Breaking the Scalability Limit of Multi-Projector Calibration with Embedded Cameras

Conventional multi-projector calibration requires projecting and capturing structured light patterns for each projector sequentially, causing calibration time and effort to increase linearly with the number of projectors. This scalability bottleneck has long limited the deployment of large-scale projection mapping systems. We present a new calibration framework that breaks this limitation by embedding cameras into the surface of the calibration target. The embedded cameras directly capture the incoming projection light, enabling the separation of simultaneously projected structured light patterns from multiple projectors according to their incident directions. Our method establishes correspondences between the optical centers of the embedded cameras and the projector pixels, allowing the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of all projectors to be simultaneously estimated. We further introduce a correction technique for small misalignments between the calibration board and camera optical centers. As a result, our system achieves calibration accuracy comparable to conventional methods while reducing the required number of projection-capture cycles from linear to nearly constant with respect to the number of projectors, dramatically improving scalability for dense multi-projector systems with overlapping projection regions, such as high-brightness stacking, super-resolution, light-field, and shadow-suppression displays.

Metric Algebroid and Poisson-Lie T-duality in DFT

In this article we investigate the gauge invariance and duality properties of DFT based on a metric algebroid formulation given previously in [1]. The derivation of the general action given in this paper does not employ the section condition. Instead, the action is determined by requiring a pre-Bianchi identity on the structure functions of the metric algebroid and also for the dilaton flux. The pre-Bianchi identity is also a sufficient condition for a generalized Lichnerowicz formula to hold. The reduction to the D-dimensional space is achieved by a dimensional reduction of the fluctuations. The result contains the theory on the group manifold, or the theory extending to the GSE, depending on the chosen background. As an explicit example we apply our formulation to the Poisson-Lie T-duality in the effective theory on a group manifold. It is formulated as a 2D-dimensional diffeomorphism including the fluctuations.

Metric algebroid and Dirac generating operator in Double Field Theory

We give a formulation of Double Field Theory (DFT) based on a metric algebroid. We derive a covariant completion of the Bianchi identities, i.e. the pre-Bianchi identity in torsion and an improved generalized curvature, and the pre-Bianchi identity including the dilaton contribution. The derived bracket formulation by the Dirac generating operator is applied to the metric algebroid. We propose a generalized Lichnerowicz formula and show that it is equivalent to the pre-Bianchi identities. The dilaton in this setting is included as an ambiguity in the divergence. The projected generalized Lichnerowicz formula gives a new formulation of the DFT action. The closure of the generalized Lie derivative on the spin bundle yields the Bianchi identities as a consistency condition. A relation to the generalized supergravity equations (GSE) is discussed.
