New Exact Spherically Symmetric Solutions in $f(R,ϕ,X)$ gravity by Noether's symmetry approach

The exact solutions of spherically symmetric space-times are explored by using Noether symmetries in $f(R,ϕ,X)$ gravity with $R$ the scalar curvature, $ϕ$ a scalar field and $X$ the kinetic term of $ϕ$. Some of these solutions can represent new black holes solutions in this extended theory of gravity. The classical Noether approach is particularly applied to acquire the Noether symmetry in $f(R,ϕ,X)$ gravity. Under the classical Noether theorem, it is shown that the Noether symmetry in $f(R,ϕ,X)$ gravity yields the solvable first integral of motion. With the conservation relation obtained from the Noether symmetry, the exact solutions for the field equations can be found. The most important result in this paper is that, without assuming $R=\textrm{constant}$, we have found new spherically symmetric solutions in different theories such as: power-law $f(R)=f_0 R^n$ gravity, non-minimally coupling models between the scalar field and the Ricci scalar $f(R,ϕ,X)=f_0 R^n ϕ^m+f_1 X^q-V(ϕ)$, non-minimally couplings between the scalar field and a kinetic term $f(R,ϕ,X)=f_0 R^n +f_1ϕ^mX^q$ , and also in extended Brans-Dicke gravity $f(R,ϕ,X)=U(ϕ,X)R$. It is also demonstrated that the approach with Noether symmetries can be regarded as a selection rule to determine the potential $V(ϕ)$ for $ϕ$, included in some class of the theories of $f(R,ϕ,X)$ gravity.

Effects of Anisotropy on the Sign-Changeable Interacting Tsallis Holographic Dark Energy

A spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type I universe is considered while it is filled by pressureless dark matter (DM) and Tsallis holographic dark energy (DE) interacting with each other throughout a sign-changeable mutual interaction. Various infra-red (IR) cutoffs are studied, and it has been obtained that while the current universe can classically be stable for some cases, all models display classical instability by themselves at the future ($z\rightarrow-1$). Moreover, we find out that some models can cross the phantom line. In order to have a more comprehensive study, the statefinder diagnostic and the $ω_D-ω^{\prime}_{D}$ plane are also investigated showing that the model parameters significantly affect the evolution trajectories in the $r-s$ and $ω_D-ω^{\prime}_{D}$ planes.

Holographic dark energy through Tsallis entropy

In order to apply holography and entropy relations to the whole universe, which is a gravitational and thus nonextensive system, for consistency one should use the generalized definition for the universe horizon entropy, namely Tsallis nonextensive entropy. We formulate Tsallis holographic dark energy, which is a generalization of standard holographic dark energy quantified by a new dimensionless parameter $δ$, possessing the latter as a particular sub-case. We provide a simple differential equation for the dark energy density parameter, as well as an analytical expression for its equation-of-state parameter. In this scenario the universe exhibits the usual thermal history, namely the successive sequence of matter and dark-energy epochs, before resulting in a complete dark energy domination in the far future. Additionally, the dark energy equation-of-state parameter presents a rich behavior and, according to the value of $δ$, it can be quintessence-like, phantom-like, or experience the phantom-divide crossing before or after the present time. Finally, we confront the scenario with Supernovae type Ia and Hubble parameter observational data, and we show that the agreement is very good, with $δ$ preferring a value slightly larger than its standard value 1.

