Graph-Based Pseudo-multimodal Contrastive Learning for 12-Lead ECG Representations

12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) is a standard, non-invasive examination widely used for diagnosing coronary artery disease, where clinical interpretation relies on comparing waveform patterns across multiple leads. However, most existing ECG analysis methods focus on single-lead signals or treat each lead independently, and typically process ECG signals as one-dimensional time-series data using CNNs or RNNs. While effective in modeling local waveform changes, such approaches have difficulty capturing inter-lead dependency and global waveform patterns essential for clinical diagnosis. To address this limitation, we propose a graph-based pseudo-multimodal contrastive learning framework called Graph-CMMC. ECG waveforms are transformed into Gramian Angular Difference Field (GADF) images to construct complementary representations of the same cardiac activity, enabling a pseudo-multimodal learning setting. Using all 12 leads, Graph-CMMC aligns waveform and GADF representations in a self-supervised manner, while a graph-based relational module is employed to model inter-lead dependency and enforce structural consistency across leads during contrastive learning. Experimental results on a multi-label coronary artery occlusion classification task demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves competitive performance compared to supervised learning methods. These results further suggest the effectiveness of using GADF as a complementary representation and incorporating explicit graph-based modeling of inter-lead dependency for learning robust 12-lead ECG representations.

Electronic Structures of CeM2Al10 (M = Fe, Ru, and Os) Studied by Soft X-ray Resonant and High-Resolution Photoemission Spectroscopies

We have performed a photoemission spectroscopy (PES) study of CeM2Al10 (M = Fe, Ru, and Os) to directly observe the electronic structure involved in the unusual magnetic ordering. Soft X-ray resonant (SXR) PES provides spectroscopic evidence of the hybridization between conduction and Ce 4f electrons (c-f hybridization) and the order of the hybridization strength (Ru < Os < Fe). High-resolution (HR) PES of CeRu2Al10 and CeOs2Al10, as compared with that of CeFe2Al10, identifies two structures that can be ascribed to structures induced by the c-f hybridization and the antiferromagnetic ordering, respectively. Although the c-f hybridization-induced structure is a depletion of the spectral intensity (pseudogap) around the Fermi level (EF) with an energy scale of 20-30 meV, the structure related to the antiferromagnetic ordering is observed as a shoulder at approximately 10-11 meV within the pseudogap. The energies of the shoulder structures of CeRu2Al10 and CeOs2Al10 are approximately half of the optical gap (20 meV), indicating that EF is located at the midpoint of the gap.

Soft x-ray photoemission study of new BiS$_{2}$-layered superconductor LaO$_{1-x}$F$_{x}$BiS$_{2}$

We use core level and valence band soft x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (SXPES) to investigate electronic structure of new BiS$_{2}$ layered superconductor LaO$_{1-x}$F$_{x}$BiS$_{2}$. Core level spectra of doped samples show a new spectral feature at the lower binding energy side of the Bi 4${f}$ main peak, which may be explained by core-hole screening with metallic states near the Fermi level ($E_{\rm F}$). Experimental electronic structure and its ${x}$ dependence (higher binding energy shift of the valence band as well as appearance of new states near $E_{\rm F}$ having dominant Bi 6${p}$ character) were found to be consistent with the predictions of band structure calculations in general. Noticeable deviation of the spectral shape of the states near $E_{\rm F}$ from that of calculations might give insight into the interesting physical properties. These results provide first experimental electronic structure of the new BiS$_{2}$ layered superconductors.

Electronic Structure of Noncentrosymmetric Superconductor Li$_2$(Pd$_x$Pt$_{1-x}$3)B Studied by Photoemission Spectroscopy

We have performed x-ray photoemission spectroscopy on the system of noncentrosymmetric superconductor, Li$_2$(Pd$_x$Pt$_{1-x}$3)B. For Li$_2$Pt$_3$B, we found 2 major peaks with 2 other weak components, and the band calculations were in agreement with the observation. The assignment of valence band features using the calculated partial density of states determined that Pt 5d and B 2p contribute to the density of states at the Fermi level. The effect of antisymmetric spin-orbit coupling on the band structure might have been probed, and the analysis on the effect of Pt incorporation into the system indicates the smooth evolution of electronic structures. We presented the measurements of core levels (Pd 3d, Pt 4f, and B 1s) and discussed the chemical bonding states and electronic structures from them.

Holes in the valence band of superconducting boron-doped diamond film studied by soft X-ray absorption and emission spectroscopy

Carbon- and boron-2$p$ states of superconducting and non-superconducting boron-doped diamond samples are measured using soft X-ray emission and absorption spectroscopy. For the superconducting sample, a large density of hole states is observed in the valence band in addition to the states in the impurity band. The hole states in the valence band is located at about 1.3 eV below the valence band maximum regardless of the doping level, which cannot be interpreted within a simple rigid band model. Present experimental results, combined with the first principles calculations, suggest that superconductivity is to be attributed to the holes in the valence band.

Angle-resolved photoemission study of MX-chain compound [Ni(chxn)$_2$Br]Br$_2$

We report on the results of angle-resolved photoemission experiments on a quasi-one-dimensional $MX$-chain compound [Ni(chxn)$_2$Br]Br$_2$ (chxn = 1$R$,2$R$-cyclohexanediamine), a one-dimensional Heisenberg system with $S=1/2$ and $J \sim 3600$ K, which shows a gigantic non-linear optical effect. A "band" having about 500 meV energy dispersion is found in the first half of the Brillouin zone $(0\le kb/π<1/2)$, but disappears at $kb / π\sim 1/2$. Two dispersive features, expected from the spin-charge separation, as have been observed in other quasi-one-dimensional systems like Sr$_2$CuO$_3$, are not detected. These characteristic features are well reproduced by the $d$-$p$ chain model calculations with a small charge-transfer energy $Δ$ compared with that of one-dimensional Cu-O based compounds. We propose that this smaller $Δ$ is the origin of the absence of clear spin- and charge-separation in the photoemission spectra and strong non-linear optical effect in [Ni(chxn)$_2$Br]Br$_2$.
