How can Ectrons be Accelerated by a Longitudinal Wake Field Excited in a Plasma

The possibility of charged particle acceleration by a longitudinal wake field excited in plasma by an electron bunch and a train of electron bunches. The exact solution of the stationary nonlinear self-consistent interaction of a monoenergetic relativistic bunch with cold plasma is obtained. It is shown that under certain conditions a self-acceleration of the bunch tail electrons up to high energies is possible.

Radiation of Channeled Positrons in Ultrasonic Wave

In the classical approximation, we examine the problem of radiation by channeled positrons in the field of a longitudinal ultrasonic wave when the condition of parametric resonance is satisfied. We show that in the case of planar channeling the intensity of the spectral distribution of the radiation can be several times larger than when the resonance condition is not satisfied.

Probability of Induced Emission in Atoms

Expression for the probability of induced emission of high-order harmonics is obtained in the region where the multiphoton approximation is applicable to the description of the ionization of an atom. The dependence of this probability on the main parameters of the pump wave and the atomic medium is established. Criteria for observing emission are formulated with the consideration of phase locking. The possibility of amplifying a UV probe wave aimed through the region where the atoms interact with the pump wave is considered.

Probability of Spontaneous Emission in Processes of the Above Threshold Ionization of Atoms

Expression for the probability of the spontaneous emission of high-order harmonics when the emitter phases are synchronized and are obtained in the region where the multiphoton approximation is applicable to the description of the ionization of an atom (where the adiabaticity parameter satisfies gamma > 1). The dependence of this probability on the main parameters of the pump wave and the atomic medium is established. Criteria for observing emission are formulated with the consideration of phase locking.

The Gain in the Field of Two Electromagnetic Waves

We consider the motion of a nonrelativistic electron in the field of two strong monochromatic light waves propagating counter to each other. The matrix elements of emission and absorption are found. An expression is obtained for the gain of a weak test wave by using such matrix elements.

The Influence of Two Strong Electromagnetic Waves on Electron

We consider the motion of a nonrelativistic electron in the field of two strong monochromatic light waves propagating counter to each other. The wave function of the electron is obtained by using a quasiclassical approximation and perturbation theory.

Growth Rates in Smith-Purcell FEL

In the framework of the earlier derived dispersion equation, we study induced Smith Purcell (SP) radiation of relativistic electron beam in the absence of a resonator. We offer a new method for calculation of coefficients for partial amplitudes in the case of rectangular grating. Using this method we calculate the growth rate of the SPFEL with a rectangular grating. The growth rate dependences on harmonic number, beam current, observation angle and relativistic factor are presented.
