Pairing symmetry of superconductivity coexisting with antiferromagnetism

Pairing symmetry in the superconducting state coexisting with antiferromagnetic order is studied based on a microscopic theory. We calculate the linearized Eliashberg's equation within the random phase approximation in the Hubbard model with a staggered field. We find that odd-frequency spin-triplet (equal-spin) s-wave pairing state can be realized. This result contradicts a naive expectation that antiferromagnetic order induces antiferromagnetic spin fluctuation and favors spin-singlet d-wave pairing as in the standard strongly correlated systems.

Realization of Berezinskii's superconductivity in quasi-one-dimensional systems

We revisit the pairing symmetry competition in quasi-one-dimensional systems. We show that spin-triplet s-wave pairing, where the pair is formed by electrons with different times and has an odd-frequency symmetry, can be realized in systems with strong one-dimensionality when the strength of charge fluctuation dominates over spin fluctuation. The present study provides a novel microscopic mechanism for this exotic pairing originally proposed by Berezinskii in 1974.

Odd-frequency Superconductivity on a Quasi-one-dimensional Triangular Lattice in the Hubbard Model

In order to clarify whether the odd-frequency superconductivity can be realized or not, we study a quasi-one-dimensional triangular lattice in the Hubbard model using the random phase approximation (RPA) and the fluctuation exchange (FLEX) approximation. We find that odd-frequency spin-singlet p-wave pairing can be enhanced on a quasi-one-dimensional isosceles triangular lattice.
