A Kaehler structure on the punctured cotangent bundle of the Cayley projective plane

We construct a Kaehler structure on the punctured cotangent bundle of the Cayley projective plane whose Kaehler form coincides with the natural symplectic form on the cotangent bundle and we show that the geodesic flow action is holomorphic and is expressed in a quite explicit form. We also give an embedding of the punctured cotangent bundle of the Cayley projective plane into the space of 8 times 8 complex matrices.

Maslov index in the infinite dimension and a splitting formula for a spectral flow

First, we prove a local spectral flow formula (Theorem 3.7) for a differentiable curve of selfadjoint Fredholm operators. This formula enables us to prove in a simple way a general spectral flow formula. Secondly, we prove a splitting formula (Theorem 4.12) for the spectral flow of a curve of selfadjoint elliptic operators on a closed manifold, which we decompose into two parts with commom boundary. Then the formula says that the spectral flow is a sum of two spectral flows on each part of the separated manifold with naturally introduced elliptic boundary conditions. In the course of proving this formula, we investigate a property of the Maslov index for paths of Fredholm pairs of Lagrangian subspaces

Determinant of Laplacians on Heisenberg Manifolds

We give an integral representaion of the zeta-reguralized determinant of Laplacians on three dimensional Heisenberg manifolds, and study a behaivior of the values when we deform the uniform discrete subgroups. Heiseberg manifolds are the total space of a fiber bundle with a torus as the base space and a circle as a typical fiber, then the deformation of the uniform discrete subgroups means that the "radius" of the fiber goes to zero. We explain the lines of the calculations precisely for three dimensional cases and state the corresponding results for five dimensional Heisenberg manifolds. We see that the values themselves are of the product form with a factor which is that of the flat torus. So in the last half of this paper we derive general formulas of the zeta-regularized determinant for product type manifolds of two Riemannian manifolds, discuss the formulas for flat tori and explain a relation of the formula for the two dimensional flat torus and Kronecker's second limit formula.
