Five W-boson amplitude = near-null decagon

We study a five-leg scattering amplitude on the special Coulomb branch of planar N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. We reach this point of the moduli space of scalar vacuum expectation values by considering six-dimensional N=(1,1) super Yang-Mills theory and reducing it down to four space-time dimensions with extra-dimensional momenta being nonvanishing. This branch is characterized by massive external W-bosons and massless internal gluons propagating in loops. We analyze the five W-boson amplitude in the kinematics when their masses are much smaller than all Mandelstam-like invariants. This is what we dub the near mass-shell limit. We perform calculations to two-loop order in 't Hooft coupling, making use of recent advances in analytic calculations of required Feynman integrals. Our findings confirm exponentiation of infrared logarithms and enable us to conjecture a concise all-order expression for the amplitude in question. We further analyze its duality to the `square root' of a five-point correlation function of infinitely-heavy half-BPS operators, known as the decagon. By considering the near-null limit for inter-operators distances, we verify that the two objects coincide. This observation corroborates the novel Coulomb amplitudes/heavy correlator duality previously observed for four W-boson amplitudes and Sudakov form factors.

Off-shell minimal form factors

We study off-shell n-particle form factors of half-BPS operators built from n complex scalar fields at the two-loop order in the planar maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory (sYM). These are known as minimal form factors. We construct their representation as a sum of independent scalar Feynman integrals relying on two complementary techniques. First, by going to the Coulomb branch of the theory by employing the spontaneous symmetry breaking which induces masses, but only for external particles while retaining masslessness for virtual states propagating in quantum loops. For a low number of external legs, this entails an uplift of massless integrands to their massive counterparts. Second, utilizing the N=1 superspace formulation of the N=4 sYM and performing algebra of covariant derivatives off-shell. Both techniques provide identical results. These form factors are then studied in the near-mass-shell limit with the off-shellness regularizing emerging infrared divergences. We observe their exponentiation and confirm the octagon anomalous dimension, not the cusp, as the coefficient of the Sudakov double logarithmic behavior. By subtracting these singularities and defining a finite remainder, we verified that its symbol is identical to the one found a decade ago in the conformal case. Beyond-the-symbol contributions are different in the two cases, however.

Pinching Sudakov

In this paper, we discuss the factorization of the Sudakov form factor on the Coulomb branch of maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in the near mass-shell limit. We unravel all pinch singularities of this observable making use of the Method of Regions. We find their operator content in terms of matrix elements of Wilson lines on semi-infinite and finite intervals for the jet and ultrasoft functions, respectively. However, naive factorization into these incoherent momentum components is broken at two-loop order by effects subleading in the parameter of dimensional regularization. To save the day, we perform an appropriate twisting of the functions involved as well as simultaneous finite scheme transformation of the 't Hooft coupling. Infrared physics of twisted jet and ultrasoft functions is governed by the octagon anomalous dimension, while the untwisted ultrasoft function possesses infrared evolution driven by an anomalous dimension different from the ubiquitous cusp.

Three-leg form factor on Coulomb branch

We study the form factor of the lowest component of the stress-tensor multiplet away from the origin of the moduli space in the spontaneously broken, aka Coulomb, phase of the maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory for decay into three massive W-bosons. The calculations are done at two-loop order by deriving and solving canonical differential equations in the asymptotical limit of nearly vanishing W-masses. We confirm our previous findings that infrared physics of `off-shell observables' is governed by the octagon anomalous dimension rather than the cusp. In addition, the form factor in question possesses a nontrivial remainder function, which was found to be identical to the massless case, upon a proper subtraction of infrared logarithms (and finite terms). However, the iterative structure of the object is more intricate and is not simply related to the previous orders in coupling as opposed to amplitudes/form factors at the origin of the moduli space.

Off-shell form factor in N=4 sYM at three loops

In this paper we provide a detailed account of our calculation, briefly reported in arXiv:2209.09263, of a two-particle form factor of the lowest components of the stress-tensor multiplet in N=4 sYM theory on its Coulomb branch, which is interpreted as an off-shell kinematical regime. We demonstrate that up to three-loop order, both its infrared-divergent as well as finite parts do exponentiate in the Sudakov regime, with the coefficient accompanying the double logarithm being determined by the octagon anomalous dimension $Γ_{\rm oct}$. We also observe that up to this order in 't Hooft coupling the logarithm of the Sudakov form factor is identical to twice the logarithm of the null octagon, which was introduced within the context of integrability-based computation of four point correlators with infinitely large R-charges. The null octagon is known in a closed form for all values of the 't Hooft coupling constant and kinematical parameters. We conjecture that the relation between the former and the off-shell Sudakov form factor holds to all loop orders.

