Hidden $SL_2(\mathbb{Z})$-symmetry in $BC_l^{(2)}$

A well-known \(\Gamma_\theta\)-action on the characters of integrable highest weight modules over the affine Lie algebra of type \(BC_l^{(2)}\) at a positive level is extended to an \(\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})\)-action at a positive even level by supplementing their twisted characters.

Macdonald Identities: revisited

In this note, after recalling a proof of the Macdonald identities for untwisted affine root systems, we derive the Macdonald identities for twisted affine root systems.

Classification of marked elliptic root systems with non-reduced quotient

K. Saito (Publ. RIMS 21 (1), 1985, 75-179) has introduced a class of root systems called elliptic root systems which lies in the real vector space $F$ with a metric $I$ whose signature is of type $(l,2,0)$. He also classified the pair $(R,G)$ of an elliptic root system $R$ with one dimensional subspace $G$ of the radical of $I$, under the assumption that the quotient root system $R/G$ is reduced. Here, we classify the pairs $(R,G)$ where $R/G$ is non-reduced.

Classification of marked elliptic root systems with non-reduced affine quotient

The class of root systems, called elliptic root systems, were introduced in 1985 by K. Saito, for his studies on a normal surface singularity which contains a regular elliptic curve in its minimal resolution. He also classified such root systems when they admit a reduced affine quotient, as root system. In this note, we provide the classification of elliptic root systems that admit a non-reduced affine quotient, thus complete the classification of such root systems.

Homology of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}(\infty,R)$

In this note we compute the homology of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}(\infty,R)$ where $R$ is an associative unital $k$-algebra which is used in higher dimensional soliton theory. When $k$ is a field of characteristic $0$, our result justifies an old result of Feigin and Tsygan appeared in 1983. The special case when $R=k$ is the complex number field $\mathbb{C}$ appeared first in soliton theory.

Temperley-Lieb at roots of unity, a fusion category and the Jones quotient

When the parameter $q$ is a root of unity, the Temperley-Lieb algebra $TL_n(q)$ is non-semisimple for almost all $n$. In this work, using cellular methods, we give explicit generating functions for the dimensions of all the simple $TL_n(q)$-modules. Jones showed that if the order $|q^2|=\ell$ there is a canonical symmetric bilinear form on $TL_n(q)$, whose radical $R_n(q)$ is generated by a certain idempotent $E_\ell\in TL_{\ell-1}(q)\subseteq TL_n(q)$, which is now referred to as the Jones-Wenzl idempotent, for which an explicit formula was subsequently given by Graham and Lehrer. Although the algebras $Q_n(\ell):=TL_n(q)/R_n(q)$, which we refer to as the Jones algebras (or quotients), are not the largest semisimple quotients of the $TL_n(q)$, our results include dimension formulae for all the simple $Q_n(\ell)$-modules. This work could therefore be thought of as generalising that of Jones et al. on the algebras $Q_n(\ell)$. We also treat a fusion category $\mathcal{C}_{\rm red}$ introduced by Reshitikhin, Turaev and Andersen, whose objects are the quantum $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-tilting modules with non-zero quantum dimension, and which has an associative truncated tensor product (the fusion product). We show $Q_n(\ell)$ is the endomorphism algebra of a certain module in $\mathcal{C}_{\rm red}$ and use this fact to recover a dimension formula for $Q_n(\ell)$. We also show how to construct a "stable limit" $K(Q_\infty)$ of the corresponding fusion category of the $Q_n(\ell)$, whose structure is determined by the fusion rule of $\mathcal{C}_{\rm red}$, and observe a connection with a fusion category of affine $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ and the Virosoro algebra.

The Jones quotients of the Temperley-Lieb algebras

When the parameter $q$ is a root of unity, the Temperley-Lieb algebra $TL_n(q)$ is non-semisimple for almost all $n$. Jones showed that there is a canonical symmetric bilinear form on $TL_n(q)$, whose radical $R_n(q)$ is generated by a certain idempotent $E_\ell\in TL_{\ell-1}(q)\subseteq TL_n(q)$, which is now referred to as the Jones-Wenzl idempotent, for which an explicit formula was subsequently given by Graham and Lehrer. In this work, we study the quotients $Q_n(\ell):=TL_n(q)/R_n(q)$, where $|q^2|=\ell$, which are precisely the algebras generated by Jones' projections. We give the dimensions of their simple modules, as well as $\dim(Q_n(\ell))$; en route we give generating functions and recursions for the dimensions of cell modules and associated combinatorics. When the order $|q^2|=4$, we obtain an isomorphism of $Q_n(\ell)$ with the even part of the Clifford algebra, well known to physicists through the Ising model. When $|q^2|=5$, we obtain a sequence of algebras whose dimensions are the odd-indexed Fibonacci numbers. The general case is described explicitly.

Hirota bilinear forms with 2-toroidal symmetry

In this note, we compute Hirota bilinear forms arising from both homogeneous and principal realization of vertex representations of 2-toroidal Lie algebras of type $A_l, D_l, E_l$.

An elliptic quantum algebra for $\widehat{sl}_2$

An elliptic deformation of $\widehat{sl}_2$ is proposed. Our presentation of the algebra is based on the relation $RLL=LLR^*$, where $R$ and $R^*$ are eight-vertex $R$-matrices with the elliptic moduli chosen differently. In the trigonometric limit, this algebra reduces to a quotient of that proposed by Reshetikhin and Semenov-Tian-Shansky. Conjectures concerning highest weight modules and vertex operators are formulated, and the physical interpretation of $R^*$ is discussed.

Notes on highest weight modules of the elliptic algebra ${\cal A}_{q,p}\left(\widehat{sl}_2\right)$

We discuss a construction of highest weight modules for the recently defined elliptic algebra ${\cal A}_{q,p}(\widehat{sl}_2)$, and make several conjectures concerning them. The modules are generated by the action of the components of the operator $L$ on the highest weight vectors. We introduce the vertex operators $Φ$ and $Ψ^*$ through their commutation relations with the $L$-operator. We present ordering rules for the $L$- and $Φ$-operators and find an upper bound for the number of linearly independent vectors generated by them, which agrees with the known characters of $\widehat{sl}_2$-modules.
