Propagation of Dirac spherical waves in the expanding universe

The explicit formulas for the spherical solutions of the Dirac equation in the expanding universe are given. The initial value of the solution can be, in particular, a wave function of the hydrogen-like atom or a spherical wave in the Minkowski space, that then propagates in the Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker space-time, which is expanding with the de~Sitter scale factor.

Spherical solutions to the Klein-Gordon equation in the expanding universe

We produce an explicit formula for the wave function of the spherically symmetric fields emitted to the FLRW universe with the scale factor generated by the de~Sitter universe. As an application of these explicitly written solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation, we test the decay in time of the field generated by a pionic atom.

Huygens' principle for the spin-1/2 particle in spacetime of non-constant curvature

In this article we give sufficient and necessary conditions for the validity of the Huygens' principle for the Dirac operator in the non-constant curvature spacetime of the Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker models of cosmology. The Huygens' principle discussed for the equation of a particle with mass $m=0$ as well as a massive spin-1/2 particle (field) undergoing a red shift of its wavelength as the universe expands.

The self-interacting Dirac fields in FLRW spacetime

We prove the existence of global in time solution with the small initial data for the semilinear equation of the spin-1/2 particles in the Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker spacetime. Moreover, we also prove that if the initial function satisfies the Lochak-Majorana condition, then the global solution exists for arbitrary large initial value. The solution scatters to free solution for large time. The mass term is assumed to be complex-valued. The conditions on the imaginary part of mass are discussed by proving nonexistence of the global solutions if certain relation between scale function and the mass are fulfilled.

Global in time self-interacting Dirac fields in the de Sitter space

In this paper the semilinear equation of the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ fields in the de Sitter space is investigated. We prove the existence of the global in time small data solution in the expanding de Sitter universe. Then, under the Lochak-Majorana condition, we prove the existence of the global in time solution with large data. The sufficient conditions for the solutions to blow up in finite time are given for large data in the expanding and contracting de Sitter spacetimes. The influence of the Hubble constant on the lifespan is estimated.

Fundamental solutions for the Dirac equation in curved spacetime and generalized Euler-Poisson-Darboux equation

We present the fundamental solutions for the spin-1/2 fields propagating in the spacetimes with power type expansion/contraction and the fundamental solution of the Cauchy problem for the Dirac equation. The derivation of these fundamental solutions is based on formulas for the solutions to the generalized Euler-Poisson-Darboux equation, which are obtained by the integral transform approach.

Huygens' principle for the generalized Dirac operator in curved spacetime

In this article we give sufficient conditions for the generalized Dirac operator to obey the incomplete Huygens principle, as well as necessary and sufficient conditions to obey the Huygens principle by the Dirac operator in the curved spacetime of the Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker models of cosmology.

Fundamental solutions of the Dirac operator in the Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker spacetime

The equation of the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ particles in the Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker spacetime is investigated. The retarded and advanced fundamental solutions to the Dirac operator and generalized Dirac operator as well as the fundamental solutions to the Cauchy problem are written in explicit form via the fundamental solution of the wave equation in the Minkowski spacetime.

Small Data Wave Maps in Cyclic Spacetime

We study the initial value problem for the wave maps defined on the cyclic spacetime with the target Riemannian manifold that is responsive (see definition of the self coherence structure) to the parametric resonance phenomena. In particular, for arbitrary small and smooth initial data we construct blowing up solutions of the wave map if the metric of the base manifold is periodic in time.

Global existence of the self-interacting scalar field in the de Sitter universe

We present some sufficient conditions for the global in time existence of solutions of the semilinear Klein-Gordon equation of the self-interacting scalar field with complex mass. The coefficients of the equation depend on spatial variables as well, that makes results applicable, in particular, to the spacetime with the time slices being Riemannian manifolds. The least lifespan estimate is given for the class of equations including the Higgs boson equation, which according to physics has a finite lifetime.

Computational Results for the Higgs Boson Equation in the de Sitter Spacetime

High performance computations are presented for the Higgs Boson Equation in the de Sitter Space- time using explicit fourth order Runge-Kutta scheme on the temporal discretization and fourth order finite difference discretization in space. In addition to the fully three space dimensional equation its one space dimensional radial solutions are also examined. The numerical code for the three space di- mensional equation has been programmed in CUDA Fortran and was performed on NVIDIA Tesla K40c GPU Accelerator. The radial form of the equation was simulated in MATLAB. The numerical results demonstrate the existing theoretical result that under certain conditions bubbles form in the scalar field. We also demonstrate the known blow-up phenomena for the solutions of the semilinear Klein-Gordon equation with imaginary mass. Our numerical studies suggest several previously not known properties of the solution for which theoretical proofs do not exist yet: 1. smooth solution exists for all time if the initial conditions are compactly supported and smooth; 2. under some conditions no bubbles form; 3. solutions converge to step functions related to unforced, damped Duffing equations.

Integral Transform Approach to Generalized Tricomi Equations

We present some integral transform that allows to obtain solutions of the generalized Tricomi equation from solutions of a simpler equation. We used in [13,14],[41]-[46] the particular version of this transform in order to investigate in a unified way several equations such as the linear and semilinear Tricomi equations, Gellerstedt equation, the wave equation in Einstein-de Sitter spacetime, the wave and the Klein-Gordon equations in the de Sitter and anti-de Sitter spacetimes.
