LaGen: Towards Autoregressive LiDAR Scene Generation

Generative world models for autonomous driving (AD) are of great value in applications such as data augmentation, closed-loop simulation, and safety-critical scenario evaluation. Unlike the widely studied image modality, in this work we explore generative world models for LiDAR data. Existing generation methods for LiDAR predominantly focus on single frame generation or lack the capacity for interactive simulation, while existing prediction approaches require multiple frames of historical input and can only deterministically predict multiple frames at once. Both paradigms fail to support long-horizon interactive generation. To this end, we introduce \textbf{LaGen}, which, to the best of our knowledge is the first autoregressive framework capable of generating long-horizon LiDAR scenes in a frame-by-frame, interactive manner. LaGen is able to take a single-frame input as a starting point and effectively utilize bounding box information as conditions to generate high-fidelity 4D scene. In addition, we introduce a scene decoupling estimation module to enhance the model's interactive generation capability for object-level content, as well as a noise modulation module to mitigate error accumulation during long-horizon generation. We extensively evaluate LaGen's performance in controlled data generation and long-horizon scene generation on the nuScenes dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that LaGen achieves state-of-the-art performance, especially on later frames. The code is publicly available at: https://github.com/szzhou88/LaGen.

SparseLGS: Sparse View Language Embedded Gaussian Splatting

Recently, several studies have combined Gaussian Splatting to obtain scene representations with language embeddings for open-vocabulary 3D scene understanding. While these methods perform well, they essentially require very dense multi-view inputs, limiting their applicability in real-world scenarios. In this work, we propose SparseLGS to address the challenge of 3D scene understanding with pose-free and sparse view input images. Our method leverages a learning-based dense stereo model to handle pose-free and sparse inputs, and a three-step region matching approach to address the multi-view semantic inconsistency problem, which is especially important for sparse inputs. Different from directly learning high-dimensional CLIP features, we extract low-dimensional information and build bijections to avoid excessive learning and storage costs. We introduce a reconstruction loss during semantic training to improve Gaussian positions and shapes. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to address the 3D semantic field problem with sparse pose-free inputs. Experimental results show that SparseLGS achieves comparable quality when reconstructing semantic fields with fewer inputs (3-4 views) compared to previous SOTA methods with dense input. Besides, when using the same sparse input, SparseLGS leads significantly in quality and heavily improves the computation speed (5$\times$speedup). Project page: https://ustc3dv.github.io/SparseLGS

High-Fidelity 4D Hand-Object Capture via Multi-View Spatiotemporal Tracking and Physics-Aware Gaussians

The growing demand for high-fidelity 4D hand-object interaction (HOI) data in embodied AI and spatial computing is currently bottlenecked by the reliance on pre-scanned object templates and physical markers. While recent methods have demonstrated promising results in reconstructing 4D hand-object interaction from videos, they are highly sensitive to initial estimates of hand and object poses. Yet, estimating these poses from images is challenging, in particular under severe occlusion which is inherent in hand-object interaction scenarios. We propose a novel system for the robust and accurate reconstruction of hands and objects from synchronized and calibrated multi-view videos without requiring any templates or markers. Our system consists of two main components with key innovations: (1) a multi-view feed-forward transformer model that aggregates cross-view geometry and temporal cues to provide a reliable, metric-consistent initialization for both poses and dense object geometry, and (2) a hand-object physics-aware Gaussian-based optimization framework to refine the initial estimates, integrating tetrahedral constraints, collision refinement, and appearance decomposition to produce physically plausible and visually accurate reconstruction. Validated on public benchmarks and an extensive internal dataset, our pipeline achieves highly robust, artifact-free reconstruction, providing an efficient foundation for automated 4D asset generation. Distance Field Rasterization for End-to-End Mesh Reconstruction

Rasterization based methods have recently enabled high-quality novel view synthesis at real-time rates, but their underlying volumetric primitives do not expose a direct, globally consistent surface representation, leaving sur face extraction to heuristic post-processing. In contrast, implicit signed dis tance field (SDF) methods provide well-defined surfaces but are typically optimized with computationally expensive ray marching. We propose SD FRaster, a rasterizable SDF representation that bridges this gap by combin ing the efficiency of rasterization with signed distance field for end-to-end mesh reconstruction. Starting from a Delaunay tetrahedralization, we op timize a continuous SDF over a tetrahedral grid and render it efficiently by rasterizing tetrahedra and alpha-compositing their contributions. We further integrate differentiable Marching Tetrahedra into the optimization loop, enablingend-to-endmeshreconstructionwithoutpost-processingmesh extraction. Experiments on DTU and Tanks and Temples demonstrate that SDFRaster achieves higher-quality and more complete surface reconstruc tions with lower storage cost than state-of-the-art approaches. DualReg: Dual-Space Filtering and Reinforcement for Rigid Registration

