CSCBench: A PVC Diagnostic Benchmark for Commodity Supply Chain Reasoning

Large Language Models (LLMs) have achieved remarkable success in general benchmarks, yet their competence in commodity supply chains (CSCs) -- a domain governed by institutional rule systems and feasibility constraints -- remains under-explored. CSC decisions are shaped jointly by process stages (e.g., planning, procurement, delivery), variety-specific rules (e.g., contract specifications and delivery grades), and reasoning depth (from retrieval to multi-step analysis and decision selection). We introduce CSCBench, a 2.3K+ single-choice benchmark for CSC reasoning, instantiated through our PVC 3D Evaluation Framework (Process, Variety, and Cognition). The Process axis aligns tasks with SCOR+Enable; the Variety axis operationalizes commodity-specific rule systems under coupled material-information-financial constraints, grounded in authoritative exchange guidebooks/rulebooks and industry reports; and the Cognition axis follows Bloom's revised taxonomy. Evaluating representative LLMs under a direct prompting setting, we observe strong performance on the Process and Cognition axes but substantial degradation on the Variety axis, especially on Freight Agreements. CSCBench provides a diagnostic yardstick for measuring and improving LLM capabilities in this high-stakes domain.

HardTaint: Production-Run Dynamic Taint Analysis via Selective Hardware Tracing

Dynamic taint analysis (DTA), as a fundamental analysis technique, is widely used in security, privacy, and diagnosis, etc. As DTA demands to collect and analyze massive taint data online, it suffers extremely high runtime overhead. Over the past decades, numerous attempts have been made to lower the overhead of DTA. Unfortunately, the reductions they achieved are marginal, causing DTA only applicable to the debugging/testing scenarios. In this paper, we propose and implement HardTaint, a system that can realize production-run dynamic taint tracking. HardTaint adopts a hybrid and systematic design which combines static analysis, selective hardware tracing and parallel graph processing techniques. The comprehensive evaluations demonstrate that HardTaint introduces only around 9% runtime overhead which is an order of magnitude lower than the state-of-the-arts, while without sacrificing any taint detection capability.

Spatiotemporal scaling of two-dimensional nonequilibrium exciton-polariton systems with weak interactions

We perform a numerical study on the two-dimensional nonequilibrium exciton-polariton systems driven by incoherent pumping based on the stochastic generalized Gross-Pitaevskii equation. We calculate the density fluctuation, coherence function, and scaling function. It is found that the correlations at short range agree with the Bogoliubov linear theory. While at large distance, both static and dynamic correlations are characterized by the nonlinear scaling behaviors of Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) universality class, especially when the interaction is weak. In this regime, scaling analyses are crucial to capture the universal KPZ scaling features. In addition, the interaction between vortices is modified in the strong KPZ regime and leads to complex nonequilibrium vortex patterns.

Suppression of heating in quantum spin clusters under periodic driving as a dynamic localization effect

We investigate numerically and analytically the heating process in ergodic clusters of interacting spins 1/2 subjected to periodic pulses of external magnetic field. Our findings indicate that there is a threshold for the pulse strength below which the heating is suppressed. This threshold decreases with the increase of the cluster size, approaching zero in the thermodynamic limit; yet it should be observable in clusters with fairly large Hilbert spaces. We obtain the above threshold quantitatively as a condition for the breakdown of the golden rule in the second-order perturbation theory. It is caused by the phenomenon of dynamic localization.

Kadec-Klee property for convergence in measure of noncommutative Orlicz spaces

In this paper, we study the Kadec-Klee property for convergence in measure of noncommutative Orlicz spaces $L_φ(\widetilde{\mathcal{M}},τ)$, where $\widetilde{\mathcal{M}}$ is a von Neumann algebra, and $φ$ is an Orlicz function. We show that if $φ\inΔ_{2}$, $L_φ(\widetilde{\mathcal{M}},τ)$ has the Kadec-Klee property in measure. As a corollary, the dual space and reflexivity of $L_φ(\widetilde{\mathcal{M}},τ)$ are given.

Spectral weight suppression in response functions of ultracold fermion-boson mixtures

We study the dynamical response of ultracold fermion-boson mixture in the Bogoliubov regime, where the interactions between fermionic impurities and bosonic excitations (phonons) are described by an effective Frohlich model under the Bogoliubov approximation. A characteristic suppression of the single-particle spectral weight is found in the small momentum region where the impurity band and phonon mode intersect. Using diagrammatic technique we compute the Bragg spectra as well as the momentum dependent force-force correlation function. We fnd that both of them are heavily affected by the spectral weight suppression effect at low impurity densities in both 1D and 2D systems. We show that the the spectral weight suppression feature in Bragg spectra, which was previously found in the quantum Monte Carlo simulations and which cannot be recovered by the random phase approximation, can be accurately reproduced with the help of vertex corrections.

Temporal coherence of one-dimensional non-equilibrium quantum fluids

We theoretically investigate the time dependence of the first order coherence function for a one-dimensional driven dissipative non-equilibrium condensate. Simulations on the generalized Gross-Pitaevskii equation (GGPE) show that the characteristic time scale of exponential decay agrees with the linearized Bogoliubov theory in the regime of large interaction energy. For very weak interactions, the temporal correlation deviates from the linear theory, and instead respects the dynamic scaling of the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang universality class. This nonlinear dynamics is found to be quantitatively captured by a noisy Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation for the phase dynamics.