Charged rotating black holes coupled with nonlinear electrodynamics Maxwell field in the mimetic gravity

In mimetic gravity, we derive $D$-dimension charged black hole solutions having flat or cylindrical horizons with zero curvature boundary. The asymptotic behaviours of these black holes behave as (A)dS. We study both linear and nonlinear forms of the Maxwell field equations in two separate contexts. For the nonlinear case, we derive a new solution having a metric with monopole, dipole and quadrupole terms. The most interesting feature of this black hole is that its dipole and quadruple terms are related by a constant. However, the solution reduces to the linear case of the Maxwell field equations when this constant acquires a null value. Also, we apply a coordinate transformation and derive rotating black hole solutions (for both linear and nonlinear cases). We show that the nonlinear black hole has stronger curvature singularities than the corresponding known black hole solutions in general relativity. We show that the obtained solutions could have at most two horizons. We determine the critical mass of the degenerate horizon at which the two horizons coincide. We study the thermodynamical stability of the solutions. We note that the nonlinear electrodynamics contributes to process a second-order phase transition whereas the heat capacity has an infinite discontinuity.

Thermodynamics in Rastall Gravity with Entropy Corrections

We explore the thermodynamic analysis at the apparent horizon in the framework of Rastall theory of gravity. We take different entropies such as the Bakenstein, logarithmic corrected, power law corrected, and the Renyi entropies. We investigate the first law and generalized second law of thermodynamics analytically for these entropies which hold under certain conditions. Furthermore, the behavior of the total entropy in each case is analyzed. As a result, it is implied that the generalized second law of thermodynamics is satisfied. We also check whether the thermodynamic equilibrium condition for these entropies is met at the present horizon.

Analysis with observational constraints in $ Λ$-cosmology in $f(R,T)$ gravity

An exact cosmological solution of Einstein field equations (EFEs) is derived for a dynamical vacuum energy in $f(R,T)$ gravity for Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) space-time. A parametrization of the Hubble parameter is used to find a deterministic solution of EFE. The cosmological dynamics of our model is discussed in detail. We have analyzed the time evolution of physical parameters and obtained their bounds analytically. Moreover, the behavior of these parameters are shown graphically in terms of redshift $`z'$. Our model is consistent with the formation of structure in the Universe. The role of the $f(R,T)$ coupling constant $λ$ is discussed in the evolution of the equation of state parameter. The statefinder and Om diagnostic analysis is used to distinguish our model with other dark energy models. The maximum likelihood analysis has been reviewed to obtain the constraints on the Hubble parameter $H_0$ and the model parameter $n$ by taking into account the observational Hubble data set $H(z)$, the Union 2.1 compilation data set $SNeIa$, the Baryon Acoustic Oscillation data $BAO$, and the joint data set $H(z)$ + $ SNeIa$ and $H(z)$ + $SNeIa$ + $BAO $. It is demonstrated that the model is in good agreement with various observations.

A Note on Tsallis Holographic Dark Energy

We explore the effects of considering various infrared (IR) cutoffs, including the particle horizon, Ricci horizon and Granda-Oliveros (GO) cutoffs, on the properties of Tsallis holographic dark energy (THDE) model, proposed inspired by Tsallis generalized entropy formalism \cite{THDE}. Interestingly enough, we find that for the particle horizon as IR cutoff, the obtained THDE model can describe the accelerated universe. This is in contrast to the usual HDE model which cannot lead to an accelerated universe, if one consider the particle horizon as IR cutoff. We also investigate the cosmological consequences of THDE under the assumption of a mutual interaction between the dark sectors of the Universe. It is shown that the evolution history of the Universe can be described by these IR cutoffs and thus the current cosmic acceleration can also been realized. The sound instability of THDE models for each cutoff are also explored, separately.

The arbitrariness of potentials in interacting quintessence models

We study the interacting quintessence model with two different types of interaction by introducing a general parameterization of the quintessence potentials. The form of the quintessence potentials is arbitrary as the recent cosmological observations failed to constrain any particular form of the potentials. We explore the interacting quintessence models and investigate if an introduction of interaction between the dark sectors can constrain any particular form of the potential. Our findings reconfirm the arbitrariness of the quintessence potentials even for the interacting dark energy models. As a result, it is shown that the current observations are able to put an upper bound to the interaction parameter for both of the interactions we consider, although it is not possible to constrain the form of the potentials.