Exact off-shell Sudakov form factor in N=4 SYM

We consider the Sudakov form factor in N=4 SYM in the off-shell kinematical regime, which can be achieved by considering the theory on its Coulomb branch. We demonstrate that up two three loops both the infrared-divergent as well as the finite terms do exponentiate, with the coefficient accompanying $\log^2(m^2)$ determined by the octagon anomalous dimension $Γ_{oct}$. This behaviour is in strike contrast to previous conjectural accounts in the literature. Together with the finite terms we observe that up to three loops the logarithm of the Sudakov form factor is identical to twice the logarithm of the null octagon $\mathbb{O}_0$, which was recently introduced within the context of integrability-based approaches to four point correlation functions with infinitely-large R-charges. The null octagon $\mathbb{O}_0$ is known in a closed form for all values of the 't Hooft coupling constant and kinematical parameters. We conjecture that the relation between $\mathbb{O}_0$ and the off-shell Sudakov form factor will hold to all loop orders.

UV Divergences, RG Equations and High Energy Behaviour of the Amplitudes in the Wess-Zumino Model with Quartic Interaction

We analyse the UV divergences for the scattering amplitude in the Wess-Zumino SUSY model with the quartic superpotential. Within the superfield formalism, we calculate the corresponding Feynman diagrams and evaluate their leading divergences up to 4 loop order of PT. Then we construct recurrence relations that connect the leading UV divergences in subsequent orders of perturbation theory. These recurrence relations allow us to calculate the leading divergences in a pure algebraic way starting from the one loop contribution. We check that the obtained relations correctly reproduce the lower order diagrams evaluated explicitly. At last, we convert the recurrence relations into the RG equations that have integro-differential form. Solving these equations for a particular sequence of diagrams, we find out the high energy behaviour of the amplitude. We then argue that the full amplitude has a similar behaviour with the key feature of the existence of a pole in the s-channel corresponding to a state with a mass ~1/g, where g is the original dimensionfull coupling of the theory. We find out the this state is actually a ghost one similar to the Landau pole in scalar theory.

Infrared properties of five-point massive amplitudes in N=4 SYM on the Coulomb branch

We investigate the structure of the five-point W boson scattering amplitude in N=4 SYM on the Coulomb branch in a small mass limit. We show that up to two loops the IR divergences exponentiate and are controlled by the $Γ_{oct}$ anomalous dimension similar to the four-point amplitude case considered recently in the literature. We also make a conjecture regarding the all-loop structure of the five-point amplitude

Critical phase boundary and finite-size fluctuations in Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model with random inter-cell couplings

A dimerized fermion chain, described by Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model, is a well-known example of 1D system with a non-trivial band topology. An interplay of disorder and topological ordering in the SSH model is of a great interest owing to experimental advancements in synthesized quantum simulators. In this work, we investigate a special sort of a disorder when inter-cell hopping amplitudes are random. Using a definition for $\mathbb{Z}_2$-topological invariant $ν\in \{ 0; 1\}$ in terms of a non-Hermitian part of the total Hamiltonian, we calculate $\langleν\rangle$ averaged by random realizations. This allows to find (i) an analytical form of the critical surface that separates phases of distinct topological orders and (ii) finite size fluctuations of $ν$ for arbitrary disorder strength. Numerical simulations of the edge modes formation and gap suppression at the transition are provided for finite-size system. In the end, we discuss a band-touching condition derived within the averaged Green function method for a thermodynamic limit.

Amplitudes in fishnet theories in diverse dimensions and Box ladder diagrams

We investigate properties of four point colour ordered scattering amplitudes in D=6 fishnet CFT. We show that such amplitudes are related via very simple relation to their D=4 counterparts considered previously in the literature. Exploiting this relation we obtain closed expression for such amplitudes and investigate its behaviour at weak and strong coupling. As by product of this investigation we also obtain generating function for on-shell D=6 Box ladder diagrams with l rungs.

Dual Conformal Symmetry and Iterative Integrals in Six Dimensions

In this article, we continue the investigation of hep-th 1611.02179 regarding iterative properties of dual conformal integrals in higher dimensions. In d=4, iterative properties of four and five point dual conformal integrals manifest themselves in the famous BDS ansatz conjecture. In hep-th 1611.02179 it was also conjectured that a similar structure of integrals may reappear in d=6. We show that one can systematically, order by order in the number of loops, construct combinations of d=6 integrals with 1/(p^2)^2 propagators with an iterative structure similar to the d=4 case. Such combinations as a whole also respect dual conformal invariance but individual integrals may not.

