Transfer and Norm for Finite Group Schemes

We develop the theory of transfer and norm maps for finite group schemes, extending classical results from finite group theory to a context where induction and restriction are not necessarily bi-adjoint. In the additive setting, we construct a transfer map for both modules and $\rm Ext $ groups and prove that its surjectivity characterizes relative projectivity, establishing a generalization of Higman's criterion. In the multiplicative setting, we define a relative norm map for algebras with a group scheme action. We compare this norm with other versions in the literature, proving that it coincides with Mumford's norm for finite morphisms and on fields is a power of the classical field norm.

Equivariant Koszul Cohomology of Canonical Curves

This paper investigates the representation-theoretic structure of the Koszul cohomology of a smooth projective variety $X$ over an algebraically closed field $k$, admitting an action of a finite group $G$ of order coprime to ${\rm char}(k)$. Properties of $G$-equivariant functors are employed to show that the associated Koszul complex is a complex of $kG$-modules, and to generalize known dimension formulas to identities between virtual representations. In the case of canonical curves, explicit formulas are obtained by combining the theory of equivariant Euler characteristics and equivariant Riemann-Roch theorems with that of generating functions for Schur functors.

Representations on canonical models of generalized Fermat curves and their syzygies

We study canonical models of $\left(\mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z}\right)^n$- covers of the projective line, tamely ramified at exactly $n+1$ points each of index $k$, when $k,n\geq 2$ and the characteristic of the ground field $K$ is either zero or does not divide $k$. We determine explicitly the structure of the respective homogeneous coordinate ring first as a graded $K$-algebra, next as a $\left(\mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z}\right)^n$- representation over $K$, and then as a graded module over the polynomial ring; in the latter case, we give generators for its first syzygy module, which we also decompose as a direct sum of irreducible representations.

The equivariant Hilbert series of the canonical ring of Fermat curves

We consider a Fermat curve $F_n:x^n+y^n+z^n=1$ over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $p\geq0$ and study the action of the automorphism group $G=\left(\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z}\right)\rtimes S_3$ on the canonical ring $R=\bigoplus H^0(F_n,Ω_{F_n}^{\otimes m})$ when $p>3$, $p\nmid n$ and $n-1$ is not a power of $p$. In particular, we explicitly determine the classes $[H^0(F_n,Ω_{F_n}^{\otimes m})]$ in the Grothendieck group $K_0(G,k)$ of finitely generated $k[G]$-modules, describe the respective equivariant Hilbert series $H_{R,G}(t)$ as a rational function, and use our results to write a program in Sage that computes $H_{R,G}(t)$ for an arbitrary Fermat curve.

Local Oort groups and the isolated differential data criterion

It is conjectured that if k is an algebraically closed field of characteristic p > 0, then any branched G-cover of smooth projective k-curves where the "KGB" obstruction vanishes and where a p-Sylow subgroup of G is cyclic lifts to characteristic 0. Obus has shown that this conjecture holds given the existence of certain meromorphic differential forms on P_1^k with behavior determined by the ramification data of the cover. We give a more efficient computational procedure to compute these forms than was previously known. As a consequence, we show that all D_25- and D_27-covers lift to characteristic zero.

The Relative Canonical Ideal of the Artin-Schreier-Kummer-Witt family of curves

We study the canonical model of the Artin-Schreier-Kummer-Witt flat family of curves over a ring of mixed characteristic. We first prove the relative version of a classical theorem by Petri, then use the model proposed by Bertin-Mézard to construct an explicit generating set for the relative canonical ideal. As a byproduct, we obtain a combinatorial criterion for a set to generate the canonical ideal, applicable to any curve satisfying the assumptions of Petri's theorem.