Observational constraints on the jerk parameter with the data of the Hubble parameter

We study the accelerated expansion phase of the universe by using the {\textit{kinematic approach}}. In particular, the deceleration parameter $q$ is parametrized in a model-independent way. Considering a generalized parametrization for $q$, we first obtain the jerk parameter $j$ (a dimensionless third time derivative of the scale factor) and then confront it with cosmic observations. We use the latest observational dataset of the Hubble parameter $H(z)$ consisting of 41 data points in the redshift range of $0.07 \leq z \leq 2.36$, larger than the redshift range that covered by the Type Ia supernova. We also acquire the current values of the deceleration parameter $q_0$, jerk parameter $j_0$ and transition redshift $z_t$ (at which the expansion of the universe switches from being decelerated to accelerated) with $1σ$ errors ($68.3\%$ confidence level). As a result, it is demonstrate that the universe is indeed undergoing an accelerated expansion phase following the decelerated one. This is consistent with the present observations. Moreover, we find the departure for the present model from the standard $Λ$CDM model according to the evolution of $j$. Furthermore, the evolution of the normalized Hubble parameter is shown for the present model and it is compared with the dataset of $H(z)$.

Pendulum Leptogenesis

We propose a new non-thermal Leptogenesis mechanism that takes place during the reheating epoch, and utilizes the Ratchet mechanism. The interplay between the oscillation of the inflaton during reheating and a scalar lepton leads to a dynamical system that emulates the well-known forced pendulum. This is found to produce driven motion in the phase of the scalar lepton which leads to the generation of a non-zero lepton number density that is later redistributed to baryon number via sphaleron processes. This model successfully reproduces the observed baryon asymmetry, while simultaneously providing an origin for neutrino masses via the seesaw mechanism.

Nonlinear electrodynamics, singularities and accelerated expansion

Non-linear electrodynamics coupled to general relativity is investigated. In general relativity, it is observed that the expansion of the universe is accelerating if the source of the gravitational field is the non-linear electromagnetic field. Moreover, a pure magnetic universe is explored. As a result, it is demonstrated that the magnetic field drives the cosmic expansion to be accelerated. Furthermore, the stability analysis of the present model is developed. In addition, the energy conditions and future singularities are studied in detail.

A small non-vanishing cosmological constant from the Krein-Gupta-Bleuler vacuum

We point out a potential relevance between the Krein-Gupta-Bleuler (KGB) vacuum leading to a fully covariant quantum field theory for gravity in de Sitter (dS) spacetime and the observable smallness of the cosmological constant. This may provide a formulation of linear quantum gravity in a framework amenable to developing a more complete theory determining the value of the cosmological constant.

Phase Space description of Nonlocal Teleparallel Gravity

We study cosmological solutions in nonlocal teleparallel gravity or $f(T)$ theory, where $T$ is the torsion scalar in teleparallel gravity. This is a natural extenstion of the usual teleparallel gravity with nonlocal terms. In this work the phase space portrait proposed to describe the dynamics of an arbitrary flat, homogeneous cosmological background with a number of matter contents, both in early and late time epochs. The aim was to convert the system of the equations of the motion to a first order autonomous dynamical system and to find fixed points and attractors using numerical codes. For this purpose, firstly we derive effective forms of cosmological field equations describing the whole cosmic evolution history in a homogeneous and isotropic cosmological background and construct the autonomous system of the first order dynamical equations. In addition, we investigate the local stability in the dynamical systems called "the stable/unstable manifold" by introducing a specific form of the interaction between matter, dark energy, radiation and a scalar field. Furthermore, we explore the exact solutions of the cosmological equations in the case of de Sitter spacetime. In particular, we examine the role of an auxiliary function called "gauge" $η$ in the formation of such cosmological solutions and show whether the de Sitter solutions can exist or not. Moreover, we study the stability issue of the de Sitter solutions both in vacuum and non-vacuum spacetimes. It is demonstrated that for nonlocal $f(T)$ gravity, the stable de Sitter solutions can be produced even in vacuum spacetime.

