Parameter-Efficient Quantum NLP for Paraphrase Detection: Performance, Robustness, and Entanglement

Rigorous empirical validation of quantum machine learning on natural language tasks remains scarce. We evaluate a 10-qubit hybrid quantum-classical variational circuit (2,148 parameters) for paraphrase detection across three benchmarks: MRPC, Quora Question Pairs (QQP), and adversarial PAWS. On QQP (n = 10 seeds), the circuit achieves 75.53% +/- 0.75%. accuracy, statistically outperforming parameter-matched classical baselines (DeepMLP: p = 0.015, Cohen's d = 1.20; F1: p < 0.001, d = 2.32) and surpassing DistilBERT-4bit with 31,191 fewer parameters. On MRPC the optimal 2-layer variant reaches 92% of BERT-base accuracy at 54,000 lower parameter cost. Circuit depth analysis reveals a dataset-depth scaling effect; entanglement analysis via the Meyer-Wallach measure identifies multi-qubit entanglement as the primary performance driver (r = 0.85 across four variants). Adversarial evaluation on PAWS reveals emergent robustness: 98.2% recall versus 81.6% classical (+16.6 pp, d = 1.24, p < 0.001), without adversarial training. These results constitute the first systematic parameter-matched multi-benchmark empirical validation of hybrid variational circuits for NLP. All results are from classical simulation; hardware validation is future work.

Quantum Natural Language Processing: A Comprehensive Review of Models, Methods, and Applications

In recent developments, deep learning methodologies applied to Natural Language Processing (NLP) have revealed a paradox: They improve performance but demand considerable data and resources for their training. Alternatively, quantum computing exploits the principles of quantum mechanics to overcome the computational limitations of current methodologies, thereby establishing an emerging field known as quantum natural language processing (QNLP). This domain holds the potential to attain a quantum advantage in the processing of linguistic structures, surpassing classical models in both efficiency and accuracy. In this paper, it is proposed to categorise QNLP models based on quantum computing principles, architecture, and computational approaches. This paper attempts to provide a survey on how quantum meets language by mapping state-of-the-art in this area, embracing quantum encoding techniques for classical data, QNLP models for prevalent NLP tasks, and quantum optimisation techniques for hyper parameter tuning. The landscape of quantum computing approaches applied to various NLP tasks is summarised by showcasing the specific QNLP methods used, and the popularity of these methods is indicated by their count. From the findings, it is observed that QNLP approaches are still limited to small data sets, with only a few models explored extensively, and there is increasing interest in the application of quantum computing to natural language processing tasks.

GPT, Ontology, and CAABAC: A Tripartite Personalized Access Control Model Anchored by Compliance, Context and Attribute

As digital healthcare evolves, the security of electronic health records (EHR) becomes increasingly crucial. This study presents the GPT-Onto-CAABAC framework, integrating Generative Pretrained Transformer (GPT), medical-legal ontologies and Context-Aware Attribute-Based Access Control (CAABAC) to enhance EHR access security. Unlike traditional models, GPT-Onto-CAABAC dynamically interprets policies and adapts to changing healthcare and legal environments, offering customized access control solutions. Through empirical evaluation, this framework is shown to be effective in improving EHR security by accurately aligning access decisions with complex regulatory and situational requirements. The findings suggest its broader applicability in sectors where access control must meet stringent compliance and adaptability standards.

Deep-Learning-Based Computer Vision Approach For The Segmentation Of Ball Deliveries And Tracking In Cricket

There has been a significant increase in the adoption of technology in cricket recently. This trend has created the problem of duplicate work being done in similar computer vision-based research works. Our research tries to solve one of these problems by segmenting ball deliveries in a cricket broadcast using deep learning models, MobileNet and YOLO, thus enabling researchers to use our work as a dataset for their research. The output from our research can be used by cricket coaches and players to analyze ball deliveries which are played during the match. This paper presents an approach to segment and extract video shots in which only the ball is being delivered. The video shots are a series of continuous frames that make up the whole scene of the video. Object detection models are applied to reach a high level of accuracy in terms of correctly extracting video shots. The proof of concept for building large datasets of video shots for ball deliveries is proposed which paves the way for further processing on those shots for the extraction of semantics. Ball tracking in these video shots is also done using a separate RetinaNet model as a sample of the usefulness of the proposed dataset. The position on the cricket pitch where the ball lands is also extracted by tracking the ball along the y-axis. The video shot is then classified as a full-pitched, good-length or short-pitched delivery.

A Novel Framework for Software Defined Wireless Body Area Network

Software Defined Networking (SDN) has gained huge popularity in replacing traditional network by offering flexible and dynamic network management. It has drawn significant attention of the researchers from both academia and industries. Particularly, incorporating SDN in Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) applications indicates promising benefits in terms of dealing with challenges like traffic management, authentication, energy efficiency etc. while enhancing administrative control. This paper presents a novel framework for Software Defined WBAN (SDWBAN), which brings the concept of SDN technology into WBAN applications. By decoupling the control plane from data plane and having more programmatic control would assist to overcome the current lacking and challenges of WBAN. Therefore, we provide a conceptual framework for SDWBAN with packet flow model and a future direction of research pertaining to SDWBAN.
