Production Effects and Final-state Interactions in $\pi_1 \to 3\pi$

We investigate the $\pi_1(1600)$ signal channel of $3\pi$ in the $J^{PC} = 1^{-+} \,[\pi\pi]_{1^{--}}\pi~P$-wave. This channel has recently been analyzed by the COMPASS collaboration using the ``freed-isobar" technique which provides direct experimental access to the lineshape modifications of the $P$-wave $\pi\pi$ sub-channel arising from both final state interactions and production processes such as the Deck mechanism. We motivate a unified formalism combining production effects and final state interactions using the Khuri-Treiman formalism, which is consistent with low-energy unitarity, analyticity, and crossing symmetry, seeded by an initial production amplitude. We demonstrate that the precise lineshape of the $\pi\pi$ mass spectrum can be used to determine the relative strength and complex phase of different production mechanisms contributing to the $3\pi$ final state. We conduct a global fit of the $\pi_1$ freed-isobar data set, yielding a multi-dimensional parameterization of the $\pi_1\to3\pi$ decay amplitude at COMPASS as a function of both decay and production variables. We identify the contributions from short-range production and the Deck mechanism and extract the total $3\pi$ invariant mass dependence which will be important for a future extraction of the $\pi_1$ pole position in the $\rho\pi$ channel.

In Vivo Assessment of Hypertensive Nephrosclerosis Using Ultrasound Localization Microscopy

Purpose: As a typical chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertensive nephrosclerosis (HN) is a common syndrome of hypertension, characterized by chronic kidney microvascular damage. Early diagnosis of microvascular damage using conventional ultrasound imaging encounters challenges in sensitivity and specificity owing to the inherent diffraction limit. Ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) has been developed to obtain microvasculature and microvascular hemodynamics within the kidney, and would be a promising tool for early diagnosis of CKD. Methods: In this study, the advantage of ULM over conventional clinical inspection (serum and urine tests) and ultrasound imaging (Doppler and contrast-enhanced ultrasound imaging) for early diagnosis of HN was investigated. Examinations were carried out on 6 spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and 5 normal Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) rats at the age of 10 weeks. Results: The experimental results showed that the indicators derived from conventional clinical inspection and ultrasound imaging (PSV, EDV, RI, RT, IMAX, mTT and AUC) did not show significant difference between hypertensive and healthy rats (p > 0.05), while the TTP derived from CEUS (p < 0.05) and the mean blood flow speed in artery of SHR derived from ULM is significantly higher than that of WKY rats (p < 0.01). Conclusion: The quantitative results showed that ULM has higher sensitivity than conventional clinical inspection and ultrasound imaging. ULM may promise a reliable solution for early diagnosis of HN.

The complementarity relations of quantum coherence in quantum information processing

We establish two complementarity relations for the relative entropy of coherence in quantum information processing, i.e., quantum dense coding and teleportation. We first give an uncertaintylike expression relating local quantum coherence to the capacity of optimal dense coding for bipartite system. The relation can also be applied to the case of dense coding by using unital memoryless noisy quantum channels. Further, the relation between local quantum coherence and teleportation fidelity for two-qubit system is given.

Tripartite Bell-type inequalities for measures of quantum coherence and skew information

We construct the tripartite Bell-type inequalities of product states for l1-norm of coherence, relative entropy of coherence and skew information. Some three-qubit entangled states violate these inequalities. Particulary, the tripartite Bell-type inequality for relative entropy of coherence is always violated by the W class pure or mixed states as well as the GHZ class pure or mixed states, being used as entanglement witness.

Effect of Na doping on flux pinning of YBa1.9Na0.1Cu3O7-d

We have prepared Na-doped YBa2Cu3Oy (YBa1.9Na0.1Cu3Oy +40mol%Y211) (YBNCO) and Na-free YBa2Cu3Oy (YBCO) samples by the Melt-Textured Growth (MTG) method to study the effect of doped Na ion on flux pinning. The ac susceptibility curves (acs) as well as the hysteresis loops were measured for the samples. Then the effective pinning energy (U(T,Hdc,J)), irreversibility line (Hirr(T)) and critical current density (jc(Hdc)) were determined, where T, Hdc and J are temperature, dc magnetic field and current density, respectively. We found that, with Na doping, the Hirr(T) line shifted to lower temperature while the Jc(Hdc) and U(T,Hdc,J) became smaller. It indicates that the Na ions play a negative role in the flux pinning of YBCO. The appearance of the second peak in the Jc(Hdc) curves and the enhancement of anisotropy in YBNCO further support this finding.

History effect in inhomogeneous superconductors

A model was proposed to account for a new kind of history effect in the transport measurement of a sample with inhomogeneous flux pinning coupled with flux creep. The inhomogeneity of flux pinning was described in terms of alternating weak pinning (lower jc) and strong pinning region (higher jc). The flux creep was characterized by logarithmic barrier. Based on this model, we numerically observed the same clockwise V-I loops as reported in references. Moreover, we predicted behaviors of the V-I loop at different sweeping rates of applied current dI/dt or magnetic fields Ba, etc. Electric transport measurement was performed in Ag-sheathed Bi2-xPbxSr2Ca2Cu3Oy tapes immersed in liquid nitrogen with and without magnetic fields. V-I loop at certain dI/dt and Ba was observed. It is found that the area of the loop is more sensitive to dI/dt than to Ba, which is in agreement well with our numerical results.