Noisy, partially overlapping data and the need for real-time processing pose major challenges for rigid registration. Considering that feature-based matching can handle large transformation differences but suffers from limited accuracy, while local geometry-based matching can achieve fine-grained local alignment but relies heavily on a good initial transformation, we propose a novel dual-space paradigm to fully leverage the strengths of both approaches. First, we introduce an efficient filtering mechanism consisting of a computationally lightweight one-point RANSAC algorithm and a subsequent refinement module to eliminate unreliable feature-based correspondences. Subsequently, we treat the filtered correspondences as anchor points, extract geometric proxies, and formulate an effective objective function with a tailored solver to estimate the transformation. Experiments verify our method's effectiveness, as demonstrated by a 32x CPU-time speedup over MAC on KITTI with comparable accuracy. Project page: https://ustc3dv.github.io/DualReg/.

Double-Freeform Lens Design for Angular-Spatial Control of Light Fields

Precise simultaneous control of both angular and spatial light-field distributions remains a longstanding challenge in optical design, often requiring complex multi-element configurations. In this work, we propose a compact single-lens solution that achieves unified angular-spatial modulation through the co-optimization of double freeform surfaces. The problem is formulated as an extended caustic design that enforces prescribed irradiance patterns on two distinct receptive planes, where the dual-plane constraint implicitly defines the directional characteristics of the light field while preserving spatial accuracy. This framework eliminates the need for auxiliary optical components while delivering performance comparable to that of conventional multi-lens systems. Comprehensive numerical simulations verify the method's effectiveness, demonstrating accurate and stable control of both angular and spatial light-field properties. The proposed approach establishes a practical foundation for compact, high-performance optical systems and provides a promising route toward integrated angular-spatial light-field engineering.

ExpPortrait: Expressive Portrait Generation via Personalized Representation

While diffusion models have shown great potential in portrait generation, generating expressive, coherent, and controllable cinematic portrait videos remains a significant challenge. Existing intermediate signals for portrait generation, such as 2D landmarks and parametric models, have limited disentanglement capabilities and cannot express personalized details due to their sparse or low-rank representation. Therefore, existing methods based on these models struggle to accurately preserve subject identity and expressions, hindering the generation of highly expressive portrait videos. To overcome these limitations, we propose a high-fidelity personalized head representation that more effectively disentangles expression and identity. This representation captures both static, subject-specific global geometry and dynamic, expression-related details. Furthermore, we introduce an expression transfer module to achieve personalized transfer of head pose and expression details between different identities. We use this sophisticated and highly expressive head model as a conditional signal to train a diffusion transformer (DiT)-based generator to synthesize richly detailed portrait videos. Extensive experiments on self- and cross-reenactment tasks demonstrate that our method outperforms previous models in terms of identity preservation, expression accuracy, and temporal stability, particularly in capturing fine-grained details of complex motion.

GSwap: Realistic Head Swapping with Dynamic Neural Gaussian Field

We present GSwap, a novel consistent and realistic video head-swapping system empowered by dynamic neural Gaussian portrait priors, which significantly advances the state of the art in face and head replacement. Unlike previous methods that rely primarily on 2D generative models or 3D Morphable Face Models (3DMM), our approach overcomes their inherent limitations, including poor 3D consistency, unnatural facial expressions, and restricted synthesis quality. Moreover, existing techniques struggle with full head-swapping tasks due to insufficient holistic head modeling and ineffective background blending, often resulting in visible artifacts and misalignments. To address these challenges, GSwap introduces an intrinsic 3D Gaussian feature field embedded within a full-body SMPL-X surface, effectively elevating 2D portrait videos into a dynamic neural Gaussian field. This innovation ensures high-fidelity, 3D-consistent portrait rendering while preserving natural head-torso relationships and seamless motion dynamics. To facilitate training, we adapt a pretrained 2D portrait generative model to the source head domain using only a few reference images, enabling efficient domain adaptation. Furthermore, we propose a neural re-rendering strategy that harmoniously integrates the synthesized foreground with the original background, eliminating blending artifacts and enhancing realism. Extensive experiments demonstrate that GSwap surpasses existing methods in multiple aspects, including visual quality, temporal coherence, identity preservation, and 3D consistency.

