Effects of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle on the Inflation Parameters

We investigate the effects of the generalized uncertainty principle on the inflationary dynamics of the early universe in both standard and braneworld viewpoint. We choose the Randall-Sundrum II model as our underlying braneworld scenario. We find that the quantum gravitational effects lead to a spectral index which is not scale invariant. Also, the amplitude of density fluctuations is reduced by increasing the strength of quantum gravitational corrections. However, the tensor-to-scalar ratio increases by incorporation of these quantum gravity effects. We outline possible manifestations of these quantum gravity effects in the recent and future observations.

Phantom-Like Behavior in $f(R)$-Gravity

We investigate possible realization of the phantom-like behavior in the framework of $f(R)$-gravity models where there are no phantom fields in the matter sector of the theory. By adopting some observationally reliable ansatz for $f(R)$, we show that it is possible to realize phantom-like behavior in $f(R)$-gravity without introduction of phantom fields that suffer from instabilities and violation of the null energy condition. Depending on the choice of $f(R)$, the null energy condition is fulfilled in some subspaces of each model parameter space.

Modified GBIG Scenario as an Alternative for Dark Energy

We construct a DGP-inspired braneworld model where induced gravity on the brane is modified in the spirit of $f(R)$ gravity and stringy effects are taken into account by incorporation of the Gauss-Bonnet term in the bulk action. We explore cosmological dynamics of this model and we show that this scenario is a successful alternative for dark energy proposal. Interestingly, it realizes the phantom-like behavior without introduction of any phantom field on the brane and the effective equation of state parameter crosses the cosmological constant line naturally in the same way as observational data suggest.

Noncommutative Inspired Reissner-Nordström Black Holes in Large Extra Dimensions

Recently, a new noncommutative geometry inspired solution of the coupled Einstein-Maxwell field equations including black holes in 4-dimension is found. In this paper, we generalize some aspects of this model to the Reissner-Nordström (RN) like geometries with large extra dimensions. We discuss Hawking radiation process based on noncommutative inspired solutions. In this framework, existence of black hole remnant and possibility of its detection in LHC are investigated.

Chaotic inflation on the Randall-Sundrum 2-brane model

We construct an inflation model on the Randall-Sundrum I (RSI) brane where a bulk scalar field stabilizes the inter-brane separation. We study impact of the bulk scalar field on the inflationary dynamics on the brane. We proceed in two different approaches: in the first approach, the stabilizing field potential is directly appeared in the Friedmann equation and the resulting scenario is effectively a two-field inflation. In the second approach the stabilization mechanism is considered in the context of a warp factor so that there is just one field present that plays the roles of both inflaton and stabilizer. We study constraints imposed on the model parameters from recent observations.

A Braneworld Dark Energy Model with Induced Gravity and the Gauss-Bonnet Effect

We construct a holographic dark energy model with a non-minimally coupled scalar field on the brane where Gauss-Bonnet and Induced Gravity effects are taken into account. This model provides a wide parameter space with several interesting cosmological implications. Especially, the equation of state parameter of the model crosses the phantom divide line and it is possible to realize bouncing solutions in this setup.

Dynamical-Screening and the Phantom-Like Effects in a DGP-Inspired $F(R,ϕ)$ Model

Based on the Lue-Starkman conjecture on the dynamical screening of the brane cosmological constant in the DGP scenario, we extend this proposal to a general DGP-inspired $F(R,ϕ)$ Model. We show that modification of the induced gravity and its coupling to a quintessence field localized on the brane, affects the screening of the brane cosmological constant and also phantom-like behavior on the brane. We extend our study to possible modification of the induced gravity on the brane and for clarification some specific examples are presented. As a result, phantom-like behavior can be realized in this setup without violating the null energy condition at least in some subspaces of the model parameter space. The key result of our study is the fact that a DGP-inspired $F(R,ϕ)$ scenario has the best fit with LCDM and recent observations than other alternative theories.

Crossing the Cosmological Constant Line on a Warped DGP Brane

We study dynamics of the equation of state parameter for a dark energy component non-minimally coupled to induced gravity on a warped DGP brane. We show that there are appropriate domains of the model parameters space that account for crossing of the phantom divide line. This crossing, which is possible for both branches of the scenario, depends explicitly on the values of the non-minimal coupling and warp factor. The effect of warp factor appears in the value of the redshift parameter at which phantom divide line crossing occurs.

