Some results for semi-stable radial solutions of $k$-Hessian equations

We devote this paper to study semi-stable nonconstant radial solutions of $S_k(D^2u) = w(|x|)g(u)$ on the Euclidean space $R^n$. We establish pointwise estimates and necessary conditions for the existence of such solutions (not necessarily bounded) for this equation. For bounded solutions we estimate their asymptotic behavior at infinity. All the estimates are given in terms of the spatial dimension $n$, the values of $k$ and the behavior at infinity of the growth rate function of $w$.

Multiplicity of bounded solutions to the $k$-Hessian equation with a Matukuma-type source

The aim of this paper is to deal with the $k$-Hessian counterpart of the Laplace equation involving a nonlinearity studied by Matukuma. Namely, our model is the problem \begin{equation*} (1)\;\;\;\begin{cases} S_k(D^2u)= λ\frac{|x|^{μ-2}}{(1+|x|^2)^{\fracμ{2}}} (1-u)^q &\mbox{in }\;\; B,\\ u <0 & \mbox{in }\;\; B,\\ u=0 &\mbox{on }\partial B, \end{cases} \end{equation*} where $B$ denotes the unit ball in $\mathbb{R}^n,n>2k$ ($k\in\mathbb{N}$), $λ>0$ is an additional parameter, $q>k$ and $μ\geq 2$. In this setting, through a transformation recently introduced by two of the authors that reduces problem (1) to a non-autonomous two-dimensional generalized Lotka-Volterra system, we prove the existence and multiplicity of solutions for the above problem combining dynamical-systems tools, the intersection number between a regular and a singular solution and the super and subsolution method.

Radially bounded solutions of a $k$-Hessian equation involving a weighted nonlinear source

We consider the problem \begin{equation}(1)\;\;\; \begin{cases} S_k(D^2u)= λ|x|^σ (1-u)^q &\mbox{in }\;\; B,\\ u <0 & \mbox{in }\;\; B,\\ u=0 &\mbox{on }\partial B, \end{cases} \end{equation} where $B$ denotes the unit ball in $\mathbb{R}^n$, $n>2k$ ($k\in \mathbb{N}$), $λ>0$, $q > k$ and $σ\geq 0$. We study the existence, uniqueness and multiplicity of negative bounded radially symmetric solutions of (1). The methodology to obtain our results is based on a dynamical system approach. For this, we introduce a new transformation which reduces problem (1) to an autonomous two dimensional generalized Lotka-Volterra system.