Dynamical response of ultracold interacting fermion-boson mixtures

We analyze the dynamical response of a ultracold binary gas mixture in presence of strong boson-fermion couplings. Mapping the problem onto that of the optical response of a metal/semiconductor electronic degrees of freedom to electromagnetic perturbation we calculate the corresponding dynamic linear response susceptibility in the non-perturbative regimes of strong boson-fermion coupling using diagrammatic resummation technique as well as quantum Monte Carlo simulations. We evaluate the Bragg spectral function as well as the optical conductivity and find a pseudogap, which forms in certain parameter regimes.

The spatial coherence of weakly interacting one-dimensional non-equilibrium Bosonic quantum fluids

We present a theoretical analysis of spatial correlations in a one-dimensional driven-dissipative non-equilibrium condensate. Starting from a stochastic generalized Gross-Pitaevskii equation, we derive a noisy Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation for the phase dynamics. For sufficiently strong interactions, the coherence decays exponentially in close analogy to the equilibrium Bose gas. When interactions are small on a scale set by the nonequilibrium condition, we find through numerical simulations a crossover between a Gaussian and exponential decay with peculiar scaling of the coherence length on the fluid density and noise strength.

Non-thermal statistics in isolated quantum spin clusters after a series of perturbations

We show numerically that a finite isolated cluster of interacting spins 1/2 exhibits a surprising non-thermal statistics when subjected to a series of small non-adiabatic perturbations by external magnetic field. The resulting occupations of energy eigenstates are significantly higher than the thermal ones on both the low and the high ends of the energy spectra. This behavior semi-quantitatively agrees with the statistics predicted for the so-called "quantum micro-canonical" (QMC) ensemble, which includes all possible quantum superpositions with a given energy expectation value. Our findings also indicate that the eigenstates of the perturbation operators are generically localized in the energy basis of the unperturbed Hamiltonian. This kind of localization possibly protects the thermal behavior in the macroscopic limit.

Quantum Monte Carlo study on speckle variation due to photorelaxation of ferroelectric clusters in paraelectric barium titanate

Time-dependent speckle pattern of paraelectric barium titanate observed in a soft x-ray laser pump-probe measurement is theoretically investigated as a correlated optical response to the pump and probe pulses. The scattering probability is calculated based on a model with coupled soft x-ray photon and ferroelectric phonon mode. It is found that the speckle variation is related with the relaxation dynamics of ferroelectric clusters created by the pump pulse. Additionally, critical slowing down of cluster relaxation arises on decreasing temperature towards the paraelectric-ferroelectric transition temperature. Relation between critical slowing down, local dipole fluctuation and crystal structure are revealed by quantum Monte Carlo simulation.

Dynamics of ferroelectric nano cluster in BaTiO3 observed as a real time correlation between two soft X-ray laser pulses

We carry out a theoretical investigation to clarify the dynamic property of photo-created nano-sized ferroelectric cluster observed in the paraelectric BaTiO3 as a real time correlation of speckle pattern between two soft X-ray laser pulses, at just above the paraelectric-ferroelectric phase transition temperature. Based on a model with coupled soft X-ray photon and ferroelectric phonon mode, we study the time dependence of scattering probability by using a perturbative expansion approach. The cluster-associated phonon softening as well as central peak effects are well reproduced in the phonon spectral function via quantum Monte Carlo simulation. Besides, it is found that the time dependence of speckle correlation is determined by the relaxation dynamics of ferroelectric clusters. Near the transition point, cluster excitation is stable, leading to a long relaxation time. While, at high temperature, cluster structure is subject to the thermal fluctuation, ending up with a short relaxation time.

Novel theoretical approach in photoemission spectroscopy: application to isotope effect and boron-doped diamond

A new path-integral theory is developed to calculate the photoemission spectra (PES) of correlated many-electron systems. The application to the study on Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 (Bi2212) and boron-doped diamond (BDD) is discussed in details. It is found that the isotopic shift in the angle-resolved photoemission spectra of Bi2212 is due to the off-diagonal quadratic electron-phonon (e-ph) coupling, whereas the presence of electron-electron repulsion partially suppresses this effect. For the BDD, a semiconductor-metal phase transition, which is induced by increasing the e-ph coupling and dopant concentration, is reproduced by our theory. Additionally, the presence of Fermi edge and phonon step-like structure in PES is found to be due to a co-existence of itinerant and localized electronic states in BDD.

Theoretical study on isotopic shift in angle-resolved photoemission spectra of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8

We develop a path-integral theory to study the angle-resolved photoemission spectra (ARPES) of high-T_c superconductors based on a two-dimensional model for the CuO2 conduction plane, including both electron-electron (e-e) and electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions. Comparing our result with the experimental one of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8, we find that the experimentally observed isotopic band shift in ARPES is due to the off-diagonal quadratic e-ph coupling, whereas the presence of e-e repulsion partially suppresses this effect.

Isotopic shift in angle-resolved photoemission spectra of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 due to quadratic electron-phonon coupling

In connection with the experiment on oxygen isotope effect of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 with the angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), we theoretically study the isotope-induced band shift in ARPES by the Hartree-Fork and quantum Monte Carlo methods. We find that this band shift can be clarified based on a quadratically coupled electron-phonon (e-ph) model. The large ratio of band shift versus phonon energy change is connected with the softening effect of phonon, and the positive-negative sign change is due to the momentum dependence of the e-ph coupling.
