, the practical performance of existing GNN-based detectors is severely hindered by incomplete node attributes and extreme class imbalance within graphs. To mitigate these limitations, this paper proposes a novel framework for Graph Fraud Detection with Grouped attribute completion and Confidence-aware Contrastive learning, named GFD-GC. Specifically, it first imitates heterogeneous neighborhood structures to implement group-wise aggregation, which obtains informative complete node features by capturing fine-grained graph contextual patterns. Further, it introduces a confidence-aware supervised contrastive learning strategy to augment scarce labeled fraud nodes with high confidence pseudo-fraud nodes, which enhances the compactness of fraud representations and their separability from non-fraud nodes. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of the proposed GFD-GC over state-of-the-art baselines on the graph fraud detection task, thereby providing an effective solution for real-world fraud scenarios.

FGC-Comp: Adaptive Neighbor-Grouped Attribute Completion for Graph-based Anomaly Detection

Graph-based Anomaly Detection models have gained widespread adoption in recent years, identifying suspicious nodes by aggregating neighborhood information. However, most existing studies overlook the pervasive issues of missing and adversarially obscured node attributes, which can undermine aggregation stability and prediction reliability. To mitigate this, we propose FGC-Comp, a lightweight, classifier-agnostic, and deployment-friendly attribute completion module-designed to enhance neighborhood aggregation under incomplete attributes. We partition each node's neighbors into three label-based groups, apply group-specific transforms to the labeled groups while a node-conditioned gate handles unknowns, fuse messages via residual connections, and train end-to-end with a binary classification objective to improve aggregation stability and prediction reliability under missing attributes. Experiments on two real-world fraud datasets validate the effectiveness of the approach with negligible computational overhead.

Spin-dependent localization of helical edge states in a non-Hermitian phononic crystal

As a distinctive feature unique to non-Hermitian systems, non-Hermitian skin effect displays fruitful exotic phenomena in one or higher dimensions, especially when conventional topological phases are involved. Among them, hybrid skin-topological effect is theoretically proposed recently, which exhibits anomalous localization of topological boundary states at lower-dimensional boundaries accompanied by extended bulk states. Here we experimentally realize the hybrid skin-topological effect in a non-Hermitian phononic crystal. The phononic crystal, before tuning to be non-Hermitian, is an ideal acoustic realization of the Kane-Mele model, which hosts gapless helical edge states at the boundaries. By introducing a staggered distribution of loss, the spin-dependent edge modes pile up to opposite corners, leading to a direct observation of the spin-dependent hybrid skin-topological effect. Our work highlights the interplay between topology and non-Hermiticity and opens new routes to non-Hermitian wave manipulations.
