Stochastic Dilation of Symmetric Completely Positive Semigroups

This is a continuation of the study of the theory of quantum stochastic dilation of completely positive semigroups on a von Neumann or $C^*$ algebra, here with unbounded generators. The additional assumption of symmetry with respect to a semifinite trace allows the use of the Hilbert space techniques, while the covariance gives rise to better handle on domains. An Evans-Hudson flow is obtained, dilating the given semigroup.

Geometry on the Quantum Heisenberg Manifold

For the quantum Heisenberg manifolds, using the action of Heisenberg group we construct a family of spectral triples. It is shown that associated Kasparov module is same for all these spectral triples. Then we show that element is nontrivial by explicitly computing the pairing with a unitary. Space of forms as introduced by Connes are also computed. We characterize connections that are torsionless or unitary in the sense of Frohlich et.al. Then it is shown that a torsionless unitary connection cannot exist. For some unitary connections we compute Ricci curvature and scalar curvature. This produces examples of non-commutative manifolds with nonvanishing scalar curvature.

Probability and Geometry on some Noncommutative Manifolds

In a noncommutative torus, effect of perturbation by inner derivation on the associated quantum stochastic process and geometric parameters like volume and scalar curvature have been studied. Cohomological calculations show that the above perturbation produces new spectral triples. Also for the Weyl C^*-algebra, the Laplacian associated with a natural stochastic process is obtained and associated volume form is calculated. Keywords: noncommutative torus, Laplacian, Dixmier trace, quantum stochastic process.