Spherically symmetric charged black hole in conformal teleparallel equivalent of general relativity

We study 4-dimensional non-charged and charged spherically symmetric spacetimes in conformal teleparallel equivalent of general relativity. We apply the gravitational field equations in non-charged and charged spacetimes to the diagonal and non-diagonal vierbeins and derive their sets of the non-linear differential equations. It is demonstrated that the Schwarzschild, for the non-charged case, and the Reissner-Nordström, for the charged case, are the only black hole solutions for the spherically symmetric case in the framework of the conformal teleparallel equivalent of general relativity theory. As a result, it is found that in the conformal teleparallel equivalent of general relativity theory, the scalar field cannot have any effect for the spherically symmetric manifold.

"Massless" spin-2 field in de Sitter space

In this paper, admitting a de Sitter (dS)-invariant vacuum in an indefinite inner product space, we present a Gupta-Bleuler type setting for causal and full dS-covariant quantization of free "massless" spin-2 field in dS spacetime. The term "massless" stands for the fact that the field displays gauge and conformal invariance properties. In this construction, the field is defined rigorously as an operator-valued distribution. It is covariant in the usual strong sense: $\underline{U}_g \underline{\cal{K}} (X) \underline{U}_g^{-1} = \underline{\cal{K}} (g.X)$, for any $g$ in the dS group, where $\underline{U}$ is associated with the indecomposable representations of the dS group, $SO_0(1,4)$, on the space of states. The theory, therefore, does not suffer from infrared divergences. Despite the appearance of negative norm states in the theory, the energy operator is positive in all physical states and vanishes in the vacuum.

Dynamical Instability of Spherical Anisotropic Sources in $f(R,T,R_{μν}T^{μν})$ Gravity

In this paper, we study the effects of modification of gravity on the problem of dynamical instability of the spherical relativistic anisotropic interiors. We have considered non-zero influence of expansion scalar throughout during the evolutionary phases of spherical geometry that led to the use of fluid stiffness parameter. The modified hydrostatic equation for the stellar anisotropic matter distributions is constructed and then solved by using radial perturbation scheme. Such a differential equation can be further used to obtain instability constraints at both weak field and post-Newtonian approximations after considering a particular Harrison-Wheeler equation of state. This approach allows us to deal with the effects of usual and effective matter variables on the stability exotic stellar of self-gravitating structures.

Bouncing cosmology in $f(R,T)$ gravity

A cosmological model with a specific form of the Hubble parameter is constructed in a flat homogeneous, and isotropic background in the framework of $f(R, T)$ gravity, where $R$ is the scalar curvature and $T$ is the trace of the stress-energy-momentum tensor. The proposed functional form of the Hubble parameter is taken in such a way that it fulfills the successful bouncing criteria to find the solution of the gravitational field equations provided the Universe is free from initial singularity. The various constraints on the parameters are involved in the functional form of the Hubble parameter which is analyzed in detail. In addition, we explore physical and geometrical consequences of the model based on the imposed constraints. Furthermore, we demonstrate the bouncing scenario which are realized in our model with some particular values of the model parameters. As a result, we find that all of the necessary conditions are satisfied for a successful bouncing model.

On the propagation of gravitational waves in strong magnetic fields

The propagation of gravitational waves is explored in the cosmological context. It is explicitly demonstrated that the propagation of gravitational waves could be influenced by the medium. It is shown that in the thermal radiation, the propagation of gravitational waves in general relativity is different from that in the scalar-tensor theory. The propagation of gravitational waves is investigated in the uniform magnetic field. As a result, it is found that cosmic magnetic fields could influence on the propagation of gravitational waves to non-negligible extent. The corresponding estimation for the spiral galaxy NGC 6946 effect is made.