Pentagon OPE resummation in N=4 SYM: hexagons with one effective particle contribution

We present the technique for resummation of flux tube excitations series arising in pentagon operator expansion program for polygonal Wilson loops in N=4 SYM. Here we restrict ourselves with contributions of one-particle effective states and consider as a particular example NMHV 6 particle amplitude at one-loop. The presented technique is also applicable at higher loops for one effective particle contributions and has the potential for generalization for contributions with more effective particles.

High Energy Behaviour in Maximally Supersymmetric Gauge Theories in Various Dimensions

Maximally supersymmetric field theories in various dimensions are believed to possess special properties due to extended supersymmetry. In four dimensions they are free from UV divergences but are IR divergent on shell, in higher dimensions, on the contrary, they are IR finite but UV divergent. In what follows we consider the four-point on-shell scattering amplitudes in D=6,8,10 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in the planar limit within the spinor-helicity and on shell supersymmetric formalism. We study the UV divergences and demonstrate how one can sum them over all orders of PT. Analyzing the R-operation we obtain the recursive relations and derive differential equations that sum all leading, subleading, etc., divergences in all loops generalizing the standard RG formalism for the case of nonrenormalizable interactions. We then perform the renormalization procedure which differs from the ordinary one in that the renormalization constant becomes the operator depending on kinematics. Solving the obtained RG equations for particular sets of diagrams analytically and for the general case numerically, we analyze their high energy behaviour and find out that while each term of PT increases as a power of energy the total sum behaves differently: in D=6 two partial amplitudes decrease with energy and the third one increases exponentially, while in D=8 and 10 the amplitudes possess an infinite number of periodic poles at finite energy.

The all-loop conjecture for integrands of reggeon amplitudes in N=4 SYM

In this paper we present the all-loop conjecture for integrands of Wilson line form factors, also known as reggeon amplitudes, in N=4 SYM. In particular we present a new gluing operation in momentum twistor space used to obtain reggeon tree-level amplitudes and loop integrands starting from corresponding expressions for on-shell amplitudes. The introduced gluing procedure is used to derive BCFW recursions both for tree-level reggeon amplitudes and their loop integrands. In addition we provide predictions for reggeon loop integrands written in the basis of local integrals. As a check of the correctness of gluing operation at loop level we derive the expression for LO BFKL kernel in N=4 SYM.

Four dimensional ambitwistor strings and form factors of local and Wilson line operators

We consider the description of form factors of local and Wilson line operators (reggeon amplitudes) in N=4 SYM within the framework of four dimensional ambitwistor string theory. We present the explicit expressions for string composite operators corresponding to stress-tensor operator supermultiplet and Wilson line operator insertion. It is shown, that corresponding tree-level string correlation functions correctly reproduce previously obtained Grassmannian integral representations. As by product we derive four dimensional tree-level scattering equations representations for the mentioned form factors and formulate a simple gluing procedure used to relate operator form factors with on-shell amplitudes.

Grassmannian Integral for General Gauge Invariant Off-shell Amplitudes in N=4 SYM

In this paper we consider tree-level gauge invariant off-shell amplitudes (Wilson line form factors) in $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM with arbitrary number of off-shell gluons or equivalently Wilson line operator insertions. We make a conjecture for the Grassmannian integral representation for such objects and verify our conjecture on several examples. It is remarkable that in our formulation one can consider situation when on-shell particles are not present at all, i.e. we have Grassmannian integral representation for purely off-shell object. In addition we show that off-shell amplitude with arbitrary number of off-shell gluons could be also obtained using quantum inverse scattering method for auxiliary $\mathfrak{gl}(4|4)$ super spin chain.

The latter is used to derive scattering equations representation for reggeon amplitudes with multiple reggeized gluons present. It is shown, that corresponding tree-level string correlation function correctly reproduces previously obtained Grassmannian integral representation of reggeon amplitudes in N=4 SYM.

Exact solution for the inhomogeneous Dicke model in the canonical ensemble: thermodynamical limit and finite-size corrections

We consider an exactly solvable inhomogeneous Dicke model which describes an interaction between a disordered ensemble of two-level systems with single mode boson field. The existing method for evaluation of Richardson-Gaudin equations in the thermodynamical limit is extended to the case of Bethe equations in Dicke model. Using this extension, we present expressions both for the ground state and lowest excited states energies as well as leading-order finite-size corrections to these quantities for an arbitrary distribution of individual spin energies. We then evaluate these quantities for an equally-spaced distribution (constant density of states). In particular, we study evolution of the spectral gap and other related quantities. We also reveal regions on the phase diagram, where finite-size corrections are of particular importance.