Comparison of Frames: Jordan vs Einstein Frame for a Non-minimal Dark Energy Model

We construct a dark energy model where a scalar field non-minimally coupled to gravity plays the role of the dark component. We compare cosmological consequences of this non-minimal coupling of the scalar field and gravity in the spirit of the dark energy paradigm in Jordan and Einstein frames. Some important issues such as phantom divide line crossing, existence of the bouncing solutions and the stability of the solutions are compared in these two frames. We show that while a non-minimally coupled scalar field in the Jordan frame is a suitable dark energy component with capability to realize phantom divide line crossing, its conformal transformation in the Einstein frame has not this capability. The conformal transformation from Jordan frame to Einstein frame transforms the equation of state parameter of the dark energy component to its minimal form with a redefined scalar field and in this case it is impossible to realize a phantom phase with possible crossing of the phantom divide line.

Bouncing Universe with a Nonminimally Coupled Scalar Field on a Moving Domain Wall

We study dynamics of a dark energy component nonminimally coupled to gravity on a moving domain wall. We use this setup to explain late-time accelerated expansion and crossing of the phantom divide line by the equation of state parameter of this non-minimally coupled dark energy component. By analyzing parameter space of the model, we show that this model accounts for accelerated expansion and crossing of the phantom divide line with a suitable fine-tuning of the nonminimal coupling. Then we study the issue of bouncing solutions in this framework.

Parikh-Wilczek Tunneling from Noncommutative Higher Dimensional Black Holes

We study tunneling of massless and massive particles through the smeared quantum horizon of the extra-dimensional Schwarzschild black holes. The emission rate of the particles' tunneling is modified by noncommutativity effects in a bulk spacetime of dimension $d$. The issues of information loss and possible correlations between emitted particles are discussed. We show that even by considering both noncommutativity and braneworld effects, there is no correlation between different modes of evaporation at least at late-time and within approximations used in the calculations. However, incorporation of quantum gravity effects such as modification of the standard dispersion relation or generalization of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, leads to the correlation between emitted particles. Although time-evolution of these correlations is not trivial, a part of information coming out of the black hole can be preserved in these correlations. On the other hand, as a well-known result of spacetime noncommutativity, a part of information may be preserved in a stable black hole remnant.

Bouncing universe with the non-minimally coupled quintom matter on the warped DGP Brane

We construct a quintom dark energy model with two non-minimally coupled scalar fields, one quintessence and the other phantom field, confined on the warped DGP brane. We study some important issues such as phantom divide line crossing, existence of the bouncing solutions and the stability of the solutions in this framework. We show that this model accounts for crossing of the phantom divide line and realization of the bouncing solutions. This model allows for stability of the solutions in separate regions of the $ω$-$ω'$ phase-plane.

A Lorentz Invariance Violating Cosmology on the DGP Brane

We study cosmological implications of a Lorentz invariance violating DGP-inspired braneworld scenario. A minimally coupled scalar field and a single, fixed-norm, Lorentz-violating timelike vector field within an interactive picture provide a wide parameter space which accounts for late-time acceleration and transition to phantom phase of the scalar field.

Quantum Gravity and Recovery of Information in Black Hole Evaporation

The Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP), motivated by current alternatives of quantum gravity, produces significant modifications to the Hawking radiation and the final stage of black hole evaporation. We show that incorporation of the GUP into the quantum tunneling process (based on the null-geodesic method) causes correlations between the tunneling probability of different modes in the black hole radiation spectrum. In this manner, the quantum information becomes encrypted in the Hawking radiation, and information can be recovered as non-thermal GUP correlations between tunneling probabilities of different modes.

Late-time acceleration and Phantom Divide Line Crossing with Non-minimal Coupling and Lorentz Invariance Violation

We consider two alternative dark energy models: a Lorentz invariance preserving model with a nonminimally coupled scalar field and a Lorentz invariance violating model with a minimally coupled scalar field. We study accelerated expansion and dynamics of equation of state parameter in these scenarios. While a minimally coupled scalar field has not the capability to be a successful dark energy candidate with cosmological constant line crossing, a nonminimally coupled scalar field in the presence of Lorentz invariance or a minimally coupled scalar field with Lorentz invariance violation have this capability. In the later case, accelerated expansion and phantom divide line crossing are the results of interactive nature of this Lorentz violating scenario.

Gravitational Uncertainty and Black Hole Remnants

Possible existence of black holes remnants provides a suitable candidates for dark matter. In this paper we study the possibility of existence for such remnants. We consider quantum gravitational induced corrections of black hole's entropy and temperature to investigate the possibility of such relics. Observational scheme for detection of these remnants and their cosmological constraints are discussed.

Crossing the Phantom Divide Line in a DGP-Inspired $F(R,ϕ)$-Gravity

We study possible crossing of the phantom divide line in a DGP-inspired $F(R,ϕ)$ braneworld scenario where scalar field and curvature quintessence are treated in a unified framework. With some specific form of $F(R,ϕ)$ and by adopting a suitable ansatz, we show that there are appropriate regions of the parameters space which account for late-time acceleration and admit crossing of the phantom divide line.