Easy3E: Feed-Forward 3D Asset Editing via Rectified Voxel Flow

Existing 3D editing methods rely on computationally intensive scene-by-scene iterative optimization and suffer from multi-view inconsistency. We propose an effective and feed-forward 3D editing framework based on the TRELLIS generative backbone, capable of modifying 3D models from a single editing view. Our framework addresses two key issues: adapting training-free 2D editing to structured 3D representations, and overcoming the bottleneck of appearance fidelity in compressed 3D features. To ensure geometric consistency, we introduce Voxel FlowEdit, an edit-driven flow in the sparse voxel latent space that achieves globally consistent 3D deformation in a single pass. To restore high-fidelity details, we develop a normal-guided single to multi-view generation module as an external appearance prior, successfully recovering high-frequency textures. Experiments demonstrate that our method enables fast, globally consistent, and high-fidelity 3D model editing.

ProgressiveAvatars: Progressive Animatable 3D Gaussian Avatars

In practical real-time XR and telepresence applications, network and computing resources fluctuate frequently. Therefore, a progressive 3D representation is needed. To this end, we propose ProgressiveAvatars, a progressive avatar representation built on a hierarchy of 3D Gaussians grown by adaptive implicit subdivision on a template mesh. 3D Gaussians are defined in face-local coordinates to remain animatable under varying expressions and head motion across multiple detail levels. The hierarchy expands when screen-space signals indicate a lack of detail, allocating resources to important areas. Leveraging importance ranking, ProgressiveAvatars supports incremental loading and rendering, adding new Gaussians as they arrive while preserving previous content, thus achieving smooth quality improvements across varying bandwidths. ProgressiveAvatars enables progressive delivery and progressive rendering under fluctuating network bandwidth and varying compute and memory resources.

Computational Caustic Design for Surface Light Source

Designing freeform surfaces to control light based on real-world illumination patterns is challenging, as existing caustic lens designs often assume oversimplified point or parallel light sources. We propose representing surface light sources using an optimized set of point sources, whose parameters are fitted to the real light source's illumination using a novel differentiable rendering framework. Our physically-based rendering approach simulates light transmission using flux, without requiring prior knowledge of the light source's intensity distribution. To efficiently explore the light source parameter space during optimization, we apply a contraction mapping that converts the constrained problem into an unconstrained one. Using the optimized light source model, we then design the freeform lens shape considering flux consistency and normal integrability. Simulations and physical experiments show our method more accurately represents real surface light sources compared to point-source approximations, yielding caustic lenses that produce images closely matching the target light distributions.

Channel Knowledge Map Construction: Recent Advances and Open Challenges

Channel knowledge map (CKM) has emerged as a pivotal technology for environment-aware wireless communications and sensing, which provides a priori location-specific channel knowledge to facilitate network optimization. Efficient CKM construction is an important technical problem for its effective implementation. This article provides a comprehensive overview of recent advances in CKM construction. First, we examine classical interpolation-based CKM construction methods, highlighting their limitations in practical deployments. Next, we explore image processing and generative artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, which leverage feature extraction to construct CKMs based on environmental knowledge. Furthermore, we present emerging wireless radiance field (WRF) frameworks that exploit neural radiance fields or Gaussian splatting to construct high-fidelity CKMs from sparse measurement data. Finally, we outline various future research directions in real-time and cross-domain CKM construction, as well as cost-efficient deployment of CKMs.

6D Channel Knowledge Map Construction via Bidirectional Wireless Gaussian Splatting

This paper investigates the construction of channel knowledge map (CKM) from sparse channel measurements. Dif ferent from conventional two-/three-dimensional (2D/3D) CKM approaches assuming fixed base station configurations, we present a six-dimensional (6D) CKM framework named bidirectional wireless Gaussian splatting (BiWGS), which is capable of mod eling wireless channels across dynamic transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) positions in 3D space. BiWGS uses Gaussian el lipsoids to represent virtual scatterer clusters and environmental obstacles in the wireless environment. By properly learning the bidirectional scattering patterns and complex attenuation profiles based on channel measurements, these ellipsoids inherently cap ture the electromagnetic transmission characteristics of wireless environments, thereby accurately modeling signal transmission under varying transceiver configurations. Experiment results show that BiWGS significantly outperforms classic multi-layer perception (MLP) for the construction of 6D channel power gain map with varying Tx-Rx positions, and achieves spatial spectrum prediction accuracy comparable to the state-of-the art wireless radiation field Gaussian splatting (WRF-GS) for 3D CKM construction. This validates the capability of the proposed BiWGS in accomplishing dimensional expansion of 6D CKM construction, without compromising fidelity.

Probing the cosmological 21~cm global signal from the Antarctic ice sheet

The redshifted 21 cm line, arising from neutral hydrogen, offers a unique probe into the intergalactic medium and the first stars and galaxies formed in the early universe. However, detecting this signal is a challenging task because of artificial radio-frequency interference (RFI) and systematic errors such as ground effects. The interior of the Antarctic continent provides an excellent location to make such observations, with minimal RFI and relatively stable foreground signals. Moreover, a flat plateau in central Antarctica, with an ice cap over 2000 m deep, will show less ground reflection of radio waves, reducing the signal complexity in the area around the probing antenna. It may be advantageous to perform cosmological 21 cm experiments in Antarctica, and a 21 cm Antarctic global spectrum experiment can potentially be deployed on the Antarctic ice cap. We have performed preliminary instrumental design, system calibration, and implementation of such an instrument optimized for extreme cold and capable of long-term autonomous operation. This system shows the ability to effectively detect the 21~cm signal, confirming Antarctica as an excellent observational site for radio cosmology.

Joint Deblurring and 3D Reconstruction for Macrophotography

Macro lens has the advantages of high resolution and large magnification, and 3D modeling of small and detailed objects can provide richer information. However, defocus blur in macrophotography is a long-standing problem that heavily hinders the clear imaging of the captured objects and high-quality 3D reconstruction of them. Traditional image deblurring methods require a large number of images and annotations, and there is currently no multi-view 3D reconstruction method for macrophotography. In this work, we propose a joint deblurring and 3D reconstruction method for macrophotography. Starting from multi-view blurry images captured, we jointly optimize the clear 3D model of the object and the defocus blur kernel of each pixel. The entire framework adopts a differentiable rendering method to self-supervise the optimization of the 3D model and the defocus blur kernel. Extensive experiments show that from a small number of multi-view images, our proposed method can not only achieve high-quality image deblurring but also recover high-fidelity 3D appearance.

SPARE: Symmetrized Point-to-Plane Distance for Robust Non-Rigid 3D Registration

Existing optimization-based methods for non-rigid registration typically minimize an alignment error metric based on the point-to-point or point-to-plane distance between corresponding point pairs on the source surface and target surface. However, these metrics can result in slow convergence or a loss of detail. In this paper, we propose SPARE, a novel formulation that utilizes a symmetrized point-to-plane distance for robust non-rigid registration. The symmetrized point-to-plane distance relies on both the positions and normals of the corresponding points, resulting in a more accurate approximation of the underlying geometry and can achieve higher accuracy than existing methods. To solve this optimization problem efficiently, we introduce an as-rigid-as-possible regulation term to estimate the deformed normals and propose an alternating minimization solver using a majorization-minimization strategy. Moreover, for effective initialization of the solver, we incorporate a deformation graph-based coarse alignment that improves registration quality and efficiency. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method greatly improves the accuracy of non-rigid registration problems and maintains relatively high solution efficiency. The code is publicly available at https://github.com/yaoyx689/spare.

Neural Shadow Art

Shadow art is a captivating form of sculptural expression where the projection of a sculpture in a specific direction reveals a desired shape with high precision. In this work, we introduce Neural Shadow Art, which leverages implicit occupancy function representation to significantly expand the possibilities of shadow art. This representation enables the design of high-quality, 3D-printable geometric models with arbitrary topologies at any resolution, surpassing previous voxel- and mesh-based methods. Our method provides a more flexible framework, enabling projections to match input binary images under various light directions and screen orientations, without requiring light sources to be perpendicular to the screens. Furthermore, we allow rigid transformations of the projected geometries relative to the input binary images and simultaneously optimize light directions and screen orientations to ensure that the projections closely resemble the target images, especially when dealing with inputs of complex topologies. In addition, our model promotes surface smoothness and reduces material usage. This is particularly advantageous for efficient industrial production and enhanced artistic effect by generating compelling shadow art that avoids trivial, intersecting cylindrical structures. In summary, we propose a more flexible representation for shadow art, significantly improving projection accuracy while simultaneously meeting industrial requirements and delivering awe-inspiring artistic effects.

Shape from Semantics: 3D Shape Generation from Multi-View Semantics

Existing 3D reconstruction methods utilize guidances such as 2D images, 3D point clouds, shape contours and single semantics to recover the 3D surface, which limits the creative exploration of 3D modeling. In this paper, we propose a novel 3D modeling task called ``Shape from Semantics'', which aims to create 3D models whose geometry and appearance are consistent with the given text semantics when viewed from different views. The reconstructed 3D models incorporate more than one semantic elements and are easy for observers to distinguish. We adopt generative models as priors and disentangle the connection between geometry and appearance to solve this challenging problem. Specifically, we propose Local Geometry-Aware Distillation (LGAD), a strategy that employs multi-view normal-depth diffusion priors to complete partial geometries, ensuring realistic shape generation. We also integrate view-adaptive guidance scales to enable smooth semantic transitions across views. For appearance modeling, we adopt physically based rendering to generate high-quality material properties, which are subsequently baked into fabricable meshes. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our method can generate meshes with well-structured, intricately detailed geometries, coherent textures, and smooth transitions, resulting in visually appealing 3D shape designs.
